Site Survey Failed--Try Again

I am trying to connect my Range Expander wre54g, ver 3.0 to my Linksys Router Wrt54g and I keep getting the site survey failed message when running the CD--I tried auto configuration but the expander doesnt expand my wireless range on my laptop..Any Ideas??

Reset the range extender for few seconds .....
Make sure that the wireless security on the router is disabled ....
Hold the Autoconfigure button for few seconds ..... once you get both lights Blue ....release it .....
Check on the wireless computer if it shows connected status under wireless network connections or not .....
If so power down the Router ..... your computer will be still connected to the Range Extender network .....
Use static Ip 192.168.1.50 ...subnet 255.255.255.0 ...& gateway 192.168.1.240 on the wireless computer under wireless network connection ....
Open setup page using http://192.168.1.240 ..... use admin as password without any username .....
Enable the wireless security on the same ...... click save settings .....
Use the same security settings on the router ...after powering up the router .....
Power cycle the network & see if it still shows connected or not .....

    I just purchased the Wireless-G Range Expander WRE54G and when I insert the CD it says site Survey fail.  I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and was able to fix it.  My actual wireless router is WRT54GS and the wireless card I have in my desktop is a WMP110 Rangeplus Wireless PCI Adapter.

    As you have mentioned in your Post that you have already connected the WRE54G to your Computer and both the lights are Blue on your WRE54G, so i think that the reason when you run the setup disk you are getting that error message on your Computer (Site Survey Failed). As you have already assigned a static IP to your Computer, you dont have to run the setup disk on your Computer, you can configure all the settings on your WRE Manually. Follow the steps bellow.
    Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your WRE54G, wait for 60 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your WRE54G...
    On your Computer - Click on Start - Run - CMD and click Ok, now in the Command Prompt window type "ping 192.168.1.240" without quotes and hit enter and check if you are getting any replies, If yes, then Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.240 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    Once you Login to the WRE setup page, First change the Wireless Network Name (SSID) and the channel and click on Save Settings... Once back to the same page, now under "Wireless Security" click on Enable and click on "Edit Security Settings" and now in the "Key1" you can type your security key and click on Save settings. 
    Now Unplug the power from the WRE and the Ethernet cable, wait for 30sec and re-conncet the power to the WRE and check the Light status on your WRE, But the "ACT and LINK" light should be Blue. Remove the static Ip from your Computer and Connect to your Wireless Network, Once connected to your Network again open the command prompt window and type "ping 192.168.1.240" and hit enter and check if you are getting any replies, if yes then your WRE is configured properly and ready to use.

    Hello,
    When i try to open document library from SharePoint Production portal then it throws the specified error. However, when i open document library from SharePoint Development portal then it opens it in file explorer quite easily.
    Production portal is on https whereas development portal is on http. Also, UAG has been configured on production portal.
    Any idea where it's getting stuck up? Surely, this is not a browser issue on Windows 7 as it's opening the development portal's document library on the same machine.
    I've also done following things:
    - Configured Desktop Experience on production environment
    - Installed the hotfix for Windows 7

    Then, try to delete the cache of the IE browser before reproducing the issue. Check the result..
    - Try to temporarily disable the Antivirus and test again.

    - Check if you face this behavior with all users, Or only with some specific ones, Or with all different client OSes.. 
    Otherwise you will need to collect the logs to further analyze...

    "Site Survey Failed" is the message I keep gettting when trying to setup my Wireless-G Expander on my computer. I am using a Wireless-G broadband router on my main computer, was told to buy the range expander to help retreive the signal across the house to the other computer which is using Wireless-G USB Adapter, so that it to has internet. Please help, thank you!

    Are you using the set-up CD on for the range expander? Better configure the range expander manually for faster resolution if it fails. If your actual wireless network is unsecured, you might just as well press the Autoconfig Button of the range expander for 15 seconds, and if you get 2 blue lights on the range expander that should be all fine.

    Apple's activation server is down.
    I called Apple and the support team had the same issue.
    All you can do is be patient.

    hello
    i just transferred few of my messages to a subfolder i created under saved messages folder. it contains 200 messages and now whenever i am opening it an error comes OPERATION FAILED TRY AGAIN LATER. The folder is also not appearing when i try to view it from pc by connecting it thru a data cable
    is there anyway to copy the contents of that folder to pc or to any other device?
    please help me out

    You can try restoring the factory settings using the code *#7780# if prompted select settings only and create security code or try using the 12345 security code. You did not mention your phone model - check that your cable is the correct one for your phone model by using the web search on the cable model or your phone accssories page.

    please help me...when i try to get into my Nokia 6111 inbox i get the message "operation failed, try again". i have tried resetting, and putting the battery and sim card back in but nothing changes..please help as i dont know what to do to fix it.... :-(

    same has happened to me.
    at first I had a broken massege inside my Inbox, which I couldn't delete not matter how I tried. I could access the inbox though.
    couple of months later I stopped being able to access the inbox, so I tried to delete all of the sms. 1 sms wasn't deleted but I could access the inbox again.
    right now I can access both inbox and sent items but when I go to the last message (by scrolling 1 time up) the same error occurs and it takes me out of the inbox/sent items folder. whenever I turn the cellphone off I get the error when trying to access either folder, but eventually it goes back to point where I can access but gives me error when trying to access the first oldest message.
    my cellphone is a 5300 xpress music.
    I'd rather exchange this one for an equivalent instead of getting it for repairs, but I'm not sure if the store where I bought it does that.

    Tried 'uninstall' in control panel. Unable to find MSN. Deleted Bing but when trying Ffox again got MSN & Bing
    If I use the Bing search engine it works and I can access the web
    but at a cost of time & intense irritation.

    After putting my site on the temporary server adobe muse provides with the option PUBLISH having no problems now ive made changes tonight and keep getting errors ive unistalled MUSE and re - downloaded latest version Im a paying subscriber and need this site on a temporary sever for meeting in the morning i  not impressed and ive also started a fresh with a site with just text and tried to do a test PUBLISH and again error meg can anyone help im really in stuck here

    I tried installing the software, but every time it does its "Site Survey" it fails. So I never even get to find my wireless network. How do I fix this?

    If you have WinXP you should un-install the Linksys Monitor and just re-install the adapter drivers...
    Un-install the adapter drivers/software from Programs menu...Leave the adapter connected to the PC and reboot your computer...After reboting the computer, when the Found New Hardware Wizard window appears, click Install the software automatically (Recommended) then click Next.
    NOTE: The Hardware Installation screen may appear indicating that the Adapter has not passed Windows Logo testing. Ignore the window and click Continue Anyway to proceed with the installation since the Adapter has been tested and found to work with Windows XP.When Windows has finished installing the driver, click Finish...The adapter drivers should be installed...
    Click on Start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click View Available Wireless Networks, see if you can locate your wireless network...If you find your wireless network, select it and attempt to connect...If your network is secured it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure you enter the correct network key and confirm it...It will connect...

    i bought an iphone 4s. icloud backups it into the cloud. than i brought it back to apple because of to noisy vibration.
    now i wanna delete the 100 mb backup but every time i get the message that the backup can not be deleted and i should try again later....
    what can i do? and why is it like this?

    I've been having the same problem, can't delete the backup file.
    Tried deleting it through iphone, ipad and PC.
    All of them show me the same error as mentioned above.

    Have you tried turning Touch ID off and then back on?
    If it continues to fail it is probably a hardware error and you will need to get it serviced.

  • I left my Mac at the store for it to complete a 16 hr. backup.  Yet, I still get the message that the backup has failed, try again later.  If this persists use Utility Disk to  repair.  I have done all of this and the Apple Genus said everything was ok.

    My question:  is it important that I seek further help with this backkup issue or just ignore it.  The 16 hr. backup at the Apple Store is accessable in the Time Machine.  I'm just concerned about the error message. 

    I did the verification, which indicated that the last backup was 0422 today.  However, when I opened my Mac, this morning at 0500, I still got the message that the backup was NOT performed, etc, etc. etc.
    The backup is made on the standard Tiime Machine.
    The next backup has already started as of 0518.  Let's see what happens.  This is strange.  Here is the time sequence: 0518    Backup started
                    0525     Mac. froze and color wheel would not allow me to access anything on the Mac,
                    0528     Backup continuted:  91.9 MB of 94.8 MB
                    0530     92.2 MB of 94.8 MB
                    0532     Backup stopped.  Message: Latest backup 4:22 Today.
    It seems to be functioning properly at this point.  I'm curious to see if I get the standard "The backkup was not performed because an error occured while copying files to the backup disk" message, later today.
    I appreciate your help.  I'll keep you posted as I may need your help again.
