Sip voip settings

hi, i am having difficulties making internet calls to mobile/landline/international numbers. I have no difficulties in registering my sip account and making internet calls to other sip account holders. What I notice is that for any internet calls domain name is also appended, for ex [email protected]. I am using nokia E63.
Any suggestions please

  • SIP VoIP Settings energy consumption under 3G Vs W...

    Hi everybody.
I'm suffering big pain with "SIP VoIP Settings" (SIP_VoIP_3_x_Settings_v2_0_en) because eats my E52 battery in a while (few hours).
    The fact:
    E52-1: 054.003.280.1 RM-469
Stand by mode under my 3G: 20 mWatt (5 mA). Figures are averages of one hour took with: Nokia_Energy_Profiler_v1_2_en.
Connection with my VoIP provider using "SIP VoIP Settings" under my WiFi: 41 mW (10 mA)
Connection with my VoIP provider using "SIP VoIP Settings" under my 3G: 297 mW (107 mA).
The ratio between 3G and WiFi is 8-10 times!
Nokia is aware of this issue (cfr. http://www.google.it/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=3&ved=0CEUQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fr...) and I wonder if 5 years later there is a solution to it.
Anybody has an idea about obtimal configuration of "SIP VoIP Settings"?
    Best regards.

  • Error downloading SIP VOIP settings application

    Hello!
I have a n85 and I've tried to download the SIP voip app 3.x from
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/d476061e-90ca-42e9-b3ea-1a852f3808ec/SIP_VoIP_Settin...
and it always give me an error.
Is it possible that someone who downloaded it correctly could send it to me?
    Thanks!

If your office network is behind a firewall that blocks the ports that are necessary for correct operation of SIP then there's nothing you can do to get it working properly. At least not directly.
What you can try is using a 3rd-party application such as fring. Fring allows you to set up a generic SIP session with the VoIP provider of your choice. You connect to fring's systems over a single-port, proprietary connection, and fring connects to your SIP provider instead of you.
It's obviously not as good as a direct connection between you and the VoIP provider but at least it works. I'm more or less forced to do that now with the N96 having no other real SIP support.

  • Voip settings disturbing gsm call.

    Hello !
I've installed voip settings application on my n85 and set up a sip profile and it's working pretty good.
I activate this profile whenever i need it via the contacts application.
But everytime i'm having a phone call via the gsm network, the phone connects to the internet (arrows below 3G) even if my sip profile is not activated.
It stops doing this if i delete the sip profile.
So what data are being exchanged when i'm having a simple gsm call ?
And is it possible to stop this (other than using fring...)
    Thanks a lot ;-)

  • E52 - Nokia SIP VoIP application - help needed

    Hi there,
I am pretty new here.  I need the Nokia SIP VoIP application for my E52, something like SIP_VoIP_3_1_Settings_S60_3.... .sis
    Where can I get it?
My problem is, that I can set up easily an VoIP service with my phone and it connects perfectly.  However, I can't use it with my E52 since I can't activitate it on my phone.  I would need the option:  > connection > Internet Tel. Settings   which is not there.
I guess I need the Nokia SIP VoIP application, however I can't find a compatible version, and the SIP_VoIP_3_1_Settings_S60_5_x_v1_0_en.sis does not work.
    Thanx
    Caristeo

Although I've never used it, I was able to install the SIP Settings program for my E73 (same OS and Feature Pack as your phone) from http://www.developer.nokia.com/info/sw.nokia.com/id/d476061e-90ca-42e9-b3ea-1a852f3808ec/SIP_VoIP_Se... .  (You need to make an account if you don't have one already.)  Download the "SIP VOIP 3.x" version.  I do have a Settings -> Connection -> SIP Settings option on my phone, as well as Control Panel -> Net Settings -> Advanced VOIP Settings.  Hope that helps.

  • VOIP: SIP VoIP 3.1 Nokia Suite begins install, E71...

I have a Nokia E71 and would like to begin using our wifi to make calls, (our carrier signal is week/dropped calls/connection on-hold). When I try to install the file, SIP_VoIP_3_1_Settings_Symbian_3_v1_0_en, Nokia Suite begins the installation, says to continue on phone, phone pauses and then a red screen appears, "File Corrupted".
    Can you help?

    @oneofmarysboys
You are trying to install a version for Symbian S^3 devices, click on the blue upturned arrow head to reveal the other available versions of which you require SIP_VoIP_3x_Settings_v2.0_en.sis (164 kb).
Once installed you may like to look at this resource:http://mywebexperience.com/voip/sip-call-settings-for-e71-voip-calls-through-your-nokia-mobile/

  • E52 - Advanced VoIP settings 3.x v2 - VoIP service...

E52 - Advanced VoIP settings 3.x v2 - VoIP service profile settinsg unavailable
    Hello,
I have Nokia E52 with firmware 091.003, with installed VoIP advanced settings 3.x version  2.0.
My problem is that I have unavailable Profile settings in VoIP services menu ( with SIP profile defined)
to set WMCMDA(?)  ON to use 3G.
Factory reset of settings neither reflashing of FW by Nokia OVI suite did not help.
My previous E52 ( stolen from me ) with FW 07x.nnn or older had  it available......
Do anybody know, or has clue, about the reason and solution ?
I use Nimbuzz 3rd party VoIP, that works great on wifi/ 3g and even Edge,
but for some reasons is cancelling voice after 65 s of the call....
    Poutnik

BTW, I would not believe how deletion of extra VoIP service can ruin Nokia Connection destination/target (?) groups, so Nokia is not easily able to access internet.
E.g. Opera mini, instead of list of variable APs starts t offer just
    System Default and
    Always ask,
but none of them is usafull, because even Always ask fails, never asking me....

How to configure SIP profile in Nokia Eseries devices for VoIP calls?
This text is a cut-and-paste from Nokia's FAQ.
The Nokia Eseries mobile devices support SIP VoIP internet calls. This article describes a sample configuration when user authentication is enabled in the SIP proxy and registrar servers. The proxy and registrar servers are located in the same device in this sample.
Before configuring the mobile device, the following information should be obtained from the SIP service provider (some other parameter values may also need to be checked if not using the default values):
SIP proxy and registrar server address ("sip.voipservice.com" in this sample)
SIP proxy realm ("inphone.com" in this sample)
SIP registrar realm ("sip.voiceservice.com" in this sample)
User name ("1234567" in this sample for both the proxy and registrar)
    User password ("1234")
Public user name ("[email protected]" in this sample)
In order to establish a VoIP call, a WLAN access point needs to be defined in the mobile device access point settings and the mobile device must be within the reach of the WLAN network.
Start the mobile device SIP configuration by going to menu Tools > Settings > Connection > Sip Settings and by creating a new SIP profile. The following parameters are defined in the profile:
Profile name: Siptest (can be freely chosen)
    Service profile: IETF
Default access point: WLAN access point used for the VoIP connections
Public user name: [email protected] (note that the public user name must be given in this format, including the domain name)
    Use compression: no
Registration: when needed (set "always on" if you want the registration to occur automatically)
    Use security: no
    Proxy Server:
    Proxy Server Address: sip.voipservice.com
    Realm: inphone.com
    User name: 1234567
    Password: 1234
    Allow loose routing: yes
    Transport type: UDP
    Port: 5060
    Registrar:
    Registrar Server Address: sip.voipservice.com
    Realm: sip.voipservice.com
    User name: 1234567
    Password: 1234
    Allow loose routing: yes
    Transport type: UDP
    Port: 5060
Note that the realm name is often the same for both the proxy and registrar but the name may also be different, as in this sample. If the registrar realm name is not correctly defined, the registration will fail. If the realm name of the proxy is not correct, the registration may succeed but the internet calls will fail.

  • MB usage for SIP-VOIP ?

Does anyone have any experience on :-
    1. How much data (GPRS mega-byte) used per minute for Skype over FRING,
    2. How much data used for Google-talk
    3. Similar apps.
I am using E71, with SIP-VOIP, GRPS, FRING, NIMBUZZ.
    Thanks for your help !!

    Hello giliadw,
Don’t wait for a built in function because that’s no where soon to be seen in near future. You should certainly contact a hosted PBX provider they definitely provide VoIP solutions for mobiles. You can simply function all the SIP tools through their application. I can recommend you my PBX VoIP provider The RealPBX, they have a decent phone application and services

  • How to use linphone - open sip VoIP library in Windows desktop application.?

I want to develop an VoIP .net application in C# lang for windows desktop. Does anyone know any open sip VoIP library to use.? I know about Linphone. but it is available for Android, iOS and Windows(app developed using GTK- UI builder). If anyone knows how
to use Linphone for windows then ans also will be appreciated.
I am using MS visual studio for application development. Tell me its compiling steps as well. How to use that in WPF or WinForms.?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
The VoIP seems not MS product and can you clarify it? Basically, if it is third party product, you will need to ask for the API writer for details. For example, find a forum here:

  • N95 SIP/VOIP Calling

    Hi everyone,
I have just recently bought a Nokia N95 and was trying to configure the SIP setting on it to work on my VOIP network. Now for the life of me i can't seem to get it to work it is currently on T-Mobile and just wanted to know if anyone has successfully got SIP working on a N95. If you have do you mind posting an example of your settings please so i can have a look.
    Thanks
    Rockyuk

I recommend the following SIP Providers:
    Sipgate
    VoipTalk
Both SIP provider's websites have instuctions how to configure the earlier Nokia phones, and these instructions also work for the N95. I plan to write up a how-to guide for the N95, which I will publish on my website, but this won't be ready for a week or so.
Sipgate is probably slightly better as you get a free answerphone and a free 0845 or local number assigned to your SIP account.
I live in France, where unmetered GPRS access is expensive. So I only use these SIP services at WiFi hotspots at home and in my hotel.
However, a friend of mine has T-Mobile. He has unlimited tarif from T-Mobile. He has configured these two SIP providers on his T-Mobile branded N95, and they work extremely well on the 3G connection.
You are lucky to have a T-Mobile service. As I am sure you are aware Orange and Voda have removed the SIP client from their branded N95.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think Orange and Voda have also blocked the SIP ports (typically, UDP 5060 - UDP 5065). So even if you had a generic N95 you would not be able to use the SIP client with Orange or Voda !
