Site for Greenscreen Tips & More

Robodog just posted this LINK to a site dedicated to all things greenscreen. Might be of interest to anyone contemplating shooting greenscreen.
One trick that they mention is shooting the standing greenscreen actor "vertically," to utilize all of the sensor. This will fill the Frame with the actor better, but obviously, the footage will need to be Rotated for use in post production.
Hope that some find this of interest,
Hunt

  • Great site for greenscreen and FX and tutorials

    Hi
This is a cool place for some greenscreen related stuff to play around with...
Looks like thier courses would be good...

ps. Some info there about simply increasing resolution a little by tilting camera sideways to fill the frame with someone standing --- on a 16:9 par
similar to tilting a still camera frame to accomodate your subject matter....with greenscreen you can treat the motion picture camera ( or video ) in the same way you treat the still camera.

You would think this stuff would be fairly straightforward and easy....
Here's a sample of some text from the green screen sample files ( link in prev mssg )
This first plate is your average matchmoving test shot.   The plate is nice and wide, so we don't need a lot of markers, and it's an   easy matchmove.
ISSUES: The green screen is a bit uneven,   but this is just a test and we didn't light for it.
TRY THIS: You should be able to get the   girl to stand rock solidly on a 3D floor without having to doctor the   matchmove at all. Markers always need some compositing work. See if you can   do two keyers, one that makes the girl look good, and one that crunches out   the markers, and crossfade between them with a garbage matte (see more here).

Sheesh...  I don't mind saying that I'm biting off more than I can chew sometimes...  especially as the above text leads to yet MORE programs than I currently own ( Maya for example is somewhere around $3000 ? )  and then there's Project Messiah and I can't tell you how many different programs...
Here's a sample of a simple workflow from a little video with some rotoscoping and so on....  link to video and then simple description of workflow...

    - All the footage was 3D tracked and stabilised in Syntheyes.
    - Camera data was imported into Project Messiah as LWS files and backgrounds were rendered.
    - Each frame was then hand rotoscoped in After Effects and layed over the CG backgrounds from PM.
    - It was then Colour Corrected in Sony Vegas
Well, I don't mind saying that this is worse than owning a SAILBOAT when it comes to throwing money around !  Not to mention learning how to do all these things ....
OK, no more complaining...but I just had to blow off some steam because I'm floundering around in front of my computer, looking very much like a Bass out of water, with bulging eyes and gasping mouth !

  • Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. Please help!

Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. I don't get a spinning ball, it just stops working at whatever page it's on. I can close the program just fine but when I re-open it, either safari or firefox, it freezes trying to load the hompage. This started a few days ago after trying to stream a movie on my computer. I'm on a Mac Air OS X Version 10.6.8 and have downloaded all updates. When I go into finder, it says I have over 80 gigs available. Is there some other memory cache that I need to check? Thanks so much for your help.

It's not a router problem as I explained in my post. If it was a router problem then I wouldn't have the problem everywhere I go. It is an issue with the software.
Then I guess the millions of people running 10.5.7 with no issues are just hallucinating that their machines are working fine?
I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)
The single best diagnostic you could do is take your system running 10.5.7 to an Apple Store, and try using their in-store network.
If your machine performs flawlessly, it may be a router issue.
If your machine has connectivity issues there, it may be a hardware problem with your machine.
There have been numerous people in multiple threads over the years who swore that an update was buggy because things used to work, but returned later to sheepishly admit that they took their machine in, a problem was found and fixed, and now their Mac works flawlessly with the newer software.
But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3."

  • Do third party replacement tips fit on the apple in ear headphones? I prefer foam tips as they block out much more sound, but I'm not sure if Apple use the standard fitting for headphone tips!?!?!?!

Do third party replacement tips fit on the apple in ear headphones? I prefer foam tips as they block out much more sound, but I'm not sure if Apple use the standard fitting for headphone tips!?!?!?!

Answer found. Please find below an amazon review explicitly mentioning adding third party foam tips. Sounds like they fit and work like a dream:
"As a audio engineer, I own about a dozen different sets of earphones and in-ear 'phones. My favorite, by far, are my sure SE530s. I have some Sennheiser cx400s which are good workhorses, but lack the finesse, clarity and stunning accuracy of the Shures. For convenience, I bought the Apple's, as I wanted something I could use with the phone for calls.
I found the sound to be quite clear and beautifully clean, but like many, no matter how I tried, the stock Apple tips never made a good seal. The seal is absolutely essential to getting bass out of a balanced armature design. For you non-engineers, just trust me that if you don't have a proper seal, you will have no bass.
In my case, I think the trouble had to do with the largest size being a tiny bit too small, and the silicon being too rigid, yet slick, so they left small airgaps and were easy to remove. I tried using some foam tips from a third party, but their large was more of a medium, and never came close to a snug fit.
As an experiment, I dug around in my ear-tips from my Shure's and tried their rubber tips which are about the same size as Apple's large tips, but made of a more pliant and slightly sticky rubber.
OMG, what a transformation. Suddenly the sound blossomed, the bass became rich and well balanced, and the "top-heavy" sound was totally mellowed into a rich, well balanced and incredibly detailed presentation.
Make no mistake, these are the best 'phones under $200 I have ever heard. The bass is deep and warm, very detailed, and totally lacking fuzz or buzz that I can hear in the Sennheiser set. Look at getting tips from a better headphone. The trick is it has to have a soft rubber base that can expand over Apple's slightly larger stub. Some tips, like the Shure foam tips, have a rigid plastic sleave in the tip to keep it's position correct, and these won't expand over the larger Apple posts."

  • OTM - to provide more than one Supplier pay site for a given supplier

    Hi Experts,
We're currently on OTM (Oracle Transport Management) version 5.5 and our Oracle Financial is on 11i. When our business receives invoices from carriers, we entered the invoices in the OTM system manually. When invoices are interfaced into our Oracle Financial system, the default supplier pay site information is derived using the supplier number and purchasing site information. Our current setup now has one supplier with one default supplier pay site. We are now seeing carrier with more than one remit-to address - we need to provide the capability of having more than more pay site for a supplier.
If your company has encountered this business problem, I would love to hear what approach did you use to solve this business issue.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Try a Reset...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.

  • Looking for iTunes Tips and Tricks (Windows)

    Hi, Everyone,
Two weeks ago, I found out about CoverFlow in iTunes, and I am sold. Although I have had iTunes installed on my computer for years, I have only used it to transfer music to my iPod Nano - until I saw CoverFlaw and finally decided to switch from Winamp, which I have been using exclusively since March of 1998, to iTunes.
I have spent hours reading the Help file of iTunes and spent even more hours looking online for iTunes tips, tricks, and tweaks, but cannot seem to find too many of these for Windows iTunes. Can anyone recommend Web sites (or forum posts) that have these. Also, if you'd like to post some in this thread, I would greatly appreciate it as well.
    Thank you,
    Victor Ly

  • Creating a site for mobile devices

    Good morning,
I have a number of questions relating to the creation of a
site for mobile devices. My client has given me the assignment to
re-design his current website, and to also create a sub-site
suitable for mobiles. I have spent a number of hours looking around
on the Internet and trying to gain a better understanding of these
issues. Still, a number of questions remain. if you can give me any
additional understanding, that would be great.
    Question 1:
Is my understanding correct: I basically need to create two
sites, one for the wide-screen browser, and one for the mobile
browser? I can direct visitors to the mobile site using a CSS or
javascript link - if their browser identifies them as a mobile
    browser?
    Question 2
Mobile devices come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and
versions. PDA\s and iPhone's have different screensizes and
resolutions that smart--phones, which in turn are different again
from older and simpler phones. Should I design a site for a number
of different types of phones? That would a huge amount of work...
    Question 3
I also own Device Central, an App which I should think is
very useful in this situation. But I fail to understand it! OK, so
I can see what my photo or website or flash file looks like on my
Nokia N73 - but I am not designing specifically for that phone. I
also want my design to look good on all the other phones! My client
needs a website that is not tailored to one phone, but to all
    phones.
    Question 4
And why does Device Central not have profiles for the iPhone?
I would think it is popular enough to warrant its own profile... (I
post this from the Netherlands, where the iPhone is not carried
yet, and so I have only ever held one in my hand). Is this because
the iphone can see regular sites just fine?
    Question 5
How does Dreamweaver help me build a mobile site?
    Question 6
My client wants to show video on his website. In fact, that's
what this website is all about: showing sports-videos from high
profile sporting events. Which video-formats are most suitable?
    Question 7
Do all mobile phones support flash? Or only a few? Or none?
It seems to me that a flash website would allow for more creativity
    in the design.
Thanks for any help you can give. Any resources you could
point me to are also very welcome...
    Sincerely,
    Rogier Bos

  • Configure a sharepoint 2013 site for external and internal access

I need to configure a local install of sharepoint 2013 so that users can access it internally and externally using windows/AD authentication. The internal and external addresses are different.
I have bound an external ip to the domain for external access.
I have created Alternate Access mapping, and bound the host header but I get a file not found message for external access.
Have I missed something here? why the error and how can it be fixed. Step by step process would be appreciated.

    Hi Luis,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when accessing the site externally.
The most common cause for this is that the IIS host header is configured incorrectly. The 404 will appear because we are hitting a different IIS web site and not the one we are intended to.
Here is a similar issue for you to take a look:

  • Implementing Sites for a new Single Domain Environment and effects on Exchange

Copied from the Active Directory forums as the suggestion of replies.
I didn't find exactly what I was looking for so decided to create my own question to get some direct feedback.
Currently we have a single domain environment with two domain controllers located at two separate sites. When the domain was first set up, no configuration was done in the Sites and Services module for Active Directory. The two domain controllers we have are
currently located in the Default-First-Site-Name container. We do not have any subnets configured with the Sites and Services module.
These two domain controllers are located at two different sites with different IP schemes and the sites are connected with a high speed site-to-site VPN. We also have 2 satellite offices with their own IP schemes as well with more offices to come. In the future
domain controllers will be placed at these satellite offices which are connected with a slower site-to-site VPN to the main offices.
All replication and network functions are working well now, but I would like to know what the effects would be and what to watch out for if I create sites for our environment. I am particularly concerned about our Exchange 2010 server and need to make sure
that the change will not disrupt communications between it and the domain controllers.
I would like to create a site for each of our locations and link the subnet to that site now so that when we install the domain controllers the configuration is ready.
Any suggestions or input is highly appreciated thank you in advance.

Exchange will be an issue only if your Exchange servers span sites when your new Windows sites are created.  If you have Exchange servers all in a single location, adding sites to your Windows forest will cause no issues.  However, if you have
Exchange servers in both locations, as soon as a new site is defined for an Exchange server in a separate location from your other Exchange servers, you will start having issues.  Let me give some examples so you can see what problems might occur:
Two datacenters, one Windows site, Exchange mailbox servers in both locations (primary and DR), but hub and CAS roles only in the primary datacenter:
In this situation, as soon as your second site is defined, the server in the DR datacenter will no longer be receiving mail - there is no hub to deliver it - and users will no longer be able to access their mailboxes - there is no CAS to support them.
Solution:  Add hub and CAS to second datacenter and all is well with the world.
Two datacenters, one Windows site, Exchange multirole servers in both locations (primary and DR), but CAS Array defined:
Now we have a little bit better setup, since we have all roles in both locations.  However, the CAS array in the primary site isn't going to be able to support your client connections in the DR site - so users will be connecting directly to the CAS
servers in the DR site (not optimum).  Solution:  Define a second CAS array for the DR site, with its own load balancer and configure the databases in your DR location to use that CAS array as the RPC Client Access Server.
There are other oddities, but as you can see, there will definitely be issues if your Exchange servers aren't all in the same location and you start defining Windows sites ...

  • Multiple sites for different geographic areas

i did a website for a letting agency in glasgow (
    http://www.youlet.co.uk ) but
now the company has decided to open up an extra branch in
cambridge. iv optimised the original site and it appears in top 4
under certain optimised key phrases in msn and yahoo. iv been asked
to make a duplicate site for the cambridge office. now obviously
pages like the property search will have different content but more
informative pages like the home, about pages will be practicaly
identical other than changing all text references and keywords to
    contain cambridge instead of glasgow.
so as not to mess with the ranking of the existing site, i
was going to put that whole site into a subdomain like
website/glasgow, do the same with the cambridge version then have
an index page on the main site linking off to the 2 sites.
what i wanted to ask was by doing this subdomain idea will
this allow each site to be treated as a site in its own right and
allow the glasgow veriosn to get back to where it was in the
rankings with it getting ignored as it is a subsdomain?
and also because the glasgow and cambridge sites will be
mostly identical apart from references to the location will this
count as being duplicate sites and count as spam?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. When publishing multiple sites to to a MobileMe account the last published site will be accessible via the simple URL: http://web.me.com/youraccountname/
However each site has it's own URL which would be:
    http://web.me.com/youraccount_name/sitename
So you need to tack on the site name at the end of the simple URL.
For what it's worth I use iWebSites to manage over 40 individual sites.. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want. It's something you might want to take a look at.

  • I created a site for a client...

I designed a site for a guy who loved music, wanted to own a Hiphop News Site.
So I we talked about it for a day or so, and He insist that he pay everything upfront 100%
After about a 5 day wait, It was nearly done.
Looked good, but when I asked if he had any social networking ( Facebook, Twitter, Instagram account for the Hiphop News Site ) he told me he didn't want any.
So I pressed forward and got it done in three more days.
On the day it was done, He sent me a Facebook message and said " I want News, Music, Albums, Videos, and a Home page instead of the original five pages, and get it done by tomorrow " As I told him a whole new site change were to take at least a week, He stopped replying, but I sent it to him via email.
I messaged him over Facebook and asked him to chest his email, and he never replied.
I now have about two weeks worth of site work under my belt, A domain under my name ( Its in my list of domains I own ), A professional email account that Im paging out of my pocket for monthly, and still no word from the guy, AT ALL.
Id like to redo it to someone else's standards ( If you ask me its a pour site due to the guy being so simple and demanding, not wanting to do anything good with it ) and sell it to them, but Im not sure if I legally can.
If you were in my spot ( Considering you're a great guy / lady, I already know a lot of Adobe people who reply are actually AMAZING people! ) What would you do?

He could be on vacation, ill or worse.  You don't know.  If you're in a rush, send him a certified letter (return signature/receipt requested) with a reasonable deadline for project completion. After which you quit the project and stop paying for things like e-mail accounts, etc...

I'm looking for a site with really good, up to date Flash tutorials. I have a membership to Lynda, but I'm looking more for short tutorials on things like text effects and feature focused tutorials.
