Sitemap to Bing WebMaster tools

Hi,
What is the best way to submit and verify a BC site in Bing Master Tools? I was able to due it in Googol by placing googol's provided code by adding a BC's Advance DNS record.
Thanks

That is an odd way to do it. With any of them, The meta tag with the code is the most reliable and easiest way to do it. Just use the instructions provided by Bing.

  • Flex 3 & Google Webmaster Tools' Keywords

    Hi,
I've got a Flex 3 website. Unfortunately, Google Webmaster Tools lists zero keywords for my site. My site's been up for about a month. I submitted a sitemap. I've put a description and keywords metatags in the HTML wrapper.
Any advise on what else I should do?
Does anyone have a Flex 3 site for which Google Webmaster Tools lists keywords?
    Thank you.
    -Laxmidi

On my site, all Google does is extract "keywords" from the page title for Webmaster Tools. So, I only end up with two keywords! The page ranking uses the keywords you put into the META tags, and I get good results with page ranking. AFAIK, they are not the same thing. Try using desired keywords in the page title, but don't go overboard or they will penalize you.

  • Webmaster tools change of address 301 redirect failed using domain forward

I'm having trouble with webmaster tools recognising our domain name change.
We've recently updated website and done a name change from www.qldtshirt.com.au to www.qtco.com.au. I am using domain forwarding so qldtshirt.com.au forwards to qtco.com.au (aswell has with www.) and every thing works perfectly.
    www.qldtshirt.com.au/products/polo-shirts/cool-dry-fabric forwards to:
    http://www.qtco.com.au/products/clothing/polo-shirts/cool-dry-fabric
We have about 4000 301 redirects setup in URL Redirects:
    /products/business-and-corporate/desk-and-office/100-organic-cotton-pencil-case to
    /products/gifts-incentives/desk-and-office/100-organic-cotton-pencil-case
    so on and so on....
I've verified all sites in webmaster tools however when change of address from www.qldtshirt.com.au to www.qtco.com.au webmaster tools presents this error:
"301 redirect failed. We detect that the root address of your old site (www.qldtshirt.com.au) does not yet redirect to the root address of your new site (www.qtco.com.au). For more information use the Fetch as Google tool."
It works perfectly fine for the end user, anyone know why and how to fix please?

Hi, I have found this same situation.  Did you have any luck finding a solution?
    Thank you

  • When I open Yahoo email and try to compose an email, the Bing search tool is in the body of the email field.

In IE I don't have the problem but in Firefox, when I open my yahoo mail and try to compose - that damn Bing search tool is right in the body of the email and I can't type an email. If I do type, my cursor size is the height and color of the Bing type which is large and light colored and you can't read the email. What a pain in the ass. Whoever is responsible for these pr0blems ought to be sent to a war zone. In their underwear.

  • Adobe Muse site and Google Analytics/Webmaster Tools

Ok, so this is my first time attempting to utilize Google Analytics/Webmaster Tools, etc. onto a Muse website. It gives me an html code that I am supposed to add to my website. Without using the Edit > Insert Custom HTML, I need to actually go into the site Code and add it manually. For example, the Google Webmaster basically wants me to add a "google1234567890.html" page to my site, so I need to actually be able to upload a .html to act as a page on my muse site so that it can verify the "www.domain.google1234567890.html if one were to visit it like a page. Additionally, with Google Analytics, it requests you add a custom html code to each page you want to "track". The Edit > Insert HTML does not work with these tools. So ultimately, how can I access my actual HTML code in order to add these manually to each web page, AND have it Publish?

  • Adobe Muse - submitting sitemap error

    Good morning,
I am having an issue when trying to submit a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools - It is coming back with the error 'Network unreachable: robots.txt unreachableWe were unable to crawl your Sitemap because we found a robots.txt file at the root of your site but were unable to download it. Please ensure that it is accessible or remove it completely.'
I don't have a robots.txt file in my folder so I'm not sure what's going on...
    Thanks in advance,
    Tom.

Hi Tom, sorry for the delay
I found some known issue for these errors, according to google webmaster tools
This can happen when Googlebot encounters a time-out or other network related issue when requesting a file from your site, and thus is forced to abandon the request. This can be caused by one or more of the following:
Excessive page load times due to dynamic pages taking too long to respond
Excessive page load times due to a site's hosting server being down, overloaded, or misconfigured
The hosting server is blocking Google's web-crawler
    A DNS configuration issue.
in short, ask our host, to make sure robots.txt file is not restricted. Also confirm, make sure you have robots.txt for each site.
I was unable to access this file for any site above. So either it is restricted or does not exist.
Do let me know if you have any question.

  • How to do a sitemap

Hey guys, i was reading online that submitting a sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools is a good idea. But how do i go about doing so? Help is appreciated, thanks

The hidden page is a page that I added to the website but did not include in the navbar.  With it's text based links to the other pages and being part of the website it allows the sitemap creator to access all of the pages from that page and create a site map.
For my Demo_2 site this is what the site map looks like.  The first entry is the hidden page, SMP.  The pages are in bold.

If i replace my existing website with new website made in adobe muse on same domain will google search it?

    Hi,
If Google has already indexed your site, it will keep checking your site, but make sure you update sitemap in google webmaster tools, if you have some new pages in new site, google will index them and if you have some pages renamed or removed asked google to remove it. • Displaying Video in Google Search Results

    Hello,
I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right place. So I appologise if I have it wrong.
I am trying to get my video thumbnail to appear along with my website in Google Searches. I have found examples of the HTML markup and the video sitemaps and modified them to suite my needs, I have included the HTML into my website and uploaded the sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools a couple of weeks ago. However, the video still doesn't apppear in the Google Searches. I used Dreamweaver CS6 to embed the video file into my HTML4 website. Google has accepted the sitemap and everything seems to be ok, except that it still doesn't display in the Google Searches.  I have placed the code I used below. Can someone please help me with where I have gone wrong.

    Thanks,

@Ken: Good find! I didn't look into the code in detail.
@potzki: No, your markup for sitemap seems fine. But like Ken said, the image is not available on the server. Also, do note that the sitemap is only an 'indicator' for Google and will help Google in understanding how your site is laid out - since it is you, the sitemaster, that creates the sitemap and pushes it to Google. But, it's not end of the road for Google. It will cache other areas of your site - unless you've explicitly told Google not to using robots.txt file.
One more observation - your domain name is like way tooooooo long - forget google, for regular people to type into. Is there a specific reason you chose this one rather than a short, concise one?

  • Url site problem

I am using RAGE SEO tools and sitemap automator to get better response from google searches. When trying to verify my site with sitemap and google webmaster tools I have a problem. When asked to verify my site with the google HTML http://www.gilreathdecorativefinishes.com/site/googlec981e0053d9a236c.html you are directed to my "site" in iweb which is blank I don't understand why? In iweb
the next page is my Welcome page which is fine. What do I need to do to get "site" as a welcome page not blank. By the way before SITE was gilreath decorative finishes so then the url was double when pulled up and that looked stupid.

The reason that page is blank is because there is nothing on it. Google only requires you to upload it so that they know that your site actually belongs to you. In turn, Google with then allow you access to certain private information about your site. So when you upload that file, googlec981e0053d9a236c.html, it is mainly just so Google knows that you actually own your site as you say.

  • Where can I get a sitemap from my muse website that is acceptable to Google webmaster?

I went to the domain www.albuquerquepoolcovers.com/sitemap.xml and that returned a string which I tried to submit to Google webmaster tools but it is rejected. Not really sure why. Does anybody know what to do to get a suitable sitemap for Google? Shawn

Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

    Hi,
There can be different reason for this. Google and Bing have totally different algorithm to index sites. So it is not necessary if your site is doing good in one search engine, it will do the same in other as well. Even google doesn't guarantee

  • Index.html not being indexed? do i need it in sitemap

hi i have nearly finished my website http://www.uniquepcrepair.co.uk and for some reason the index page is not being indexed in search engines?
when i type site:www.uniquepcrepair.co.uk it returns 3 pages but not the home page.
i have submitted a site map with 5 pages in it and wondering if its because i have included the index.html in the site map?? do i need index.html in the sitemap as that is already the homepage? thanks.
here is a copy of the sitemap
    http://www.uniquepcrepair.co.uk/sitemap.xml

Osgood, Google is the 800-pound gorilla. According to Hitwise, around 91% of search is Google (combining google.co.uk and google.com).
I realize that some of the websites I design won't work well in Internet Exploder version 6. But it's 6% of the total number of browsers out there and I would rather write code for mobile than worry about microsoft's least-compatible web browser. By the same token, why would one fret about chasing less than 9% of search engines?
Furthermore, because Google's algorithms seem to be doing so well, I'll bet the Bings, Yahoos and Asks of the world are ignoring the meta tags as well.
Content is king. Make sure all of your image files have alt tags will full descriptions. Refresh the website regularly with new content. I tell my clients to republish anything written about them in the press on their website. Additionally, several of my clients regularly publish articles and then republish them on their website.
A website that expands, as to content, will rise in the search engine rankings. And this may take a while. I have one client who is a landscaper who whined constantly about his competitor being above him in the rankings. By and large you cannot change the position of your rankings in a day. But you can over time. My client followed my advice. He added to his website and had me do a rebuild that took out frames and tagged every photo. Since he's a landscaper, there is not a lot of text on the website—but there is a lot of textual information in alt tags and descriptions of photos. All of that is picked up on search engines and, as a result, he gets over 1600 unique visitors in winter months (he doesn't do snow plowing) rising to over 4,000 in July. He generally books to capacity by June and his business has doubled year over year—every year—since I took over his website in 2010. His web traffic in summer has doubled as well, year over year.
He no longer complains about his competitor.
Sign on to Google and use Google's Webmaster Tools to let Google know about the website. Upload an XML sitemap. Seriously consider any suggestions Google may make for the website. And allow a little time to work its magic.

  • Xml-sitemap help

I am using a website called www.xml-sitemaps.com to create a sitemap for my site. I am a bit stuck to what to do after i have typed in my domain and its come up with lots of different links. Do i just save my sitemap.xml file next to my web pages in dreamweaver then and upload it into my servers public folder?
Also say i add a new page to my page in the future, do i then have to make a new sitemap or do something else?
Google doesnt seem to be indexing my site and i heard making a sitemap MAY help.
    thanks in advance.

Upload your sitemap to the same folder as your domain name home page (index.html).
    Go to Google Webmaster Tools.
    http://www.google.com/webmasters/
Set up an account if you don't already have one.  Tell Google where to find your XML sitemap.
NOTE:http:// WWW.domain.com is NOT the same as http://domain.com.  Use whichever is applicable to your site.
Once indexed, any new pages you add should be findable through the links on your site.
