Site not importing to Dreamweaver CC correctly

Hi,
First post on here and its rather a bizone that ive never seen before and is rather complicated to explain.
Ive recently got a new PC (windows 8) and signed up to the Adbobe Creative Cloud and downloaded Dreamweaver CC...
Nothing strange so far.
I manage a number of sites for my work and the issue is relating to one site in particular.
The whole site doesnt display correctly. It almost looks as if the PC is you would expect that to be an issue on the other sites i have imorted but it isn't.
Here's a screen shot of whats going on....
As you can see the image is all distorted. its definately not a coding issue as if i was to navigate to another installed site that is working fine...when i revist a page on the problem site it retains features from the previous site...you can see hints of purple in the screenshot above AND THAT SITE DOESNT HAVE PURPLE ON IT!!! Its just kept that from another site page that i had previously viewed.
So bizzare.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this. Im using a brand new machine and im sure its not a graphics issue as like ive mentioned before all the other sites i have imported on Dreamweaver CC are working fine.
To sum up
- The issue is only on one site. 2 other sites have been imported an are working fine.
- I have deleted and reinstalled the site - still happens
- The problem is constant through the whole of the problem site, not just one particular page - which may suggest a coding problem...
however, the site displays fine when imported through older versions of Dreamweaver...
Help! - anyone seen anything like this before?!

Sorry, even Adobe staff members (which I am not) don't know when updates will be pushed. Even when they do, they gernerally can't say.
You should be able to do a search of your css for "transparent" to see if it's there, it definitely sounds and looks like the transparent bug.

AE will not import live photoshop 3d correctly

Hi, I've spent a lot of time researching forums, watching tutorials trying to solve this problem to know avail. I have found some threads that have the same problem, but no solutions have worked. I'm using CS4 in both photoshop and AE. My problem is that no matter what I do I cannot correctly import photoshop 3d live layers into aftereffects and have them work properly. Basically once I save or create the 3d file or 3d shape as a psd, when I import it into AE it does not create the comp correctly where it creates the camera, and controler layer (per the tutorials I have watched). It simply brings in the PS file as a straight 2d. Here is what I have done and tried.
1) within photoshop the 3d object all works fine. I've tried numerous models and even used the adobe car model that was part of the tutorial There seems to be no issues when working inside PS. I have even created just a simple 3 d shape in PS and tried importing that into AE with the same results. I am saving all of these as .psd files.
2) When importing I have made sure that the import as live photoshop3d layer box is checked
3) Within AE after importing, I have opened the comp that was imported to see if the camera layer and controler layer are there...they are not, only the PS layer (2d) is there.
4) I havewithin aftereffects to edit original on the layer which brought me back into PS, I made a slight color change and saved and when going back into AE it reflected the changes I made correctly. I tried to do this to make sure dynamic link was working correctly.
5) I tried to manually within AE to convert the layer to a photoshop live 3d layer (since it didnt do it correctly upon initial import) I get an error message that reads.... no photoshop live 3d layer found.
It just seems that upon import, AE is not recognizing that it is a 3d photoshop live layer, thus does not create the necessary things (camera and controller) as needed. Are there any preferences that I may need to enable within AE for this to work. Truthfully I don't know for sure that it couldnt be a problem with PS, but since everthing 3d seems to work correctly in PS, I believe the problem has to do with AE.
I'm really at a loss at what else to do, everything else in AE works fine. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds rather odd, but I remeber there was an issue along those lines that got fixed in the 9.0.2 update. If you haven't already, try to install it. Also check the rendering style of your model in PS. You may have assigned something there that would not produce visible results and thus AE may ignore it. As a last thing, check your OpenGL settings in AE and PS and your graphics driver. Since PS handles this as a hardware accelerated feature, bad graphics configuration might also make it go boom... For more details it would help if you could produce some screenshots of your settings and import attempts....

Edit: Definitely make sure to turn off the sequence option in the AE import dialog! This might, after all, be the problem here...

Garabage Band not importing files from iTunes correctly

I am working a project with a lot of sound files that I recorded using another computer. I imported them to iTunes. I was able this morning to go ahead and use the files with no problems, but now it is messing up.
It imports every file as exactly the same from the media browser. They play ok in the preview and are the correct files but when I drag them in, it turns them into the same file.
What went wrong? How can I fix it?

I figured out my own problem! What was going on was that the music files were saved for some reason in the .mov format. The program I used to record it (Wiretap Studio) must have done this. Why I set this to .mov, I don't know.
However, the solution is simple and easy. Resave all files as another format. I choose wav to be on the safe side. And it imported nicely!
Hope this helps anyone else that comes up with this weird error!

Captivate 8 not importing PowerPoint slides in correct order

I am using Captivate 8, and PowerPoint 2007.
I have a PPT presentation with 24 slides. The original PPT presentation had only 14 slides, and I imported that into C8 with no problems - even when I made updates to those slides in PPT, the update in C8 went smoothly.
I increased the slide count in the PPT file, saved it, and in C8 I updated the file in the Library. Now the slides are out of order! And the slide count in C8 is completely off - for example, it says on one slide, "8 slide 5." It isn't slide 8 in PPT, and it isn't slide 5 in PPT. It's slide 15 in PPT. But in C8, it's slide 8. Other slides are also out of order - all of the additional slides that I made. I've tried closing and restarting both programs with no success.
I could simply swap out the slides, which I started doing and, because it's only 24 slides with roughly 10 slides out of order, it won't be too big a deal. But when I start transfering presentations with more slides, or with slide additions in the future, this WILL be a big deal and will really screw the efficiency factor of my projects.
I already know that I can simply use C8 to capture the PPT presentations rather than transfer, and I already know that C8 is not the ideal program for transferring PPT slides. My client wants quizzes and other media incorporated into the projects, so I need to use C8, and I cannot simply make a capture of the PPT presentations because that is not what the client wants.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and how did you solve it? Or is this simply a bug in C8?

An observation as well as a question here.
Why not simply create a totally new project any time you add slides to the PPT?
When you update, you are essentially spending as much time as it takes to import fresh again. So I might think the better approach would be to simply trash or abandon the old project, then import the PPT again to create a totally fresh project. And you also wouldn't have the headache of the mismatched slides.
Food for thought.

What about sites NOT created with Dreamweaver templates

I am using Dreamweaver CS3 (no templates), and code most everything by hand (html, javascript and CSS). Would it work to have people in my office adding content to these existing sites with Contribute CS5 since there are NO Dreamweaver templates in place?

Html webpages are editable in Contribute.

Itunes not importing songs from CD correctly

Using the 'import cd' button - itunes appears to import the music but when i click to play a song - nothing happens! It seems that i only have the song titles. There are no 'rights' or 'CD player' issues as the CD's can be imported quite happily onto someone elses itunes and I can play the CD's using Windows media player - so this definitely seems to be an itunes issue. I am on the latest 7.0 version
Any suggestions please!??

Issues were related to autoplay being disabled in Windows. To me, this is an issue that iTunes needs to fix. Autoplay shouldn't be a requirement in order to have cd importing work smoothly.

Impdp not importing function based index correctly.

We noticed that a process running in our develop database was running much faster than in the production database. After investigating we found that on the development database the process was using an index on the main large table and on the production database the index was ignored and full table scans of the large table were being used.
The data in the tables was the same, statistics were up-to-date, etc. Looking closer we saw that the index on the production database was function based because it had the DESC keyword on one column in the index. On the development database all columns of the index were ASC and thus it was a "normal" index. This was very confusing since we had just refreshed the development database from production using expdp/impdp. I ran impdp with the sqlfiles option to capture the DDL from the export file for the index in question from the production database:

I've researched this extensively and can't find any information on why this is happening. Any ideas before I open a SR?
BTW.... version is 11.1.0.7 patchset 31 on Windows Server 2003. Both dev and prod environments are identical.

Working on something else I noticed the following two "hidden" init.ora parameters in both my dev and production databases:
*._disable_function_based_index=TRUE
*._ignore_desc_in_index=TRUE
The first parameter explains why the index (function based) was being ignored in my production database. The second explains why the index is created without the DESC keyword in my dev database from an export from my prod database. I guess you do learn something new every day :)
These databases are used by Peoplesoft applications and I found several posts saying that function based indexes created by Peoplesoft were causing performance and/or data validity problems and users were instructed to set the above parameters so the FIB's weren't used. So, everything is working as expected/designed. I will contact Peoplesoft Tech Support to see if users are still encouraged to set the above parameters.

How can I import a non-BC site into BC, using Dreamweaver CC, and then use it as one of my free sites?

I am trying to import one of my non-BC sites into BC, using Dreamweaver CC, and then use it as one of my free WebBasics sites.
When I try to create a new BC site in Dreamweaver CC, it creates a BC template site, and I have unsuccessfully tried to update the files on BC - it won't let me connect.
If I import the site from my portal, I don't get the option of a free site - when I try to upgrade, I get the credit card form asking for payment.
I feel like I'm running around in circles with one foot nailed to the floor.
Any tips?

Thank you for your quick reply and for clearing up my confusion. I'm exporting the first section now. I choose the smallest size, 3x4 but I'd prefer to go higher as this DVD was originally a VHS home movie. I'm wondering if after three conversions (VHS,->DVD->MPEG) the resolution will be so poor as to not support a larger size frame? If it can, what size should I select when I export?

PDF's not importing correctly

I am using CS5 on iMac 27" quad.
I am trying to import a PDF into Photoshop.
But it is not importing correctly.
The PDF is a label template, which prints perfectly from the PDF.
But when I import it into Photoshop, the dimensions change.
So the text boxes for the labels don't align up correctly to the label sheet.
The top label is OK, but the boxes keep moving to the right, so that top label in column 5 is a 1/4" off to the right. The labels seem to be "traveling."
Vertically, the same thing is happening.
Row #1 is OK
but by the end of the page, Row #5 is 3/8" off the page.
I have disabled all printing options: no auto-center; no fit to page; no scaling.
The printer software should not be adapting the document at all.

Technical informations:
PC with Windows 7 64-bit, Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit installed.
What I have done:
I downloaded the newest LR 5.71 and installed it again - mode repair; without success
I checked my PC with Norton 360: full scanning and optimizing registry
I restarted the PC and than I installed the LR 5.7 again - repair
Trouble 1:
Two days ago I could work with my LR 5 and to import pictures from a SD was no problem. Now I can start LR 5 and I can watch/modify pictures, but as soon as I try to import new pictures LR 5 stops and gives the message "your LR 5 64-bit does not work correctly - searching for solution". I have not changed anything in my computer since lasttime LR 5 worked properly, only the registry was optimized by Norton 360.
Trouble 2:
I live in Switzerland and my language ist German. I dit not find a place where I can present my problem in German, e.g. a phone number oder email-address oder german-chat. My English is to week for a discussion for computer problems and do understand it.
Help:

BC provides you templates to use to modify and sell to a client. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be there. For example, the templates are offered when you go to create a new site. BC asks if you want to use a template, import a site, etc… so your analogy doesn’t apply in this situation.

IPhoto not imported correctly?

I purchased and installed Aperture the other day. I then opened it, but decided to close it immediately, and import my iPhoto library the next day.
The following day I got ready to import my iPhoto library. According to page 174 of the pdf manual, there are several options, such as storing imported master location, import as referenced images, a 'move files' or 'copy files' button, and several others. However during the import, I was given none of these options. I selected File - Import - Library, chose my iPhoto library, and immediately a "merging libraries" message was displayed. After about 15 minutes the message disappeared, and all my iPhoto events now appear to be in individual projects, faces and places are OK, and all seems to be well. Oddly, I noticed that in the manual, the command is given as just 'File - Import - iPhoto library', which I cannot see.
Has the import gone correctly? If so, why did I not received the various import options mentioned in the manual?
The original iPhoto library appears to be intact, and I now have an Aperture Library in my Pictures folder.
Would appreciate any help.

Don't worry, Steve. You imported your iPhoto library correctly.
What you have read in the manual, is how the iPhoto library was imported in the earlier Aperture versions, before the unified Aperture-iPhoto library had been introduced with Aperture 3.3.
Merging libraries by importing is described in this document: How to use Aperture to merge iPhoto libraries
You also could have simply opened your iPhoto library in Aperture and used it directly as your photo library, without importing it. Both Aperture and iPhoto can use each others libraries like their own, see:

Canon 5D MK II white balance set as K does not import correctly

With a 5D II and the Kelvin white balance set in the camera the WB does not import correctly for RAW files and LR 2.4. For example when set to a specified white balance as a Kelvin setting, for example 5200, and then import the raw files with "As Shot" specified or subsequently WB to "As Shot" in Develop module the white balance is set to 4850 +1 (in the example of 5200). The pre set WB options provided inthe camera do work correctly.
Does anyone know if there is a way to set this up to work correctly? Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Lightroom does work correctly. The numbers are different, but the appearance ot the colour temperature matches. The way I understand it, cameras don't actually store Kelvin numbers, but store colour space co-ordinates instead. LR and your Canon are interpreting the RAW values into different colour spaces, so the kelvin values and tint numbers will differ.
