Sizing Issue

I'm doing a project for school and having some sizing issues
with my pages. earlier in the project my partner and I had some
major issues with style sheets and banner headings, but now
whenever we preview a page it changes size. We have about 10 pages
and when you change from page to page the main text area either
becomes really big, shrinking the other text areas, or becomes
extremely small letting the other text areas take over. Can anyone
tell me what we are doing wrong and how to dix this problem?

Can you post a link to these pages, please?

  • How do I avoid sizing issues with a Bevel?

I am designing a logo for a startup business, and a beveled filter really looks nice for this particular company. The client really likes what I came up with. The problem is the filter seems to cause sizing issues. Enlarging it is creating ugly pixelation. Is there a method for avoiding this, or can I simply not use a bevel?
    Thanks.

The changes here are mostly fixing some sizing issues.
For the FlashContainerPlaceholder, the first child is now MyFlexContentHolder, which extends mx.flash.FlexContentHolder but meets the invariant that it has 1 child and that child is FlexContentHolderThumbnail, which I?\226?\128?\153ve added as a swc to the project. I changed this by accident last time to refer to mx.flash.FlexContentHolder, when it should've referred to a concrete instance created by Flash from a swc. I also added a chrome of 151x151 to match the FlexContentHolderThumbnail since otherwise the container itself would have no chrome at all, and this let?\226?\128?\153s it size correctly.
Also, for sizing, in a container, rather than sizing to the size of the chrome, I now size to the size of the FlexContentHolder thumbnail that all FlexContentHolder?\226?\128?\153s have. This means in ContainerMovieClip, I don?\226?\128?\153t need to override bounds anymore.
    ContainerMovieClip now implements IVisualElementContainer.
Also, I fixed a resizing event bug in UIMovieClip where the resize event was getting dispatched more than once.

  • Croping and sizing issues

I have been using lightroom 4 for about 5 months.  But I am having issues with croping and sizing of pictures.  When I use the crop tool it does not always draw the picture in closer. I do shoot in RAW and not in JPEG.    I was wodering if there is a setting that I am not using or its not avaiable.  Also when I export out of lightroom4 and convert them from RAW to JPEG I have sizing issues depending on what size the customer orders.  I have tried to export them out at certain sizes but its still not correct.  The only way I have found to do it is going into photoshop and sizing them correctly but its very time consumeing .  Any help would be great!!

You didn't tell us the desired output. All you said "...but its still not correct". What output are you trying to obtain?
Also, what do you mean "When I use the crop tool it does not always draw the picture in closer"? Normally, you drag a corner (or corners) of the crop rectangle to crop tighter. Are you doing this? Is it not working? Explain.

  • WebView sizing issue

    Hi,
I'm embedding a WebView through a JFXPanel in a existing Swing app and running into some issues regarding to sizing.
My issue is that sometimes the height/width reported in JavaScript inside the WebView is 800*600, while most of the time it is reported to be equal to the dimensions of the WebView/Scene/JFXPanel. As the content I'm showing is a chart that renders itself to a size according to the dimensions of a parent DOM node, which is in this case the document.body, you can imagine that the results are wrong when the values reported in JavaScript for width and height are wrong.
Ideally what I want is that the size of the body of the HTML document automatically follows the dimensions of the JFXPanel, meaning that is the JFXPanel gets resized, the dimensions of the scene/WebView follow suit. As this is not possible AFAIK, I've now setup a ComponentListener on the JFXPanel to update the dimensions of the WebView through the componentResized method of the ComponentListener. However, this still gives me the mixed results.
I've setup a log of logging and I see that when the JavaScript layer reports the 800*600 dimensions, the dimensions of the WebView, Scene and JFXPanel are NOT reported as 800*600, but all report the actual size.
    My setup is as follows:
    - JFXPanel containing a Scene containing a WebView.
    - The scene is constructed without specifying a width/height
    - The JFXPanel is dimensioned by a special Swing layout manager
    - The WebView is loaded with custom HTML through loadContent() of the WebEngine
    - The body of the HTML document is sized 100%*100% through CSS
    - Dimensions in JavaScript are retrieved through document.body.getWidth/Height
    - In the custom HTML a chart is instantiated with the dimensions of the
    - Using Java 1.7 update 25 64bit on Windows with the bundled JavaFX
    Any thoughts appreciated.

  • Muse sizing issue

    Hello!
I am having a problem with the sizing of my website. When i view on a large screen (iMac) everyone looks spaced fine, but then when i test the same design on a Macbook laptop the design is no longer centered.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
    Thanks!
    Eric

    Hi Aish,
what should you do if you can't reduce the length of your muse site page? I've changed the page property settings and switched off the Sticky Footer but I'm still unable to make my page shorter as (annoyingly) the properties seem to revert back to their original settings. Is this a bug?

  • Odd character sizing issue

I'm having an issue with some odd character sizing (ID cs6). The font I'm using is Avenir Next Condensed Demi Bold (although this issue is happening with other font weights within the same family). The image below shows the problem, the u is slighly larger than the other characters. Sometimes this goes away on-screen depending on how close I zoom in, but the real problem is that it's printing slightly larger too. It's the same paragraph style, and I don't have any character styles applied... any ideas on what is going on here, and more crucially, how to fix this?  Thanks kindly in advance for any help with this.

Does this happen in other applications? How about AI, Word, LibreOffice, that sort of thing. Do you have another computer with Avenir installed you can test the font on?
    Mike

  • Application sizing issue

It seems like Flex apps don't size properly in Mozilla Firefox.
Do demonstrate, I made this sample application:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute">
    <mx:Canvas left="10" top="10" right="10" bottom="10" backgroundColor="#CA2020"> (don't worry about the color value...not accurate)
    </mx:Canvas>
    </mx:Application>
When deployed to the server (it works fine when launching the app throught the Flex Builder). Here's how it should look (in IE, Chrome and Safari):
And here's how it looks when viewed in mozilla FF:
Does anyone have ANY idea why is this happeneing and how to work around it.
In my current project I've asked the company to not list Mozilla FF in the "supported browsers" list, which is pretty embarrassing considering that a lots of people (including me) use Mozilla FF as our default browser.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Best Regards..........

    Hey Ryan,
Thanks for the input, but the situation stays the same.
The sizing of the wrapper has always been a choice, but I cannot do that, I want the flex app to resize itself with the browser size, rather than have the user resize the browser to get the full view of the app.
The height:100% solution did seem to be promising but alas!. Although, the width:100% works perfect.
I'm still looking for an alternative, if you have any other suggesstion, please do care to write.
    Thanks and Regards.......

  • CompositionElement sizing issue needs to be addressed.

Ok, so it's not just the PosterFrame and VideoElement inside a SerialElement that's sizing wrong.  It's anything inside a Parallel or Serial Element that includes an element with a temporal trait, and a static element such as RTMPPosterFrameElement, PosterFrameElement, or ImageElement.
I just tried to use ScaleMode.LETTERBOX with a ParallelElement that included a progressive AudioElement, and ImageElement.  The ImageElement does not size properly, and can be replicated in your ExamplePlayer flex project.
Just add the MediaPlayerWrapper to a container with a smaller fixed size (like a canvas container at 320x240 ).  You will notice that no Serial or Parallel Element with a static element will scale properly.
This needs to be addressed.  The direction for this functionality is great!  Having a Posterframe for Audio and Video is a must ... but it currently does not size properly.  The only acceptable ScaleMode is NONE.

The Layout system was created after our UI components, and a separate UIComponent was created to work with the Layout system.  We have a backlog item to fix this in the current sprint, starting today.  I have a work around below which demonstrates how to use this little know component call a RegionGateway.   Cheers!

  • Sizing Issue in CS4

    Hi All,
I am having an issue resizing items or creating new shapes. I can type in the desired size (2.125 x 3.125) in my rectangle tool and the size created is off (say 2.109 x 3.056). Then when i try to re-size using the transform palette the sizes will change from what I put in. Generally, I have to change the size 2-3 times before it takes. I've checked to make sure the "constrain" chain is not locking the two dimensions. I've checked preferences. It has to be something silly, one machine does it and one machine does not though I cannot find a difference in preferences. Can anyone help??? Many Thanks

    Jim,
    You may have corrupted preferences.
You may use the hint Move the folder here: http://www.bugge.com/Family-and-friends/Illy/illy.html for further explanations and instructions.
As far as I remember you may also hold down Ctrl/Cmd+Alt/Option+Shift during startup of Illy to delete preferences.
Deleting the preferences is irreversible; moving the folder is more thorough, and reversible.

  • Sizing issues when viewing size with mobile device

I'm having issues with Muse resizing my website when used with a mobile device. It cuts off the left and right side for some reason and I'm not sure the reason.
Below is how it should look based normally. It's at a 1024x786 resolution
This is what it looks like on my iPhone 5 (note it cutting off the sides) -- Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys!

The cause of that is because your content is lying beyond the left and right edge of the page in Muse. Please refer below screenshot.

  • Sizing issues with macbook

    Hi,
I've got a Macbook with os 10.4.11 and two problems re: sizing.
1st-I can't get it to print the full size on my canon mp830 printer. It reduces to about a third of the size and moves to the top left corner. I've tried everything I can think of to no avail. My wife has the exact same computer and hers works fine.
2nd-I can't reduce the size of photo's from iphoto and move them to my hotmail account. They are huge. Again, I've tried everything I can think of and it doesn't work.
I've posted these Q's before and tried what was suggested, but they didn't work.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    1) Go here: Macintosh HD > Users > YOURUSERNAME > Library > Preferences and delete the following files:
    com.apple.print.add.plist
    com.apple.custompresets.plist
    com.apple.print.printerproxy.plist
    com.apple.print.printingprefs.plist
Don't worry if all 4 files aren't there, just delete the ones that are.
    2) Go to System Preferences > Printers and remove your Cannon printer completely. Delete the whole thing. Then, restart your computer and re-add the printer by returning to System Preferences > printers.
    3) As for iPhoto, when you want to email a photo, choose "Email" from the bottom of iPhoto. A box pops up that asks you what size you want to send the photo as. Choose from small, medium, or large.

  • Instantiate MXML component in actionscript - percent sizing issues

    Hey guys,
I'm busting my head trying to sort out this issue.
I have a MXML custom component which is being instantiated in
    actionscript, e.g.:
    component:CustomComponent = new CustomComponent();
The custom component extends Canvas (i.e. the root XML tag is
a Canvas). Inside the component is another Canvas that wraps the
children so they can be laid out using constraint-based
measurements (e.g. top, left, right, bottom).
The component is then added to a VBox through
    addChild(component).
Here's the problem - the component doesn't appear on the
screen. It's because it's not getting a width and height set
correctly. If I bind the Canvas inside it to
    height="{parent.height}" and width="{parent.width}", then it
appears correctly. The problem with this is that the compiler warns
me that the binding won't be able to detect changes to the parent
sizes. This sux when I launch full screen mode because it doesn't
expand to fill the VBox (which sizes correctly).
Is there something I'm missing here? How does the percentage
based widths and heights get applied? Perhaps there's a breakdown
    in the flow or something.
    Thanks!!

Thanks Peter, but I've given that a go already.
I'm looking into trying to get the component instantiated
through MXML, and then returning it using it's ID. If another
container addChilds it, then the component will be removed from the
(temporary) display list it was previously added to (simply for
    instantiating), correct?
I think these layout issues are only when I instantiate it in
actionscript, but further poking should reveal the truth....

  • Panel sizing issues! IT'S TOO BIG FOR IT'S BOOTS!!!!!

    Hi there,
I have a Panel which I make the client of a ScrollPane. The ScrollPane is added onto a container. This is all fine. My challenge is that I have about eighteen components (labels - containing pictures, text areas, etc) on the one panel. The panel is set to BoxLayout (up and down style) which results in all the components being stacked one on top of the next. When the program runs the scrollPane is fine, and it has bars both horizontally and vertically. Ideally however I only want to have vertical scrollbars and no horizontal scrollbars because I want my content to be the width of the onscreen window. If I force the scrollPane's horizontal bar off then I can only see some of the content on the Panel because the Panel still takes up heaps of room. I have learned from this that it is not possible to control the size of the component that is the client of the scrollPane by playing with the scroll bars.
I figured the only logical way to get around my challenge is to control the size of the panel before it is made the client of the scrollPane. I set the size of the Panel explicitly with setSize(value1, value2) however the Panel still takes up a huge screen area.
Basically trying to explicitly set the Panel failed, the code compiled but there was no desirable outcomes. I really want to work out how to force the Panel to be a given size and then use only one scroll bar on the scrollPane. I figure that this is an issue related to BoxLayout, but I may be well of track with that hypothesis. My code is provided below if anybody can offer any clues they will be greatly appreciated.

Interestingly enough, the preferredLayoutSize method of the layout manager attached to the JScrollPane never gets called when the scroll pane is resized horizontally, only vertically. I found this out by subclassing BoxLayout so that it printed a string when certain methods were called. I did that after noticing that I can resize your help window vertically with no problem, but horizontally is a different story -- when I increase the horizontal size, the JPanel grows to fit, but when I decrease the horizontal size, the JPanel stays the same size. Returning smaller Dimensions in preferredLayoutSize of my overrided BoxLayout class didn't help.
I investigated further and subclassed JPanel to print a message when setSize or setBounds was called. When I vertically resized the help window, JPanel.setBounds was called to resize the JPanel. I was expecting that. However, when I horizontally resized the help window, the JPanel size wasn't updated... at least not in the way I expected it to be. When I increased the horizontal size past the maximum horizontal size so far, the JPanel's horizontal size was increased to match. However, when I decreased the horizontal size, the JPanels horizontal size was not decreased to match.
    So, here's what I found:
    1) JScrollPane vertical size increased: Scrolled component vertical size increases to match.
    2) JScrollPane vertical size decreased: Scrolled component vertical size decreases to match.
    3) JScrollPane horizontal size increased: Scrolled component horizontal size increases to match.
    4) JScrollPane horizontal size decreased: Scrolled component horizontal does not change.
So the scrolled component horizontal size gets increased, but never decreased. This is odd... perhaps it is a JScrollPane bug? I'll see if I can't figure out a way around it. Overriding the scroll pane's setBounds and setSize methods didn't work, perhaps I'll target the JViewport next.
Sorry I couldn't help right away, though. Lemme know if you figure it out.
