Site hierarchy

Hi all,
i wanna extract site hierarchy from IS-retail 5.0 to BI. but i am facing a problem of site field length. In the standard extract structure for plant hierarchy , the field length of site is 4 and in R/3 site hierarchy is created for customer of site but not exactly for the site e.g. site is 3025 then hierarchy will be created for customer of site i.e.C3025 ( which is having field length 10 ). so after extraction in BI it;s showing only C302 instead of complete length , is there any way to get comlete site name in BI.

Unable to create site hierarchy for any variation label

I am unable to create a site hierarchy for our source variation and any subsequent variation labels we setup. The error when trying to do so is:
“An error was encountered performing this operation.
You may re-try the operation, and you may need to clean up the half-created data first before re-trying. If the problem persists, please contact your system administrator. “
We have a test farm which didn't have this problem.
Any help gratefully received.

This exception totally amazes me because I thought from WSS 3.0/MOSS 2007 onwards all Web Parts could be derived from System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts.WebPart. So does this mean I will have to change all of them?

Hierarchy level for Site hierarchy idoen't load in BI

Hi gurus,
I have created a new hierarchy level for Site hierarchy in transaction CL01 in R/3. But this level is not load in BI.
Site hierarchy and other levels load right, but no the new one.
Do you now anything to resolve my issue?

"x" in Site Hierarchy but dont have error

In my SCCM 2012 R2 the "Monitoring/Site Hierarchy" show error in communication between primary and secondary sites and when i open the status error messages dont have any error message. See:

Or as Torsten said, you can click on Database Replication and right click on one of the broken link and select
Replication Link Analyzer.

Idoc message for distributing site groups/site hierarchy in retail env

Hi,
I am trying to distribute site group data (hierarchy: brand, territory, region, district, site) using an idoc. Does anyone know what idoc message/type I could use to do this?

Hi Bhoopal,
Go to Tcode WE19 and enter the Failed Idoc number(can be seen in WE02)
Go to Segment E1WPB04 and Double click on it you will see the Tax code and Tax Amount displayed.Change the Tax code as per what you have maintained in your Article master for eg : 0 - No Tax,1-Full Tax,2-Half tax etc.
Then Click on Standard Inbound and that should generate a new idoc and then check the status of the newly created Idoc whether it gets posted succesfully(With status 53)
NOTE : Make sure you used the correct currency since based on the country specific tax classification it might expect different tax rates(in case you maintained different tax rates based on the country)

Package Update on DP's in SCCM site Hierarchy

We have central site and couple of Primary sites ( SCCM 2007 R2)
I get confused sometime with adding DP to applications.
In our case the package (source files) are located on the the Central site server .
And all the packages are created on the central site. Once the package is created at central site -- the package afyer sometime shows up at the Primary sites.
However the DP is not added .
I then go to my Primary Site console and add our local DP to the package .
Does anyone know what happens if the Source files change in the package and i need to update the DP at my primary site .
I couldn't update the Package on the primary site as the option shows as greyed out.
Also what is the way i could update the Package from Central site , somehow it only lets me update all DP's and not let me chooose one the one i need to update the package on.

Do you mean you want to send the package to selected Distribution Points?
Have you tried the option "Manage Distribution Points" rather than "Update Distribution Points"

Site link failed

Hi All,
We have a client with one CAS & 4 primary sites (All the sites are SCCM 2012 R2) because of some maintenance work one of the primary site was down for few hours & now in site hierarchy the link shows as failed. when we hover over the link it
shows that the Global data replication between the CAS & the Primary site is failing.
What we have tried :-
1. Run the replication link analyzer - Its unable to resolve the issue & just shows the names of replication groups which are failing.
2. Run the SPdiagdrs command on primary site DB - This shows the Global replication groups which are failing & are not active.
3. Run the Update RCM_DRSInitilazationTracking set initializationstatus=7 where ReplicationGroup = "Group Name" - To reinitialize the replication.
4. configuration data.pub => Drop these on Primary server RCM.BOX - As mentioned
here. This solved the issue initially but the replication was failed again after some time.
5. rcmctrl.log on CAS shows this error :-

Search option or Query to search multiple Site collections?

Is there a Search or Portal site Hierarchy/ Structure option in SharePoint 2013 that would enable searching of specific and multiple Site collections (not Search all)?
We opened a ticket with Microsoft o365 and they said this is not possible without custom development and that search queries can't span multiple Site collections.
Is this true?

You can setup a custom Result Source that limits results to the paths (URLs) provided, then use this Result Source in a custom search page, CSWP, etc. Check this post for more info:

You can use the path restrictor to specify the URLs to limit the search to, IE: "path:http://yourdomain/site".

Sitestudio - find the path of a websitesection with site id and node id

Hi,
I am using Sitestudio 10gR4.
My Problem
-I have the siteId and the nodeId of a websitesection
-The websiteSection has the path start/oracle/tutorials
-The websiteSection has the idPath 01/30/35 (with id path I mean the {id of start}/{id of oracle}/{id of tutorials}
-This idPath is what I am looking for.
Is there a function for this? e.g. getIdPath(siteId, nodeId);
Do I have to make my own idoc function and read the information from the xml file in which the site hierarchy is stored?
What is the best way to solve this problem?

I tried it with 
The problem is that I get a path consisting of "URL Directory Names" instead of a path with the "Section IDs"
In Site Studio Designer I did set the "default link format" to ID based Url - Server Side wcmUrl format. Changing the "default link format" to another value doesn't change anything.
What can I do to get the path of a folder that consists of "Section IDs".

Copy site using "Site Contenct and Structure" fails

As as site administrator I'm trying to copy a site in a subsite to another subsite, but it fails with a stacktrace. The site is not copied.
I open the "Site Contenct a Struture" menu, I can see the site hierarchy, I locate the site, a drop down menu opens on the site in question, I choose "Copy" and find the target site to copy the source to. The process starts, but fails

Hi Henrik,
According to the error you encountered, please check if you enable usage data collection. If not, please enable it, then Restart IIS and SharePoint Timer job and then check if the error disappear. If its enabled already and still these IDs are logged into
event viewer, then disable that first, Restart IIS and SharePoint Timer job, enable them and Restart IIS and SharePoint Timer job again.
To enable the Usage Data Collection navigate Central Administration >> Monitoring >> Configure usage and health data collection >> Under Usage Data Collection check the box>> Under Health Data Collection check the Enable health data
collection box.

COPA: Region/site wise profitability

Dear Guru`s.
My client wan`t Region/site wise profitability. 1 Region consists of n number sites.Below is the Hierarchy:
Now, how can I map these region/site hierarchy in COPA.
Actual value flows:
Revenue is captured in two ways:
1. Within SAP
Through sd module ,I will map the condition types against value fields.
2. Out of SAP
Third party billing tool will give the data and same can be uploaded in SAP through KEFC t-code,but what should be the data I should receive from third party tool I`m a bit confused.
Cost:
Cost will be captured through FI within SAP and I`m clear in this.
Actually number of region are 15 and sites are 5000+.
Kindly guide me how to go ahead.

For revenue currently what my client follow 2 ways to capture it:
a. within SAP
b. out of sap
The revenue which is coming from Third party system to one common profit center through interface. They do this execution every week.
The revenue is updated to one common profit center with single journal.and from that common profit center it is divided to 1000+ sites(each site is created as profit center.)
Now, they want to directly upload this revenue data from third party tool to copa through KEFC.
My concern is this if we upload revenue data directly to COPA and do not do any FI postings then will my client will able to generate balance sheet? because if I create sites in copa and directly upload revenue to copa from third party tool then no fi entry is posted...
If I`m not able to explain my query then let me know , I`l try to explain it with more detail....

How to create site goup,

Hi,
To create Site Group : Logistics --> Retailing -->Site Master --> Grouping --> Promotion --> Create (WB60).
The small window popped up with three option : Customer, Site Grouping, Site Hierarchy. Select Site Grouping option and enter required data as per your requirement.
Assign Sites to Site Group: Logistics --> Retailing > Master Data> Site Data--> Grouping > Promotion> Maintaining Assignment -->Sites in a class (WB66).
Select Site Grouping as option. You will observe screen with button "Only New assignments". When you click on this button, select plant radio button and continue. Now, you can add respective site into site group.

Creating new site

I'm new to UCM/ Site Studio. I have the sample site installed which works fine, but when I use Site Studio to create a new site, the immediate error I get is:
Failed to create new site hierarchy "NewSite".
(Invalid metadata for 'SS_PROJECT_NewSite'. Virtual folder does not exist.)
What's going on here? I also tried to get around it by creating a different weblogic user project, but that gave Site Studio Is it just that buggy?

I did indeed go to Set Default Project Document Info, but going in there again the "Folder" value was blank. So I clicked "Browse", then selected no folder (just "OK") and then the folder value was set to "/". After I clicked Save it worked and I could create a new site.
So it works now, but this seems like a bug that I needed to click Browse and Ok for it to work...

Dynamic breadcrumbs in UCM + Site Studio

I have to develop site, in which there are many ways to get to the page, i.e. there is many site structures.
For example, I can get to "products" page with in 2 different ways:
root->about us->services->products
root->solutions->products
I need the breadcrumbs to display the actual path the user navigated to the "products" page.
One solution I see is to create two different sections for "products", but I do not like it.
Is there any other way to achieve this?

When you create a site in site studio as you described those are actually two different parts of the site hierarchy.
A->B->Products
A->Products
In this case these two products pages are different pages in the site hierarchy. Unless you are redirecting from one to the other somehow. Now, in both site nodes you can configure the same page template, with the same regions, content, etc., and effectively make the two site node pages look exactly the same. In that case the regular breadcrumbs would still accomplish what you want to of showing the two different paths (because it really IS two different path options).
Maybe I'm missing the point of the question, if so, I apologize!
