Size of site

When I open the dialogbox "new site" I write 1024x768 in size, but when I import a picture with that size I get a lot of white space around it. Why? What do I do wrong?

Hi Anders,
Please can you attach a screen grab of your Muse project here.
I think it would be best if you speak with Adobe Chat support or Tech support of you would like someone to look at the muse file itself, as they will be far more knowledgeable than me!
Thanks,
Ben

  • Resizing Flash Movie to Size of Site

I am developing a html Web site with a flash intro
and need help because I am learning all over again, not having done
    it in 3 years.
The screen is to start out white and fade to silver, which I
did quite nicely after many frustrating moments of relearning and
conditioning and realized it was quite simple. The movie is 600x400
and I developed the site at 1028x768 with my html layer for the
    site at: <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:125px;
    top:7px; width:686px; height:623px; z-index:1">. The flash movie
    layer is: <div id="Layer1" style="position:absolute; left:128px;
    top:-68px; width:602px; height:424px; z-index:1"> which I
changed to the html one and it did not work.
Then I went back to Flash and tried to change the movie size.
Well that was a trip. The stage is somehow off center to the right
and when I used the hand to move it, it did not work
Anyway, what I am trying to do is start the page off with a
white background full screen and have the flash movie start out as
white with a black dot and then fade to silver until the dot turns
into the logo. The flash movie does this, but I can't figure out
how to put it on the first page so when viewed the user will only
see the movie and not the movie with a white background. Also can't
figure what glitched when I was playing with it to get the stage
    off centered.
If you want to see the movie, I can show you and please no
jokes because the item my friend is selling is a bit different but
    highly used
    Thank you in advance...StarShine

Am I missing something or your long story has nothing to do
with "Resizing Flash Movie to Size of Site"?
If you want your flash file to be displayed full
size in browser window try setting the "width" and "height"
parameters in "object" and "embed" tag to "100%".

  • How can i keep zoomed in a certain size different sites without having to zoom in every time each site?

when i open Firefox, the size of the letters is small and i can't see well. i zoom in a certain size, but when i open a new site the letters return to their previous size.. how can i preserve a certain size off letters without having to do the same thing (zoom in ) every time i open a new site? the analysis at my laptop is 1920*1080..

The Firefox [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Page+Zoom Page Zoom] feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox, as with some other browsers.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6965
Or the NoSquint extension: <br />

  • How to publish a small size flash site

I have made a total flash site but the exported site is 50 mb!!
Not a usable size, so I want to know how to make this site 'smaller'.
there are a ton of flash sites on the www, so I must do something wrong..
What is the normal file-size for a flash site?
    pleas help.
    grtz
    Daan

Typically a flash file only gets that large when you embed a lot of images or video.
If you want to shrink the size of the SWF, you will want to externalize those assets somehow.  If video, use progressive download and an FLVPlayback component.  If images, save them to a directory and load them at runtime with a Loader component.  Audio can be loaded at runtime very easily as well.
If there is detailed animation over the video that isn't interactive, export the entire animation as a video, and then load that in another file to decrease initial load time.
Typically, these days, a good size SWF comes in around 1-2 MB.  Ideally it would be much smaller than that, wherein the initial load should really be about 30-60 kb, so it will open in 1-3 seconds on a 56k connection, and then all other assets load after the initial load.

  • Size of site and images

I have just made my first website in iWeb v2.04 on a Mac Book Pro 17" OSX 10.6.4.
The total size of the published site looks rather small on my screen. I have a 17 inch screen and I understand that the site needs to be set to dimensions that can be seen on most screens...but is there any way to increase the size?
Also the photos on my gallery pages do not end up very big after clicking to enlarge. I have gone into the inspector (?) and increased the pixel width for each photo to what seems to be the max - 700 px. But they still look pretty small.
    Can I make them bigger?
    thanks
    Pete

just realised this should be in iWeb 08 section

  • Using firefox doesnt work with windows 7, cant change font or viewing size of sites, why?

viewing on my hp 2310m monitor is very condensed and small, toolbars are ok to view

You can use the NoSquint extension to set font size (text/page zoom) and text color on web pages.

  • Script to inventory sites, sizes, etc?

Does anyone know of a good PS script that will go through a web app and do a good inventory of all the sites?
We are thinking about upgrading our SP2010 internal farms and my manager wants me to gather the following info for every site:
    - Farm
    - Site Collection
    - Site Name
    - Site URL
    - Site Description
    - Site Owner
    - MANAGER or SUPERVISOR of Site Owner
    - Size of site
The site owner is going to be tough.  I figure I can just grab the permissions from the site if possible and the break out who is in the (site) Owners Group.   When we first started using SP on each site we put a contact web part that listed one
person as the official site owner.  That worked pretty good for the first several years, but unfortunately MANY of them are out of date, or the web part got deleted, and so on.
Getting the site owner's supervisor's name is going to be much more complicated.  If anyone has any ideas on how I can pull that out of AD automagically I'd appreciate hearing it.
    Thanks much in advance.

    Hi Ted,
To get the email address set in the Access Request Settings in SharePoint site, we can use SPWeb.RequestAccessEmail property to get the email addresses.
You can refer to the link below about using PowerShell to get the email addresses:

  • Mismatch between the Content Database size and the total of each site collection' storage used.

    Hi All,
    Environment:  SharePoint 2010 with SP2.
Issue: One of the Content databases size in our farm shows 200 GB as used. There are 25 site collections in the DB and we counted
the total storage used of all site collections in that Content DB and is not more than 40 GB. (used "enumsites" command and counted the each sitecollections storage used).
    What actions/troubleshooting were done?
Ran one script which will find the actual size of site collection and how much space used in the disk. But didn’t find major difference in the report.
Checked “Deleted from end user recycle bin “in all the site collections and no major storage is noticed.
Planning to Detach the problematic Content DB and attach ,will check whether any major effect is there
Why the Content DB shows 200 GB as used when the total storage used of all site collections is just 40 GB.
    Appreciate suggestions from any one.
    Best Regards,
    Pavan Kumar Sapara.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
As there is only 20 MB of unallocated space for the above said DB, SQL DB team informed that they cannot perform the DB shrink at this moment.
So we are thinking to Offload all the site collections to other new DB and then will Drop the problematic database. In this way we can overcome the
    issue.
    Answer for your queries.
Are the mismatched sizes causing an issue? Are you short on diskspace for DB storage or SQL backups?
No, there is no issue with the mismatched sizes. We are not on short on disk space. We just worried why it occupies that much size(200 GB) when
the total storage used of all site collections in that DB is 40 GB.
    Best Regards,
    Pavan Kumar Sapara.

  • IWeb error messages -- can't publish large site after upgrade.

I just upgraded to iLife 09 and all of my websites showed up red in the new iWeb - indicating that they needed to be published. I hadn't changed any of them since the upgrade but I figured it was part of the upgrade to republish all of them.
Whenever I try to publish the sites I get the following message:
An error occurred while publishing file “/private/var/folders/pM/pMWBd0yEF04cfDIeAZkuPE+TI/TemporaryItems/com.apple.iWeb7281_TEMP_288612390_15/sites/JW/Things_and_Such_files/shapeimage2.png”. Try publishing again later.
I've tried all the usual suggestions. I threw away the preferences files and cache files for iWeb. I logged out of MobileMe and logged back in. I tried to publish from an older version of my Domain file from Time Machine. If I tell it to publish the site to my desktop then it works just fine. The site that it has problems with creates a 179MB folder on my desktop when I publish to my desktop. The other two sites that I have in iWeb publish perfectly in MobileMe but are not bigger than 3 MB each.
I tried moving parts of the larger site out of it, publishing the significantly shrunken page and then adding the rest back in smaller pieces. It will publish the smaller selection with no problem. It won't let me add the pieces back in, however. IWeb freezes up when I try and I have to reload the previous Domain file from Time Machine.
So, my question is: Is there a limit to the size of site that can be published using iWeb? If so how do I get around this?

    Reboot fixed it.

  • Troublemaking with flash site + chrome

    Hi
I finally got my site up and running. it's a completely flash-based site.
when I visit it with Google Chrome, for some reason, the site is "squeezed" into the window size - my site is much longer than that so that's not good at all.
I've tried with Safari and Firefox and they don't give me that problem at all.
I'm not an expert on programming, but when I published the html I made sure that the 'no scale' is on.
Does anybody know why it happens in chrome, and if there's a way to fix it through the html file?
    thanks.

    Try the following
close all browser windows and open Windows Explorer
in the address bar type %appdata%\Adobe
delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there
in the address bar type %appdata%\Macromedia
delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there
Now try again to change any Flash Player settings.

  • Why is the font size for hot links smaller than other text on some web pages

On some web sites, the hotlinked words and some words in colour appear in a smaller font than they were designed to be.
When the web master changed the colour to black on one title at the website noted below, it appeared in the correct size.

    That site is designed that way: font-size: x-small;
    <pre><nowiki> A:link { font-family: Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif; font-size: x-small; color: rgb(0,51,204); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal;}</nowiki></pre>

  • Sizing a Site Server

    Hi,
i have 5000 clients and i have to size the site server, 2000 are in the same location, others are located on different sites.
I have to deploy all role on a same server (Stand-alone primary site) with all roles (SQL + SCCM roles)+WSUS.
What hardware configuration can meet this need?
it 's best practice to have all roles on the same server? what roles can deployed on separate server?
    Thanks
    Lourh

Honestly "best practice" is to plan out your usage goals first then figure out how to break up the roles.
Example:  you planning to push 500 Desktop refreshes to that office?  Might want to look into a number of dedicated DP/PXE boxes for bandwidth I/O reasons.
That said, there are some pretty basic values to start with:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh846235.aspx#BKMK_ReqSiteServer
I _personally_ like using a minimum of two servers:  1 for SQL and the SCCM site server role, 1 for "everything else" (generally everything client facing).  Basically it emulates a kind of backend/frontend model that tends to operate
smooth for me with little/no conflicts (for example no worries about installing SQL reporting services on a custom port because neither SQL nor the site server need port 80, and yet no reason to do fancy permission games with a SQL team because technically
    it's local to SCCM).
But again:  the best answer is to design SCCM around your usage goals rather than build and re-arrange later.

  • How to make Forefront TMG build VPN site-to-site tunnel with reduced subnet

I am trying to implement a Site-to-Site VPN tunnel with a supplier. We are using Forefront TMG 2010 SP2 (Site A) and they are using Cisco ASA (Site B)
I have complete access to SITE A, but no access to Site B (suppliers end)
We have set up the VPN tunnel, but it will only come up if it is initiated from the Site B end. We know this is because there is a mismatch in the expected network size. Site B fits within Site A, but not the other way round.
The tunnel is set up at Site A with an allowed route of 10.0.2.60/30 and matched with a configuration at the other end. This configuration is If I look at the "Site-to-site" summary on TMG.
However, my counterpart at site B tells me that when the TMG actually tries to build the tunning, it is not specifying 10.0.2.60/30 but 10.0.2.0/24
I should also mention that TMG internal ip is 10.0.2.6 ,that we only 10.0.2.61 and 10.0.2.62 should be allowed through the tunnel, and that due to existing VPNs on the supplier site, they cannot increase the size of the network on their side to match the 10.0.2.0/24
    range
I am a at a bit of a loss why this is happening. Does any one have any guidance, I don't really even know what terminology to use to effectively search for an answer

    Hi,
Which VPN protocol you have used?
What is the network addresses you have configure in Create Site-to-Site Connection Wizard? Did you mean that the IP range changed on site B after you created the VPN connection? Please make sure that the ranges match the internal ranges at the site B.
In addition, I am quite sure of your IP ranges for both sites, I would appreciate it if you can tell the IP range for TMG server internal network and the site B.
Beside, you can refer to the link below:
Test Lab Guide: Demonstrate Site to Site VPN with Threat Management Gateway 2010 (Part 1) (Note: Microsoft
is providing this information as a convenience to you. Please make sure that you completely understand the risk before retrieving any suggestions from the above link.)

  • Document library limitation for a single site

    Hi Friends,
How many document library I am able to create within a single site.
My requirement is to create a 400 document library within a single site and each document library I need to place a 5000 document.
anyone having any idea. Please share!
    Thanks
    Mohd Yusuf

    Hi Mohd,
As far as I know, the limitations for the amount of document libraries in a single site  are governed by the Site itself which is constrained by content database limits. A site can be as large as the content database size limit for the site
collection usage scenario and a site collection can be as large as the content database size limit for the applicable usage scenario. In general, we strongly recommend limiting the size of site collections to 100 GB.
