Site name lost Site Disappears

I needed to copy an iWeb site to a folder and did so by changing the publishing settings. But when I tried to switch the setting back and publish the site to Mobile Me the site essentially disappeared. To make things a little more interesting, I'm using a private domain name.
Worse case scenario, how can I go back to square one and reload the site to MobileMe and use the private domain name?

Don't use the 'go to site link'.
Open Safari and clear your browser cache first and then enter your domain name and see if this works.
If not, then you need to go back to iWeb and re-publish your site to MobileMe again from iWeb, but with your original site name. If it is still not working after this, then you say that you have a domain name with forwarding set up - you need to go to your domain name registrar and check your forwarding settings there - go to the DNS settings to check your CNAME forwarding and also check that you have entered your domain name correctly into your MobileMe account under personal domain name.
If your site is still not working, then your other option would be to log into your MobileMe account under System Preferences and go directly to your iDisk and delete your site from there and go back to iWeb and then re-publish it. However, if you have CNAME forwarding set up for your domain name, then a different site name should not make any difference at all, because CNAME is simply forwarding your domain name to web.me.com and is not specific like web forwarding.
If you have masked web forwarding instead of CNAME, then this will make a difference because web forwarding is site specific. Which forwarding method are you using? CNAME or web forwarding?
Finally, publishing your site to a local folder, even if you do change the site name should not affect a site that is already published in any way at all. Publishing to a local folder is not really publishing , so anything already online should not be affected.

Export Preset Name list, it disappeared !!

I have problem with the Export Version option from Aperture software; when I used this option to export an photograph I selected the 1024 x 1024 option, next, the system send to me an alert message, something like: "..corrupt transfer.." and when I tried again the same action, the default Export Preset Name list, it disappeared !!
I reload all the software, 1.5 Version and 2.0 update software and the problem continues.
What I need to do in order to fix the problem?

I tested in my environment, change the column name and export to excel list, the exported field name is the correct one.
Please check the column name from somewhere else from site UI, you could check from SharePoint designer or powershell script.

In addition, I wonder if the issue occurs to all lists or one specific list. If the issue only occurs to one list, please try to save this list as template and create a new list based on this list and test the issue again.

First, make sure they are all still enabled in the respective System Preferences.
If the are, then do you have any third-party menu extras? They will often interfere with the others if they are not compatible.

Office Web Apps Server IIS site disappeared?

I deployed an Office Web Apps server on a dedicated VM to be used for Lync 2013. After the initial installation / set up, I confirmed the discovery URL. It worked fine.
However, after one point in time, PowerPoint Presentations stopped working. When trying to share a PPT presentation, the Lync client popped up a message saying "Sorry, we couldn't upload <ppt file name> because we're having trouble connecting
to the service. If this keeps happening, try contacting your support team". I've done many many Lync and Office Web Apps install myself previously, and never had a message pop up like the one I saw in this case.
I tried going to the Web Apps discovery URL again, and it didn't get anywhere. I got on the Web Apps server and all the IIS sites were wiped.
I tried uninstalling the Office Web Apps server and reinstalling, but from that point on, IIS sites for Web Apps just would not appear under IIS manager.
Has anyone had similar issue with Office Web Apps?

Maybe the windows update is active and configured to Automatically download and installed update of Office Web Apps and this behavior just breaking your setup.
Try
remove the farm of WAC
Install SP1
and start new deployment of farm.

Site Disappeared while editing through DW CS4. Help?

I designed a new site using Dreamweaver CS4. My web host, powweb, helped me with the configurations under Site|Management over the phone, and it showed up great on the internet!
I then realized I misspelled a word in the index.html homepage.
I edited it and pressed File|Save and then Site|Put.
A pop-up asked me if I want to also transfer Dependant Files. I clicked "Yes", and then my laptop died. When I plugged it in, I realized my whole website had disappeared and left just a dark blue page. I can view the new fixed index.html on MY computer, but the images are gone and so are all the links to the other pages... Others have said its just a dark blue page. Its skytopvending.com
I called both support centers, and Adobe wants $39 for info, and powweb says everything looks fine in their system.
I am a newbie with all of this, so please be thurough in your advice, if you can help.
Can anyone help me fix this?

My iWeb site disappeared after ALL that WORK!!

I spent hours creating a web page. I saved it to a local folder under my name and "web page" on the desktop Then (because my university likes to make life interesting), I had to download Cyberduck as the source to FTP my page to the university web site. I was supposed to just drag and drop my local folder file into the Cyberduck box, which I did. But I got an error. Tried to synchronize my old site with the new iWeb-created one, and it got stalled after an hour of trying to sync. So then I deleted all the contents on the server, then dragged my page into the Cyberduck box. When I tried to check it online, I got an error. The tech people at the university said I named my folder wrong (should have been my login name, not the words "web site"). They changed the folder name for me, and now my site come up beautifully online.
EXCEPT: this morning when I opened Cyberduck to edit my page, iWeb wouldn't open. I opened iWeb separately, and my project is missing. Not a trace of it. Tried to open anything from the local folder on my descktop named "web page", but iWeb says it can't open anything. I renamed the local file to my name (which is what the techies did at the university, I suppose, to get it up and running online), but still, I can't open my folder in iWeb to work on it.
What happened to my site? I have the folder on my desktop with all my files, but I can't open any of the files with iWeb. Why? How can I import it back into iWeb so I can keep working on it? I'm pulling my hair out here.
Will some angel save me from drinking a whole bottle of wine?

When you create a website with iWeb it is contained in a file named Domain.sites. However, you website does not exist until you publish it and upload the published/html files to your server.
When you publish your site the basic files needed to create the file are saved to that domain.sites file. In order to edit your website you must open that domain file with iWeb and make the changes. Then publish the changes to the folder on your hard drive where you published it originally.
Do have a domain file located in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder? If you do then double click on it and it will open with your website inside.
And why would I or anyone else want to deprive you of a good bottle of wine.

I'm using Dreamweaver MX on Leopard. It seems that when I did
my last software update (10.5.3) all of my sites vanished from my
site list. Everything is gone.
Is there a simple way to tell DW how to rebuild my sites? In
my EDIT SITES window there is an IMPORT option but I can't figure
out what to import. I had about 10 sites and hate the thought of
having to set each up manually again. I'm sure there's something
somewhere?

What the Import button is for is if you HAD done an Export of
the site
definitions as .ste files. However you get this resolved, use
the Export
button and tuck the .ste files away. They are just the site
definitions, not
the site assets.

Firefox loads online wsj, but then the site disappears after a few seconds and i receive the constant load symbol

This happens at work (on a PC) and at home (on a Mac laptop).

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
* Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Site disappears after upgrading to 2.02

Help! Just did software update to 2.02... opened iWeb and it asked me to choose a template for a blank site. I didn't and the program closed itself. I searched for a domain. file as I saw suggested in another topic and there is none. Help!

Unless you made a backup copy of your domain file then it looks like you're out of luck. From bitter experience, I keep backups and update them regularly.
Although there has been a lot of stuff posted in this forum about the importance of making backups of your domain file, unfortunately, it usually too late by the time people read about it.
It would be a positive move on Apple's part if they would build some sort of warning into the iWeb application. Maybe you could suggest this to them via the iWeb/Provide iWeb feedback menu. I sure they are sick of hearing from me!

Changed server name, lost all local folders

Recently my hosting company migrated me to a new server. Thing is, not only is a new server, but also new name. This AM I figured I had to finally address the issue so I made what I've come to learn is a mistake - I went into Tools -> Account Settings and changed the name of the server from "A" to "B". Oops. The account is an IMAP account, and has been for years.
This probably wouldn't be a big deal, but at the same time, something very odd happened - all of my LOCAL folders disappeared. So figured ok, something screwy happened I'll just go find the files. Not that easy...
- If I search my hard drive for the name of a folder that was in the local folders, the search turns up empty. The folders appear to just be gone. Checked recycling bin, nothing there.
- I went into Thunderbird to see where local folders are kept. Easy enough: D:\xxxxx\Mail\Local Folders. Went looking there. Mostly empty. What IS there has 0kB. Considering I have (well... had?) about 15-20 years of email stored, this isn't likely.
- I even scanned the drives with both Recuva and VirtualLabs Data Recovery. Both turned up nothing for the missing folders.
I tried looking through the support sites, and tried a few of the "obvious" solutions:
- View has both "messages" and "threads" set to "all".
- I've restored a pref.js file from a few days ago
So I'm stumped. Am I missing somewhere that I should be looking? Am I missing a solution?
Version of Thunderbird is 31.6.0.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick response. I agree that it would seem like two different issues, but... coincidence?
The server migration in question was supposed to be seamless. I believe the servers were mirrored for a time, and then the original server was shut down. This is supported by the fact that my mailboxes on the "B" server were all in tact, including the entire IMAP folder tree (about 20-30 sub folders within the inbox). Those folder did not disappear with the migration/server name change.
As for the "local folders"... I was/am very certain they were indeed local, but I tried to find some evidence. I was intermittently using Mailstore Home to run mail backups, and looking in there, I see all the missing folders, and they are indeed "local folders". Not IMAP subfolders.

Help - Login Names and Passwords Disappear

I recently encountered a problem while using Safari. As I usually do, I accessed a website where I have to enter a login name and password, like this one. When I click "submit" or press "enter" both the name and password simply disappear. I retype the information, and again its gone when I press "enter." This happens on every site that requires a login name and password, including this site. I am using Firefox in order to access this site and post this thread.
Does anybody have any ideas as to how to fix this? Safari is my preferred browswer.

Thank you for your reply. I solved my problem. Many sites requiring a login name and password, including Apple Discussions, also require that you allow them to set cookies in your system. I had set Safari Preferences > Security to never accept cookies. Apparently, doing this prevents these websites from accepting any login name or password you enter. Resetting Preferences > Security to accept cookies again allows me to use a login name and password.

Logical names lost after database corruption removal

Hi,
I am working on a PXI based project using NI 5663 and NI 5673. The MAX database in system got corrupted recently due to power cut.
I did a database corruption removal and the only issue I face now is that there are no logical names for the devices. I am following the steps from the site below to create the same –

But after I create a new logical name say for the LO 5652 (associated with 5663), I do not know which driver session to associate with it.
There are driver sessions for niFGen, ni5450 in the list but no session for 5663 or 5673.
Could someone please help me out with creating logical names and associating them to the devices?

To configure your 5663, you can refer to the RF Vector Signal Analyizer Getting Started Guide pages 37 - 39.
You should open Measurement & Automation Explorer and rename the devices such as VSA_LO, VSA_DC, VSA_DIG for the local oscillator, downconverter and digitzer respectively. Next you will need to associate the downconverter with the local oscillator and digitizer by right clicking the downconverter and selecting properties
To configure the 5673 the steps will be fairly identical, rename the devices if you wish and then associate the upconverter (IQ Vector Modulator) with the arbitrary waveform generator and the local oscillator. You can also refer to the RF Signal Generator Getting Started Guide on pages 23 - 24.
Which programming language are you using the VSA and VSG with? You normally wouldn't need to configure any IVI sessions the the devices. The only configuration normally is just associating the upconverter or downconverting with the LO or digitizer/AWG module.

Acrobat pro 9 - save with name lost format of document.

Hi all !!
When save with name a document after modify, it lost the format. A lot of words appear broken with a space between two letters:
Example:
Before " Your instructions were excellent "
After save with name: " Yo ur instru ctions were excell ent"

Very likely you have it set to embed the substitute fonts when you do a save as. I just had an issue with one sent to me that if I did a font embed (they were not embedded), the same thing happened. Instead of doing this, I simply printed to a new PDF (lose any bookmarks and such) and got what I wanted with all of the fonts embedded. I suspect your original did not have the fonts embedded and you are seeing the result. You might also check to see if you have Use Local Fonts selected or not, then reverse that selection and see if that helps.
