Is this causing my ETL to slow down?
My ETL process took about 10 minutes, now it is taking about 40 minutes?
Could this be the cause?
If so, how do I correct this problem?
Thank you,

How do I do that?
Is it doing a calc on the dimensions that I affected?
The only way that I know of doing a restructure is to add an account in the outline. I am not adding any accounts, so I am not sure how to restructure.
Can you point me to the right direction to this?
Thank you,

  • Can't rename files/folders after changing extension of a file

This has gone on for a while and is quite the pain.
So I need to change the extension of a file. I change it, it asks me do I really want to do this, and I do. Sometimes immediately, and sometimes in a while, I lose the ability to rename a file/folder - I highlight it but can't type anything. Only a restart cures it, until the next round. Really annoying.
I've seen this syndrome posted here and there, but no real solutions. Any ideas welcome, I'm using 10.4.11 btw.
    Thanks

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop...

  • BIA Master Data Index Not Updated After Change Run

In BIA it shows master data 0VERSION table /BI0/SVERSION has 360 records which matches with the number of entries in SE16 /BI0/SVERSION.  One record was added to 0VERSION so now SE16 /BI0/SVERSION shows 361 records.  I did a change run for this infoobject 0VERSION but the BIA index for /BI0/SVERSION still only show 360 records. I expect it to show 361 records after the change run.  Is this a bug?  Thanks.

    Hi Thao,
I see one of 3 possible scenarios:
    1) You load 0VERSION as a part of master data load (from flat file or another system). You see your 11th record in version "M" after load and then you run change run that makes "A" version of the record. ---> BIA index should be automatically updated. If not - open OSS message to SAP.
    2) You load transactional data in an InfoCube, and it has new value for characteristic 0VERSION. ---> In this case you need to run roll-up of this new load request in the InfoCube to let BIA index be in-sync.
    3) You are modifying 0VERSION manually (e.g. SQL INSERT statement), so system is not aware of new record at all. ---> You need to run the mentioned single-table-index program to update BIA index.
Is it any of these 3 scenarios, or you have the 4th one?

  • Issues with file sharing after changing password

Last night I changed my system password on my MacBook Pro and for some reason it caused some issues with my file sharing with my windows PC.
I was able to finally get the notebook to connect again to the XP PC shared documents by going through finder to go to network and then connected. But the PC would not see the notebook. Everything was communicating fine when I first got the system two weeks ago.
Tech support did what they could tonight and I finally just decided to set up a connection to my notebook by entering the notebooks ip address on the pc.
It's alte and sorry for the rambling, but does anyone know why the pc (as well as others in the house) no longer see the notebook?
    Jim

No, There isn't a bug with file sharing between Mac and Pc client.

  • Premiere Pro CS6 won't play imported files even after changing format, etc?

    Camera: Canon Legria HFM41
    Video file format: MTS (1920 x 1080)
For the past few days I've been trying to understand why my video files won't play in Premiere, I'll import them, and when I press play the audio will work, but the video will play smoothly for only a few seconds then stop, skipping frames/slowing the speed of the video - I've read a lot of these forums on similar issues, then I tried converting the format to avi/mp4 and they still won't play smoothly when importing to Premiere Pro.. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong/how to solve this.. Thank you!

  • After Changing Itunes Store Missing Applications .. Please help !

    Dears,
I have a wearied situation here (Which Apple apple genius and support people were not able to help at) summarized as below !
I bought an Iphone 5s 32G from Saudi.
My apple ID was assigned to the Saudi store.
I downloaded some (free) applications and I've purchased some other.
I have moved to the US, so I changed the store from the Saudi one to the US one.
    I Factory rest my Iphone.
I logged-in with my Apple ID (newly assigned to the US store).
went to the Update/purchased section to find out that all my applications (Free and Paid) disappeared.
Apple support people informed me that this is related to the different in countries, so i am OK losing my paid application.
I downloaded my free applications again ( WhatsApp, Shamzam .... ect.) HOWEVER, when i go to the Updated/ Purchased section the surprised is (can not find the installed applications).
This happens only to the application i have downloaded before when my ID was assigned to the Saudi store, however the (first time) downloaded application it does appear in the Updated/ Purchased section.
Would you please advice if you have an idea how o solve this issue, and PLEASE do not tell me to back it up with iTunes ( we are in the iCloud Ear and i think Apple is was smarter than this manual way) and do not tell me to have two accounts.
    Thank You my good friends.

As well as being tied to the account that downloaded it, content is tied to the country that it was downloaded in - you will need to be back in Saudi Arabia with a Saudi billing address on your account for you to potentially be able to redownload any apps that you downloaded whilst in Saudi Arabia.
And yes, you should be copying all of your downloads to your computer's iTunes library, you are only guaranteed one download of any item from the store - any of the apps (or music, films etc) that you have downloaded since being in the USA could be removed by the rights-holder at any time (and audiobooks and ringtones are one-time only downloads), in which case you wouldn't be able to redownload them.

  • Sort Index Size failed in file

    Hi Experts,
Do you have any idea why we get this error in MDS log file? I am sure you must have come across it, what could be a fix for it?
We have observed Log info "Sort Index Size failed in file" logged into MDS Log file while doing following:
    It happens during following processes:
a)_Master Slave Sync between Master and Slave Repo->> MDSAdminServer@GetAndApplyMasterChangeRep_

As the Log Info name indicates "Sort Index Size failed in file", we are wondering is there anything to do with the -Size of Index File. Is there any parameter in DB side or in MDS which controls logging file size. May be that file size is not allowing Index sorting to be written into that file and file gets overflown due to less file size and MDS Logs this "Log Info". And since Indexing is not completed and not written into Index file, eventually the search made thru Advance Search gets weird and start throwing null pinter exception in browser because Index is not present for some searches.
This error seems like some unhandled exception code in program- Update.cpp at line 1097.
I would appreciate if you can throw some light on this and how to avoid this?
    Regards
    Pravin

    Hi Jignesh and Ravi,
There is no Repo schema change and we made sure that we create new slave after any Repo schema change. I dont think there is an issue with master-slave, but issue probably lies some where else.
In fact my original question is scrambled. Let me mention it again clearly.  Its not alone master-slave sync we get this log info-" Sort Index Size failed in file". Actually we get it during following 3 operations:
    a) On Master Slave Sync between Master and Slave Repo->> MDSAdminServer@GetAndApplyMasterChangeRep
    b) OnRemove Records from Data Manager in master->> CatMgr@RemoveRecords336
    c) On Updating Records in Data Manager->> CatMgr@ModifyRecords326
Is there anything to do with the -Size of Index File. Is there any parameter in DB side or in MDS which controls logging file size.  This error seems like some unhandled exception code in program- Update.cpp at line 1097.

  • Oracle 9i(9.2.0.5.0) - Oracle Text - Indexing files on FTP Server

I am using Oracle 9i(9.2.0.5.0) and I am unable to upgrade to a newer version of Oracle DB.
I am new to this technology and I have not tried it yet myself.
I was reading some articles, documents or references about Oracle text technology and I have find out that Oracle text should be able to create a context index over the files which resides on the FTP server.
I have also found out, that for this purpose an "URL_DATASTORE" should be used.
I would be pleased if someone can answer my question before I decide to start using this technology:
    - Is there any limitation which I should be aware of when creating context index over files which resides on FTP server? (file size limit, supported file types limitation)
    - During index creation process are the indexed files downloaded and copied to the Oracle database permanently or only temporary until index is created?
    - Is any incremental indexing possible(when I add new files to the datastore I do not have to rebuild the whole index)?
    - Is there any formula between context index disk size and indexed files disk size?
    Regards,
    Michal

    - Is there any limitation which I should be aware of when creating context index over files which resides on FTP server? (file size limit, supported file types limitation)
Max file size is configurable up to 2GB. No limitation on the file type from the datastore itself, but if you want to process binary files the normal list of suported filter file formats will apply (see the appendix in the admin guide)
    - During index creation process are the indexed files downloaded and copied to the Oracle database permanently or only temporary until index is created?
    Only temporarily
    - Is any incremental indexing possible(when I add new files to the datastore I do not have to rebuild the whole index)?
From the question, I suspect you're seeing this as a crawler - you expect to provide the address of an FTP site and have it fetch all the documents. That's not how it works. Rather, you must put all the URLs into a table, and Text will index those URLs (and only those URLs)
If new files are added, you must arrange somehow to have the new rows added to your table. Then Text will do an incremental update, it won't have to rebuild the whole index.
    - Is there any formula between context index disk size and indexed files disk size?
It varies quite a lot depending on types of data and indexing options chosen, but a typical result is that the index will be 40% of the total file size. However, if the documents are formatted (eg Word, PDF) the percentage will be much smaller.

  • My vi is writing just the same data into spreadsheet even after changing the loop iteration time. hw can I change this mode ?

My VI is writing the same amount of data into spreadsheet file even after changing the for-loop iteration time

You should post the VI (with appropriate values saved as default) to this thread.  (At least a JPEG or PNG screenshot).
Inside the For Loop, right-click on the N terminal and create Indicator.  Run the VI and you will see how many times the Loop spins.
Further guessing:  You may have a 2D array with two rows and many columns feeding the For Loop.

  • Index file increase with no corresponding increase in block numbers or Pag file size

    Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and/or can help explain why it is happening....
I have a BSO cube fronted by a Hyperion Planning app, in version 11.1.2.1.000
The cube is in it's infancy, but already contains 24M blocks, with a PAG file size of 12GB.  We expect this to grow fairly rapidly over the next 12 months or so.
After performing a simple Agg of aggregating sparse dimensions, the Index file sits at 1.6GB.
When I then perform a dense restructure, the index file reduces to 0.6GB.  The PAG file remains around 12GB (a minor reduction of 0.4GB occurs).  The number of blocks remains exactly the same.
If I then run the Agg script again, the number of blocks again remains exactly the same, the PAG file increases by about 0.4GB, but the index file size leaps back to 1.6GB.
If I then immediately re-run the Agg script, the # blocks still remains the same, the PAG file increases marginally (less than 0.1GB) and the Index remains exactly the same at 1.6GB.
Subsequent passes of the Agg script have the same effect - a slight increase in the PAG file only.
Performing another dense restructure reverts the Index file to 0.6GB (exactly the same number of bytes as before).
I have tried running the Aggs using parallel calcs, and also as in series (ie single thread) and get exactly the same results.
I figured there must be some kind of fragmentation happening on the Index, but can't think of a way to prove it.  At all stages of the above test, the Average Clustering Ratio remains at 1.00, but I believe this just relates to the data, rather than the Index.
After a bit of research, it seems older versions of Essbase used to suffer from this Index 'leakage', but that it was fixed way before 11.1.2.1.
    I also found the following thread which indicates that the Index tags may be duplicated during a calc to allow a read of the data during the calc;
    http://www.network54.com/Forum/58296/thread/1038502076/1038565646/index+file+size+grows+with+same+data+-
However, even if all the Index tags are duplicated, I would expect the maximum growth of the Index file to be 100%, right?  But I am getting more than 160% growth (1.6GB / 0.6GB).
And what I haven't mentioned is that I am only aggregating a subset of the database, as my Agg script fixes on only certain members of my non-aggregating sparse dimensions (ie only 1 Scenario & Version)
The Index file growth in itself is not a problem.  But the knock-on effect is that calc times increase - if I run back-to-back Aggs as above, the 2nd Agg calc takes 20% longer than the 1st.  And with the expected growth of the model, this will likely get much worse.
Anyone have any explanation as to what is occurring, and how to prevent it...?
Happy to add any other details that might help with troubleshooting, but thought I'd see if I get any bites first.
The only other thing I think worth pointing out at this stage is that we have made the cube Direct I/O for performance reasons. I don't have much prior exposure to Direct I/O so don't know whether this could be contributing to the problem.
    Thanks for reading.

I haven't tried Direct I/O for quite a while, but I never got it to work properly. Not exactly the same issue that you have, but it would spawn tons of .pag files in the past. You might try duplicating your cube, changing it to buffered I/O, and run the same processes and see if it does the same thing.

  • Mail search doesn't work well after changing mail file to another drive

Hi, I need some help making the search in mail work for Mountain Lion. After I changed the mail folder to a new drive, SSD, creating an alias, everything works fine for mail except the search. When I search most of the times I get back emails that I received before doing the change.
I already tried at rebuilding the mailboxes, and also I erased the Envelop index files, and they rebuilt themselves, and still the search is not working properly for the emails I have received since I changed the mail files to the new drive.
Other than that the mail program is working well and as I work a lot with search I am experiencing a loss of productivity.
I wouldn't like to revert it to the old drive, as the new drive is SSD and goes much faster for the big size of my mail fines.
Thank you for your help !

Here I am tring to Rename Jar file Names once after JWS Downloads at Client Place. But I don't know how to do this. I Searched in so many Blogs and Forums, but i failed to get Solution for this. As when JWS downloads Jars from server, its changes file names (prefixes with "RM" and "RT"). So same way i want to change once after it downloads files. Can any body tels how to dot this. Really ... Help is appriciated
Thnx a lot for reading the above

    Note from other posts:
The content and format of the cache will and do change from version to version of javaws. It is highly unadvisable to build into you application relying on the location or format.
That being said, for 1.4.2 or 1.5.0, the location was as given: "C:\Documents and Settings\<UserID>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javaws", and in long path below that depending on the URL of the resource.
For version 6, the cache is in : "C:\Documents and Settings\<UserID>\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0" and then in a directory below that named "0" thry "63", depending on the hash of the URL of the resource. The name will be completely obscure, there will be one binary index file with "idx" extension, and then the actual resource will be the file of the same name w/o any extension.

  • After deleting "Envelope Index" files Mail cannot re-index

I followed the common suggestion of deleting "Envelope Index" files to speed up mail, but after restarting Mail, it freezes when re-indexing my archive: it blocks after indexing just 6,000 messages out of my 600,000 messages (I have a pretty big email archive). I've tryed anything (reinstalling Mail, importing in Thunderbird or Postbox), but no way to get back to my email archieve
Moreover: I couldn't find Envelope Index* files in my Time Machine backup (tried "find" via shell, but no way)!
Special prizes to anyone who can help me!
    Thanks.

I followed the common suggestion of deleting "Envelope Index" files to speed up mail
That's not a way to speed up Mail.
Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • How to change the size of redo file

    Deal all,
I finish installed the db,and the size of redo file is 50m by default. I found many "checkpoint not complete" events in alert.log file.
Now i want to change it to 100M and try to avoid the event appear again ,how can i do?

As Sb has already correct reply that size of redo logs can not be changed. We have to create new bigger/smaller size of redo logs and then 'alter system switch logfile' to inactivate older logs. Now you can drop older logs. Redo logs are something a glass of water. We can not change the size of glass, if we wish to dring more/less water, we will take that sized glass and we will get that sized water.
Remember to consider the multiplexing/grouping when doing any maintenance like this. And there may be archive log & backup space considerations.
