Siri doesn't know where I live?

The 'my info' setting for Siri is tied to my contact details, which includes my home address, in full, including post code, with all entries in the correct fields, yet Siri doesn't know where home is. Any ideas?

This is a problem with iOS6 mapping data. Try taking the last two letters off your UK postcode. Then it works (provided you have location services enabled in your settings). This is particularly annoying if you want to use Siri to take you to an address in your contacts.
This is an example of when an update isn't an improvement.

When i ask Siri to remind me of something when i leave home, it says it doesn't know where i live. How do i set it so it knows my address?

I too had the same problems as everyone else on here but I've sussed it out how to do it. Go on google maps on your phone and find your home or work etc on the map. Now on your home press your finger on the screen and it drops a pin with a blue arrow.
Click on the blue arrow
click on add to contacts
click on add to existing contact
find your own contact details and click on it
your details open up with the address you dropped the pin on now in your address field.
click on edit at the top right hand side of the screen
now scroll down to the address and click on the address description at the side of the listed address and select either home, work other or add custom label.
The custom label is good for anything else you need to name. I have all our branches now listed under say, wolverhampton brach, telford branch etc. This way I can get siri to remind me where ever I want to go such as " remind me to get my tools back when i get to the "wolverhampton branch". Works 100% every time this way.

Siri doesn't know my current location

When I ask Siri where some place is, it says that it doesn't know my location. What settings do I use to set that up?

Do you have Location turned on ins Settings>Privacy?
If you go to the Maps does it show the iPods correct location?
DId it work before at this location?
Does it work OK at another location/network?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. You do not have to be connected to the network/router to use that router's location. Thus, it could be that the iPod can't see a nearby router that is in Apple's database. Apple continuously updated their database based on info they obtain from iPhones. No one has been able to find a way to inform Apple of a router or correct is location.

How come 4620 jetpack doesn't know where it is?

Went from a 3G dongle in a BR1000 router to the 4G jetpack... In doing this, apps like four square no longer work, weather and other apps can't locate my location. Why is this? Using it as hotspot with iPads and desktop. This is my only net access as I live in rural area with no cable or dsl available here.
Speed so far is incredible. 20 even 30mbps, doesn't seem to drop out like my 3G did. Only problem, went from unlimited to 5gb, used limit in 24 hrs. Upgraded to 10gb... And dunno where I'm currently at.
Akeem why nothing larger was available and they said because our customers never need more? So we don't offer anything larger. I said, weird aren't you in the business of selling data transfer.... Like I want mores and you don't offer more?
And more is usually a better value... Ie. 5gb for 50. And 10gb for 80. Why over 10 do I pay the 10 buck per gb of the smaller plan?
Should'nt going over a 10gb plan be 8.00 per GB. Or is that to logical?
If there is one thing I have learned... Verizon is anything but logical in their business practices.

Its important to know that 4G LTE capable devices reside on an entirely new network based on SIM card technology. The old GSM/3G only devices do not perform in the same way as the new ones do.
The best excuse for inconsistencies between the two is that the SIM card network hides behind something called a NAT firewall. In a nutshell this means that you are not provided a public IP address and external users/services will not be able to talk to your devices. Specifically, we all appear to have the same IP address when behind a NAT which makes it hard to pinpoint who is who from an outside/unapproved source.
For most general purposes NAT does not interfere with browsing, email or video content which is what most people like to do on the internet. Certain things like IP Security cameras, select VPN clients, XBox live and VoIP phones are known to have this same limitation on the new SIM card network.
There are no good/cheap work arounds to this limitation on LTE devices at this time.

ITunes doesn't know where all my tunes are

I keep my music on an external HD. WHich crapped out. So I copied the songs from the ipod to a new music folder on my computer's HD (making sure itunes knew where it was via preferences). Then when I got a new external HD I copied it all across and reset itunes preferences. But I still get a lot of those grey exclamation marks and the itunes question 'do you want to locate the file'. It seems the folder structures differ from external HD to internal HD. SO I tried 'consolidate library'. Now all I have is thousands and thousands of duplicates in each folder that I will definitely go bonkers if I have to clean them all out manually.
1. How to easily get rid of all those duplicates?
2. How to make the library file look for and find all the tunes that currently escape it?
HELP! I am going daft! Anyone with any ideas? My music is a mess. Luckily the pod is up to date. Should I just chuck everything away and go with what's on the pod?

i've had so many of these problems. i now know that the ITunes software just doesn't like changing file addresses, it basically can only 'remember' the original one. so, if you move your file from PC HD to EXT HD it just goes 'BLAAAH wots my name again'.
i've gotta be honest and say that i can only suggest, resetting all your music from the EXT HD. however, i've been in this situation as have others i've talked to, and although i don't know how, thngs have kinda righted themselves for no reason as i've been messing around......i know that sounds mad but i and others have commented on it.
now, i have learnt to download/rip automatically to the EXT HD, so that a lot of these problems are alleviated in the future.

InDesign CS 5.5 suddenly doesn't know where Arial is.

I rebooted this morning and now InDesign dosn't know that this computer has Arial on it. I'm running a demo of Suitcase Fusion 4 and Arial is activated. It appears that all Adobe CS apps are having this problem. All other apps can see Arial. Ideas?
One thing I noticed this morning when I rebooted was that I had to do a hard restart because 10.7 was hanging this morning. So when you do that, the computer automatically tries to start up where it what shut down from. In other words, since ID, AI and PS were all open when I forced the restart, then OSX wants to re-open all those apps. Since Suitcase was also open, it goes to open that. However, it opened Suitcase after those apps and I got an odd error in InDesign about how Suitcase was not currently open and it said to shut down, open Suitcase and then re-open InDesign. I did that thinking everything would be cool but apparently it's not. I activated a different font in Suitcase and InDesign see's that one now so it's kind of "half" working.
I also added Arial to users/system/fonts and Macintosh HD/System/Library/Fonts so that I could maybe bypass Suitcase if that was the problem but still nothing in InDesign or Illusrator. Thoughts?

You might be not shutting down the machine in the nights , most probably leaving in the Sleep mode.....

Siri doesn't know who I am

My wife and I use the same iCloud ID. We have two different iPhone 4S however. Siri keeps thinking that my wife is the owner of my iphone as well as her iPhone. Anyway to fix this problem? I didn't think that Siri would be tied to the apple ID associated with iCloud. I have to frequently go into settings and take my wife's name out of the My info box and put my name in.

I was dealing with the same thing. only the iCloud account is mine and it still thought I was my wife.

THe localisation used to be correct.
My PC knew I'm in bristol
but now it thinks I'm in Birmingham.

I found my location was weird when checking facebook account settings, it has a list of locations that have logged into your account - also one of the google services gives the same information. sorry I can't remember which service and I couldn't find it again when i looked earlier :noob:

Siri has forgotten where I live and work...

So I have my iPhone 4S and it's all working quite nicely. It's really useful to be able to ask the phone to do stuff that previously I had to faff with menus.
But probably the best feature for me is the ability to set a reminder but the location reminders just refuse to be set by Siri.
I say "Where do I live?" or "Where do I work?" and Siri shows me my home and work addresses.
I say "Remind me to talk to Michael when I get to work." and Siri responds with "What time would you like me to remind you? (by the way, I don't know where your office is.)"
So which is it Siri - do you know where I work or don't you?
Anyone else having trouble with tihs - I'm in the UK and using British English.

I'm in the exact same boat. It shows me both addresses instead of the one that I'm asking about and when I try to set up reminders, it tells me that it doesn't know where my office is. I'm in the US, using US english. I do not own a Mac, so I can't do the fix that some people on the forums have recommended by going into your Mac Address Book and changing the location, etc.

This sounds like an international issue? Although I can not see why? I brought my phone in Australia and operating it in Indonesia, I have the same issues.... Otherwise Siri works fine, even texting (SMS) to local numbers siri works well, but dialing local number it just wont work...! I will try using my Australian SIM card and see if that is the reason.. I tried changing the number in the contacts and took out the international prefix, I turned the international assist on and off still nothing.. How frustrating. I called apple, the technican had know idea and we to his supervisor, had to wait fro 40 miuntes and then I hung up..

Siri can't work out where I live - can I show her manually in Maps?

When I ask Siri to remind me to do something "when I get home" she keeps telling me "I can remind you when you leave or arrive somewhere: here, home etc" but its never resolved. I've put my postcode in my contact details but I think that because I live in the middle of nowhere she's having trouble pin-pointing where I live. Are there any dialog boxes popping up behind your Yahoo screen?
I have intermittent problems attaching files in Yahoo mail and this is usually the reason. I'm also using an iMac (10.7.3) and this is likely the problem.
It is generally a Yahoo issue rather than a Mac problem.
