Size of LPX full download?

I'm a very satisfied user of LPX on my 2011 i7 iMac. I'm thinking of saving up for a 128GB MacBook Air for use on the road, but it would need to be able to comfortably host LPX without rendering the operating system crippled due to there not being enough free space on the drive. Because LPX spreads itself across numerous folders and locations I'm not sure how to get a true handle on exactly how much real-estate it genuinely consumes when you download 100% of the content.

Hi
LPX requires approx 35G of storage once downloaded, though you can choose not to download all of it if you want.

  • Optimum size for a full browser width image?

    Hi all,
I'm pretty new to Muse and these forums (hello everyone!) and have been tinkering around with some features.
I'm currently creating a website for my band that integrate a full width browser image at the top of each page. I was wondering what the optimal settings are for the image size to make this work? It all currently works fine, but on larger screens the image is so zoomed in it's impossible to make out what it's of! The site is designed for smaller screens so this works fine, I was mainly wondering if there's a recommended size to optimised the images too for the width.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Kind regards, Ekke

This must be a hard question to answer...for anyone...because I have tried many times before to get this question answered. I have looked at other examples of Muse sites and I have decided to go with a 2000 width for my images when I want to go full screen. I have no idea if this is correct but I get good results pertaining to how it looks. Now, I don't know if it is the optimum size in terms of download speed. No one will touch this question thus far. My research came from looking at what others did that built Muse sites as a profession.
The Muse team should address this topic of optimal images for all platforms and how images can be used throughout the build not only for the above stated but for efficiency of site building.

  • Hi I would like to download Adobe Pro Xi the full version. Please provide a link to the full download and free trial. Thank you.

I cannot find the Adobe XI Download online. I would like the full application. Thank you.

I just want the full version of whatever Adobe application will allow me to perform the functions mentioned above.
I tried clicking on the Adobe - Acrobat : For Windows link and it gave a lot of options so I clicked on here:
    FULL DOWNLOAD
    Name
    Size
    Date
    PDF iFilter 64 11.0.01
    19.6 MB
    1/8/2013
I downloaded that...and it said it had successfully installed but no application appeared, I didn't have to pay anything...I don't know how to get the application.
    I tried downloading:
    Version 11.0.10
Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10 Pro and Standard update - All languages
    227MB
    12/9/2014
This and it said there was an error and my computer did not support it...I have a Window 8 laptop.
For Adobe DC - if I download this again I would like to know all the programs or whatever that I need for all of its functions to work.  All i want to do is save a file, that seems ridiculous that they would not include it in the application when it is so integral to its function.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Where do I get full download of Creative Record

I have recently upgraded from Win98 to XP, and installed the latest uni-driver pack for SB Li've. Unfortunately, the original cd that came with my card only had drivers/apps for Win95 which are incompatible with the XP drivers. On the Creative Support Download Site, they only provide an upgrade download to the Creative Recorder. Does anyone know where I might find the full download?
I have also fallen prey to the infamous WInXP SBLi've snap crackle and pop driver bug, and I do not have a VIA chipset. Why the hell hasn't Creative released new drivers to fix this problem? I for one will never again buy a Creative product, since they obviously don't care about maintaining their 'older' products, only selling new ones. Creative sucks.... Period....

  • Software Update File Size Different than Apple Downloads File Size

    Background:
I am running software update and it retrieves the update for "MacBook, MacBook Pro Software update 1.1" File size is listed as 768K. When I go to the Apple Downloads page for this update, the file size is 979K.
Download ID is 16618 and URl is http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macbookmacbookprosoft wareupdate11.html
    Question:
Is this discrepancy normal based on the way that Software Update calculates file size or should I be concerned? There is no hash to confirm integrity of the file.

File size, and the volume of space it takes up are 2 different things. Space will very from computer to computer. Chances are, the larger the drive the more space it takes up. Reason? The file system (HSF + on macs with Leopard). The file sytem divides the drive into specific number of sections. That number may be 10 M, say. So, even if you have a thumbnail that is 4 kb, it will still require the minimum size of the file system. Make sense? There is a lot of wasted space on very large drives.
Note: Leopard is set up to use a new file system that apple may soon adopt. It will not use the division method HFS + uses, and so will save a lot of space, if adopted.

  • ICloud and desktop libraries different sizes / difficulties with full size downloads on iPad

My Photos library shows up as 14,056 photos at 53 GB in iCloud whereas it shows up as 13,952 at 125GB on my iMac (1TB HDD).  I have checked "Use iCloud Photo library" on all my computers and devices's preferences and most of this data has been synched for several weeks.  So why the huge discrepancy in size?
Also, since my iPad mini 3 has 128GB strorage I chose to allow it to download full size versions of my images to store locally ...which it never actually seems to do.  I always get the little white "loading" icon in the bottom right corner of any image I look at letting me know its downloading the full size from the cloud before I can see the full resolution.  Obviously I could not actually store 125 GB library on a 128 GB capacity iPad but since iCloud claims my library is only 53GB and I have 90 something gigs free on the iPad it should work.
I guess I'm confused a to how big my library actually is and where the full sized images are actually being kept.  And ideas for how to solve this dilemma?

Think you wanted your reply to be to pjonesCET1
But, I will give an opinion on your post --
You want to use Microsoft Office because of the robust nature of its elements.    Apples Iwork and prior to that Apple works - is at the level of Microsoft works - an stripped down piece of software that meets the need of many people.    Apple and Microsoft agreed to have a version of Microsoft office that could run on Apple devices.
The of problems between versions of Maverick and Yosemite may have to to with apple releasing Yosemite before it was fully tested with Microsoft office - or the bug has been there awhile and Yosemite just brought it to the surface.
In general - when new level of software comes out - its not a complete re-write.   Commented out code that was replaced with new code is removed, along with indicators for new code and history of what the problem is are removed - giving clean code.   If the language has new structure, the code may be passed through a converted that, depending on detail reformats code into new statement structure.
Sometimes bugs are added because a certified programmer just can't read existing code even their own - or just ignore standards and use a new instruction that is incompatible with existing code.
Microsoft does issue patches for existing software - so they may do that for your problem - but some problems can take a while to figure out just where they went wrong.

  • Opening flash .swf and constraining it to it's original size rather than full-screen

When I open a flash object (.swf) from my desktop to test it, it opens full screen. I would like to constrain it so that it opens to the size it was created, e.g., 800 x 600.

If you open an SWF link directly in a browser tab then you always get the dimensions of that tab. You either have to open the link in a new window and resize it or use the above mentioned bookmarklet code with a keyword and the url as the parameter to replace the %S. Bookmarklet code like that is very handy as you can also use it if Firefox insists in downloading a file (image) and you want to open it in a tab. Of course you need to supply the correct MIME type in that case.

  • HT204406 I authorized a second computer on my iTunes account, and downloaded my library from the Cloud to my new computer. However, many songs only partially downloaded, and now I'm having a hard time getting rid of them to do full downloads.

I authorized a second computer on my iTunes account and tried to get my first computer's library on my second computer via the Cloud. Many of the songs only partially downloaded, and I am having a hard time getting rid of the library with the partial downloads (so I can get full songs). I am considering nuking the current iTunes on the second computer and re-installing, giving myself a clean slate to work with. Is this the right way to go?

  • How can I get a full download of Firefox 3.6.20? Mine crashed & much of it is missing.

My computer is 7 years old, I cannot afford a new one. When I load a movie I do no get a picture, only little boxes and words.
Firefox don't come up with pictures only words. A message on the screen says my computer is not compatible with the new Firefox.
I am running OSX 10.5.8 Most other software websites have a download button to download a full version of their software, Firefox does not.

Mozilla are aware of the issue in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release.

  • Time Machine always reporting wrong size after several full resets

    Good afternoon,
I have been using Time Machine on a Macbook Pro 2012 backing up to a QNAP NAS TS-419 P II
After a year of using Time Machine without any issues I've now ran into a situation i do not seem able to resolve.
For several reasons I wanted to do a full Time Machine reset and do a new full back.
For that, after trying various solutions with no succes, I've deleted the sparse bundle, switched off Time Machine support, restarted the NAS, switched on Time Machine  support again. Furthermore i did  full reset on the Macbook following as per http://pondini.org/TM/A4.html
However every time I start a new backup Time Machine seems to limit the sparse bundle to 1.07 TB, while I have not set any file size restrictions. Next to that it's also reporting only 657 GB of the 1.07 TB is actually free. As if the old sparse bundle with the backups were still there.
Anyone who has been facing the same issue?
    Thanks,
    Gijs

Actually, I can shorten this down to just:
Mount TimeMachineBackup disk, it reports ~95GB free.
Repair it, it reports 800+GB free
    Unmount it
Remount it, it again reports ~95GB free.
    Rinse. Repeat.

  • Is there a full download option?

I need to download Reader 9 to burn to CD, because the site I need it at only has a 512k frame which would be hammered by a download (I can download it from home with my 6mbit connection). Is there a way to download Reader without using the download manager, so I can burn the full product to CD?
    Thanks for the help,
    Brad

You can grab whichever version you need from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.1/enu/ . The smaller version is the Reader only without Air...etc.

  • What is the best way to increase the size of a "full" Xserve raid?

    Hi,
    our Xserve raid consists of 2 x 7 x 350GB disks.
These are arranged in 2 volumes (one per controller), RAID 0+1, 3 disks striped, then mirrored, and such are using 6 of the 7 disks per controller. 1 disk per controller is configured as a hot spare.
During time both volumes have filled up and now there only are 100GB left on every volume and we need more space
Is there a way to hot replace 350GB disks by 750GB disks?
Or is the only way to copy data off, replace disks, and restore data?
I would guess, that I can replace one disk with a 750GB disk, but only 250GB of it will be used. If I then would wait for reconstruction of that new part, and then replace its counterpart? Would only the first 350GB be reconstructed and the 400GB be lost, or would the raid recognize the free space and allow to add it to the stripes and mirrors?
    Cheers,
    Martin

A disks in the array need to be the same size, so your guess is correct - if you replace a disk with a larger disk, the additional space will be lost.
As a result there's no trivial way of doing this.
Copying off the data, reformatting and restoring the data is the best way to go.
If that's not possible, you have one small chance thanks to how you've currently configured the arrays as 0+1.
You could break the mirror on controller 1- that would give you two logical arrays of three disks each. You could then take the data off the 0+1 array on the second controller and put it on the second half of the first controller, leaving the second controller's volumes spare.
Then destroy both volumes on the second controller and rebuild it as a RAID 5 volume. If you want to retain a hot-spare, this will equate to a 6-disk RAID 5, or about 1.8TB
Now you move the data from the two RAID 0 arrays on controller 1 onto the RAID 5 array on controller 2 and repeat the process to rebuild the 6 disks into a single RAID 5 volume. You can then redistribute the files as you like.
Of course, during this process you'll be running with lower (read: no) redundancy, so you had better hope a disk doesn't fail in the process.
A 6 disk RAID 5 is going to offer about the same performance and redundancy as the two mirrored 3-disk RAID 0 arrays (more performance if those RAID 0 arrays are full), with the advantage that RAID 5 isn't so wasteful of disk space (you lose have your total space to the mirror as opposed to one disks-worth of data to parity in RAID 5).
Either way, back the data up first.
