Siteminder timeout when IISProxy used for header authentication

I'm wondering if anybody came across similar problem. I'm testing "header authentication" with J2EE 6.40. It works, but Sitemider is timing-out user session too fast (within 5 min) due to missing SMSESSION cookie.
Environment
- Windows 2000, IIS 5.0, SiteMinder ISAPI WebAgent, Version 5.00 QMR07, Update HF-04, Label 228
Scenario:
- Siteminder ISAPI agent is installed as the highest filter in ISAPI stack and agent is setup to protect a URL /webdynpro
- Iisproxy filter below Sitemider acts as proxy that redirects requests for /webdynpro to J2EE server

1. Edit the log file
\inetpub\scripts\IisProxy.xml and change all entries that refer to the log level as follows: log level=3
2. Restart the 'World Wide Web Publishing' service.
3. Reproduce the problem to be analyzed.
check the logs to determine whether the SMSESSION header is handled properly by IISProxy.

This may also be due to the Sudden Termination feature built into OS X, which will effectively quit a process if the system is demanding resources. Mail can be a RAM hog at times, and if your system only has a few GB of RAM, then when other programs demand more and you have not been using Mail then the system will invoke Sudden Termination to quit it so more RAM is available elsewhere.
Do you have only ~2-4GB of RAM in your system? Check for this in the About This Mac option in the Apple menu, and if so then consider upgrading to more if your system supports it. Alternatively you can try quitting other applications to free up more RAM.
To see which programs are using the most RAM, open the Activity Monitor utility and choose My Processes from the drop-down menu. Then ensure Real Memory is checked in the View > Columns menu, and click this menu's title to sort the items by it.
Keep in mind that sudden termination does not fully quit the program, so Mail may still show up in Activity Monitor when you open it even though it may be closed from the Dock.

IIsProxy version for windows authentication

We are in the process of installing windows authentication to our EP 6.0 portal. We are running on SP 11 J2EE with portal SP 11 patch 3.
The first question I have in document Using Header variables or Integrated Windows Authentication section Installing the IIsProxy module says for security reasons we need to install version 1.7.0.0. Was this version released, we cannot find it on the service market place?
My second question, when we use version IISPROXY16_2-10001433.SAR the authentication mechanism works fine to the portal but I cannot navigate within the portal, it looks like the screen get stuck on the first Iview no matter what role you choose. When we use version IISPROXY15_0-10001969.SAR things work fine. I increased the trace while using IISProxy 16.2 but there were no errors in the logs. We would like to be on the latest version. Any idea what might be the problem?

I have made this configuration a couple of times without problems (other iisproxy version), but for some reason this time is not working and Im totally desesperated =(
Scenario:
- 1st server, win 2003, iis 6.0: Iisproxy 1.6.2 installed, it forwards the requests correctly
- 2st. server, ibm with aix, sap ep 6.0 sp12. Configurations made for NT authentication.
The problem:
For some reason the virtual directories defined in IisProxy.xml file are not taking the IIS Security Settings (Integrated Windows Authenticated). The iisproxy is just forwarding the request, but the IIS is not making the NT authentication.
If I change the name of the virtual directory in the IisProxy.xml file (put any name). In this case, IIS applies the security settings correctly.
Any clue about this ?

I don't know for your special case (this transaction) but in a user exit you can have access to global variables by using field-synbols.
Declare a constant like this:
constants : c_program3(30) TYPE c VALUE '(NameOfTheProgram)t_data'.
You can dynamic assign of fiel symbols to get this global variable in your user exit.
field-symbols : <k> type any,
<l> type any.
ASSIGN c_program3 TO <k>.
ASSIGN (<k>) TO <l>.
if <l> is assigned.
endif.
So if in your program you have the all your items stored in a global variable, you can then modify all of them.

DELL XPS 12 BSOD when not used for several minutes

since one month I'm experiencing a strange behavior from my DELL XPS 12 9Q33, Mid 2013 with Windows 8.1 Pro. When the notebook is left unattended for more than 5 minutes, it freezes with the BSOD with two different causes: KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_EXCEPTION

What to do with Time Capsule when not using for Wireless Internet

I previously connected my Time Capsule to my fiber optic router but in my no home this is no longer needed as the cable TV company now provides 160 MPS Internet in a router that contains a wireless router built in. It works fine. My computer is now connected wirelessly to that router (too far to take advantage of the wired connection).
Therefore I want my Time Capsule to just be connected to the computer for backups. I gather I have to connect it via Lan and make sure it does not transmit r receuve wirelessly. In fact, other wireless computers in the huse occasionally try to log into the old Time Capsule PPoE settings, so I want to erase them and start fresh.
This seems to be similar to what I want t do, but I want to make sure and ask:

By the way, I have a first generation Aiport Express that I hope to use with my new cable router (modem?). I assume it will work as it did with the Time Capsule. Purpose is for Airplay with an audio system.

Ok, this is what I have:
Wall--> Cable modem with wireless (Motorola SURFboard SBG6580J Wireless Cable Modem Gateway.)
Other Room IMAC connected wirelessly to Cable Modem (no Ethenet connection to it since there is no jack and too far to run a cable (permanently--I can do for setup if needed)---> connected to TC and Time Capsule is backing up ok. Time Capsule is also not connected to the Modem

Yes, This is what I am wondering. Do I have to connect it by LAN to the Motorola? A few times, when it was just plugged into the Wall, my Mac airport utility found but them could not connect to my Express. maybe because I did not configure it to work with the Motorola as you say.

Flash Player uses excessive memory when in use for a long time.

Good morning,
I'm using firefox with flash player viewing streaming video from www.bloomberg.com/tv/us.The longer this runs the more user memory it uses (from Windows Task Manager, Processes tab).
I had this site running for about 4 houres and at that time it was using 1.7 GB memory and the video was getting eratic. This shows up in a file called "plug-incontainer.exe". I terminated the process and flash player disappeared with a message the said "flash player has crashed".
It doesn't matter if I use Flash Player 10 or 11 or Firefox 3.6 or 21.01.
This also occurs with Internet explorer Ver. 8 except it's manifested in a second instance of Iexplore. Same creeping memory useage.
OS is Windows Xp sp2, processor is a 3GHz hyperthreading P4 with 2GB of installed memory.
I really don't think it should do this.

My iPad 3rd Generation significantly drains the wifi when in use for other members/devices using the same wifi in the house. Does anyone know why? How it can be resolved? Or is it even an iPad problem or a router problem.

It it's only happening on one specific account, that means something about that account is causing the problem. Sounds obvious, right? But the implications and how to fix it aren't necessarily obvious.
It's not likely to be third-party kernel extensions causing the problem, since those will run for all user accounts. If it's a third-party software issue, it's going to be something that is running on just that account. First place to check is your login itmes (System Preferences -> Accounts). Remove items you don't need from that list, and if that doesn't help, remove ALL items from that list.
If that still doesn't help, there's one other thing to check. There are things called LaunchAgents that can be used to keep specific tasks running (possibly re-opening them if they crash or are made to quit by the user), run them at specific times, etc. In the Finder's Go menu, hold down the option key and choose Library. In that folder, find the LaunchAgents folder. What's in there? You can move all the items there temporarily to a folder on the desktop (or anywhere else), then log out and log back in. Does that fix the problem?
Of course, it sounds like the account you're using may be so badly messed up that you can't perform these checks. And the problem may not be third-party software anyway, it could be something that has gotten badly corrupted in your user account, and that can be difficult or impossible to pin down. If you have another admin account that you can use, it may be easiest to simply start using that account, and delete the one that's not working. For some help moving files from one account to the other, see:

Also, regardless of what the problem is and how you solve it, since one possibility is some kind of corruption, it wouldn't be a bad idea at all to repair your hard drive with Disk Utility.

How to store printer when not used for extended period.

Printer will remain in unheated summer cottage. I plan to remove print head with cartridges for storage in a heated home. Will the cartridges dry out and/or would ink congeal in printhead as one instruction says not to remove cartridges until ready to replace with new. Any suggestions?

Icloud control panel disables photostream when itunes used for backup?

So thanks to this issue (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4782118), I decided simply to use iTunes to manually backup once a day until my 90 days has "reset" (see that thread to see what I'm referring to).
However, it would appear that the iCloud control panel will no longer sync up with my photostream - is this just a coincidence or is that the norm once you choose to use iTunes for backup within iTunes, instead of iCloud? Photostream is now greyed out in the control panel...

In order to get mine working in the same situation, I had to delete both the iCloud data file and the [email protected] e-mail account. Once that was accomplished, I was able to get the iCloud installer to close Outlook and install itself correctly. Trying to recreate the accounts again from within Outlook was not the solution and resulted in this error.

When in a runtime, it's keep appear a dialog box. This dialog box ask me to suppy Server, User ID, Password and Database. Once all information is supplied, my report display the data as expected

I change my report using OLE DB (ADO) -> Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server -> checked on Integrated Security. I just choose Server, and Database. I assume me using Windows Authentication
When in a runtime, there's no dialog box as above. My report display the data as expected. really cool
Look's like, when report using SQL Server Authentication there's some problem. but, when report using Windows Authentication, it's fine.
I'm looking for comment. Please help me

MS SQL Server 2008 requires you to install the MS Client Tools for 2008.
Once install then update all of your reports to use the SQL Native 10 as the OLE DB driver.
The try again, if it still fails search, lots of sample log on code in this forum.
