Hi..
Where do you see the minimum requirements for Google Sketch Up  ???
I see:  Mac OS X 10.4.1 or later. Google Earth 3.0.640 or higher. >  Google SketchUp (Mac) - Download
Apparently you need Google Earth to work with Google Sketch Up.

    Which operating system are you using?
    Some filters like Filter>Sketch>Stamp need to have two different colors for the Foreground and Background set in the toolbox.
    Press the D key to set the default toolbox color swatches to Black and White and then try the Stamp filter.
    If your using mac os x 10.9 or 10.10, then some of the filters under Filter>Sketch will crash pse 11
    They are Filter>Sketch>Comic, Graphic Novel and Pen and Ink
    Otherwise resetting the pse11 editor preferences might resolve the crashing.
    Go to Photoshop Elements Editor(Edit)>General, click on Reset Preferences on Next Launch and then restart the pse 11 editor

  • Question about placing Photoshop images in Illustrator

    Hi
    Someone asked me for advice because they are trying to place a Photoshop image in Illustrator.
    Is this a good idea?
    It's unknown whether they are trying to Livetrace the image, Or just leave it sittin' pretty, so they can sketch around it and have it visible as a "placed" image before they export it to InDesign.
    I don't think that they want to live trace it, i think they just want to put the image there so they can see it as they work.
    What are the options?
    Can these photoshop items in Ai become linked like they do in InDesign without any problems?
    From what i hear it is not a good idea to "place" Photoshop images in illustrator, without live tracing them, because everything in Ai needs to be vector anyway.
    thanks for any advice

    >havent you noticed that whenever you live trace and expand a color image, it becomes thousands (sometimes tens of thousands) of separate vectors and consequently becomes very hard to move and work with?
    Which is a very good reason not to do that.
    >How do you just place the image in illustrator as sort of a placeholder image or linked image (non embedded) and work with it quickly as part of an Ai sketch, without needing to vectorize everything upfront? (by that i mean live trace/ expand
    File> Place. Done.
    >I've never seen someone trying to use raster images in Ai like it was a normal everyday thing.
    You need to get out of the house more. It is done all the time.

  • Brush to Pencil

    I've sketched a lot of drawings using the paint brush tool and need my drawing to be done with the pencil tool. Can I change the stroke somehow without having to redraw all the sketches?
    Need your help, please!

    You are welcome, h.
    As far as I know there is no (way to tell any) difference between a path drawn with the Pencil Tool and the reduced appearance of the Artbrush Tool. You can look in the Appearance palette and in the Document Info palette, and compare with the unreduced Artbrush Tool.
    I hope you will report your findings.

  • Can i save the sketch on the ipad device instead of to the creative clound? do i need to be on the interet at all time in order to use adobe shapes cc or any other adobe mobile app?

    I am a new apple product user since I am thinking of purchase an ipad just using the adobe mobile apps products line.
    I was wondering, do I need to have internet connection at all time in order to use adobe shapes cc or any other adobe mobile apps?
    can I save the sketch on the device itself without having have to the creative cloud?
    thank in advance.

    My problem with saving the images instead of using the creative cloud was that the image looses the vector and becomes pixilated which is what you're trying to avoid by using the app in the first place. I am confused on how to get the app to sync to the cloud, because it's not working.

  • I want to switch to Adobe FormsCentral from Jotform, but need a sketch signature field. Any plans?

    Are there any plans for a sketch signature field as Jotform has?  Everything about FormsCentral is better, but this is a field that I need to have use of for customers.

    Hi,
      Currently FormsCentral does not support signature field as noted in your question.
    If you like, please vote or submit a request for this feature in the forum, FormsCentral main page.

  • Need opinions on how to get sketches in Illustrator to become vectors

    Have Illustrator CS6, Medium Baboo tablet. I can draw well but it seems almost impossible to get the quality of my sketch work to go to Illustrator in a way I am happy with. I do not like what I see from scanner to Imagetrace either. This is largely due to my inexperience in the process from sketch to vector to t-shirt. Can anyone give me some insight on how you approach this process from a pad of paper to Illustrator? Appreciate any help you can offer.

    Another approach is to draw, scan, use auto-trace as the basic start for vectors,; but simplify/fix/adjust to get to final. May be easier or more work depending on the sketch/details/dirty paper smudges/ scan quality/auto trace exactness/etc.
    Try it and see what works for you. I suggest you make the auto trace as simple as possible....easier to fix a few lines and add than to delete many or adjust many...unless you want a very complex vector result....which is atypical for illustrations.

  • Need help to develop Pythagoras theorem-

    Hi i need help to develop proofs 2,3,4

    These are applets can anyone help me with it or give me an idea of how to go about developing it -
    the site is the following
    http://www.uni-koeln.de/ew-fak/Mathe/Projekte/VisuPro/pythagoras/pythagoras.html
    then double click on the screen to make it start

    Pardon my ASCII art, but I've always liked the following, simple, geometric proof:
         a                   b
    ---------------------------------------+
    |       |                                |
    a|   I   |              II                |
    |       |                                |
    ---------------------------------------+
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    b|  IV   |              III               |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    |       |                                |
    ---------------------------------------+It almost goes without saying that I+II+III+IV == (a+b)^2, and II == IV == a*b,
    I == a*a and III == b*b, showing that (a+b)^2 == a^2+a*b+a*b+b^2.
    I hope the following sketch makes sense, stand back, ASCII art alert again:     a                   b
    ---------------------------------------+
    |               .             VI         |
    |     .                 .                |a
    | V                               .      |
    |                                        +
    |                                        |
    |   .                                    |
    b|                                     .  |
    |                                        |
    |                  IX                    |
    | .                                      |
    |                                    .   |b
    |                                        |
    +                                        |
    |      .                                 |
    a|               .                  . VII |
    |  VIII                   .              |
    ---------------------------------------+
                     a                    bThe total area equals (a+b)^2 again and equals the sum of the smaller areas:
    (a+b)^2 == V+VI+VII+VIII+IX. Let area IX be c^2 for whatever c may be.
    V+VII == VI+VIII == a*b, so a^2+b^2+2*ab= c^2+2*a*b; IOW a^2+b^2 == c^2
    Given this fundamental result, the others can easily be derived from this one,
    or did I answer a question you didn't ask?
    kind regards,
    Jos

  • My goals; what are my needs?

    Hello folks,
    I currently have a MacPro and in many ways I regret the decision. I am a grad student but also I composer/musician. I have Logic Pro and I mainly use it to sketch out ideas for new works. I only use it to create demos and never mastered CDs. I know it is overkill, but I realize that now.
    I am interested in some portability now as some of the people I work with live elsewhere and I want to bring my computer/interface/mics/etc to them and have them play on their particular instrument/vocal work for my compositions. I want to continue working with Logic Pro since that is what I'm used to now. What is the minimum laptop I can use to do some recording, location recording and some overdubbing? I use an Apogee Duet and I will never record more than two audio tracks at once.
    Can I get away with an older model iBook or something? What are the requirements that will make it pretty trouble free? I'm willing to use a simpler program (garageband?) to find something portable.
    I almost bought a Zoom or Edirol to fulfil this task, but I can't stand the small screens.
    Any advice will be appreciated...
    thanks

    Thank you all for your input. It was helpful.
    It is mainly for recording 1 or 2 simultaneous tracks of my collaborators improvisations, or my collaborators playing my compositional ideas. They would this on top of 1 to 4 other tracks.
    I don't believe any (or many) plug-ins will be used as the aim is to "hear" compositional ideas I have in my head or on paper to see if a certain idea has potential. My main goals is to put together sketches, tracks to create the workings of a new piece. I'm not looking at making finished recordings, as I always plan to do that at a professional studio with an engineer that has more experience than I do. All the assembly of tracks/sketches/ideas will take place at home on my MacPro. I just need something to record my other instrumentalists at my collaborators' homes--thus the portability needed.
    I used to use a Zoom H4 to record improvisational sessions of my small ensemble. But what I found was that the small screen is really inconvenient to use to overdub new tracks.
    Thank you jdredge for your experience with your Powerbook. This is input I'm looking for. Real world experience with LP7 and older (cheaper) portables. I have an Apogee Duet as my interface. In all, I don't think I would I would have more than 5 tracks, probably 3 acoustic and one or two VI. Even then, my collaborators will probably be recording on top of 3 or 4 other tracks at most.
    I've started looking at places that sell older portables. I've spent so much on this MacPro and other goodies that I can't afford the newest laptops (although it is so tempting to go into further debt).
    Thanks in advance for any further guidance.

  • NEW NICHE DEVICE NEEDED: a MINI sized moitor for  portbility!!

    The first time I saw the Mini, in my mind I envisioned an entire desktop ensemble comprised of Mini sized gadgets- smaller sized keyboards, little mice, cute little USB HD's and yes an itty bitty sized flat screen monitor like those digi picture frames that everyone is making! This is the biggest no brainer solution which so far has escaped the entire industry!
    The Mini,after all is no smaller and no more portable than the size of the largest periphrial device in the desktop system.The smallest monitor sold in any retail store is currently 17" diag. and what we need is half that size. Funny how everyone jumped on the Mac Mini fashion statement to make external drives and every other kind of USB periphrial device within the chassias size of the Mini which was smart niche marketing...except they neglected to exploit the ultimate ADVANTAGE the Mini could afford as being the smallest most power and capable desktop system. Perhaps Apple neglected to embellish this advantage in order to prevent the affordable Mini from hurting its laptop sales.Just a theory. But third party vendors have also ignored this obvious design advantage and have not given us any Mini sized keyboards and monitors.
    Now we see so called Mac Mini-designed keyboards that are smaller than those huge surfboard sized ergonomic shaped padded boards that serve well as a desktop bed pillow and arm rest but these new keyboards are really just the old skool no-frills boards that are smaller than the new styled surfboard sized ones.
    While I can carry my Mini +my 500Gb USB external drive +mouse +power adaptor inside a cute leather shaving kit bag, the modularity factor becomes a JOKE when I walk into a Starbucks or Public Library with a 22" Flat screen monitor under one arm and my little shaving bag in my hand!!I got yelled at by two fat ladies at the Library when after asking them if I can plug my Mini into their ac wall socket I went to my car and returned with my fullsized roller suitcase containing my shaving bag with Mini Plus my billboard sized flat screen monitor.

    Google is your friend.
    I got a bunch of hits on +portable monitors+, however I have used these folks for personal projects before: lilliput
    Folks started using these things in car installations of home computers, and a niche market for folks that want portable monitors was born.

    Your assumption is that folks who need portability prefer to use a fragile battery powered toy with a PDA style rinky **** keypad with tiny trackball gizmo and that assumption is dead wrong. Proof lies in the keyboard/mice/periphrial device aisle of any computer store. You see tons of USB devices for laptops intended solely to provide desktop system features/capability that the laptop doesn't provide. An lets not forget to add the cost of repairing these fragile thin puters..replacing adaptor cords and battery packs etc . Soon you've got more $ tied up ina laptop than you ever intended.
    Personally I've yet to meet ANY laptop user who LOVES the tricky pain in the a**
    trackball navigation mechanism and compact PDA-like keypad. Everyone I know relies upon a USB mouse and most folks are plugging fullsize keybords into their slim fragile overpriced laptops because pecking on the rinky **** keypad toy greatly increases the risk of damaging or dropping the computer. ( They are merely trying to minimize the need to touch the machine as they work which is smart thinking ..its the desktop systems design strategy as well.
    The machine itself need not be touched and so we use wireless or USB periphrial devices . The Mini therefore is classified as a desktop but by definition "desktop system "does not preclude the need nor capability for modular portability and besides the MAC MINI IS BY FAR MORE DURABLE AND IMPACT RESISTANT THAN ANY LAPTOP so there goes your premis out the window.
    I'll bet you one dozen ac powered laptop chiller pads, two sticks of DDR RAM and five laptop replacement power adaptors/battery chargers ('cause you laptop users seem to go through these pricey adaptors/cords faster than alkaline
    batteries in a boombox at a beach bikini contest!) that if you displayed a Mac Mini with a small 10"screen sitting beside it and full size keyboard/mouse priced for $850 in the Apple store laptop sales would puke.
    There's no debate that when you need thin notebook sized
    modularity and battery pwr the laptop is the only solution.
    I've not been hampered by the lack of battery powerpack just the lack of
    a small monitor.

  • How can I group different projects in one? How can I move a sketch from one project to another?

    It seems that in Adobe Draw for iPad you can only organize your files inside a project, but i need to organize all the sketches imported from Ideas that comes in Adobe draw each one as a project. I need to group some sketches in project and I don't damn know how to.

    Unfortunately, there is currently no way to move sketches between projects. You can only reorder sketches within the same project.
    In the next release of Draw, you will be able to manually import individual .idea files from your CC account, in addition to the one-time fetch all functionality in place today. When you manually import multiple files, those files will all be imported into one new project. This could be used as a way to organize your .idea files into projects.
    We are also hoping to add the ability to move sketches between projects in a future release.
    Hope that helps,

    I have an iPad 2 and want to be able to design my own templates for invitations, labels, and such. What do I need to do to be able to do this? Apps??

    Take a look at these three sites and you might find something in one that will work for you.

    I downloaded iDraw - which is an Adobe Illustrator wannabe for the iPad. You can export to PDF and other formats using iDraw. iDraw also supports file sharing. File Sharing is the iPad/iTunes way to send files back and forth from the iPad to your computer and back again.
    This site will tell you about iDraw.
    http://www.indeeo.com/idraw/
    This is a link to iOS File Sharing which you will find useful as well.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4094
    There are third party apps in the app store that will allow you to use virtually any printer even if you don't have one of the HP AirPrint compatible printers.
    You can even use an app like Pages to create your templates. You can insert art and photos into Pages and it supports file sharing as well. Pages is a Word Processing app and I would be inclined to not use it for your purposes but it will work for some basic designs however it's certainly not ideal for creating artwork.

  • Could someone please sketch out this simple script for me?

    Could someone please sketch out a simple java script for me. I will have a document with one background
    layer and a layer set (group) called "Analyze" that consists of 63 adjustment layers. The layer names in that "Analyze" group(folder) will be
    "01" ...through "63" with 01 on the bottom and 63 at the top. Initially, all of the adjustment layers will be invisible and  the
    group will be closed (not expanded). I need a simple  script that will check for the first invisible layer in that group
    and make it visible without selecting that layer nor expanding the group. The script has to check
    for the first invisible layer every time it runs because other actions may have turned off a layer in the set.
    The point of this is so I can hotkey flipping on the layers one at a time without expanding the set or
    changing focus off the  background. It seems it should be a simple loop, but I just can't wrap  my head
    around all the objects (e.g. Layer as opposed to Layers  and  Artlayer as opposed to Artlayers)
    and the constants constants.
    for (i = 63; i>0; i--){                 /* I have found layer indexes 0 are the topmost layer */
      if( layerset[i] == INVISIBLE){
               layerset[i] = VISIBLE;
                  break;
    Could someone please write me a simple script that would do this?
    Edit I found this and its very close to what I need:
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    for(var i = 0 ; i < doc.layers.length;i++){
      doc.layers[i].visible = (i % 2 == 0);
    From here : Function to show/hide layer with Photoshop script (JSX) - Stack Overflow
    In my case I would rewrite it to this
    for(var i = 62; i >=0; i--){
         if(  !doc.layers[i].visible){
              doc.layers[i].visible =TRUE;
              break;
    My problem is I just need  to traverse the layers in my layerset "Analyze"
    How do  I reference just those? Is there a doc.layersets["Analyze"].layers[i].visible = TRUE?
    Message was edited by: Shawn Laughlin To add more information

    Well this works:
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var analyze = doc.layerSets.getByName("Analyze").layers
    for(var i = 62 ; i >= 0; i --){
        if (!analyze[i].visible){
            analyze[i].visible =1;
            break;
    Hard to believe TRUE is not a constant in java.

    Yep, I understand...
    This is the final news I needed to get to complete my answer... I confronted myself the italian store and the US one and in the US one I didn't find this product...
    As for the NI software, was so good that I just bought back my good "old" iMac G5 and will exchange it with this my Intel Mac. The G5 2 Ghz was good, performing as this new Intel (at times I even got the impression was more performing, but I believe is just an impression) and surely didn't have so many 3rd parties problems.
    Meanwhile I filled every forum of NI and USB with my questions about the compatibility... and maybe I will be back to an Intel Mac when all would be OK, I'm not in a hurry!
    By the way I had a listen to your work: GREAT!
    You may hear a sketch version of something we did work on with the NI piano and choir sounds, while the alto sax is played live and the other instruments are from Apple or real keys (yes, we mix a lot of things):
    http://www.garageband.com/song?
    while here is a track where we did use both the Orchestral sounds of Garageband (and some of it's loops, mixed with some good old programming) together with some NI sound:
    http://www.garageband.com/song?
    We do not often use orchestra if not as here and there (other than in some work as this last one, but is not so frequent). Hope you may like our little works!
