Site works in exception.sites but not DeploymentRuleSet?

Has anyone seen where a site will work when added to exception.sites but doesn't work in the DeploymentRuleSet.jar?
Same url   "https://host.mydomain.com:123/" or even if I use "*.mydomain.com" in DeploymentRuleSet, it still fails with a manifest error, which should be bypassed with the "permission=run" rule.  Trying to get by until the application is updated later this year.
Fails with both Java 7u75  or 8u40.  and both versions  work when I put the entry in exception.sites
I have a number of other sites in the DeploymentRuleSet.jar which work fine, this particular one just won't work.

Fascinating, Kirk (+he types with one raised eyebrow+).

I can see that. But for the life of me, I don't know what could be covering those links. In my app, when I click in the area of the links, the type is the first item selected. Unless, possibly, it could somehow be the faint reflection of my black-and-white image (me & the ground I stand on). Hmmm...

This I don't see. An outline? As in "an object outline," or as in "a list of dimensions and locations?" When I click outside my page contents, I get nothing.
Thanks, QTK. I truly appreciate your troubleshooting here.

  • Site works in the app, but not in the browser.

    Hello iWeb experts,
    I've got problems.
    Last night I published my site. And while it appears, and functions, properly in my iWeb app, it doesn't do the same in Safari, Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
    Two issues...
    FONTS
    I chose Bellamie, Univers Condensed, and Marydale as my fonts. From reading these forums, I've discovered those won't wysiwyg on other computers if the fonts aren't available and open on them. So my two choices are to make every bit of text a graphic or to use a set of more universal fonts, correct? So my questions are...One, is there a list somewhere of fonts that will work in any browser? And, two, is there a short-cut, or easy way to transform type into a graphic without having to create image files?
    FUNCTIONS
    Here are the functions that work fine in iWeb but have gone haywire in all of the browsers I tested...
    • The type in one nav link appears smaller than all the rest.
    • Some links are active, others are not.
    • Rollover highlighting works on some links, but not others.
    • Most of the rollover links appear in the proper static color, a few do not.
    I've tested these functions on three Macs, one PC, and in the three browsers mentioned above. All of them show the exact same problems. So something must be going wrong with iWebs coding, or my host server musn't like iWeb.
    Any thoughts, suggestions on these two issues? Thanks much for any advice.

  • Sites work using manual proxy but not with automatic detect

    I asked this in the ISA forum but they said since the WPAD file isn't generated by ISA to cross-post over here.
    We have an ISA 2006 build 5.0.5712 operating as our web proxy. We have WPAD configured both in DNS and in DHCP to point to this ISA server. There are two sites (rentsentinel.com and epmsonline.com) which when we use the 'Automatically detect settings' option
    in IE8, it either gives red X's in part of the homepage (rentsentinel), or doesn't show the page at all (epms). If we manually specify the proxy settings for this same server, it works fine. It would also appear that one can browse fine on random sites, but
    once we attempt to browse to one of these two sites,  that further browsing to other sites no longer works, even those we visited in the same browsing session.
    If I manually specify the http://wpad/wpad.dat file in the config field, no change in behavior. But if I use that same entry in Firefox, both websites render fine. Our wpad.dat is included below, with our internal domain
    name switched to domain.com.
    I'm looking for help on getting these sites working correctly with automatic detection. Thanks!

    Hi,
    Sorry for the late response.
    Since the issue is complex and difficulty to troublshooting, we discussed for some time corssing the specialty. Here is some direction we may let you know to do further troubleshooting:
    capture network trace to confirm whats happening across the wire.
    confirm the wpad.dat is the expected.
    If you have any difficulty when doing this, we suggest you to contact with IT Pro Support via the link below:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/ms772425?WT.mc_id=SMCfoot_ENUS_TEXT
    I think it can help you define the root cause via some deeper tools due to the complicated symptom you have.
    I appreciate your understanding and time.
    Best Regards,
    Annie Gu

  • My site works in Composer preview, but not on the web.

    I have just created a site w/ composer(through mozilla) and it works when i preview the index.html in the mozilla browser. So I am now using the fetch demo to ftp transfer my files to my domain(www.swansondesignline.com) which i registered through nameroute.com. when i view my page everything works except for my images. yes, they are all .jpeg & .gif....no, there are no spaces in the file names....no, i have not changed the location of these files. any help?

    Looks fine here too. However, since this discussion forum is for iWeb, you may find better support in a forum that is specifically for composer.

  • IWeb 08 - my site works on my laptop, but is MEGA slow on a Windows machine

    My iWeb constructed site - published to a folder, then uploaded to my domain using Transmit (which is fully functional!) works on my laptop(s) but is MEGA slow on a Windows machine....and considering there's a lot of 'sheep' using Windows out there...AND the website involved is a business (a shop) www.ukdk.dk then I'm losing some business.
    What could be the problem?
    It works on BOTH my 2 Mac laptops (a G5 & a G4) , I've checked with the web-host/provider and all is fine there. When I used my old G4 to construct a website there was no problem of this manner. It's since iWeb 08 has been used.
    I've got the latest updates, have slimmed down the website to 'try' and make it faster (which takes away it's groovey look, which detracts the charm of the site so that's a bloomin' nuisance) and have done everything within my power/knowledge to sort this. To no avail.
    HELP!

    The business is a shop. A small one. Even before (note: BEFORE) I let anyone at all know about the site's existence I checked it out on both a Mac - my own 2 - and a dreaded Windows machine. Worked fine with Mac, but not with Windows. This isnt with any traffic other than MYSELF visiting the site! I'd love to hear of other iWeb '08 users and their sites so I can check them out to see if they have the same problem. It's strange that I didn't get this when using my iBook G4's iWeb software.
    Maybe I'll try transfering the domain file from laptop (New MacBook with iWeb '08) to laptop (Old iBook G4 with older version of iWeb) and seeing if that helps. A thorough pain in the backside if so, but at least the site will be working!
    "Technical support!!!" Lol.
    Just as an aside....what are the settings I should use at my host/web-hotel for optimum performance? I have them set already, but I want to double & triple check 'em. Better safe than sorry etc.
    Thanks in advance!!! :))

  • Windows 8.1 64bit. Webcam works with "Camera" app but not with Skype.

    I've spent a few hours googling and trying out various things - all listed below. I give up - any ideas??? OS: Windows 8.1 64bitMemory: 32GBWebCam: Microsoft VX-7000. As per subject - the webcam works with the "Camera" app but not with Skype for desktop or for Modern UI (or the Microsoft Lifecam software for that matter).  Already attempted: 1) Uninstall webcam drivers - download latest from microsoft (Windows 7) and install in Windows 7 compatibility mode.2) Close (from taskmgr) anything that looks like it might use Webcam. 3) Run Skype for Desktop in Windows 7 and 8 compatibility modes None of the above work. In Skype for Modern UI the webcam doesn't appear in the drop down in Settings - so I can't even select it. In Skype for desktops (version 6.11.32.102) the webcam is found but instead of image I get "Can't start video. Try closing other programs that might be using your webcam". I see from a bit of googling that various people seem to have the same issue (i.e. Webcam works with Camera app but not Skype) - so I'm hopeful someone has found a workaround / fix to this issue and I've just not had the googling skills to find it  Thanks, - Matt Symes

    OK - I appear to have resolved the issue.  I restricted my google terms to [vx-7000 site:microsoft.com "windows 8.1"] Which uncovered this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933311 I noticed there were a couple of Windows 7 x64 specific registry settings that were mentioned so I checked these and they weren't as per the article. In fact - one of the Registry Keys was already used by other software "AI Charger+" which is some ValueAdd software that came with my motherboard. I uninstalled AI Charger+, uninstalled LifeCam driver. Reinstalled LifeCam driver in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Still not working. I returned to the registry and noticed the settings still differed from the above article. I corrected them (which involved not just amending Data but having to add new Values). I then disabled and reenabled the LifeCam from dvcmgmt.msc I was then able to get video from the webcam in the Skype for Desktop preview screen.

  • Actionscript works in IDE,projector but not SWF

    Hello, I'm atempting to create a swf that loads in a
    controller swf and accesses some of the information contained
    within the load swf. My main timeline is pretty simple.
    var preloader_mc:MovieClip =
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("preloader_mc",
    this.getNextHighestDepth());
    var labelcontainer:MovieClip =
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("container", this.getNextHighestDepth());
    var label:TextField = labelcontainer.createTextField("label",
    1, 0, 365, 150, 20);
    var TOCcontainer:MovieClip =
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("TOCcontainer",
    this.getNextHighestDepth());
    var TOClabel:TextField =
    TOCcontainer.createTextField("TOClabel", 1, 0, 300, 150, 20);
    then I have an onenter frame function that access the
    variable contained within the loaded swf.
    loadMovie("xml_controller.swf", preloader_mc);
    onEnterFrame = function () {
    vTime =
    this.preloader_mc.container.controlBar.timeView.label.value;
    this.label.text = vTime
    When I test the movie I see the time displayed and everything
    is ok. When I create a projector file I see the time display. When
    I try to run the swf, in a browser or straight from explorer All I
    see is undefined for the values.
    Anybody have any ideas why this would work in two
    environments but not the third?

    I saw this issue with a website I did. Sometimes the code
    would work no problem in the projector but fail when I published to
    the site.
    Does the xml_controller.swf refer to _root anywhere? If you
    have not locked the root and there is something it needs to access
    locally it won't be able to find the item because the _root it is
    referring to is now the load.swf movie

  • Superdrive works on XP/bootcamp but not on OSX?

    So, I've been through this a billion times. Even time-machined & formatted. But nothing works..
    I went through about 200 DVD's trying to put together a proposal for school and it kept failing to burn. With Toast, Disk Utility, Drag&Drop notta. Finally pulled the data onto my external, booted into Windows using boot camp, used nero, and worked without a Hitch.
    I've tried every trick on this site and on every other site possible. Tech support says that i'm free to pay em to replace the drive and tried arguing with em bout the bootcamp working etc.. (long story), but eh... fail! (mac support = worse then windows at this point)
    I have a hard time feeling this is a Hardware issue since it works on the Windows BootCamp partition but not on the Mac OSX 10.5.4 partition.

    After spending three days reading in this forum i havn't found anything that works or similar to someone saying it works in bootcamp partition but not osx... sooo just curious if anyone's got any ideas worth while..
    thanks!

    There is no way to do this and I don't believe Apple would view this as an "issue"; in my humble opinion, it is because iMacs have a gorgeous display (your choice of 21.5 or 27") and therefore were not necessarily designed to be used with a second display, whereas laptops were - hence the available option to use it in clamshell mode:

    Edit: You can create a totally black image and use that as your desktop picture if you like.

  • Flex mobile 4.6 app works inside flash builder but not in android emulator

    Originally posted on stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8663892/flex-mobile-4-6-app-works-inside-flash-builder- but-not-in-android-emulator
    I have a basic flex mobile 4.6 app and it works fully fine in the flash builder built-in emulator using an android device profile like aria...
    It also launches fine in the android emulator but one particular view shows blank (and this view works fine in flash builder).
    Before I get in to many details of the view are there any categorical gotchas that can be causing this?
    I can't seem to get the trace statements from the app to show in 'adb logcat'. It seems I need to compile a debug version of the apk but I don't know how to do this. I use the 'Export Release Build' from the Project menu in flash builder and it doesn't seem to have an option for debug=true.
    The problematic/blank view basically uses the stagewebview and iotashan's oauth library to call linkedin rest apis... A different (and working) view can make restful web service calls in the emulator fine, so it doesn't seem to be an internet permission.
    The source code contained in the problematic/blank view is almost identical to the tutorial found at:http://www.riagora.com/2011/01/air-and-linkedin/
    The differences are: a) The root tag is a View b) I use StageWebView instead of HtmlContainer c) I use my own linkedin key and tokens.
    I would appreciate it if someone can provide me with some pointers on how to troubleshoot this situation. Perhaps someone can tell me how to debug the app while running in the emulator (I think I need the correct adt command arguments for this which matches the 'Export Release Build' menu but adds the debug param?)
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Comment Added:
    I suspect that this has to do with connections to https:// api.linkedin.com and https:// www.linkedin.com. The only reason I can think of that the same code is not having issues inside of Flex Builder but indeed having issues in the Android emulator is something to do with certificates. Any ideas?

    Thanks er453r,
    I have created a project that clearly reproduces the bug.  Here are the steps:
    1) Create a UrlLoader and point it to https://www.google.com (HTTPS is important because http works but HTTPS does not)
    2) Load it
    3) Run in Flash Builder 4.6/Air 3.1 and then run in Android emulator.  The former works with an http status 200.  The latter gives you an ioerror 2032.  I am assuming what works in Flash Builder is supposed to work in the Android Emulator and what what works in the emulator is supposed to work in a physical device (plus or minus boundary conditions).
    I see a certificate exception in adb logcat but not sure if it's related...
    Here is the self contained View code which works with a TabbedViewNavigatorApplication:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:View xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"

    As for tracking the source of your problem your applet sucks.
    Try e.printStackTrace() on a cought exception and check the (full) trace.
    url=new URL("http://www.developpez.com");
    Unless yor applet is on www.developpez.com this will throw an exception in an unsigned
    applet without special policies.

  • 'exception thrown but not caught' error on the url iview

    Hi,
    EP6, we have url iview that is working fine for displaying a web application. but the problem is some of the link on the web application throws 'exception thrown but not caught' error. it happens to some of the users though.

    Hi Mokone
    I agree with Raghvendranath statement.
    This is not portal side problem.U just using URL of that application
    Also do this
    Open the URLiView editor and check the Fetch Mode property value.
        Launch the same URL in a new browser window (not in the portal).
        Change the URLiView Fetch Mode property from Server-Side to Client-Side.
        The iView is using the Server-side fetching mode but no proxy is defined for the portal
    Hope this info help you
    Regards

  • Adobe Flash 10.1 works on admin login but not other logins

    Latest Adobe Flash 10.1 (7/25/10) works on admin login but not other logins despite being installed "for all users". No change from 32-bit to 64-bit Internet Explorer 8 running under Windows 7. Repeated uninstalls/reinstalls/reboots has no effect. Using online uninstaller also has no effect. User Account Control is OFF. Interestingly enough, the same situation occurs on another computer with the same environment except running Vista. Any thoughts would be helpful to [email protected] Thank you!

  • How do I troubleshoot installation/distribution of a LabVIEW .exe which processes data using Matlab when it works on some computers but not others?

    I've been given the unenviable task of troubleshooting and installing/distributing software written by a former co-worker. I've modified the LabVIEW code and built an .exe file. I've successfully installed the Labview .exe file on several computers, but it won't work on some others. What's more baffling is that I installed it successfully on one computer, uninstalled it, and tried reinstalling it with no success. In fact, it's a new error (Dr. Watson for Windows NT application error). It doesn't help that I have different versions of LabVIEW and Matlab on the target computers. Some have LabVIEW 5.1, some
    have 5.0, and some don't have it at all. Some have Matlab 5.2, some have 5.3 (R11) and some have 6.0 (R12). It's also not clear to me where the Matlab m files should be located. I'm not sure if it's a LabVIEW Runtime Engine problem, or if it's a Matlab problem. I've also wondered how LabVIEW and Matlab talk to each other. When LabVIEW calls Matlab, it seems that Matlab is running in the background. In other words, clicking on the Matlab Command Window and typing "whos" or any other command/variable doesn't work.
