Laserjet pro 200 color mfp m276nw network folder setup on PC Windows 7
I am trying and trying and trying to setup my Network Folder Setup and I either get the message that there is an error with the file path or an error with my username.
I DO NOT have a password for my username.
I have copied and pasted the file path \\OWNER-PC\Scanning
The file is definately set-up for sharing and all permissions are enabled.
I am not putting in a PIN at this time.
Can anyone help me to setup this network folder?
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi @Username57 ,
I understand that you are having issues setting up the network folder. I will certainly do my best to help you.
I have provided a document with the steps for setting up the scan to network folder.
Scan From the Control Panel (Including Scan to Email, to a PDF, and to a Network Folder) for HP Lase...
It is usually a issue with the Network Path for the network folder created.
Create a folder anywhere on the computer.
Right click the folder and left click properties, select the Sharing tab, click the Share button, select who you want to share the folder with or everyone. On the same Sharing tab copy the Network Path. (example \\envy1730\users \Envy\desktop\networkfolder
In the embedded web server for the printer go to the Scan tab, select network folder setup, paste in the path for the network folder. Go through the wizard.
If those steps don't work then follow steps 1, 2, 3, to resolve this issue to try and get the network folder and path.
Step one: Make sure that the computer user account is password protected.
1.Click the Windows icon, then click Control Panel.
2.Click User Accounts, then select the account you used to log into the computer.
3.Click Change your Windows password, then find the user account you used to log into the computer.
•If the user account is password protected, continue to the next step.
•If the user account is not password protected, click Create a password for your account to create a password, and then continue to the next step.
Step two: Define the network location
1.Click the Windows icon, then click Control Panel.
2.Click Network and Sharing Center.
3.In the View your active networks section, click Public network under your network name. The Set Network Location window opens.
4.Select Home Network or Work Network, then click Close.
Step three: Make sure that the network sharing and discovery options are correct
1.Open the Network and Sharing Center window.
2.Click Choose homegroup and sharing options.
3.In the Share libraries and printers section, select Documents.
4.In the Other homegroup actions section, click Change advanced sharing settings.
5.In the Advanced sharing settings window, make sure that the following network options are turned on:
•Network discovery
•File sharing
•Public folder sharing (read and write access)
•Password protected sharing
6.Click Save changes.
7.Your computer network is now successfully set to complete the Scan and Fax to Network. Folder or Digital Fax to Network Folder Wizard.
One user on another post had to do the following:
There was a problem in the "advanced sharing settings window". They turned it off, the option which is after the 128 encryption, I mean the "password protected sharing".
Please let me know the outcome.
Happy New Years!
Thank You.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
Click the “Kudos Thumbs Up" on the right to say “Thanks” for helping!

Network Folder Setup - "No Write Permission". Windows Vista.
Product: 8600 N911g
I am having issues in creating a network folder to scan to my computer. It responds ‘No write permission’
**NOTE**Before I allow you to continue reading, I need to first know to I need to create a password in my user account, or turn off UAC to create a scan network folder on my PC? If so, then that is what I need to do to correct this issue.
Steps I have performed in attempting to accomplish this task:
In Windows to create shared folder:
1) Created folder.
2) Open folder properties, under 'sharing' tab, selected 'Share' button, then selected 'Share' button.
3) A dialog window appears and states 'Sharing items', and when it is complete, it states "Your folder is shared. You may e-mail these links to notify people that you have shared these files, or copy the links onto the Windows clipboard, where you can paste them into any program you choose.”
4) When I select ‘Done’, it returns to the folder properties, and states in ‘Network File and Folder Sharing’ under ‘Sharing’ tab under ‘Network Path’: ‘Not Shared’.
**I don’t understand that it just said ‘Your folder is shared’, then under Network Path is stated ‘Not Shared’.**
5) Since in stated ‘Not Shared’, I selected ‘Advanced Sharing’, checked ‘Share this folder’ box, and under ‘Permissions’, checked ‘Full Control’ box.
6) Now it states Shared, and under ‘Network Path’ states the location: ‘ \\ADMIN-PC\ScantoDV9825 ’
In the HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g, Embedded Web Server to add network folder to scan to:
1) Opened ‘Scan’ section by clicking on the tab ‘Scan’. Under ‘Network Folder Setup’, the ‘Network Folder Configuration’ clicked on ‘New’.
2) Entered data for the following fieldsTEP 1 OF 4: Display Name: ‘Scan’, Network Path: ‘\\ADMIN-PC\ScantoDV9825’. Left User Name and Password fields blank. STEP 2 OF 4: Left PIN fields blank. STEP 3 OF 4: Did not make any changes, used default settings.
3) In STEP 4 OF 4 when I click on Save and Test, it returns with the message ‘No write permission’
How do I resolve this issue of ‘No write permission’?
Thank you.

This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi Robert,
First ensure the permissions are also set correctly by right clicking the shared folder, and then open the Security tab.
If your user name is not listed as Full Control click the edit button, add your user name and check the box for as Allow full control.
If that does not help, follow these steps in Windows Vista to make sure that your computer is configured to allow network sharing.
Step one: Make sure that the computer user account is password protected
Click the Windows icon ( ), and then click Control Panel .
Click User Accounts , and then select the account you used to log into the computer.
Click Change your Windows password , and then find the user account you used to log into the computer.
If the user account is password protected , continue to the next step.
If the user account is not password protected , click Create a password for your account to create a password, and then continue to the next step.
Step two: Define the network location
Click the Windows icon ( ), and then click Control Panel .
Click Network and Internet .
Click Network and Sharing Center .
Click Customize next to Your Network . The Set Network Location window opens.
Select Private , click Next , and then click Close .
Step three: Make sure that the network sharing and discovery options are correct
Open the Network and Sharing Center window.
In the Sharing and Discovery section, make sure that the following network options are set to On :
Network Discovery
File Sharing
Public Folder Sharing (password required)
Printer Sharing (password required)
Password Protected Sharing
Your computer network is now successfully set to complete the Scan and Fax to Network Folder or Digital Fax to Network Folder Wizard.

Adding new dual band AEBS-initial setup question--join network or setup new
Upon the initial setup of a new dual band AEBS, do I join my current network or setup a new network?
I bought this just so I can set up a separate 5GHz band to force my newer computers to a faster network. I know that the 5GHz band needs it's own new network name. I am just wondering how to do it at the very beginning after I plug it in. I want the 2.4GHz band to connect on the network I already have, and the 5GHz band to be a new name.
Thanks!Looks like Bob has already given you the correct steps. In addition to his comments, I would like to offer the following suggestions:
o Before trying to configure either base station to extend your new DB AEBSn, I would strongly suggest that you perform a "hard" reset on the AEBSn & a "factory default" reset on the AXn.
o Place the base stations within near proximity of each other during the set up phase, and then relocate them to their desired locations when complete. To make it even simpler and avoid having to "switch" wireless networks during the setup, attach each to the DB AEBSn via Ethernet.
o Remember each base station will only be able to extend one of the DB AEBSn's radios so try to select the appropriate base station for the job.
o I would recommend the following radio mode combination for your DB AEBS: 802.11n only (5 GHz) - 802.11b/g/n. This will prevent any 'stray' 802.11a wireless clients from connecting to the 5 GHz network and affecting its overall bandwidth performance. -
HP Officejet Pro 8600 Network Folder Setup to Yosemite share
I have an HP OfficeJet 8600 Pro (N911g) that is hooked up to the network wirelessly. I have used the scan to network folder extensively during the time I've owned it, connecting to either an Apple Time Capsule or an OS X workstation with an SMB share.
I recently upgraded the workstation in question to Yosemite (OS X 10.10), and now the scan to a network folder fails with the error "Incorrect credentials". I have recreated the setup on the printer to verify that the credentials and path supplied are correct, and have tested the account name I'm using from a windows machine to confirm that the credentials are valid. I have also tried turning off the AFP share on that workstation to ensure it was not interferring with the SMB share, and there was no change in the behavior.
Any thoughts on further troubleshooting steps?Just to let you know I posted the same issue in another thread a few days ago. We don't have a solution yet, but there are a whole bunch of us with the same problem you've posted about:

I have a cisco 891 router, and 3 unmanaged switches that i would like to use to segment my small office network into 3 VLANs groups to help reduce out current bottleneck we are having in our network. From everything i read i should be able to setup 3 VLANs on the router, and pick 3 out of the 8 ports on the router to be switchports for each of the 3 VLANs, and each of the 3 switches would connect to those.
My question is, when i setup the VLAN i cannot access the internet, though the inital VLAN 1 which currenlty has all our office computers sharing 1 switch and 1 VLAN works fine, any ideas? Is segmenting our network via 3 switches and 3 VLANs going to help with overall bandwidth?
My last question is, what are the proper steps to setup each VLAN on the router so i can access the internet with them and achieve the increased bandwidth through segmenting each office group?
I am new to cisco routers, so any help you can give me would be great. Thanks for your help. I think ive helped myself on the bandwidth end by spliting up my office on to 3 switches, but still using 1 VLAN. Before we had 16 people using 1 100Mbps link to the router which was at times getting maxed. Now i have it split across 3. But for security reasons with accounting and such i still want to setup 3 vlans. Here is the version information on the router:

So if you can tell me what steps i need to setup the vlans that would be great. I need to start another thread about VPNS, cause i cant get our VPN working either but thats another story -
Best Network/Internet setup at home
Hi guys...just wondering what the best setup would be using Cisco equipment at home. I have adsl with sky and at present i connect wirelessly to the net. I would like to create a home lab for my ccnp so would like to know the best router/equipment to create a home network which will allow me to connect to the net and study for my CCNP. Any help greatly appreciated
SolHi there,
I'm not a CCNA yet, so I don't know what's needed for the CCNP exams or labs, so take this as advice from someone who uses Cisco kit at home only!
I have a Cisco 827 (ADSL router with 4-port hub) and Cisco 1721 (modular router with two WIC slots) at home.
The 827 gives me my ADSL WAN connection and has a built-in firewall. I use a home broadband connection, so my outside IP is obtained automatically, so it has to NAT as well.
The 1721 has a WIC-1T and a WIC-1ENET - the WIC-1ENET connects to the 827, and the 1721's built-in 10/100 connects to my switch. The WIC-1T can be used to connect to another such device, so I can use it to create a DMZ. The 1721 also NATs, and has a further ACL applied to provide my home devices with extra security. My DMZ is where I experiment :)
It's a working environment (it provides my family with broadband internet access) and gives me something to study with. And, they're fanless, so they're silent - a real bonus.
I don't know your budget, so I'm going to guess and say you're not looking to buy brand-new kit; used kit can get you through your exams every bit as well as newer kit can, depending on what you buy.
The 827 is probably not the best choice to go for (although they are quite cheap on eBay). If you can, an 837, 857, 877, or (if you have the cash) an 1800-series router with ADSL WIC would be a better choice. The 857W and 877W both have built-in 802.11g WiFi as well, which is a bonus.
The 1721 is a good router, but you may be better off with a 2651 (they cost more, even used) but with two built-in FastEthernet ports and several Voice-capable WIC slots and DSP resources, you can learn about VoIP on them as well.
I also wouldn't go for any router you can't apply a 12.4 IOS image to (due to age or memory requirements) as you'll want to have the most recent command-set available to study on.
If you don't get a router with a wireless connection, there are plenty of Aironet APs on eBay as well, but the 802.11g ones tend to sell quite high. You need to look out though because some that are sold are thin APs, which require a controller (and those aren't cheap, or condusive to a home environment).
As for switching, the 2950 is a good switch as it is compact - however, if noise is a concern and you don't need any more than 8 ports, a Catalyst WS-C2940-8TT-S will do very nicely (they also support voice VLANs, 802.1Q trunking, and have a gigabit uplink, and again are fanless, so they're good for the home).
Also, you can find small Cisco PIX firewalls on eBay. They're not so common, but they do come along from time to time.
Hope this is of some help!
Kind regards,
Graeme -
I will setup a network system so that I can make use of 20 computers on the network for AE renders... basic principal for rendering is to render into image sequences by skipping existing frames...
What kind of network setup should I be looking for so there wont be any bottleneck on the server where I will have all the resources to be rendered...???
Assuming all the computers have gigabit cards; having a 10gbe connection between the server and the switch and an Intel SSD on the server,, will it do the job???
Here are specs of my PCs:
18 x Dell Optiplex 380, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93 Ghz, 8 GB RAM
1 x Dell Vostro 460, Intel i7, 8 GB RAM
1 x Dell Precision T3500, Quad core Xeon, 18 GB RAM
1 x Dell PowerEdge T100, Quad core Xeon, 2 GB RAM
I plan on having the source files to be rendered on the PowerEdge....
PS: given the specs above, is it worth to invest on the network as i can benefit from the network computers or should i simply buy another workstation to help render??
Thanks in advance. The drive speed of the individual disks in a RAID is secondary. I/O throughput is determined by the number of disks, the host interface and the number of controller channels that can be combined to form the RAID. Invest money in a proper hardware RAID SATA 6G controller/ motherboard, then plug-in whatever disks you can afford - ideally all of the same size and make. The rest of your question is not easy to answer and will ultimately only end up in the same dancing around like questions regarding multiprocessing - for one kind of project one setup may work best, for otehrs another. This will depend a lot on wheter you only render simple stuff that even weaker machines can render reasonably fast or heavy comps that only your most powerful machines can handle whiel the lesser ones will be skipped or take so long that they barely contribute....

Cannot connect to local network: accidental setup
I just setup a home network, and I went in to give access to my tivo because I thought I needed to add it to the access control list of IP's. However, I never added my own local IP so now I cannot log into my own network because I'm not on the list. I have no idea how to reset my networking preferences back to default and set everything up from the beginning. Yes, I'm a douche. Any ideas?
Dual g5 1.8 Mac OS X (10.4.6)Couple of ideas -
Reset to Factory default and set up from the beginning,
or, if I understand correctly that you have a fixed IP address, you could change to Configure using DHCP, set the reservation, then go back to configure manually. -
Printer does not see new network in Setup Assistant - Photosmart C4385
I changed routers, so have a new network SSID. Have pinter connected to a Mac with USB cable. Want to set up wireless access to printer. In HP Setup Assistant the error message first says "No WiFi Network Discovered". I try the option to type in teh name of teh network but receive error message "Network Unavailable - The selected Wi-Fi network "(my network name)" is not within reach of the device. But the printer is only 25 feet from the touter and immediately next to the Mac which is connected to the Wi-Fi network.
In Wireless menu I selected "Wireless Radio ON". TEst configuration page shows Radio On, Radio Working, but Network Name (SSID) Not applicable.Welcome to the forums!
@spicymac
I would like for you to check out a previous post I had just recently done about a similar issue as yours, when connecting to the network.
Try out the steps I list in this post and let me know the outcome!

New server Network & DNS Setup
I just got a New Dual G5 Server and set it up using the pdfs from apple. Mainly the Getting Started Appendix B page 149 Small Business Setup using the Gateway Setup assistant. I ran into all sorts of problems like being unable to login to the open directory and i think it was my DNS setup that was the problem i then changed the setup multiple times using various How-tos in this thread to no avail.
So i have reinstalled the the Server software and will start again using the following steps.
This is my first post so i please let me know if i have provided enough info or to much?
SETUP:
ADSL 2 connected to DLINK 4 port Wireless Router (24Mbps) 1 port plugged into Ethernet 1 on Server. Router is setup as a DHCP using 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 for xserve. subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 (dynamic ip address from ISP)
Xserve Ethernet 2 will provide DHCP and NAT via a 16 port switch to Computers and Printers. Setup as 192.168.2.1, 255.255.255.0
I want to use the xserve as a file server, filemaker database server, web server for a test site for some of our content and also possibly an email server.
INSTALL
1. Install OSX 10.4 with ethernet settings above eth1 is DHCP eth2 is manual
assigned, no services will be set to start up and i choose Standalone
Server
2. Update with Software Update
3. Setup DHCP for the Clients - Start Service
4. Setup DNS use " company.private" for the host name and the DNS server ip
will be the 192.168.2.1 address
5. Upgrade to Open Directory Master and Kerberize
6. Setup Sharepoints for Data Storage and Home directory location
7. Start Apple File Services AFP
8. Create user Accounts / Groups
9. Setup Directory Access on clients to see LDAP server and DHCP.
Login from clients to get an automounted sharepoint and Home directory,
"sounds easy when i type it up like that".
Could anyone let me know if i am doing it the right way or if there is anything i have missed wrong order or something important.
Should i change the routers subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 ?
Obviously wireless clients will have access direct to internet due to the router and the routers DHCP. Can wireless users access their Home directory in this manner via the ethernet 1 port?
Should i just let the router handle the DHCP for everyone and plug it into the switch with only 1 ethernet being used on the server?
I will eventually have to have another subnet for student computers in the future.
I would greatly appreciate any advicePretty long post, and I doubt anybody here will want to go through the entire setup process. However, I'd re-think your baisc hardware configuration.
I don't know why everybody gets so excited about using that second ethernet port on the Xserve. It's necessary in some setups, but if you already have a router providing DHCP on a small network it seems like overkill.
I'd setup the chain in this order:
Internet - ADSL Modem - Router - Switch - Xserve / Computers / Printers
Setup your server with a manual IP address (192.168.0.2 is fine). Point it to itself as the DNS server.
Leave the router at 192.168.0.1, and configure the router to assign DHCP above the Xserve's address (say, from 192.168.0.10 and up). Also let the router handle NAT.
Network homes work over wireless, but it's not an entirely satisfactory experience. You might consider using portable homes instead; sync times will still be slow, but overall you'll cut down on network traffic and it should at least appear faster to your users.
