Sizing Issue from SWF output?

Sorry to flood the forum with questions. I'm in the first of
what will likely be a number of late nights as my first major
captivate project went from green light to red light status in
about 15 minutes when I had my first demo.
Ok - our company standard (as defined by the one other person
here who has developed Captivate elearning) is to size
presentations at 1014 X 713 . When published as an executable, our
standard practice, this fits nicely in a 1024x768 resolution screen
while allowing access to the start menu and the window bar in
Windows.
A customer requested a SCORM compliant presentation for
integration with their LMS. I can only publish SWF if I'm SCORM
compliant. Even though I removed the margin in the skin settings,
whenever I publish in SWF and open the html file with Internet
explorer, there's a border/margin around the player and the screen
now requires scrolling. I did notice that if I open the SWF file
directly with internet explorer, it seems to automatically resize
to the IE window, which hurts the image quality.
I've been troubleshooting and testing for several hours and I
can't seem to find any way around this issue other than to just
resize the whole thing and spend hours more fixing all the text
that's affected or start over. If SCORM compliance stays a
deliverable, do I have any other options?

Hi Andrew
Normally I don't recommend resizing Captivate movies -- but
in your case, having put a lot of work into completing the movie at
1014 X 713, it's probably your only option for a quick fix. Rather
than rescale the slides (which will inevitably result in loss of
image quality) I recommend that you choose the Crop option (beneath
"If new size is smaller"). Also deselect the
Maintain aspect ratio option to ensure that you don't end up
unnecessarily reducing the height of the movie too. Hopefully you
won't lose any critical information at the sides of your movie as a
result of the crop -- you will need to test carefully for this.

Cannot Open URL from SWF

I'm sure this has been covered and that the solution is
simple, but I am at a loss.
I cannot get a URL to open from my SWF file using either a
click box or button, although it works perfectly fine when I
publish to an EXE.
Is there an internet security option that would affect this?
I have no problem opening other movies or files.
This is most frustrating. Any suggestions?

them, what is the
exact URL you are typing?
It's been my experience that this works just fine from either
.SWF output or .EXE output. But I'm hopeful that knowing the
answers to my questions may help you to resolve the issue.

Croping and sizing issues

I have been using lightroom 4 for about 5 months. But I am having issues with croping and sizing of pictures. When I use the crop tool it does not always draw the picture in closer. I do shoot in RAW and not in JPEG. I was wodering if there is a setting that I am not using or its not avaiable. Also when I export out of lightroom4 and convert them from RAW to JPEG I have sizing issues depending on what size the customer orders. I have tried to export them out at certain sizes but its still not correct. The only way I have found to do it is going into photoshop and sizing them correctly but its very time consumeing . Any help would be great!!

You didn't tell us the desired output. All you said "...but its still not correct". What output are you trying to obtain?
Also, what do you mean "When I use the crop tool it does not always draw the picture in closer"? Normally, you drag a corner (or corners) of the crop rectangle to crop tighter. Are you doing this? Is it not working? Explain.

Issue in PDF output for xml report

Hi,
I developed one template in RTF and output in pdf is looks fine.
I have issue in the output, For some invoices i have more lines,when the line details comes to next page for the same invoice i can able to view only the lines information in the next pages for the same invoice without any header details.
I need header information too if the lines comes to the next page.
i given <G_Headers> in the top of the page and <End for each> in the end of the page.
please how to resolve this issue.

There are lot of ways of doing this,
Simple one is given here.
If you are using table to display the rows, there is option in word table properties, to repeat the header in each page,
Repeating table headers
If your data is displayed in a table, and you expect the table to extend across
multiple pages, you can define the header rows that you want to repeat at the start
of each page.
1. Select the row(s) you wish to repeat on each page.
2. From the Table menu, select Heading Rows Repeat

Can you fix your help project (via coding) after importing a topic from an output file by mistake?

Yes - I admit it - I imported html topic files from an output folder of another RH project into the help project I am currently working on (the source files were lost and I needed to bring over a lot of legacy content in a hurry). However, I completely forget that the RH output html file contains unique Java scripting that is used to render the topic properly in a browser, but that same Java Script causes havoc when you open it up in as a source file in another RH Project. Needless to say, it has caused numerous weird things when I went to publish and view my files (but, surprisingly, you don’t really see or notice them in the RH Design WYSIWYG view or preview mode).
The bad news is that it took about 2 weeks for me to notice the issue (the help output is viewed on a special console running Linux with a QT browser that I only view occasionally). The good news is that is that I figured out what the problem was (that took some hours) and I can restore my help project back to a time before I did the "naughty deed".
I am now at a crossroads - do I:
Try to re-enter all of my content from the last two weeks? (Actually, to avoid repeating the same mistake twice, I will need to re-enter the text manually and NOT cut and paste from the RH output files!)
Or locate and find the offending HTML coding in my topic files (if that is even possible)? Has anybody documented what the RH output file JavaScript code injects into your files, and what files they affect?

OK - here is the documentation of this weird issue (hopefully, you can read the htlm code in the screen images):
1. In this topic, I cut and pasted some text into the table you see at the bottom of the screen. I had to reapply the “TableBody” style to this text. After doing this, I moved my cursor to the “Keyboard" text on top. Notice that it is displaying the "TABLEBODY" style, although visually, it is displaying the correct style on screen (“Heading 1”).
2.     In HTML view, notice the addition of the class= “TableBody”> code for this “Keyboard” text.
3.   I then reselected Heading 1 for this “Keyboard” text.
4.   Notice that the class= “TableBody”> code is now removed for this “Keyboard” text and has just the proper <h1> tagged assigned.

Pops and random glitches from audio output

Hi,
I've been experiencing some issues from the audio output. There is a pop sound before and after a single sound is played and stopped. When this happens, the console shows the stack shots enabled/disabled pair of messages. I've seen threads about this messages and the popping sounds, but no solutions really.
I also get a totally random sound from the speakers (tested different systems) at any given moment. Sometimes browsing the internet, playing a quicktime movie or just doing nothing. I've noticed that it gets really bad when I play chess at chess.com, which uses an interface (not sure what).
So, this is the thing, I'm a musician and I use my mac for music purposes, so you can imagine how annoying it can be to have pops and glitches on a supposedly state-of-the-art machine

Take your MBP to an Apple Store so that the Geniuses can run diagnostic tests. They will let you know if it's a hardware problem or if you are stuck w/it.

Sizing Issue

I'm doing a project for school and having some sizing issues
with my pages. earlier in the project my partner and I had some
major issues with style sheets and banner headings, but now
whenever we preview a page it changes size. We have about 10 pages
and when you change from page to page the main text area either
becomes really big, shrinking the other text areas, or becomes
extremely small letting the other text areas take over. Can anyone
tell me what we are doing wrong and how to dix this problem?

DESADV is not generated during Goods issue from VT02N.

Any idea what was missing?

Please goto tcode VL10CUC. For Profile 2000, please check whether
indicator "No OutputDet." is flagged.
Please unflag that indicator and then retest.

OpenGL "As it will render from my output device"

I'm trying to decide if I need to use OpenGL (there's no question I would use it if my videocard made it available, but that's another issue)
An excellent article about it is on http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/photoshop-cs6-gimp-aftershot-pro,3208.html . This was referenced in another Photoshop discussion in this forum.
Before reading the article I reviewed http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-cs4/using-opengl-optimization/ "Using OpenGL optimization" in which the statement is made "...so that I can actually soft proof sharpening as it will render from my output device."
Assuming that "output device" is referring to something that produces hard copy (i.e., a printer)... It has always been my impression that imagery displayed from a light emitting device (e.g., monitor) is inherently different from the same image displayed employing reflective light (e.g., hard copy).
A simpler example is designing a logo employing colors for a client in a remote location? No matter how well calibrated the local and remote computer screens are one can never be sure the artist and client are seeing the same colors (human eysight concerns notwithstanding). Furthermore if that logo is going to appear in hardcopy, it's still necessary to specify Pantone colors in the program and employ a (hardcopy!) Pantone source to accurately communicate color choices to the client.
Question: How does OpenGL change the relationship computer graphics users have always had to hard copy?

I don’t understand, but I’m fascinated.
Color “description” has been a philosophical conundrum for eons.
Since I’d not heard of FOGRA, I immediately looked it up. I was not able to get anything definitive (if you know of web sites that explain it well please let me know). What did happen as I perused web sites relating to the subject (including www.fogra.org which is in German; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HKS_(colour_system)) was that many of them referred to or pictured swatch books not that different from the Pantone one I mentioned—and not as outdated technology.
So I’d really like to know:
What do you mean by “communicating color intents within a standardized environment” (unless that standard environment consists of a swatch book).
How might two lay people (not scientists, though I doubt it would be different for them, since it is basically a perceptual dilemma) might “communicate” any (Pantone) color using FOGRA standards and be ensured that each of them is having the same (reflective color) experience. (In other words, when push comes to shove it is about actually “seeing” the same colors.)

Issues Playing SWFs in Captivate 5.5

Hi all,
I'm hoping you can help me out with this problem. I am trying to insert about 10 .swf videos into my Captivate 5.5 project and they will not play in Preview or in a browser. I added them by going to Insert > Animation and the animation outline shows on the screen. The linkage shows the clip located locally on my desktop and the source points to the .fla file, which is also local. Each .swf was created by me and is done using AS3. I do have the files in .flv but am trying to avoid using them due to receiving a loading screen for about a half second before autoplaying each video. Can anyone point me in the right direction? There is nothing on the slides besides the .swf file. The .swf files play without any issue from my desktop using Flash Player 10.

Sorry but we need more information. Your post is similar to walking into a garage and saying your car won't go. It leaves too much to the imagination.
Does it start? Does it go into gear? Does it sputter and die when you press the accelerator pedal? Are the brakes locked up?
So you told us you inserted an FLV and it doesn't play. Where are you expecting to see it play?
Did you expect to see the FLV begin playing immediately upon inserting it on the slide? Like you would if you opened a YouTube page on the web? If so, that doesnt' happen. You just inserted a placeholder that will present the video after you publish your movie.
Did you preview and you aren't seeing the video play during the preview? If so, how exactly did you preview? There are many ways. Perhaps the manner in which you are previewing doesn't allow the video.
Did you publish and you aren't seeing the video after you publish? If so, where are you running the file from? Local PC or did you copy it to a web server?
As you can hopefully see, there aren't any pat answers. We need lots more information.

For the FlashContainerPlaceholder, the first child is now MyFlexContentHolder, which extends mx.flash.FlexContentHolder but meets the invariant that it has 1 child and that child is FlexContentHolderThumbnail, which I?\226?\128?\153ve added as a swc to the project. I changed this by accident last time to refer to mx.flash.FlexContentHolder, when it should've referred to a concrete instance created by Flash from a swc. I also added a chrome of 151x151 to match the FlexContentHolderThumbnail since otherwise the container itself would have no chrome at all, and this let?\226?\128?\153s it size correctly.
Also, for sizing, in a container, rather than sizing to the size of the chrome, I now size to the size of the FlexContentHolder thumbnail that all FlexContentHolder?\226?\128?\153s have. This means in ContainerMovieClip, I don?\226?\128?\153t need to override bounds anymore.
ContainerMovieClip now implements IVisualElementContainer.
Also, I fixed a resizing event bug in UIMovieClip where the resize event was getting dispatched more than once.

How to suppress blank pages in 11i from printer output

Hi All,
We were working on Oracle Reports and registering in 11i thr concurrent program and while running thr concurrent request we are getting blank pages from printer output, please let me know how to suppress blank pages as i need to get printouts without any white pages.
Say for example if we run concurrent request and o/p is 10 pages which consists of 3 blank pages so finally we need to get printer o/p with 7 pages which are having data as i need to stop printing which are having white pages.
Please help as this a critical scenario.....

How can I get back old issues from my TIME app?

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I've been trying to get help for a month now. I had purchased several issues from TIME app but when I just got my ipad 2, I couldn't get the issues back. I used the same ID and password. I decided to try buying a new issue and when I did, I had an email from itunes warning me that it was not my usual ID. I am very confused. I wrote to TIME and they say I should contact itunes. I have spent hours trying to contact itunes for help. They seem uncontactable. Can someone please tell me if I can somehow get my old issues back?
