Site info not saved

I am using a trial version of Dreamweaver 9. I can create a
site and it appears in site manager. I can export the site to a
file. When I end the Dreamweaver program and restart it, there are
no sites shown in site manager. I can recreate the site or import
the exported file. Is this because it is a trial version? Where is
the site data saved?

What operating system?

  • Site definition not saved after closing DW

I moved my copy of DW to a new computer. I exported the site
definitions from the old computer and used the Import option in
Manage Sites to restore them on the new computer. It brought them
all over just fine. When I tried to update a site, though, it saved
it for the duration of the session then behaved as if it never
happened the next time I opened DW. This goes for site name
changes, FTP info, or anything. How can I fix this? Does it have to
do with a profile name? I have a different username on this new
computer if that has anything to do with it. Thanks

  • File Info not saving in PS

Upon entering File Info and saving the image in Photoshop, all metadata disappears. However, If I apply a metadata template in Bridge, the metadata stays. What may be causing the File Info to not save with the image in PS?
Usig Bridge would be okay, however, I want to create layered images and keep all the metadata. If I attempt to do so in PS, the metadata for all image layers disappear.

PNG file format does not support layers. Even Layer document that support layers may well not have meta data for all images used within a composite. Composites images made using Photoshop place to place in image files as smart object layers may have meta data for placed in image files in the smart object layer's embedded object but that metadata would not be available for use within Photoshop. You would need to open the embedded object in the appropriate application or plug-in to get at that metadata. In fact a composite image file with image file meta data is most likely for the meta data of base image used when the composite image files was created.

  • My Default Website Folder & Manage Sites info Not Appearing

The pop up box on the right with the Files, Assets, and Snippets has somehow changed my default "AAA_WebSite" folder under the Files tab to show "Computer." I can still drill down to the correct folder, but since it's not set to the correct folder, all my "Manage Sites" info is missing as well.
    Any thoughts?

If you're referring to what I think you're referring to, that's the Site Manager dropdown box where you can quick jump between sites in DW and select which site you want to work on.
Click the box (where it says Computer) and select "AAA_WebSite" from the dropdown menu.

  • Want to re-name photos in iphoto.  info not saved

I am trying to date all the photos in iPhoto.  I just did about 300 and none of the info is saved.  What am I doing wrong?

When you change the title underneath the thumbnail in iPhoto all you're changing is the title and not the file name. To change the file name you need to export the photo out of iPhoto via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with the option to use the Title as the new file name selected.

  • File Info not saved (.gif) (Ps CS6 Extended, Mac)

I'm not certain that I've been building my workflow properly before, so if this was not supposed to be supported, I'm open to that possibility:
Modifying the "file info" for a gif file (in my case, "General" tab, "Document Title" and "Description") doesn't actually get saved with the file - or, at least, if it is saved, it's not visible when re-opening the file.
I believe that I understood that metadata for .png format isn't supported, but I thought that .gif was.
(Test case is easy: open .gif file, add a Title and Description, save, and re-open - information is gone).
Thanks for any help anyone has...

hi Chris & thank you for your response
it doesn't seem possible to add File > Info to a .png image in Photoshop itself. i've tried it a few different ways.
(shoot, actually i should try adding it again in Ps to a .png file and then see if Bridge can read it. hmmmm??)
in an other thread: [ http://forums.adobe.com/message/5642141#5642141 ] Gene told me that i could select Copyright and Contact Info from the Metadata drop down menu in the Save for Web panel to add the info to a .png image but this didn't work.
i don't know if Ps is having one of its "fits" or what but nothing seems to be working.
after a bit Gene was able to tell me that i can add File Info to .png files in the Bridge Cs6 or CC (no idea what the difference is between Ps Cs6 and Ps CC) and so i tried that and it worked.
however, it appears that Ps still cannot read the data/info when the .png image is opened in Ps itself. Only readable in Bridge.
which brings me to an other Q ... what's the point of Copyright info that can't be read? i am not being sarcastic i just really don't understand. granted, i need to read up on this topic but was hoping you could share your thoughts/knowledge w/me   oh, and if you have any handy links i would also much appreciate it. thanx 4 ur help!!

  • Mac DW CS4 FTP site preferences not saving

    Hi
Without going to the complete uninstall and reinstall of
Dreamweaver CS 4, which shouldn't be necessary because it's a
preference issue, I can't get it to hold my FTP log on details for
    some sites.
    I've been to ~/Library/Application
Support/Adobe/Common/10/Sites and dumped the Site Prefs.
    I've been to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and dumped
    the whole Dreamweaver CS4 folder
Finally I've been to I've been to ~/Library/Preferences and
dumped the Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 Prefs.
I've used Disk Utility to Repair Disk Permissions and repair
any damage (of which there was none).
As I was saying it's only losing FTP details for some web
sites after quit and restart. Why on earth should it be doing that
for some and not others? I have to keep reimporting the site from a
backup of the preferences which were created from a clean
    installation.
I'm stumped, has anyone else had this really frustrating
    problem?

Garry, I would love to know what the solution was that worked for you.
    1. I have tried to repair keychains using keychain first aid.
    2. I have deleted every keychain related to Dreamweaver and the specific FTP I am trying to use,  Which was there with the correct login and password.
    3. I have turned off Keychain sync with .Mac.   And repeated step 1-2.
None of this has worked for me. My login and password (although set to be saved), is missing from Dreamweaver whenever I start up.  furthermore, Dreamweaver is no longer even putting the login information into the keychain. -- I'm looking at the kitchen and there is nothing for Dreamweaver or the FTP after I save it. it is like there is a disconnect between Dreamweaver and the keychain program.
Other information about my particular situation:
I am using a fresh install of Dreamweaver CS4, installed as part of the Web  premium package. I am using a clean hard drive -- recently cleared and started fresh with OS 10.5 .7. After I cleared it I brought the sites over -- having exported them from Dreamweaver and save them prior to clearing the drive. I did have Keychain sync enabled in my.Mac account.
I had been using Dreamweaver CS4  for a few months on this drive before I cleared it off, and I did not have any trouble. It was an upgrade from CS3.
If anyone has any solutions, I would be most appreciative.

  • Remote Site Password Not Saved

Dreamweaver 8.0.2 does not save the username and password to
my remote site even though I have checked the box to do so. Once I
set the username and P/W, it remembers for that session only, but
fogets it when I restart the application.
    Any fixes?

  • Remote site Passwords not saving

Well, after finding a topic that was very similar, I
downloaded the update to 8.0.2 and installed it. But my problem
still persists. Every time I close DW, and then re-open it, the
remote site passwords are lost again.
NOTE: after installing the DW8 update, the software doe not
indicate anywhere that is is upgraded. "About" still says version
    8.0
All help will be greatly appreciated.

If the program doesn't say 8.0.2, then it didn't update. Did
    you run the
installer or just download the file?

  • Filename where site info is saved

I am re-installing Dreamweaver CS5 on a new computer.  My old computer crashed and Windows will not run BUT I do have access to the hard drive and all my data files.  I would like to bring over the 'site' file from my old Dreamweaver installation to the new one instead of having to re-create all my site information (over 50 clients).  The folder structure on the new computer is the same as the old ... can I just copy a file (or two) over and have the new Dreamweaver installation recognize all the site data?  If so, what are the filename(s) and where are they located?

See if any of this is of any help to you:

  • Remote info not saved

I am using DW8. I enter the remote server username and
password. The program automatically checks the save box. I click
    ok.
However, when I close DW and then open it again the server
    username and password is blank.
This does not happen with all of my webs. What's up?

  • Get Info Not Saving

When I "get info" and change what I want to, it doesn't save! Any help would be much appreciated. I've successfully done this before. I recently moved and reformatted my computer, so in the process I had to re download Itunes and upload all of my files again.

I'm also unable to get album artwork that I previously was able to get. (I know sometimes the itunes store can't find the artwork and you have to find it yourself). Fwaaa! I'm so picky about being organized this is driving me crazy!

  • FTP Passwords not saving in site

    Hi Guys
Im trying out DW8 and the only thing that im having trouble
with is my site is not saving the FTP user and password to log in
    with
If i add the details needed It works fine and as long as
    dreamweaver is open its fine.
But if i close it down and open it again all the details for
my site are there except the FTP username and passowrd and i have
to manually type these in all the time.
Not a big problem but its a hassel.
Is there some reason they aint saving? I have chosen the tick
    box to save password.
    Thanks again

I am having the same problem except the information doesn't
    *always*
disappear -- but it does disappear rather often for no
    apparent reason. I
just posted about this above ("Frequent loss of Remote Info
    in site
    definitions").
I am using IE 6.0 and Windows XP Pro SP2.
