Size control error in LightRoom

I discovered a malfunction in the Mac version of Lightroom 3. When I set any number as maximum file size all the EXIF data is wiped from the exported JPG.
During my work I need to send photos resized to a given resolution and within a specified filesize. All exporting is fine but whenever I activate the maximum filesize option all EXIF data is wiped. Even if I set 30MB for a less then 20MB RAW, the output JPG is created without any EXIF in it.
Does anyone see this error either on Windows or preferably on Mac? Is there any solution to this or will be there any repair by Adobe?

I can hardly accept a bug being called a feature without any reasoning. Please explain what purpose such an unwanted data removal would serve in favor of any photographer. By the way if this is in deed a feature the Mac version has than the Windows version of Lightroom has the malfunction not having this - still ununderstandable feature. (Shall I send a feature request to remove it from the Mac version or should I rather advice it if it has any purpose then please make it optional?)
The EXIF is the smallest part of the image file so removing it cannot be a practical approach to make the image file reasonably smaller. Especially not when LR has a totally separate option to minimize (maybe remove?) metadata. It definietly has a sense to have this OPTION to clear EXIF but only as an option and not a hidden and constrained feature.
I expect a setting to do what it is meant (rather called?) to do and nothing else that is not related to the given option. Especially not removing some information from image files without any warning or notice of the user.
Thank you for our advice to experiment with quality settings but I choose LR because I mistakenly belived it is a professional photographer tool that does what its settings imply to do.

Hello I keep getting the error: 'The Lightroom catalog named Lightroom 5 catalog cannot be opened because another application already has it opened' when opening Lightroom. There is no other application using it. there is only one file available, no back up as I have been uploading a 5.3TB catalogue over the past 4 days and didn't shut down. the RAW files sit on a separate hard drive to the laptop where the Lightroom catalogue is. I cannot now access that catalogue. I had a crash prior to this happening ... can anyone help out there?

You probably need to delete your preview cache. See here

How to control errors in BPM

HI all,
We are developing a quite complicated BPM. We need to controle errors in File Adapter, just in case the comunication channel cannot write/read (for example with a wrong FTP account). In case of error we need to send an email. So we are trying to develop a module in the file adapter. We are not sure about behaviour of the BPM if one of the steps have an error. I mean the execution of the module will continue the BPM in case of error in the file adapter?

How to increase font size of error message in css or in template?

Firt time i am working for css modification.I am not able to increase the font size of Error message in Inline in Notification validation at Item level. I am not able to find where i should make change for that in tempalate or in CSS. I know it's very simple question but i am not able to do this simple change.
I created some validation at Item level and page level and in Inline in Notofication want to display the error message.
In error message i am writing code like "
<a href="#P15_item_name" title="Link to item FIELD">Please Enter value for item name </a>."
but font is very small. can any one help me where i should make changes to make it some biger font.

This is strange. Another css is used, core_V22.css
Here is the path: htmldb/images/css/
Search for "span.errTxt". It already has a set font-size, so just increase it.
I don't know the exact use of core_V22.css. It seams to be used by other applications, so it may influence them as well. It would be better if you could define another class, but I don't realize yet from where to address it

Elicense control error

Hello all. Everytime i try to start logic without my nexus license dongle i get the eLicense control error and logic refuses to start. The problem is that I do a lot of work in logic on the plane and in hotel rooms and don't always have my license key handy. I should still be able to work on that session and just not access those particular plug ins unless i have the key installed. I don't see why i cannot even get the session to open. Does anyone know a workaround for this. I am buying the uad satellite bundle and im sure im going to have the same problem with this. But my main goal is to be able to open any track and work on a particular part weather or not my license is plugged in. This is how it is in ableton. The session will open but i just cant access nexus or UAD. PLEASE HELP

If that doesn't work the OP could just move the Nexus AU out of the Components folder before starting an "on the road" session.
That would be in Root/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components
Logic never did have graceful exit strategies... if it finds something amiss it often tends to freeze or crash.

Controlling position of + and – when adding text size controls

Dear gurus,
I am trying to sort my text size controls (+ and –) and
have managed to get them to resize but I can't get them to sit
together. At the moment, visually it says
Resize text then there is a big gap and there's the minus
(–) then the plus (+) is pushed over onto the next line. I've
tried my best but I simply don't have the knowledge to fix the
problem.
I have attached the code, see below (it may be full of
mistakes so, don't laugh).

@dkg62 – to make clear what's going on, select the text frame and show us another screenshot.
There are at least four cases where you can get a text like that. All cases imply, that the font you'd like to use is missing. I simulated this by formatting text with a font weight that is not available by a character style.
1. The most likely case: There is baseline shift applied; here in my case 9pt.
All other cases are academical, because the pink highlighting is aligned with the text:
2. Text frame options, baseline set to a fixed value (zero in this case)
3. Text on path and the text frame options (baseline) is just the standard default. You can see a second #-end of story sign inside the text frame.

Our Application needs to have the use of the [Named Pipes] and [TCP/IP] Protocols. To save our Users the hassle of having to enable them manually our application has always done it for them and then stopped and restarted SQL Server. However
since the advent of Vista and Windows 7, the restart stopped working. We solved the problem by detecting the failure to re-start and giving Users sufficient instructions for them to do it themselves. Since this only occurs during installation on
the Server, this approach has not been too much of a hassle. However we would like to tidy this up if possible. This the VBA code that is causing the problem:

Under Windows 7 you have to run the VBA script with admin permission, a normal user don't have permissions to start/stop services.

"Server Busy" Error in Lightroom 4.1. 4.4 won't download/open properly

When I try to import new photos I get a "server busy" error in Lightroom 4.1. I have to click cancel/reset/cancel/reset for about a minute to get just one photo to import. Completely unacceptable if trying to import multiple photos. I downloaded 4.4 most recently in hopes of fixing this buy, but although it downloads, once downloading Lightroom, hoping when I re-installed it would automatically accept updates, but that didn't work. I still get server busy error. My Lightroom is completely useless right now. I'm working off a Windows system.

OMG... I'm such a nit-wit!! I switched the setting in my camera to try something and forgot to swith it back!
I've been digging through this for more that an hour and never bothered to check the file setting.
