No, the low power N30 or N35 gauss neodymium magnets in the magnetic flap cases will not affect it.
There is no HD, and the SSD are hard (relatively) to corrupt by magnetic field unless high gauss and at close proximity.

  • Your favourite MacBook Air Case...

What is your favourite MacBook Air case?

After a long and detailed research about "Which case to buy for my MacBook Air?" , I have ordered from BeyzaCases and received a great product with amazing quality. I am so glad to see that an eastern country produces such high quality products and impressed with the service.
My MacBook Air Case Thinvelope arrived yesterday and it exceeded my expectations. Such a high quality leather and very unique design. I am very pleased with Thinvelope.
I recommend to anyone who wants to buy a case for MacBook Air . check out the photos

  • How do i remove a macbook air case that i put on backwards?

i put on a case that i ordered off of ebay and somehow managed to put the top of the case on backwards. I've tried a credit card and my fingernails and none them are working. so i don't know what to do now and I'm afraid I'm going to break my new macbook air.

Without seeing it, I would not suggest anything. As a suggestion, why not take it in to an Apple store and see if they will help. They should know if removing it would stress the glass.

  • Macbook Air Case - HELP

    Hello!
I had my macbook air for about a month when it was splashed with water and completely died the cost of repair was 1300 more then the actual laptop. With this being said dose anyone know of a good WATERPROOF hard shell case of soft sleeve. I have looked on this support comunity/ google/ amazon / ebay and have yet to find one.

There isn't a case out there which will allow you to use the MacBook Air and offer waterproof protection.
There is a process called Liquipel or HZO Waterblock, which repels water from electronics itself. There are plenty of Youtube videos that show Liquipel in action.
They offer the waterproofing service for smart phones and tablets, but not laptops YET.
    Hopefully, soon.

  • Increase text size for macbook air.

The text is a bit too small for me across email/internet/pages etc.
How do I increase the text size in preferences? Can't seem to find it

If you are using Safari, from the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Try the font accessibility feature. Or, from the Safari menu bar click View > Zoom In or Zoom Out. You can also elect to choose Zoom Text Only.
For Mail. From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select Fonts & Colors
If none of the above help, try a different screen resolution.
Open System Preferences > Displays > Display then select Scaled.
And try System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom

  • Popping and Squeeking when bottom of Macbook Air is touched or moved

Does anyone else experience squeaking or popping sounds coming from the base of their Macbook Air case (late 2010)? It seems like it makes noise every time I touch it. My unit is only 3 days out of the box, and I haven't taken it out of the house and I have not damaged it. I suspected a loose screw, but the screws on the bottom are WAY too small for any tools I have.
    Is this something common?

Just got back from the apple store... see previous post.
I showed him the noise my MBA was making, and he also said this was not normal. I told him that from what I read on some of these forums is that some people have gotten the problem fixed by "reseating" their macbook, however, he tried this, left the genius bar for 5 minutes and said it did not fix the problem and told me they were going to give me a new one. He brought out the brand new MBA with my old hard drive in it so I did not have to set it up again.
I am now here with a brand new MBA. They replaced it on the spot, no questions asked, and my warranty restarts today. My old MBA was bought on Dec. 16th, 2010, so it has been nearly a month and they still replaced it no problem. Best customer service I've received in a long time. Props to Apple.

  • HT4889 When I transferred my data from a 128GB Macbook Air to 256GB Macbook Air (brand new version as of 9/1/13) I end up with 188GB used!   I add up the size of Users, System, Library and Applications and it comes to 90GB.  What am I missing?

When I transferred my data from a 128GB Macbook Air to 256GB Macbook Air (brand new version as of 9/1/13) I end up with 188GB used!   I add up the size of Users, System, Library and Applications and it comes to 90GB.  What am I missing?  How did I "use" up so much space in migrating from one Mac to another?

Did you use the Setup Assistant available at the beginning of the new machine's setup process? Or did you use Migration Assistant later after you had set up the new machine?
If you used Migration Assistant, you generally wind up with two accounts (the new one you set up on the new machine plus the old one you ported over) - that may explain your excessive use of space. In that case, you can either manually combine/remove all unnecessary duplicate files, or you can start over by using Command + R, wiping your drive, and downloading the OS. Once it's downloaded, use the Setup Assistant offered at the beginning of the install/setup process.

  • How to change font size permanently on macbook air

I would like to change the font size permanently but being very new to Macbook Air I cannot get it done permanently.

The guest user icon is a PNG file stored deep within OS X. I don't recommend you change operating system components that exist at that level though. Besides, the change is not likely to survive an OS X update.
If you really want to change it I'll post its location, but you'll be on your own if something breaks.
Edit: You'd be facing the same problem as in your other question: How to change folder symbol on desktop back to original? Modifying the Mac's basic user interface fundamentals can result in instability. If you want to perform that sort of customization anyway, always have a backup strategy in case something goes wrong. To learn how to back up and restore read Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac.

  • How do I find the size of my email accounts on my macbook air?

I have a macbook air mid 2012 and have Yosemite 10.10
How do I determine how much storage space all my emails are taking up?

    Hi ..
    Open Mac Mail.
On the left right or control click the first mailbox then click: Get Account Info
Then select the mail account from the Account pop up menu then select the Quota Limits tab.
The size of each mailbox should show on the right.

I have loaded windows 8.1 via bootcamp on my macbook air 11 inch how can i adjust font size. I have to do a lot of work in office 2013 and it is very very difficult to see the screen.

Microsoft store will provide a download manager (.exe) using your Product Key, which needs to be run on a PC. This manager will then let you download an ISO image to a USB and/or DVD.

  • Should i get the sleeve or the case for my macbook air 13 inch. I work under air conditioned room most of the time. I also store my macbook air in an air conditioned room 24/7.

I am a college student but I don't really bring my Mac with me all time. I have read that room temperature affects the macbook air and that it needs an optimum temperature. Some sites suggested sleeves as opposed to cases for room with cold temperature. What do you guys think since I use and store my macbook in a cold room. Thanks!!

    Hey kesh888,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you have a question about the operating temperature of a MacBook Air. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
    Mac notebooks: Operating temperature
The location you are using your notebook should be within these ranges:
    Operating temperature: 50° to 95° F (10° to 35° C)
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • Where can I purchase a rubber/silicone case for my MacBook air?

I am searching for a silicone (soft) case for my MacBook Air.  Does anyone know where I may purchase one?  I'm not referring to the rubberized hard shell cases found via Amazon and/or eBay.  I want one that is similar to the silicone cases you put on an iPod or iPad.

Haven't seen one of those, but I did find a thin, padded neoprene case by NuCase at the Apple store...check the on-line store and see what they have.

  • What case/sleeve should I get for my macbook air 11"?

I just got a macbook air 11" for Christmas, and don't know what kind of case to get. I carry it around in my backpack everyday for school, so I need a solid case. A lot of my friends have the hard case and a neoprene case/sleeve. I used a neoprene case/sleeve for my macbook (white) but I've noticed that this unibody design makes the computer a lot more prone to denting easily. Any ideas on what cases to get?

Your Macbook charger will specify the number of watts it uses (very fine print somewhere on the charger brick).  Your inverter MUST be able provide at least that much power, or I'm guessing your Macbook charger would have problems.
