Siri for iPad 2 in iOS 6

Why can't apple get Siri  to iPad 2 ,seriously come on it has a A5chip and it is quiet powerful if an iPhone 4s can have it ,which still has a A5 chip?and in ios 6 they give the new iPad Siri and not iPad 2. I'm seriously I'm so disappointed with apple.i hope in future it comes or why not just in ios 6.0.

How does that even fly for a logical reason or explanation for this stupidity? You are absolutely right that a car built to have 260 horsepower will have no more than 260 horsepower. If the newer model is given 300 horse then by golly it will have 300 horsepower. You can choose to upgrade your engine in some way to get 300 horsepower at your expense. The same cannot be said about apple and their iproducts which can never be upgraded. Which is why I am completely confused about your comparison. The auto industry is a far stretch from a technology related company. Software upgrades are what people count on when they purchase a technology based product to keep their device going. A basic concept in computing. In other words, Apple's to oranges mon ami! When you purchase a product from a company that claims they are revolutionary, you read and you know that the products are capable in comparison to other products made by the same company and yet they consciously make garbage decisions like not allowing Siri on a device that is more than capable (iPad 2), then something is wrong with the relationship. A paying customer deserves and is surely entitled to a proper explanation from the manufacturer. That's what a consumer driven company is required to do. After all they are nothing without their isheep. They are responsible to their consumers just as they are to their shareholders and board members. It's simply a matter of principle.

is there really no fix for this?
It would depend on your definition of "Fix"
Your iPod touch running OS 4.2 has a ZOOM feature which will enable you to see the screen more clearly.
To turn Zoom on or off got to:
Settings > General > Accessibility > Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.
    _To Zoom in or out_:
Double-tap the screen with three fingers. By default, the screen is magnified 200 percent. If you manually change the magnification (by using the tap-and-drag gesture, described below), iPod touch automatically returns to that magnification when you zoom in by double-tapping with three fingers.
Increase magnification: With three fingers, tap and drag toward the top of the screen (to increase magnification) or toward the bottom of the screen (to decrease magnification). The tap-and-drag gesture is similar to a double-tap, except you don’t lift your fingers on the second tap—instead, drag your fingers on the screen. Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger.
    _Move around the screen_:
When zoomed in, drag or flick the screen with three fingers. Once you start dragging, you can drag with a single finger so that you can see more of the screen. Hold a single finger near the edge of the display to pan to that side of the screen image. Move your finger closer to the edge to pan more quickly. When you open a new screen, Zoom always goes to the top-middle of the screen.
    _Large Text_:
Large Text lets you make the text larger in alerts, and in Calendar, Contacts, Mail, Messages, and Notes. You can choose 20-point, 24-point, 32-point, 40-point, 48-point, or 56-point text.
Set the text size: In Settings, choose General > Accessibility, tap Large Text, then tap the text size you want.
I hope this has helped a little - other than this option I think it pretty much is what it is.
BTW - This information can be found on page 208 of the iPod Touch iOS 4.2 Users Guide.
    Best wishes..

  • Phone call function for Ipad mini & iOS update for Iphone 4

    Hi,
Why isn't apple doing phone call on the Ipad Mini. I understand being exclusive but i've been an apple user for over 2 years now and i like using apple products. I've notice samsung has incorporated these features in their Galaxy Tab 2. By doing so, Apple is loosing it's edge against its competitor. Hope that these funtion will be incorporated in the next iOS update.
On another note, why isn't siri included in the iOS 6.0.1 update for iphone 4. I'm not sure why android based phone could enjoy each of the new features that they release and apple can't do the same. I can understand from a business point of view but it will also affect customer's satisfaction. Appreciate if the team could consider giving the same treatment to all the apple products in terms of it's software updates and new features.
I'm not sure if the team is aware that apple products cost a BOMB in Malaysia. For an Iphone5 16GB, it's retail price is at RM 2,199.00 ( not inclusive of call & data plan ). Taking the cheapest call + data package from a telco provider could be as much as RM100/month ( RM1,200.00 per year ). The rational of changing an iphone is not appealing because of the huge cost.
As such, apprecaite that apple could at least extend all new features in it's iOS releases to all apple products.
    Thanks,

    Hi Andrey,
I think I have figured it out. It has to do with my iCloud account. After a lot of reasearch I found a bunch of people with the same problem, and the fix for now is to COMPLETELY DELETE your iCloud account. Simply turning everything off does not work. I immediately did this on my wife and my phones and everything went back to normal.
It appears to be a bug, because mine was only supposed to be updating my "notes" which shouldnt take 30 megs a day. Hope they fix it soon.

  • Is there ever going to be Siri for ipad 2, Is there ever going to be Siri for ipad 2

No way to know such a thing unless Siri or Apple announce.

  • How do you locate the download for iPad 1 ios 4.2?

A friend has determined we need version ios 4.2 to run a new printer for an iPad 1.  Documentation indicates to use iTines to download but we can not locate the software download.

Apple does not offer old versions of iOS. Only the most recent version, iOS 5 is available through iTunes.
    Here is a direct link to manually download the upgrade;
    http://appldnld.apple.com/iPad/061-9857.20101122.VGthy/iPad1,1_4.2.1_8C148_Resto re.ipsw
After you have downloaded the file connect your iPad to your computer and open the iTunes app on the computer. Select your iPad in the Devices list and right click over the Update button. Browse to where the file has been downloaded to your computer and select it. Hopefully iTunes can verify this upgrade for your iPad and install it for you.

  • Adobe Reader for iPad mini IOS 8.0 will not load???

Loaded, deleted, multiple times.  Restarted iPad multiple times.  Will not load.  Opens with blank screen, stays blank forever.

Here are a couple of things that you could try.
If you have iCloud backup before the iOS 8.0.2, you can restore the content of your iPad. See iCloud - Backup - Apple Support
You can completely uninstall and reinstall Adobe Reader for iOS.  Before you uninstall Reader, please be sure to make the backup of your PDF documents on your iPad.  How to backup and restore PDF documents on your iPad/iPhone using iTunes
As a last resort,  you could completely reset your iPad to factory settings.  Go to Settings > General > Reset, and tap Erase All Content and Settings.  Please note that you will lose all of your application data (including preferences) stored on your iPad if you do this.  But you can download and install all of your free & paid apps again.
If none of the above works, it could be a hardware problem with your iPad.  You may want to visit the Genius Bar at your nearby Apple Store.

  • Is there an Adobe version for iPad with iOS 5?

How can I get a version for an IPad first version with iOS 5?

Adobe is a company, not an app.
This forum is for Adobe Reader, the app from Adobe for viewing PDFs on an iPad or iPhone. It only supports iOS 6 or later.
If you search for PDF in the App Store, there may be other PDF readers which support iOS5 (that's a pretty old version).

  • HT201274 when are Apple going to supply a fix to connect to the for iPads using IOS 8

Cannot connect to the internet or icloud since downloading IOS 8

TThanks for that. Had to connect to another wifi source, connect to iCloud, turn off find my iPad. Did a reset and then reconnect to my usual wifi source. The reset worked I hope.
why do Apple not check potential problems through before issuing upgrades , as system only failed when I upgrad to IOS 8

  • Is there anything like Siri for iPad

I really want to speech to text option on my keyboard. Anyone found a work around.

    Two things.
Speech to text, give the dragon app a shot.  It works reasonably well for what it is.
As respects a Siri clone app, try evi.  This is a non apple attempt at Siri, and works fine, again, given what it is.
Neither of those apps integrates with other pad features.  Dragon will do a good job at speech to text, then you need to copy paste it to where you want it.  Evi finds web pages well.

  • Need picture Frame feature back for iPad running iOS 7

I am a wedding photographer. One of the main purposes of my iPad is to provide m clients same day iPad slideshows. I had been running iOS 5 on my ipad2 but upgraded to ios7. Previously I would use the picture frame feature to showcase images from the day. This feature allowed a slideshow to be left unattended and guests could  get into the iPad unless the pass code was entered. Now the picture frame icon is gone in ios7. I am left with the slideshow feature in photos. But if someone touches the screen  with that one, the show pauses and doesn't restart on its own. So I need the old picture frame functionality back.

That did not work, I went into the clock app, it has the weather in its map, and it's on englosh measurements. The notifaction center is still saying metric units, not English units.
    Any other ideas??? please help

  • IOS 6 for iPad 1, iOS 6 for iPad 1

Why is ios6 not available for first gen iPads?

Just found out about this as well, and i must say im very disapointed.
It is fine not to get new fancy features, but when i bought the iPad i was expecting more then a 2 year lifetime. What about browser and security upgrades, html 5, etc. this will make my device unusable very fast.
I was going to get an iPhone 5 for me and my wife, but know im not so sure. Maybe its time to change before getting too hooked on app store.
Really Apple, being the most expensive company in the world and you leave your customers hanging like this? The device is a closed device, which is both good and bad. But it means you are the only lifeline for us, so please support us.

  • Can they enable adobe flash for ipad in ios 6

    i need adobe flash!!!

Adobe has discontinued Flash on ALL mobile devices, including Android. There is no Flash that will work on a mobile device (other than a laptop).
Also, note that this forum is for the latest version of Mac OS X, and is not the right place to ask questions about iPads. There's a separate iPad forum.
