Site changes not registering

help. iWeb won't update all the changes I make to my website. I've got a mobileMe account. it got some, but not all. "publish site changes" and "revert to saved" appear grayed out. never had trouble before. weird. Help?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What should be different on your page?
Have you cleared your browser's cache (CommandOptionE for Safari) and reloaded the page?
Are you using iWeb's build in FTP client? If so you might try publishing to a folder on the hard drive and using a 3rd party FTP client like the free Cyberduck to upload the files. This tutorial gives some tips on that: Old Toad's Tutorial #2 - Uploading only those published new or newly edited files when using a 3rd party FTP client.

publish site changes not plublishing. I updated 4 pages and saved each page, then I clicked on "publish" and left it overnight. the next morning I checked the status and the site had not updated. I review apple community blog and follow "hughmass's" answer, Clear Cashe" and no update. Can anyone follow-up on my quandry?

First try the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

This is to clear out any old, damaged cache or preference file.
Now, try publishing your site to a folder on your hard drive and check to see if all updates are present. If so then the problem lies in the uploading of the files.
Are you hosting your site on MobileMe? If so try republishing the entire site by using the File ➙ Export Entire Site menu option.

the last few times I've tried to update my site, the Publish Site Changes function no longer seems to work - instead the whole site is created and published each time - taking a couple of hours. Has anyone else had this problem? The changes are pretty innocuous, but this has happened three or four times in a row now. Any ideas on how t fix it?

Other users have found that using Cyberduck or another 3rd party ftp client that can upload only changed files will work where iWeb fails. You'll have to publish your site to a folder on the hard drive and upload all of the files the first time. From then on, as long as you don't delete the contents of that folder, you can upload only the new or edited files.
Web Site Maestro will do the same and optimize your files for faster downloading as well.

I have iWeb '09, and when I make minor text and widget changes to pages and try to 'publish site changes' only to my hosted site...some changes make it and others don't. For example, I added an RSS subscribe widget and made some text formatting changes, and added a logo with hyperlink.
Everything made the upload but the text formatting & text addition changes. Do I have to publish the entire site again to get all these changes loaded? Why doesn't the software work like it's supposed to?

Editing the master page of My Site - Changes not visible to all users

Hi!
I opened the mysite.mydomain.com site on my SP designer and made some changes in a master page located in the Master Pages library. I checked in the changes and now I can see them when I open the site on my browser.
But only when I use the account that made the changes using the designer.
How can I propagate these changes to be visible to all my users?
Publishing features in are enabled already.

I forgot about that part! Actually I don't see this option in the designer. I had to go to the browser to do it. Anyway, now it works! Thanks!

Jsp changes not registering

I am trying to customize the look on my iFS pages. I have made simple html and text changes. However these changes are not being implemented as I still get the old login.jsp page.
I have tried deleting the compiled pages at
9ifs/ifsjsps/_ifs/_files/_ifs/_webui/_jsps
to force a recompile but it still displays the old login.jsp. Please advice.

Well, apparently not...I have been updating the jsps under root/ifs/webui/jsps/ . This is what I was previously doing and when it did not work I went ahead and deleted the compiled pages at root/ifsjsps/_ifs/_files/_ifs/_webui/_jsps. The pages are recompiled but the changes are not implemented...any ideas on this, it is really a pain as I cannot do anything and have tried all possible solutions..Thanks.

I am running iWeb version 3.0.4 (601) and Mac OS 10.7.1.

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
NOTE: If you repair disk permissions with Disk Utility on your boot drive you will have to rerun the script with Terminal to make the Library folder visible again.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
Just launch the applicaiton, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.

PDF properties (meta tags) can't be changed (error 0x80040154 - class not registered)

Hello,
Changing PDF properties (meta tags: author, title, comment, theme etc) in Adobe Reader as well as in Windows Explorer are disabled rsp does not funtion.
1. In Adobe Reader "File properties", the overwriting rsp insertion of text is disabled in grey.
2. In Windows Explorer, following message window appears: "Properties change: Due to an unexpected error, properties can't be changed - Error 0x80040154: class not registered"
(Sorry for the bad translation, but I am running the German version)
Is there a technical explanation and solution for this problem? In other PDF programms, the change of meta data does work fine.

@MadEyes: I found out you had to set a site address in wordpress the hard way, i set it for a dns host and I couldn't get into the wp-admin page or load any sort of image or css.
At the moment i have a server root directory with a wordpress folder on it. Eg:
(/srv/http)/wp/
and a test index file in the root. Eg:
(/srv/http)/index.html
The index file doesn't show up publicly, but it will on the local network.
I set the apache port back to 61669 and tested with canyouseeme.org. I got (i will email you the ip addy):
Success: I can see your service on X.X.X.X on port (61669) >EDIT: If I close apache, then it fails. Start it back up, it succeeds.
Your ISP is not blocking port 61669
I also nmap'd myself and got this:

Why exactly do you care if it is registered?
Is there some issue with the device?

Firefox devs are total ditzes.. firefox wont intstall, hassel to register from site, things not working as they should.

1) Firefox will not upgrade or install. During the install process a window pops up asking me to choose between ADMINISTRATOR or CURRENT USER. Does not matter which radio button I select, the popup goes away, the install process just quits. Have unininstalled, used Ccleaner, done every possible thing.
2) Firefox does not seem to recognize basic html code. Cannot use firefox when creating a site, because it will not even recognize the basic command for a non scrolling background, I have to check my site pages with Microsoft IE... oh my gosh. Microsoft? Really? Back to that?
3) Had a horrible time registering on the support site. No register button. Finally figured out how to do this using sync
( datamining up there on the highly accessible cloud for the govt and anyone who wants to see our files? Not me, no thank you!) I digress. After finally registering & confirming email, I go to sign in and it tells me it cannot sign me in because of invalid user name or password... really? Looks like my favorite old standby browser will no longer be used.

Additional information - according to the wiki you pointed me to, it was correct to uninstall flash using Windows control panel. I am very sure that I already had the latest version installed from the beginning, because Flash player pointed me to an update on Windows start (as usual) several days ago.
The error clearly lies with FF, since despite an up to date Flash player it decided it wants it new - something to do with the blacklist? How can it tell, that its outdated, if it does not find it and not show it in the list of plugins?
There is something fishy here...

How can i made changes in a site at that way that other sites do not change automatically

when i change a site (index.html), all the other (sub)sites change also with the same settings. how can i made changes in, for example index.html so that other (sub)sites do not change?
i see that the file extension is .css when i make an new site. then i save the site to index.html and the other sites changes also when i made changes in index.html (i mean the settings)

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but it sounds like you are making changes to a cascading stylesheet (a .css file) that is shared by several pages on your site, but ony want to make the change to the style on the home page.
You can do this by adding inline css to the home page elements you want to be styled differently from the rest of your site.
An example of an inline css definition would be something like this...
<div id="content" style="background-color:blue;">
In the above example, the div would be styled using whatever you have written for the #content id in your css. It would also then overwrite any background-color declared in the external .css file with the style attribute to make the background blue.

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Inter-Site Change Notification Not Working

I made the change in ADSIEDIT to enable Inter-site change notification after adding a second AD site on our domain.
The domain level and the old domain controllers in the main site are Server 2008 and the new domain controller for the new site is 2012 R2.
I tested it by adding and deleting users on a domain controller and checking that the users were added or deleted on the domain controller at the other site. It seemed to be working fine with that test. I could see the change within seconds.
However, I noticed that group membership changes and account lockout status are not updating quickly between sites.
I went back to ADSIEdit and saw that the "1" that I had entered in options a few days earlier was gone and it shows <not set> again.
I put the 1 back in and then when to a different domain controller and it still shows not set there.
What needs to be done to make sure that these changes stick and replicate between sites?

Account Lockout attributes such as PwdBadCount and BadPasswordTime are NONE replicated attributes and should contain unique values on each DC, so they might not be the best to verify change-notifications against, moreover not all group memberships
are replicated to a DC if it's not GC in a multi-domain environment.
Do you have any manual connection objects (e.g.) not managed by the KCC? If so those needs to be changed back to be managed by the KCC if the change-notification option should be automatically propagated down from the site link, or either you have to enable
change-notifications manually as well on those connection objects, have a look at:

My Sites database status changed to "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded."

We have a brand new SharePoint 2013 farm which we just put into production. As users have begun creating their My Sites, the My Sites web application database changed to a status of "Database is up to date, but some sites are not completely upgraded."
Huh?
Prior to deploying to production, we had some test users that had created My Sites, and everything was fine. The database status was "No action required".
Anyone know why the creation of My Sites would cause the database status to flip to this warning?

First of all, to identify what site collection doesn't got upgraded.
 Run: stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus > upgradestatus.txt
or
PSConfig.exe -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -force -cmd applicationcontent -install -cmd installfeatures (Run from one of the WFE server)
In below as you see, there no site collection that need upgrade. If you have any, you can identify
them by searching by word "Needs upgrade" in this file.
Secondly, run the command in the Power Shell:
For resuming the upgrade, you’ll need the ID for the database :
Get-SPContentDatabase -Identity <your content database name>
When you got the GUID for the database you can then resume the upgrade
 upgrade-spcontentdatabase -id <database
GUID>
Finally, check the upgrade status by running stsadm again:
stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus > upgradestatus.

I saw your website the page is named just welcome and it appears as welcome on google search.
The title of your webpage just needs to be changed and nothing else.A Title of your web page is what appears on google findings and it is the title that appears on the top most bar of browser window. On the top most bar of browser is written apple - support. and this is what will appear on google findings. 'Apple - support'
If you know HTML, just change the title.
I dont know but I think Google takes about less than 2 days to find your site thruugh its robots maybe even faster. My site appeared as i checked it - after two days and i didnt go and list it in addyoururl.
