Site won't show up in Safari, fine in Firefox. . ?

I do not have a .mac account. I publish to file and then upload. It's kind of annoying because each tiny change means i have to redo everything. But I have a huge free webspace so I need to do it that way.
I made revisions, really minor, just text and updating blog and suddenly my beta home page doesn't show up in Safari. It's fine in Firefox.
I decided to take the entire site off the server and then reupload. Done that twice now and still the same problem. Any ideas.
If it matters, the website is www.enzolombard.com if there's something in the code. I'm not great at this, but it was working quite well for a few months.
thanks

Yes - I've been having this problem in Safari 6.0.1 for a while now. I did what you recommended & by trial & error found that:
AdBlock Plus &
Google Disconnect
were the 2 Extensions that were stopping video links from displaying & playing within the web pages. So I've now canned them. Had a similar experience recently with another Extension (forget which one it was but it was screwing up my abilty to use a particular company's services online so I had to S**Tcan it too). These extensions seem quite a bit flakey for my liking.
Anyway video problem all solved now & thanks for the solution!

  • Site Doesn't Show Up In Safari

    I am having a bit of an issue. I built my site in iWeb, with no problems. I then published my site using .Mac, again experiencing no problems. My site was up and running for months with no real issues.
    Suddenly, my site can't be viewed in Safari. The page loads up, and all you see is a white screen. If you click the blank screen, my site appears. Then click on a link... and you get a white screen again. Only if you click on a totally blank white screen will the page appear. It does this only in Safari. I can view my site fine in Firefox and Explorer.
    (Try for yourselves... www.jeremyvanhoozer.com )
    Can anyone help or maybe throw a few suggestions my way?
    Much appreciated!

    I am still having this issue. I am pretty sure you are right about my site being forwarded (it is) but I am not with GoDaddy. I am with 1 and 1 hosting and they have checked out the issue and informed me that they can't do anything.
    If you are using Safari, my site loads as a white page.
    It also only seems to happen in Safari. Does anyone else have this problem using internet services other than GoDaddy? I am running out of options, other than the possibilty of not being able to forward my url.... which makes no sense.
    Help!

  • Web site won't open fully in Safari.

    Hello, not very tech savvy so please accept my apologies if this seems daft. The site, Friends of UTG,  doesn't appear to open fully in Safarie, nor in Firefox for that matter. I can't tell if it's the site or is it a quirk of Lion? Have heard that lion won't run flash etc but not sure at all of this.
    Thanks for any help or explanations.
    Alex

    Thanks for your reply and oops! http://friendsofutg.org/ should have included it earlier. There are menu's missing and links. These days on Safari there is a kind of prieview window to the right of the search results and it seems to display how the site should appear but you don't get that when you then go to the site from the search result.
    Hope that makes things a bit clearer,

  • TS3230 Images and Videos Won't Show Up In Safari?

    Hi,
    I've been having some trouble recently when I browse the web using Safari on my new mid-2012 MacBook Pro. Since sometime yesterday, all images have simply stopped loading on Safari, preventing me from viewing them at all. Websites only show up as text and some graphics (eg, boxes of color, outlines). I have recently been using some approved add-ons from the official Safari extensions gallery, but I have since uninstalled all of them. Is there any way I can prevent this from happening and be able to see these websites properly once again? Thanks! (PS I hope the images I uploaded are showing up, as I cannot see them myself)

  • Site won't show

    I have made changes to my "index" homepage in dreamweaver but
    when I "put" it to the remote site and then view the site I get a
    blank page, nothing happens. This is a recent development before
    I've successfully updated the site without any problems. I wonder
    is it anything to do with my new anti-virus software? I also cannot
    download Flash player or Quicktime because apparently I do not
    "have access to make the required system configuration
    modifications" although it is a home computer and I am the
    administrator?? Any help greatly appreciated.

    Delete your 'index' homepage from the remote site (what is
    this file's
    name?). Browse to it as you have done before. What happens?

  • Slide show works with Safari but not Firefox!

    I'm baffled: I was swapping out some new .jpgs for my site's looping photo slide show on the top of every page, everything was working fine 2 days ago and then... nada. I didn't change anything to cause it AND it displays fine with Safari. I'm pretty sure I have all my plug-ins up to date etc., so WTF?!?!?! Thank you.

    Perhaps "slideshow" isn't the best description (I am NOT a programmer). There are six images inside the wood-looking frame on the top of EVERY page, which used to cycle through on a loop. I can still see them with Safari, but although I didn't change anything when swapping out the jpgs a couple of days ago (and they worked fine until yesterday)... they're no longer viewable on Firefox. Again... WTF?!?!?

  • Flash Player not showing up in Safari Plug-ins/Firefox Add-ons

    OS: Mac OSX 10.4.11
    Safari version: 4.1.3
    Firefox version: 3.0.19
    I am trying to do an online training course, but the site tells me I need to install the Flash Player plug-in to be able to view the site. I downloaded the newest version, and thought I had installed it, but I still get the same message when I go to the course website, and Flash Player doesn't show up anywhere in my plug-in/add-on lists for Safari or Firefox. Is there something I'm not doing right? Is my computer just too outdated? Or is this more likely to be a problem with that website. I haven't noticed problems with any other site, but I confess I haven't really been looking. Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hello,
    Do you know if your computer is Intel or Power PC based?  If it's Power PC (sometime referred to as PPC) the last version of Flash Player for this architecture can be found here:  Flash Player 10.1.102.64
    Please download and extract the zip.  Navigate to and mount "/Flash Player 10.1.102.64/10_1r102_64/flashplayer10_1r102_64_ub_mac.dmg"  You should then be able to install using the normal procedure.
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • LinkedIn pages blank in Safari, fine in Firefox

    For you LinkedIn.com users out there, I'm having problems viewing LinkedIn profiles since I updated everything as far as my mac will let me:
    Mac Pro Intel Xeon: version 10.4.11
    Safari: version 3.2.1
    Java: version 1.5.0_16
    Flash: version 10.0.22.87
    Either the LinkedIn profile page turns white, or the flash banner (placed through javascript code) remains white. In Firefox those pages work fine.
    Any ideas what could have caused this to fail in Safari?

  • Iframe won't scroll! It works fine in FireFox, Chrome, and IE

    I wrote a simple holder to display websites writen for phones on larger screens. In it I simply have an Iframe. This works great for FireFox, Chrome, and IE (although IE does not work well with HTML5). However on Safari instead of scrolling the Iframe expands. Below is my holder page.
    I've been testing with an IPad 3.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Thanks for the help.

    User csdco (https://github.com/fancyapps/fancyBox/issues/2#issuecomment-5997068) has provided a simple answer that solved the issue for me.
    It's much easier to control overflowed divs than it is iframes, and the scrolling + blank content issues are working all the way back to iOS 4, where previously I wasn't even able to get the 2 finger scrolling to work (in iframes).
    It goes something like this:
    <iframe id="stupid-iframe" width="600" height="200" src="a-file.html"></iframe>
    a-file.html:
    <html>
    <body>
    <div id="wrapper" style="width: 100%; height: 100%; overflow: auto; -webkit-overflow-scrolling: touch;">
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

  • Search site description not showing results

    I have the site description set (from site setting-> title, description and logo) in the site but when i search the description, the site won't show up in results. we have the url covered in content source and crawl rule, and a full crawl ran, actually
    the page content can be searchable in the site.
    any idea?

    Hi Zhongmingzhao,
    As per my understanding, you had created site with description and when you search with created site description, you are not getting search results.
    Had you tried searching any documents in the site.
    Is there crawled propertied mapped.
    I recommend try searching with site name or any documents inside the site, hope that could help you.
    Thanks.

    Sorry if it's something really basic...I'm a noob to web design.
    Thanks!

    Don't use reserved words in JS
    var event = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("events.xml", "catalog/event", {sortOnLoad: "date", sortOrderOnLoad: "descending"});
    event is such a reserved word. If you change this to event1 then all is well.
    I hope this helps.

  • No media shown in Safari (Quicktime, Flash, etc. just won't show!!)

    About a few days ago I noticed that any website with flash, quicktime (incl. WMV Player) media just won't show! There is no controller, even when I open the movie directly in Safari. I reinstalled Flash, for example, and still nothing works. But, I know this is isolated to Safari, because flash and quicktime work in all my other browsers such as Camino, Firefox, and Opera.
    Can someone please help me find a way to fix this? It's really getting on my nerves because no flash or quicktime-enabled site works anymore!

    Yes- I just checked, and plug-ins were disabled. I enabled them, restarted, and they still wouldn't display because Safari didn't even change the preference (it was left unchecked). I simply trashed my Safari plist and voila! It works.
    Thank you very much.

    iTunes never displays the iPod in the left pane?
    iTunes is shipped with a "helper application" called the "iPod Service" that runs and is used by iTunes to communicate with the iPod device. This service may be disabled.
    If your system is Microsoft Windows XP and you are logged in as an Administrator:
    1. Quit iTunes and, if your iPod is currently connected to your computer, safely remove it using the system tray application to manage removable devices.
    2. Right click on "My Computer"
    3. Select "Manage"
    4. In the "Computer Management" window, left pane (tree view), follow this path:
    +Computer Management (local) > Services and Applications > Services+.
    5. In the right pane, scroll down to "iPod Service" and double click it.
    6. If the service is listed as "Disabled" and "Stopped," change to "Manual" and "Start" it. ("Manual" will cause it to start when iTunes starts and "Start" starts the service right now.)
    7. Close "Computer Management"
    8. Restart iTunes and wait for it to completely come up.
    9. Reconnect your iPod.
    Does your iPod show up in iTunes?

  • Flash site won't open on safari

    My site works on every browser except Safari for 2 days now. Before it worked perfectly. I tried many different computers and systematically it doesn't open any more. The page charges and stays white. On Explorer, Firefox and others it works normally.

    The HTML employed is very poor however I don't think this is the reason Safari shows a blank page. I'm wondering if either Safari or the Flash Player plug-in for Safari has determined a security risk since the main domain of the site is different to the domain of the flash movie. Technically speaking Safari has employed the correct behaviour since the HTML code does not specify allowDomain "xyz" .
