Siri wont call me by any other name

Sir will not call me by any other name than Will on my new iphone 5. Anytime i ask here to call me anything else whatever it may be she says "Sorry Will, i cant do that". why is this?

What name is Siri giving? Is this the name used in the primary contact?

Siri has stopped being able to call my office mobile when i ask it to. Previously have had no problems. It can call other contacts fine. My office mobile contact works if i find it manually and dial it. I have turned phone off and on. Any ideas?

found out that this is the problem with phone nubers format. my country isnt suported so siri wont call for me :P
think ill switch back to simple voice control untill apple change things.

Siri wont call people or search internet (im from UK), please help

Basically i got my new iphone at the weekend, all was working well, siri included. now when i say for example call hayley, it says: "calling hayley mobile....." and just stays there doing nothing, same as if i say search internet
All other functions seem to work meaning of life etc. I have done everything in the siri troubleshoot section, correct region/language set, linked it to me on contacts etc
any ideas?

Siri wont call contacts

I have read in other blogs that SIRI is having the same problem in several countries, i hae also noticed that i has somenthing to do witn the way siri recognizes the phone numbers EG. (xxx) xxxx-xxxx or xxxxxxxxxx (without any separation).
My question is if someone was able to solve this situation or not yet? if you did , how you did it

My 1 year old -- ha! one month out of warranty -- iPhone 4 has been having a nearly identical problem over the past few days.
It started by dying completely so I had the battery replaced, thinking it was simply battery issue.
It then worked again for a moment but started doing exactly what you describe, going through a reset cycle (longer than 30 seconds but who's counting). And it felt quite warm.
Did hard reset, plugged into wall charger and MBP USB but the new battery wouldn't even get a full charge (a whopping 92% after nearly two days). It would even lose battery when plugged in if I opened an app. And all the while plugged in, if I left the phone on, it would cycle through these resets. So I turned it off to try to charge it.
Now suddenly, it's dead again. Totally black, and hard reset does nothing. Up until two days ago there was nothing wrong whatsoever with this phone! And I hadn't even installed a new app that could be the root of the issue. No idea whatsoever what caused this.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

HT1535 i cannot get to a screen that says library and my IPOD only shows 1 song when there are many more. My IPOD does not show upas a adevisw under my, or any other name really ready to toss it out the door.

Strang pop up message and then iPod wont work or get any other sound

I got a new desktop and downloaded the new iTunes and then updated by iphone 3G-S and now I am getting this message popping up.
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone.
Would you like to turn on Airplane mode is reduce audio interference. You will not be able to make or receive phone calls."
I have no accessories besides apps and this occurs randomly when even nothing is running but seems worst when ipod or app is running. What is going on?

My lenovo e330 wont boot ubuntu or any other os on usb or external hd at startup

I tried to install linux/ubuntu off my external hard drive by rebooting on windows 8.1 e330. And it just turns blank after i select the drive to boot temporaily by pressing F12. I also tried to remove quick boot to diagnostics, checked legacy settings were made to run first and secure boot was disabled ithin bios. its a shame cause i cant clean install windows or any Linux OS. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated

You could use CCC to do a trimmed down clone and leave out most of the sub folders. Do a 2nd clone to have a full working copy.

My guess is one of your drives needs to be reinitialized. Only during format will the hidden partition blocks be tested, and of course a healthy set of partitions created, things that cannot be repaired normally - though Lion Recovery partition does have abilty to check the health of partition tables. And about the only reason I'd even buy Lion!

A font by any other name...

Working in Adobe Illustrator CS 11.0, with Mac OS 10.4.11.
When I choose a font, the font list appears with three types of icons next to the font name -- one looks like a the letter "T" (blue with a grey shadow), one looks like an italic "O", and the third looks like a red, lower-case "a". What are these three types?
Many of these fonts (the "a" type I believe) show up in the Ilustrator list and are usable, but do not show up in the MS Word or AppleWorks lists. Why is that?

T = TrueType font
0 = Opentype font
Word and Appleworks may not have support for Opentype fonts and it's entirely possible that many of the truetype fonts you have were grabbed from one of those "5-bazillion free font" sites and are constructed poorly.

Chain mail, hoaxes, jokes - spam by any other name

Just below spam I despise the glut of junk email we get. Chain emails 'send this stupid joke to everyone in your address book!', hoaxes, and stale internet jokes all are nearly as aggravating and prevalant as classic spam.
How about teaming up with Snopes.com and/or BreakTheChain.org to create a security service like anti-spam for this junk that promotes click-happy social engineering?
I have spent untold hours developing policies for these junk emails. I think it would be a great feature and one, if effective, I would gladly pay for!

I have started warning the senders of these emails, and after two warnings I bounce all emails back to them. I have a lot of keywords flagged and some are bounced on the spot. This has cut down tremendously on the junk we get. Also I think it is good to stop these senders as they are clearly the ones susceptible to social engineering exploitation.
I sent this as a feature request through my appliance and obviously they did not understand the problem from the response I got: "Actually I think IronPort has already created a proprietary solutions for detecting spam."
Anyone who has this problem please send this as a feature request to Ironport. I think it is an overlooked problem that would prove beneficial to all to address.

I'm asking, in all seriousness, why do you think your mother needs an iPhone? Honestly, if your mother is, as you described her, a technophobe, I would recommend against getting an iPhone or any other smartphone. I've spent a fair bit of time teaching older folks to use smartphones. If they are interested in learning, it's fine. If they have the phone because their kids or grandkids thought it was a good idea but they are afraid of the phone or not interested in its features, it doesn't go well at all.
Many basic phones have voice dialing. Obviously, it doesn't do all the things Siri does but it may be much less intimidating for your mom. Also, basic phones have hardware keys. Even someone with limited vision can learn the keyboard on such a phone. From the sound of your first post, all she will be doing is making phone calls.

I am having a really wierd issue as well that is probally related. I dont see 95% of the album artwork associated with my music. Also, it seems as if this has gotten worse since I started using that match feature
