#Site.URL# link in emails
Hi - we have a new link for newScale for Request Center and it is https instead of http. Now when we add a link to an email to the request center, it changes the https link back to the http link which doesn't work. Anybody have any ideas?

and this is what it changes to - which errs out when user clicks on link in email.

The #Site.URL# is standard in newScale and we know that it must live somewhere in the code, but we can't seem to find it to change it so

click url links embedded in email don't work. I tried the "fix" to go to thunderbird (email account) and follow tools-options-...but when I got to "advanced" it would not click. Clearing the "cache" seems to be important, but I'm not even sure that's the problem. It started to develop after I upgraded some add-on movie-audio feature to firefox. Since posting, I figured it out with a google search - to simply find a way to identify firefox as my "Default browser" - apparently, any time you update windows or do add-ons from Bill Gates, he makes your computer take IE the default browser - so the clicking doesn't work from email on firefox. So, I went into the control panel for "default programs" and clicked again to make Firefox the one, re-booted and everything works fine now. I suspect that many people will find this approach very helpful when they get frustrated with the same problem. Thanks google!

Unable to goto sites using links in emails and/ or web sites

I have a new SatelliteL455D-S5976 laptop, 'when I try to connect to a site via a link provided in email or on a website my computer does nothing. I took into consideration that I am a newbie, but I have good computer and internet usage bgackground. Just wondering if its possible there could be some issue with security protocols and accessibility.

how do you access your emails?
outlook? windows live mail? or thru internet explorer???
if internet explorer... try resetting it...
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset.
For outlook or windows live mail.. dunno.. dont encountered those problem with it... maybe just a setting within those program was disabled..

Enabling/disabling url links in email for 8830 series

Hi,
How can i enable/disable underlining/clicking of url info in an email. When someone sends an email with anchor tag/url info in the body of the message, by default it gets highlighted (and clickable). How can i turn this off (so that it is normal text) ?

Other than turning off HTML code you can't.
Go to the message queue, menu options. Select email settings.
Select Enable HTML Email to NO
Select automatically download images NO.

Video Freezes in Firefox. Also links from email don't work(404) (same link works in chrome)

Most videos freeze after 5-15 seconds if the mouse is not hovering (and moving) in the video window.
Also many sort URL links from email (Open in new Tab) fail with 404 error. Videos don't freeze and same links work fine in Chrome.
Searched problem using Google and followed several pieces of advice -- same problem.
Removed all add-ons and extensions - same problem.
Removed Firefox 24, Reinstalled using latest version 25 (import nothing) -- same problem
Replaced Firefox with version 22 and it seems to be working fine.

Hi, there are several things needed before that would work, your outside IP & maybe Port Forwarding if more than on computer is on your Modem.
You can find your outside IP here... what's my ip...
http://www.whatsmyip.org/
Then you'd need to setup file sharing & likely want the video in your Shared folder.
Putting it on YouTube or some other video sharing site may be easier.

How to change URL/link in cFolders email notification

Hi Folks,
We are on cFolders 4.5 accessed via Enterprise Portal. When a notification is generated (either manually or via a status transition), the email contains a URL link related to the cfolder object the notification pertains to. This URL points to the cFolders BSP application. How do we point this to the portal? We want all user to access cFolders via the portal and not BSP. Any way to achieve this?

How to send URL link along with text in an email using FM.

I am sending an e-mail for status notifications.
In the mail, the user will clik on the URL to do actions through the link.

Links from emails in MacMail no longer open sites on Firefox

Since updating Firefox, links from emails in MacMail no longer open sites on Firefox; I click on them, it goes to Firefox, but no page opens. Is this a problem caused by the latest security upgrade to Firefox? It happened immediately after I downloaded it. I'm running Mac OSX 10.6.6.

URL links for Workflow Approval Email per user & others

Hi all, we have upgraded to SRM7 and understand that we have to switch to using program /SAPSRM/OFFLINEAPPROVALSEND to generate the workflow notification emails. We have maintained the portal information in the SRM configuration to build the link. However, we have 2 issues here
1. We currently output collective email so emails are sent out at specific timing on a per user rather than per work item basis. The URL link does not seem to work in this case (for shopping cart approval example) and we get an object GUID error. The URL looks something like this
http://sap-ped.dev.xyz.com/irj/portal/?navigationtarget=obn://BOSystemAlias=SAP_SRM/BOTechnicalName=sc/Operation=detailprof&NavMode=3
Also, even if I run the program for a PO approval example, the BOTechnicalName is still pointing to sc.
However, if I do it on a per work item basis, the URL works.
Does anyone know where the control this setting?
2. External and internal portal
We have some users connecting to the portal through more secured channel (external portal). In this case, I couldn't find a way to generate the appropriate URL for the external. In the past in the older SRM version, the program was using the attribute ITS_DEST in PPOPMA_BBP to build the URL link. Now, I do not know how the system knows which portal URL to take if the control is no longer at user level.
Has anyone ever had this requirement before?
My worse case scenario to resolve the above issues would be to use the BADI to alter the content of the email notification. The purpose of posting this message here is to ensure that I am not missing out any standard SAP functionality which could meet our requirements.

URL links in outgoing email sre not clickable

Hello,
Before switching to the Classic, with my Torch 9810 I could send myself emails that included links, and when looking at the emails on a computer, the links were clickable.
Now with my Classic, the URL links appear as text.
Any of you know how to fix this?
My OS is 10.3.1.1779

One possible reason for differences between messages viewed in Firefox would be the format the sender used. For example, HTML and plain text messages may behave differently. In HTML, the link actually is in the message sent by the sender. In plain text, there are no links, but the desktop version of Outlook finds them and makes them clickable. Perhaps the same is true of the "Premium" version of OWA served to IE. Other browsers have long been second class citizens...
Maybe there is an add-on that fills in the missing functionality?

Email + url link on website cannot be printed

I have designed a website and have a resume page with my email and url link on the page. When i go to save as a file to desktop the resume appears as a png file that has no background to the opened resume file and the email link and url link have disappeared. Should i make my resume in word or PDF doc and import that in instead but I have a feeling the saved doc will also have the email not there. Do i have to turn the email and url off to have it save and print.

Send Mail with Long URL - Link getting split w/CR/LF in Email

I am using a send mail step and including a long URL so that the user can
access an Iview directly from the URL Link. The URL which is about 250 characters long is getting split across multiple lines in the MS Outlook Email therby losing the link (only the first line underlined). I am loading the container element contianing the link from a standard text and appending the necessary IView parmater to the end. I tried enclosing my URL within an href but that did not work wither. My current workaround is to code my own method
which sends the email but would rather using the standard Send Mail Step.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

On a webpage, how do you change a text based email address to an URL link?

I use to have an add-on that would take email addresses displayed as text in webpages display them as URL link. When I would click the URL link, it would open a new email message. What is the name of this add-on or how do I get this feature working in my browser again?

I don't recall using one, but I have heard about add-ons that "linkify" any URL in the page so it is clickable. Maybe they would also "linkify" an email address?
As a workaround, you could use bookmarklet. That's a script which you save as a bookmark so you can click the bookmark when you want to run it. Here's how:
(1) Select and copy the following script (it's actually one long line):

(2) Right-click a convenient location on your Bookmarks Toolbar or Bookmarks Menu and choose New Bookmark.
(3) Paste the script into the Location field. Then in the name field, you can type mailto or any name you like.
(4) Click the Add button
Here's an example for testing. Select the email address using the mouse:

Then click the bookmark. Success?

Firefoxopens when I click on a URL in an email, but it doesn't go to the site!

That is basically it. When I click on a URL in an email, Firefox opens, but does not go to the site requested.

I don't appear to have a toolbar either.
