Sizing gif image in report

We have a number of reports that have been converted from BO v5 that had a logo at the top of the first page. Having converted them to Webi, we cannot now get the logo to display properly. For example, if one of the original logo files is examined in a graphics package it is sized at 616 x 284 pixels and when inserted into a Word or Excel document measures approximately 4cm wide. However, when the same image is inserted into a Webi document, and the 'autofit width' and 'autofit height' parameters are selected, it is approximately 16cm wide. We have tried adjusting the 'width' & 'height' paramaters to be the same size as the original image file, but that just resizes the cell containing the image and causes only part of the image to be displayed. We have also tried resizing the image in a graphics package first, and although this renders it nearer the correct size, the image quality is lost.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Hi,
As far as i know these are all the formatting problems due to migration from 5x or 6x to XI. The problem you are facing is also due to migration. Try deleting the image and reinsert it.
I think its not great suggestion but try it and see.

Remove your image from the page. Go to Modify->Page Properties. Then for Appearance (CSS) there is an option for a background image for your page. Browse to your image and then it will be a background that you can place your content over.

How to Print GIF image in XML RTF Report

I have one requirement like to print the GIF image in Oracle Report.
The report is an XML Report.
The image file stored in database, the table is fnd_attached_docs_form_vl.
select distinct file_name from fnd_attached_docs_form_vl
Front end Navigation ----->
view -----> Attachments
Now i need to get the image from there and print it report.
Can you pls help me.

Gif images in pdf file generated from Reports 6i

Hello,
When I generate pdf file from Reports Builder 6i and open this file with Acrobat Reader 5.0 I get that some of my gifs are black or other color.
When I generate the same report to the live previewer everything is OK.
Is it a Reports 6i bug? Any workarounds?

If u generate the report output to PDF from the report
GIF images doesn't show up properly . Generate it from the
application then i think it will print clearly.
If u try to print text followed by image and followed by text
again PDF will not print

Converted GIF Images Does Not Display In Report

I have a wmf file that contains an image. I converted the wmf file into a gif using software A. This image displays correctly in Oracle Forms and Reports (9.0.4). I take the same wmf file and use software B to convert the file into a gif. Using the same form and report, the gif image displays in Oracle Forms but doesn't display in Oracle Reports. I don't see why a gif image coverted from software A works properly but not when converted from software B. They are both gif images as a result of the conversion from the same wmf source file.
The reason I prefer software B is because it's a command line executable and the output is close to the original wmf file. When using the command line executabe from software A to convert the wmf file, the resulting gif file is 1/4 the original size and blocky when resized to the original wmf dimensions.
Is this an Oracle Reports issue/setting or the converter I'm using?

Yes I run IE as Administrator. please find screen shots.
Also, SQL Server is running in SQL server and windows authentication mode. and when i connect data source in BIDS with windows authentication, test shows success but with another login id ReportServerLogin it does not connect. ReportServerLogin login has
all rights given and is there as sysadmin.

No data found when display image in report

Hi,
I have a table with a blob field in it which I use to store some image (gif),
I tried to display the image in report but follow the guideline in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21674/advnc_blob.htm#BCGBCHBD
but when I run the report, error
"report error:
ORA-01403: no data found"
prompt, I do not have MIME,FILENAME column in the table, so I define only
IMAGE,Table Name,Column containing BLOB,Primary Key Column 1 and Primary Key Column 2 in the report column.
Anyone has also this problem?

I found that the problem is there when I select the option
"Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)" in the report.
Is this a bug?

How can i show gif files through reports

I have blob column in a table and i store text with some gif files there ...i made a report for that and i set the property of blob item like ..file format as "text" and containes html tags "yes" then i generate the report on html but when i see the on html i can see only text not any picture like .gif file ..
if any body have the solutuion to show .gif files with text then tell me ...

you say, you store text with gif images in a blob. the question would be, in what format. if you store HTML text there, the images are actually not stored in the document but only references to them. you might then check the src attributes of your IMG tags if they point to valid destinations.

Gif images in safari taking up cpu

is anyone else having this problem in safari version 4 beta?
i never used to have an issue w/ animated gif images w/ safari..but ever since i started using the latest safari gif images seem to take up 98-116% of cpu.
will this issue be fixed soon on the next safari update?

This isnt a perceived problem I have it too and it is very very annoying.
Safari will literally freeze to the point of becoming completely unresponsive and showing the beachball of death on pages with large animated gifs that display with no problems in firefox. This is a big problem on a lot of forums. I've also found several other people reporting the same problem while googling for a solution.

once you scroll down to the section with the animated gifs it will soon become completely unresponsive (beware that this will freeze your safari for a while and it might be a while before it becomes responsive again and lets you close the offending window).
overall performance with animated gifs also seems to be much worse than other browsers, even when it doesnt freeze completely.

Image on reports

Hello.
We have a problem with images on reports (6.0.8.11.3).
We want to display an image that can change dinamically. We used the technique of formula column - ABC object in the layout model and everything was ok, but:
- When the image is larger or smaller than the abc object reports show it (in the prewiever) some times smaller, sometimes it doesn't show at all. We tried with all kinds of images (bmp, gif ...).
Is there any technique we can use to ensure that the image will be properly displayed? Note that we can't use a link file because we can't chage its source dinamically like we do with an abc object.

Try setting vertical elasticy and horizantal elasticity both as variables in property sheet of image. It worked for me.

Image in reports 11g

Hi,
I wan to add a image in report 11g. but i dont want to mention the full path of image.
For e.g. I have a image img1.GIF at c:\images\ folder.
So when in develope a report i waht to just mention img1.GIF nod not full path c:\images\img1.GIF.
Can you help me with the default directory where i can save image and i can just mention image file name and compile my report.

one way is to go to report layout, click insert, image
you have to save the image with your report where the path is in REPORTS_PATH

Use Images in Reports in dependency of more than one criteria

I would like to use Images in Reports as described in Tips & Tricks (green and red point image), but I don't know how to do this if I have more than on criteria. The point is, how to link it to the report. 
I wrote this pl/sql-code, he would check the criterias:

Firefox lags with youtube and .gif images

Everytime I try to watch a video on YouTube or even on other sites FireFox lags aprox every 10 seconds. Is annoying. The same thing happens with .gif images.
How can I fix this?

This can be a problem with session restore.
Firefox stores session data every 10 seconds to make it possible to restore a crashed session.
If you have (security) software that interferes with that or have many tabs open then that cause cause a delay.
Some have reported that increasing the session store saving interval worked for them.
