Siri can't schedule past tomorrow...

Ok this is wierd. I told Siri to create an apointment on Oct 27 from 6 to Midnight. She responded with the calendar display (correctly), and said 'should I create th apointment?'. Hitting either Confirm, or saying 'yes' and she replies with "I'm sorry, I can't do that".

Thought it might be due to the fact that we were in the car moving, so tried it at home using Wifi - same thing. Then I said the same thing but without the 'till midnight' part, and no problem creating it.
Huh says I - she does'nt understand the meaning of 'till midnight' - then I thinks to meself, 'then why did she display the calendar entry and ask for confirmation to set it up?' If confused, she normally seeks clarification. Wierd.
Then I tried the same phraseology setting up one for "Make appointment tomorrow from 6 to midnight". She did that with no stumbles. It appeared correctly in the calendare. Hmmm, thinks me again - maybe there is something about saying a specific date, or maybe it was (very wierdly) THAT date that was screwing it up. Tried different dates - same issue. Tried saying 'Make appointment two days from now from 6 to midnight' she presented the correct calendar entry, but then failed on confirm.
So, she absolutely doesn't like the 'till midnight'. phrasing - except for 'tomorrow'.
Curiouser and Curiouser!
Any thoughts?
Going off now to experiment with 'till noon' 'afternoon' and 'tea - time'!

the problem is meta chain is not possible to schedule any process chain which includes any interrupt process, there may exist some SAP notes about it

Darn -- that is exactly what it should do. If you could then navigate to MyWorld, it would present a screen saying it is resynchronizing with the AppWorld Servers, and this process has been known to clear up many other issues. Rats...

I recommend you contact AT&T's dedicated BB Support staff (call their front line, request escalation to BB Support) and have them check to be sure that your account with them is correctly configured for this device. Sometimes when switching devices things don't fully automatically move behind the scenes, and only they (ATT) can validate that.

Siri won't schedule appointments

Siri won't schedule appointments on my Ipod Touch fifth generation although I have activated Icloud

Siri can search things on the web, make calculations, look up weather, but can't make notes, reminders, alarms and calendar-related stuff.

Iphone 5s - siri can not hear me

I Have troubles with Siri and the keyboard microphone. Siri can not hear me and it is not possible to dictate any text via the keyboard. Both functions are working fine when I use a external headphone with microphone. The voice memo app is working correctly, so I don't think it is a hardware problem. I checked all siri settings and they seem okay. Voice feedback is not on handsfree but on always. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I have the feeling the iPhone isfor these functions expecting audio input from annexternal source in stead of the build in microphones. Does anybody have an idea to solve this problem?

Well, that's a new comman issue comes up with IOS 8.3 version. Before 8.3 IOS version Siri were only available in some languages, however, after 8.3 release many languages are supported.
Even if you enable Siri > General > Settings.. still respond your voice.
No need to try to troubleshooting device - it will not solve your problem. You have to restore your iPhone and then setup as a new device. That's solution.

HT1212 I took the passcode lock off of my iPhone 5 and now I can't get on to my iPad. It is asking for the passcode and when I use the one that was set up it locks me out. How can I get past this?

I have the iPhone 5 and with the new sofware update it added a passcode lock. Same for the iPad. I removed the passcode lock from my iPhone and now I can access my iPad. It is still asking for the four digit passcode. I tried using the one that was orgingally programed and it disables it every time. How can I get past this? I have tried to do a restore and it still takes me back to the lock screen. Please help!

Force iPad into Recovery Mode. Follow step 1 to 6 very closely.

GUI functions (like GUI_UPLOAD) will not work in background, they need an actual Gui active.

I had the same problem and found a bunch of others did, too. Unfortunately all the posts had no responses! Anyway, I previously had my payment method linked to my paypal. I tried changing it to my credit card and it worked. Don't know if there's a bug with using paypal but that seemed to be the culprit for me. Good luck!

I do NOT like using my credit card if I don't have to, and I went out of my way to go buy an Apple gift card, which I successfully redeemed into my Apple account. However, when I use the Apple "Cards" app, it will not let me use anything other than my credit card. I tried purchasing a card, hopefulling it would come out of my Apple store balance, but no such luck -- it came out of my credit card.

Can you copy/paste files from the Finder to Mail in Lion, or drag them onto the Mail icon in the Dock to create a new message and attach the files to it?

One further question, if I may: in Panther (which is where I've aggregated nearly 7 years of mail), if you copy more than one file in the Finder, switch to Mail, and paste the files into a new message, only the file names paste in. If you copy one file and paste it into a Mail message, you get the file, not just the name. Is that still true, or has that (IMHO) bug been fixed since 10.3.9?

I have recently switched from a PC to a MacBook Pro.
I have a large number of documents and photographs on a multiterrabite external drive, backed up on a second multiterrabite external drive.
Both external drives are formatted for MacIntosh. This has been verified by agents at an Apple store and also at Best Buy in two different cities.
This is the problem:
The MacBook Pro will not allow me to cut-and-paste to and from or to click-and-drag to the external drive. I can copy-and-paste, but then I must send the original to the trash, which doubles the time and effort. Is there any way to cut-and-paste?
Also, the MacBook Pro will not allow me to rename multiple documents or photographs. I can click-and-rename a single one, but this is impossibly time consuming. I can batch-rename in iPhoto, but when I transfer the photographs to the external drive, the rename does not transfer.
I’m reduced to using my wife’s Toshiba to cut-and-past, rename, and transfer documents. It works perfectly. Is there any way to do this on the MacBook Pro?

No, this is a philosophical difference between Apple and Microsoft. Apple believes that it's dangerous to cut a file in case the user never pastes it; in that case the file is lost. Microsoft seems to not have this problem (if I remember Windows correctly) because they don't delete the originating file if it's cut but never pasted.
Even though Macs have a lot of keyboard shortcuts, philosophically Macs have traditionally been mouse-first. This applies to file copy operations. In your case, what a Mac user would do is open the source window, open the destination window (on your second drive), and then Command-drag the selected files from the source to destination window. This is because a normal drag would leave the originals behind, while adding the Command modifier key tells OS X that this is a Move, not a Copy, so don't leave the originals behind.
(In addition there are different rules for drag-copying within the same volume or between different volumes. If you drag between two folders on the same volume, the files are moved. If you drag between different volumes, the files are copied unless you hold down Command to delete the copies on the source volume.)

Two problems in this case. First, batch file renaming is not built into OS X unless you build something with Automator. However, there are many utilities that can do batch file renaming which you can find at macupdate.com or on the App Store. Since I work with media I often batch rename using one of the media managers I have lying around like Media Pro or Adobe Bridge (comes with Photoshop).
iPhoto is a database front end designed to shield the file system from the consumer and let them concentrate on creativity and sharing. As such it is often a poor choice for managing files directly. When you "transferred the photographs" chances are you moved the originals, not the ones iPhoto edited which are stored in a hidden folder.

There will not be a way to do it exactly like Windows. As described above, there are ways to do it "the Mac way." If it is possible to remove judgment on which way is "better" you might find the Mac way to be acceptable, but of course sometimes we simply prefer what we're used to.
