Site Studio XA and Jdeveloper

Hi ,
I have Jdeveloper Studio 11.1.1.3.0 installed on my machine. I have installed the RIDC and Site Studio extensions in Jdeveloper using Help -> Check For Updates -> Source -> Install From file. I used oracle.ucm.wcm.jdev-11.1.1.zip and oracle.ucm.ridc.jdev-11.1.1.zip for this. These extensions got installed without any error.
Now when I am trying to create a new connection using Oracle Content Server Connection as connection type I am getting following error.

Hi Pravin ,
SS with JDev provides you to create the SS Connection which is to be added to your project . We do not need a Oracle Content Server connection for that . To be able to do it you will need to install the Webcenter Plugins which will be available from :
Check For Updates -> Source -> <Online> - Select Webcenter Framework and Webcenter Portal .
Once these are deployed , then you will be able to create oracle content server connection .

Site Studio Publisher and WebURLMaps

I'm attempting to create a static copy of a Site Studio site using the SS Publisher. I've noticed that links/urls that are built using WebURLMaps on the dynamic site aren't publishing to my static location. Is this something that isn't possible? If it is, which configurations in my Site Studio Publisher Task might I have configured incorrectly? I've tried including the webmapurl directory in my Include List and things of that nature but haven't had success making it work. Ideas?

Site Studio Publisher is specifically designed to work with Site Studio websites.
What do you mean by non Site Studio website?

Site Studio Search and OracleText

Hi All,
I am finding information how the Site Studio search fragment can leverage on OracleText.
I read in the OracleText documentation, it does have weight(*) operator to put more weightage on certain words the user is searching. I am wondering how this can be implemented in Site Studio Search Fragment.
Any pointer will be very much appreciated.

Getting 404 while view in browser from the site studio desinger..10gr4

Reason is you have missed out to make the config changes in Apache webserver's httpd.conf file . It should be like this :

IdcSecurity idc
</Location>
Restart apache after this and then test .

Error while opening site studio designer

Hi,
We are getting error while opening the site studio Desiner in Server. It gives unexpected error with three options, view log, close and continue, then program just get closed.
Yesterday we have upgraded site studio component and designer -
Site studio designer from 10gR3(10.1.3.3.2) to 10gR3(10.1.3.5.0)
Site studio component from 7.7.2.405 to 8.0.0.645
This issue is not coming for the user who have installed the site studio component and designer but rest all user are facing the problem while opening site studio designer in the server.
Below mentioned is the scanrio -
A) All the users(UserA,UserB,UserC) have the admin access to the server.This installation has been done by UserA. UserA only able to open the SS-D and remaining all are getting error
B) The issue is on the same machine on which site studio designer is installed.
C) Multiple users are using same SS-Designer
D) Error occured as soon as the userB,UserC went to select site studio designer from start menu on the same server and getting the same error.
E) UserB who is also having admin access has tried this option of un install and re-install SS-D,but he is also not able to open the SS-D. Still only UserA is able to access the SS-D.
Any kind of resolution much appriciated.

I have tried to install SS-D with userB and userC but then too both of them getting the same error, but userA is able to open SS-D.

Using the ssIncludeXml function in Site Studio 10gR4

Since the managed data file format has changed dramatically in Site Studio 10gR4, how do I still use ssIncludeXml to extract a particular element?
For example, a data file in Site Studio 10gR3 looks similar to this:
<region1>
<PageBody>
</PageBody>
</region1>
To extract the "PageBody" element I would use the ssIncludeXml function like this:
ssIncludeXml(dDocName,"region1/PageBody/node()")
In Site Studio 10gR4 a typical data file format looks like this:
<wcm:root>
<wcm:element name="PageBody">
</wcm:element>
</wcm:root>
How do I use the ssIncludeXml function to match the "PageBody" here?

I'm trying to do this in Site Studio 11g and am having zero luck. I have an HCSP in Site Studio [which I am using to write XML] that is querying the system and returning a set of XML data files. In my HSCP, I have

Word wrapping in site studio?

Hello,
I'm trying to develop in Site Studio 7 and finding it cumbersome the way I always have to scroll across to view code. I've tried 'enable line wrapping' in the view -> customise menu, this doesn't seem to have any effect. Anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

"Line wrapping" is not word wrapping. It inserts a physical line break when the line exceeds the specified length. If the text is continuous (no spaces) then no break is inserted. Pointless and yuck. We've been complaining about it for years, maybe Oracle's 11g release might address it.

Hi,
I have migrated the website assets ,created on site studio 10 g R4 to 11g R1,but I'm not able to see these assets when I'm trying to connect using site studio 11g and there is no error in the logs as well
Moreover the dynamic listing used doesn't show ant results on the page.
Has any one any similar issue?

What is the userid/password you used ? You should be using weblogic/weblogic1 as the combination if your site is deployed to the internal WLS of JDEV . Try this out and see .

Hidden Assets like element definition, region definition from site studio designer

Hi Experts,
I am facing problem in Site Studio Designer, I have created a new Website and Created Page Template and when i tried to create the site assets like element definition, region definition, region templates. It's visible and when i refresh the list or change the list from element definition to region definition and again open the tab of element definition, the definition list removes or hide from the list in Site Studio Designer and when i check the content server for the same region definitions, element definitions all are present in content server but hides from site studio designer. Can any one please help me out resolve this issue i am unable to edit any assets.

First, the Override Editor CSS is ONLY used to change the CSS for the contributor editor. For instance, if you have a div tag that encompasses the entire website and specify it to be center-aligned, everything within your WYSIWYG editor will be center-aligned too (not ideal). So you could, for instance, use the Override Editor CSS to have the same div class that overrides the text within the contributor to be left-aligned.
As far as not being able to apply the CSS, I'm not too sure. You should at least be able to create a completely blank HCSP layout page, and see that no classes are available (because there is no CSS on the page). When you have a CSS, I've found that the classes loaded aren't always necessarily the ones that are in the CSS. My recommendation is to select "Allow selected classes", ONLY use the "additional classes", and type in the classes you want to show up in the CSS WYSIWYG dropdown. That's the only way I've gotten it to work.

Site Studio website navigation problem

Hi,
I am new to this Oracle UCM and Site Studio thing and as for beginning, I installed the Ravenna Host Website and then created My First Website, both following the tutorial documents available.
However, I found two issues with both the websites related to navigation.
1> When I click on any of the website links from within the content server admin console under the Web Sites menu, I am getting a blank page although the websites run correctly if viewed directly from the browser.
For example, the following page does not show any content -
http://localhost/ucm/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_PAGE&nodeId=9001&siteId=RVH
But the following page runs alright -
http://localhost/RVH/index.htm
The siteId and nodeId parameter values are correct according to me.
I am using the 10g R3 version of CS. Do I need to use any update?
The same problem is happenning with the MFS site as well which I designed from the Site Studio Designer.
2> There is some problem with the vertical navigation menu I think.
Suppose, in the RVH site say, I directly go the Products->Servers page from the home page, it is displayed correctly and the url is http://localhost/RVH/Products/Servers/index.htm.
However, if I first visit the Products page from the home page (http://localhost/RVH/Products/index.htm) and then the Products->Servers page from there on it is directing to a wrong url - http://localhost/RVH/Products/Products/Servers/index.htm and the error is as follows -
Error Code: -338
Error Message: Failed to locate relative path 'Products/Products/Servers' in hierarchy of site 'RVH'.
I am facing similar issue with the MFS site as well which I have designed and used the Nav Multi Vertical fragment for the menu. Is there any known issue related to this and what is the workaround then.
I will be extremely thankful if someone can help me out with this issues.
Also, can someone suggest a more complex tutorial on Site Studio. I have the Designer Guide but a step-by-step tutorial would have helped.
I want to accomplish role based contribution and workflow next.

1> The page is opening on clicking on the web site link under the Web Site menu from within the CS admin console and the url begins with the ip address only when I am accessing the development server which is not localhost. But still the page appears blank.
2> I also understand that the url is wrong but not sure why this is happenning. The pattern is that when I am in a particular page and trying to access to another page, it seems to append the href at the end of the current url barring the index.html and not after the webcontext.
So when I am in the Products page - http://<ipaddress>/MFS/Products/index.htm and then navigating to the Products->Servers page, the url is showing as http://<ipaddress>/MFS/Products/Products/Servers/index.htm which is wrong and which should have been http://10.31.5.91/MFS/Products/Servers/index.htm.
Navigating directly to the second url renders the correct page.
I am copy-pasting my hda file if it helps you to identify the problem.

Performance Tunning and Optimization in Site Studio based sites.

Hi all,
I am hosting a site studio based site but performance test number are not encouragin. I have made sure not execute lots of service. I am using LoadRunner for performance evaluation.
Can some body please share with me the Performance strategy they are using, the general guidelines for performance improvement. It will help me a lot.

Upgrade Content Server and Site Studio

Hello Everyone,
We are trying to upgrade both Content Server and Site Studio from 7.1 / 7.2.1 to
10gR3
1) Instead of updating existing instance we Installed new 10gR3 instance
Exported folder structure archive, layout files and data files from old instance
2) Imported into new 10gR3 instance.
3) Tried to upgrade sitestudio websites
4) Its created a project file but not adding any SiteStudio section properties
(ex. primaryURL, secondaryURL, IncludeSectionInNavigation etc.), if I open the site in
designer, it shows just blank site structure without any templates associated and all sections are disabled.
Any ideas on this??

If you are displaying the data from spaces only then all the operations like creating a web content , editing it etc can be done from Webcenter spaces itself .

Jdeveloper vs Site Studio

Hello,
I installed all of the software which I believe is needed to create a website from scratch. I am stuck trying to figure out if I need to use JDeveloper or SiteStudio to create a simple hello world home page. Off the OUCM tab under WinXP is Site Studio. Off the WebLogic tab is Jdeveloper. Which is the correct workflow?

Site Studio and it's uses

Ok so I was questioned about making a web page accessing UCM data for the end user, and I was wondering if Site Studio is the proper approach to tackle this kind of request. I was reading up on some materal on it and it seemed the right way to go, I just wanted to be sure before I commit to idea like that.

You can
- use UCM's web GUI
- create a site via Site Studio or SSXA
- use a portal technology and expose UCM's portlets
- create your own web application and get content from UCM via services or RIDC calls
Site Studio is mainly for creation of sites, where site's documents (pages, images, multimedia, but also CSSs, templates or fragments) are stored in UCM. Site Studio's sites also support contribution mode where authorized users may modify content of the site directly in the WYSIWYG mode, or management mode, where site managers may add new site's sections, re-organize pages, etc. Is this something close to your requirements?

Jquery and site studio

Hi there,
has anyone on here had any success using jquery within site studio assets? I'm having odd behavior just trying to read in the files depending on where I place the script call to import using the following. If you have had success can you share how you were able to solve the oddities? An example of the oddities is that depending on where i place the script calls to import the js files the rest of the html does not come back from site studio. it is as if site studio chokes on the call and stops composing the html that should get to the requestor. if i move the the call around to different points within the <head> tag i get different behavior.
<script src=''/>i am used to using jquery for heavy interactions at the UI level but have not been able to get both jquery and jqueryUI libraries to work at the same time from within site studio....thanks for any response.

I haven't used wcmUrl() extensively, but I've had no issue using jQuery when putting the js files as a fragment asset. Have you tried making sure that the generated url is actually correct? If JQUERY151 happens to be a fragment, you have to use wcmFragment(), not wcmUrl(). If everything else fails, try updating to the latest patch to see if that resolves it. Hope this helps.
