Siri can't work out where I live - can I show her manually in Maps?

When I ask Siri to remind me to do something "when I get home" she keeps telling me "I can remind you when you leave or arrive somewhere: here, home etc" but its never resolved. I've put my postcode in my contact details but I think that because I live in the middle of nowhere she's having trouble pin-pointing where I live. Can I manually place a pin in Maps and link it to my contact so she knows exactly where I live? Thanks for your help x

  • I'm mixing tracks together and can't work out where the volume and BPM control for each Track is located

    Which Table would be the best for mixing tracks together? I've been off the game for a bit and have forgotten, but last time i made a good mix tape from the New project table....
    Where do i go to match up the BPM for each track i lay to match up?
    How do i get the Volume line to pop up on each track so i can fade accordingly?

  • Working out where it ends

    Ok, so after moving an Object (photo) with one of the motion path effects, is there any way of working out the coordinates of where the picture ends up?
    I have a photo of a landscape, I create an highlight box followed by some lines to enlarge it (much the same as the zoom tool but without using it) and I then have a clip taken from a much higher resolution version of the original photo which is zoomed in further and create the zoom effect.
    I then fade everything out except the clip and motion path it from right to left. I then want to do the fake zoom effect again using a proper high resolution version of the object that is photographed. I just cannot work out where to put the "zoom lines" as I can't work out where it ends up!
    Is there a way of working it out or is it all done by eye?
    I can't even go to the next slide and put the clip in and start again as I still have to line it up by eye!
    Thoughts?
    Regards

    Unfortunately Captivate Effects don't give you the same level of control over this type of thing as you get in products like Flash for example.  There's nowhere on the interface to see the and final X or Y coordinates of the image, only it's starting point before the effect kicks in.
    I think lining things up by eye might be your only recourse.

  • How do I save a photo after I have zoomed in on it?  I want to save the zoom-in as a new photo and can't work out why this doesn't work the same way saving a cropped image, or adjusted image does.  Thank you.

    How do I save an image after I have zoomed in on it?  I can't work out why I can't save a zoom-in the same way
    I can save a cropped image or an adjusted image. Thanks, Lily A.

    Hi Matt, thanks for your reply.  Have realised that Zoom in Iphoto is just  a viewing tool and not an editing tool.
    Was creating beautiful abstractions by zooming in and wanted to create a new image of the result.   Have since discovered that cropping after zooming takes me a little way to where I want to go but it isn't the same effect.  Will perhaps have to try to create it when actually shooting.  Am doing a photoshop course in February and maybe will learn a bit more then, too.  Am pretty much an amateur just finding my way.
    Thanks again,
    Best, Lily

  • Newbie for the life of me can't figure out where in contact.php you tell it where to send form?

    Thx for any help.
    I know it's got to be so obbvious.
    Why would you send in php vs html?
    <?php
    if(!$_POST) exit;
    $email = $_POST['email'];
    //$error[] = preg_match('/\b[A-Z0-9._%-]+@[A-Z0-9.-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}\b/i', $_POST['email']) ? '' : 'INVALID EMAIL ADDRESS';
    if(!eregi("^[a-z0-9]+([_\\.-][a-z0-9]+)*" ."@"."([a-z0-9]+([\.-][a-z0-9]+)*)+"."\\.[a-z]{2,}"."$",$email )){
    $error.="Invalid email address entered";
    $errors=1;
    if($errors==1) echo $error;
    else{
    $values = array ('name','email','message');
    $required = array('name','email','message');
    $your_email = "[email protected]";
    $email_subject = "New Message: ".$_POST['subject'];
    $email_content = "new message:\n";
    foreach($values as $key => $value){
       if(in_array($value,$required)){
      if ($key != 'subject' && $key != 'company') {
        if( empty($_POST[$value]) ) { echo 'PLEASE FILL IN REQUIRED FIELDS'; exit; }
      $email_content .= $value.': '.$_POST[$value]."\n";
    if(@mail($your_email,$email_subject,$email_content)) {
      echo 'Message sent!';
    } else {
      echo 'ERROR!';
    ?>

    Thanks. I'm working with different hosts and I guess thats where the confusion for me is coming in. In bluehost, I simply submit my form through form action to http://www.bluehost/bluemail. With the php form construction it 's form action is contact.php. Does this mean that the server I'm working with will uinderstand how to process contact.php and where to send it based on paramaters previously submitted? Or do I instruct the server via the php form? Thanks again

    The reason why this is done in php is because php is server-side scripting. It's telling your server to do stuff. HTML doesn't tell your server anything, it tells the client (the web browser loading it) to do things. Only your server can send an email.

    I purchased Adobe ExportPDF today but can not work out how to now get PDF converted to WordDoc. Please help.

    I know; there are so many forums - it is not always easy to find the right one at the first try.  But posting in the right forum is important; it's where the people know about the product / service.

    When I open iTunes it will automatically go to full screen mode. I can't work out how to turn this off. Only iTunes opens to full screen mode.

    Go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar).  Choose "General".  Click "Always close windows when quitting an application".
    That should fix it.

    I have a macbook pro and use BT homehub 3.  can't work out how to connect my time capsule. can anyone help?  thanks

    Just need to plug the TC in to the hub in bridge mode.. do not try and bridge the homehub.. it is not possible with the setup BT uses.
    To bridge the TC.. plug it directly into a computer by ethernet.. no other connection to the TC or the computer.
    Press and hold in reset until the front LED flashes rapidly.. about 10sec.
    Release the reset.
    Open the airport utility and setup the TC to bridge mode.
    The actual method depends on version of the OS and airport utility you use.
    This is version 5.
    Sorry I cannot post the v6 as I am on a snow leopard computer now. But you go to the network tab, and choose off bridge mode for method of connection. It will be NAT and dhcp by default.
    Then setup wireless.. you have a number of choices here.
    Either setup with the same SSID Security and password, as the homehub uses.. or a different name, and password..
    Each method works fine.. but you sometimes have issues with wireless channels.. for now leave it on auto and see what happens.. if you have issues lock down the radio channels on both devices.. use one out of the following on each, 1, 6, 11 or 13 in UK.. so say 6 on the homehub then 13 onthe TC.
    Update the TC.. unplug fromt the computer and plug it into the homehub.
    If you have other issues with the setup tell us what OS you run so we can post suitable screenshots.

    As far as I know, Apple is free to choose to offer this or that feature.
    They never said that they want to clone Word or even compete with it.
    Differences between tables in both worlds are numerous.
    In Pages (or Numbers)
    - we can't sort a single column
    - we can't sort by row
    - we can't insert or remove a single cell
    - a cell can't cross pages boundaries

    Apple Human Interface Guidelines:
    Apply the 80 Percent Solution
    During the design process, if you discover problems with your product design, you might consider applying the 80 percent solution‚ that is, designing your software to meet the needs of at least 80 percent of your users. This type of design typically favors simpler, more elegant approaches to problems.
    If you try to design for the 20 percent of your target audience who are power users, your design may not be usable by the other 80 percent of users. Even though that smaller group of power users is likely to have good ideas for features, the majority of your user base may not think in the same way. Involving a broad range of users in your design process can help you find the 80 percent solution.

  • I have updated my Apple ID via my iPad, but my other devices still think the ID is the old one and I can't work out how to update them

    Yesterday, after discovering that the email address I used as my Apple ID was about to be deleted, I used my iPad to update my Apple ID to a new one.  Everything went fine, until I moved on to my iPhone, which is still asking me for the password for my OLD Apple ID.  I can't work out how to tell either my iPhone or my Macbook that this one is out of date and get them to change to the new one.  iTunes is changed, but the settings aren't.  Can anyone help me please?

    You haven't stuffed it, you just haven't signed out, so do that now, everywhere your old ID appears needs to be signed out of.
    Any variant of "Find My" (phone/mac/pad etc) that's signed in should be signed out.
    List what needs a sign out if you don't know how to.

          * Returns a char chosen randomly based on the contents of the multiset.
          * This operation does not remove the char from the multiset or change the
          * multiset in any way. In particular, the cardinality of the multiset is
          * the same before and after this method.
          * <p>
          * Characters should be returned with a random distribution equal to the
          * distribution of characters in the multiset. That is, for a character that
          * appears N times in a multiset of cardinality M, the probability of that
          * character being returned is N / M. For example, a multiset that contains
          * only the character 'a', possibly many times, would always result in an
          * 'a' being generated. On the other hand, a multiset with an equal number
          * of 'a' and 'b' elements would return an 'a' approximately half the time

For a breakdown of the lab go urlhttp://www.cse.ohio-state.edu/~paolo/teaching/494MJ/labs/lab8.shtml{url}. If you don't feel like reading that: THe program reads in some command line arguments. From there it reads from the file provided in the command line and creates "keys" from the specified length. From there I need to create a phrase of the specified length. If i am supposed to create more then one then i do. That is pretty much it. I can't figure out where (really why) the NullPointerException error is coming from.
    Help is appreciated!!

    Post the actual error text (copy and paste, don't "interpret" it) here.
    It should include a stack trace which references a line number of the program -
    unless you suppressed the trace, in which case change your error handling
    so that the trace is produced.
    Identify which program line in your post the error is pointing to so that we can match
    the error with your program, since your post doesn't have line numbers..

    Hi - I'm trying to sync iBooks on my Macbook Pro with iBooks running on my iPad. I have some pdf's download from the net I want to share between devices and I can't work out how to sync the two devices. Any help please? I'm running Mavericks

    Thanks for your help Brij011 - much appreciated. Apologies as I'm a newbie but I've looked at the info for synching and I appear to have all the switches flicked on my iPad. Does the iPad and iBooks only sync in iCloud for purchases as I appear to be doing something wrong. I could sync ok when books was in iTunes but since migrating to Mavericks I think I'm doing something wrong!!

    Acrobat XI is not distributed with Designer. Designer is now a separate product. You can create forms in Acrobat as an AcroForm or using Forms Central (an online forms program). You can print the form to a new PDF and then recreate the fields in Acrobat using the recognize form fields. You will likely have to fix the form fields, but that would be the process. Generally, once a form is taken to Designer, you can't bring it back without such steps.
    Designer is available with AA8 - AAX, but since is a separate product as I indicated.

    How about a few specific NOUNs to replace the vague references you have made. A little context.
