Sirocco 8800 dying mid-call with almost full batte...

Hi all
I have a problem with my 8800 where it dies on me in the middle of a call even though the battery could have 5 or 6 bars out of 7 showing. Anyone else suffer(ed) a similar thing, and what can be done to fix it?
It's a little of random too; in fact I've seen the bars drop from 6 to just 1 as soon as I take a call, and had the beep and warning flash up that the battery was almost out of power throughout the call, only for the battery to bounce back up to 3 bars by the end of the call!
This issue happens with both my batteries.
Since the phone was brand new it has had a tendency to die when being rung or on a call with say say just 3 bars left. Now things are worse it seems I have to charge it everyday to ensure it's always on 7/7 bars. It's as if the phone initially uses a lot of power when it makes or receives a call, and battery can't cope.
For the record, I've had my silver Sirocco 8800 for almost a year now. It's been 're-flashed' at an approved Nokia centre at Xmas, and it gets used for approximately 200 mins and 150 texts a month.
Any thoughts welcome guys.

  • "Storage Almost Full" icon continuously pops up with almost full available storage on iphone 4. What does this mean?

I've had my Iphone 4 for almost two years. The "Storage Almost Full" icon started to pop up continuously just yesterday, and it hasn't stopped even after deleting almost everything off my phone. It also won't allow me to send messages, or completely clear conversations. And it says "cleaning" on my apps constantly and repeatedly to the same apps. I've tried restarting it, backing it up, restoring it, backing it up again and nothing has worked at all. Is there any way I can get rid of this problem without restoring my phone to it's factory settings and deleting everything? I have a lot of important notes, dates, and contacts that would take a ton of time to put back in, and I want to avoid doing that if I can. Help, please!

I was able to free up 4GB of space by deleting my email account. You can always add your email account again.
This method will delete all saved attachments and data in your iPhone's internal memory.

  • Droid Maxx will not make or receive calls with a full signal

My Droid Maxx has been doing this for the last week or two. It seems to only happen at night though. I have a full 4g LTE signal, however it changes from grey to blue constantly. I am able to text, search the web, or plain just do anything else...other than call out or receive a phone call.
When I try and call it just says dialing or retrying.
Has anyone else had this same issue? I have searched my phone for any time settings that may be keeping me from making or receiving calls during certain hours since this only happens at night when I am at work but have not found anything.

I received a replacement phone and I have duplicated the problem on it. The call problems occur only when Wifi is turned on AND this began AFTER the KitKat release was installed on the phone(s). I noticed a similar complaint in the forum and his timeline suggests that he might be having the same problem. How can I get this investigated?
    Thanks

  • MBP with almost full battery switches off if Magsafe removed.

I have an older MacbookPro (2.16ghz Intel Core, 17") . Its started behaving bizzarely today - with Magsafe connected, its shwoing a green light, and the battery is showing as 91% full, and not charging.
Checking the health settings on System Info shows its in pretty good shape.
The instant i remove the Magsafe connector, the Mac shuts off. No warning, just instant shut off.
I have reset the SMU following apples procedure of removing battery and power, holding power button for 5 secs before reconnecting everything and rebooting.
Nothing seems to have changed - the battery still refuses to charge and the Mac dies if the magsafe is removed.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
    or how to cure it?
    thanks

thanks, i'll have a look, but i've never noticed an option to prevent charging, or to switch off when magsafe is disconnected.
What do you think i should be looking for?

  • Calls have been dropping out mid-call (after initially working) with full reception since upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS5 (can hear them but they can't hear me).

Calls have been dropping out mid-call (after initially working) with full reception since upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS5 (can hear them but they can't hear me). The call initially works but then after a minute or so, they stop hearing me, even though I can hear them. Sometimes it goes the other way and I can't hear them.
Please advise how to remedy ASAP.

PS: I have had full reception bars when this has occured on a 3G network in Sydney, Australia (3 Mobile).

  • I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?

I have an iMac 5.1 with Mac OSX 10.6.8 and 2 GB memory and an L2 cache of 4 GB.   lately I have been receiving error messages of " start up disk almost full; please delete files." is the start up disk the same thing as the hard drive?  I opened the hard drive and from the column on the left of the menu I've selected "search for" and under that " all images" then "all documents"  I've deleted a few files from each. Are documents and images that I have deleted from here also deleted from the folders on my desktop?

You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Delete any other mail in your Junk folders. Also, look through your Sent Mail to see if there is anything that can be deleted.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
    Good Luck!

  • Why is my Macbook pro with OS lion prompting me my startup disk almost full when i have deleted many files, photos and videos? Even thrashing them doesn't help. There seems to be an automatic space usage in the background

I have deleted many unwanted files and apps and yet the available space keeps depleting every time i am using my Macbook Pro. I believe under the OS 10.7.4 one of the features is it backups or has backgrounding features which uses memory. Sometimes even when i hv 8GB space after using my Macbook Pro for say 2hrs surfing internet and using Pages which has a "Save Version" feature suddenly my 8GB goes down to 300+MB only and it starts prompting me "My Startup Disk is almost full" once it reaches 1GB space left. How can i get more space.... Please someone can help me? Do i need to re-format my hardisk??!! Any help out there is greatly appreciated.
My original HD is 320GB. And i don't hv too many Apps installed. I do have abt 50-70apps. I do have many photos and videos stored in iPhoto's Library though.

One thing I've noticed is that a shared tab pops up when I open the finder under "favorites" with a random connection. It's called hp68b... None of my friends that I live with have this and we all use the same internet. Two days ago when I would click it and click get info, it said it was a pc. When I checked it today it said it is a "sharepoint" and looks like a harddrive.
I took it too the store after i spilt water on it but when I got it back it ran perfectly fine. I don't know a lot about computer so if somebody could help me. It says I'm connected to it and I can't disconnect or delete it. I don't know if the guy at the computer store put something in my computer and is sharing all my files.

  • Problems with my storage is almost full with OTHER

I have a mac book pro about 2011, I have upgraded to lion and wanting to upgrade to Maverick. My storage however is almost full with, what apple calls other. What is Other and how can I either cleanup or find out what it is? I cannot seem to get rid of it and it keeps climbing. My music is about 4gb, Movies about 55gb, apps about 7gb, photos 15gb, and my back is sent to and external. NEED SOME HELP.
Did I click on some website that is giving me some virus.
    Any help is appreicated

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the Storage display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
    iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as  Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Reboot and it should go away.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
    Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install the app you downloaded in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
    sudo /Applications/GrandPerspective.app/Contents/MacOS/GrandPerspective
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

  • HT4410 I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7

Dear Apple. I have just installed Windows 7 64-bit full version Home Premium using Bootcamp and cannot get access to the internet. I installed on a Macbook Air Mid 2012 with Mountain Lion. Are there some drivers that are missing from the Windows 7 bootcamp install download from Apple

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.

    Hi,
I'm trying to change email address on my Apple ID since the email registered for the account has been hacked and I can't access it anymore. The email I want to change to is connected to another Apple ID I created about 4 years ago, though I successfully changed the email on that account as well. So the email I would like to use for my main Apple ID shouldn't be "locked" anymore.
Though, when trying to change the email on my Apple ID I get an error message (in Swedish, so this is a direct translate from google): "This e-mail address is your email address for notification. It can not be used as the Apple ID or primary email. Choose a different address."
I'm not really sure what this means or how I can fix this.
It means exactly what it says... The email Address is in Use. You cannot re-use it.

I received telling me that my icloud storage is almost full.  I need to upgrade my storage.  Can someone help me out with this.  I understand that the 20 GB is only .99 per month.  Just hoping this would be enough for me.  I back up 2 ipads and my iphone on the same computer.  Any help you can give me would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Okay.
I responded as I did because you wrote, "I have 2 ipads and my iphone that I back up on one computer"
    No worries here.
But hopefully you get/got it sorted.
    Any issues, post back.

  • HT1430 My iphone died suddenly with a full battery and it won't turn back on.

My iPhone 4 died suddenly with a full battery.  I have tried, multiple times, holding the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time for over 3 minutes.  I have even tried doing that with it plugged in, even though it had a full battery when it stopped working.  Any suggestions on what to try next?

Go through the restoring steps described here:
iPhone, iPad or iPod touch: Not responding or does not turn on
If that doesn't work, try recovery mode as described a little further down in the same article.

  • Weird: Can't Make or Receive Calls with Full Signals

Got an unusual one for you. For the most part, my iPhone has been excellent. Just about anywhere I go (in NY Metro area) I have had no problem making and receiving calls. The one major problem I have is that it does not seem to work at my desk at work. The wierd part is that I have FULL Antenna Signal and FULL EDGE signal at my desk (3rd floor of a 7 flr bldg) yet calls can not be sent or received. Incoming calls can not even be sent to voicemail, they are simply not connected at all (just two beeps after dialing). However, I do have internet access(although limited) and no text messaging ability. If I walk around the floor of the building and go closer to a window, the calls can go through, texting works and the internet is blazing. I called Apple who routed me to AT&T. ATT was so wrapped up in indicating that they do not guarantee reception indoors that I don't know if they really even considered whether it was a service issue or an iPhone issue. Either way the rep said that they have been dealing with this issue where full reception is identified but there is no service. They also indicated that the issue is predominantly found in large buildings. Any ideas on how to solve this??? Oh yeah, the guy in my office 8 ft away has Verizon with no phone calling problems at all. Thx 4 the help.

I went through the same with Verizon at my house. I had been a Verizon subscriber for my personal cell phone since the summer of 2001 until 3-4 months prior to the iPhone being released. While a close friend of mine was visiting for a few days who is an AT&T subscriber, he had much better reception at my house - not 5 bars but much better than the 1 bar I had with Verizon. I contacted Verizon technical support who told me the very same - they are not responsible for reception inside any building - too many factors with building materials, etc. Verizon updated the software on my phone, replaced the battery, sent someone out to my house and neighborhood to check reception, gave me another phone to use as a test but at the end of the day, nothing changed so Verizon let me out of my contract with a year remaining without charging me the early contract termination fee. I use my personal cell phone in place of a landline so reception at my house is important. I have much better reception with AT&T at my house - both with my first subsidized phone and with my iPhone.
Somewhat different from your situation with having full reception but not being able to make calls but since this only occurs at your desk at work, I don't believe the problem lies with your iPhone. There is probably a Verizon subscriber that may have the same problem at another location in your building. There are differences between CDMA and GSM networks which probably has a factor in this. This is relative by provider depending on location. There are some areas that I frequent often where I have reception with my iPhone but I didn't with Verizon.
