Region templates not refreshed until after restart
Hi guys,
Another problem we are facing is when updating region templates. On a local workstation with JDev and a local SSXA connected to a remote UCM, changes to the region template's underlying JSP are taken into account on every page load. However, when using the remote SSXA connected to the same remote UCM, changes to the region template are not taken into account until the SSXA server is restarted.
Surely there must be some caching parameter somewhere? How can we modify this behaviour?
Thanks again!Hi ,
Download 13502977 from MyOracleSupport and upgrade the UCM server .
After that install the JDev plugins from the upgraded server by navigating to :
/Oracle_ECM1/ucm/Distribution/RIDC/jdev
/Oracle_ECM1/ucm/Distribution/SiteStudioExternalApplications/jdev
After this test to see if the issue still persists .
Reason for asking this is I am not able to see any issues with SSXA region templates .
Hope it helps .
Thanks

Region Template in ContentPresenter - JDeveloper
Hello together,
is it possible to use a SiteStudio Region Template in the Content Presenter, when I add the Content Presenter in JDeveloper to a jspx page.
Here is a screen shot from the properties:
http://s14.directupload.net/images/140122/fxmb3mog.jpg
The senario:
I use a query to select a Contributor Data File from the Content Server and now I want to select a suitable template from the Content Server as well.
What do I have to do? Is this senario actually possible?
Thanks for your answers.
LukasHi.
In official documentation Creating Content Presenter Display Templates - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.8.0) you'll find following:
Oracle recommends that you use Content Presenter ADF templates to integrate Site Studio and WebCenter Portal instead of Site Studio region templates. The recommended flow is:
Develop region definitions in Site Studio
Develop ADF templates referencing region definitions using JDeveloper
Publish the templates and import them into Portal Server
Use Content Presenter to render the content and to enable users to contribute content
Why recommends this way?.
Performance and caching.
Site Studio will be deprecated in the future.
Integrates perfectly with ADF / Portal in terms of Framework, access and allows you to pass parameters / variables.
When to use Region Template?.
When you have do internal or use complex functions of UCM.
As backward compatibility with old Region Templates built in Site Studio.
I hope it helps.

Service architecture vs regional templates
I would really appreciate any input on the following scenario:
You are planning to implement a mySAP component, let's say Finance, to two different regions where different regulations and legislations apply. In my mind, this could be done in two ways; with or without ESA.
-Without ESA you would create one overarching template with two regional templates.
-With ESA you would create generic services for the common features, and customized services where regional policies influence.
Is this a valid perception?
If so, what are the pros/cons?
Thanks in advance!
BRs/AnneHi,
Are you plainnig to use XI for ESA or directly you will expose the Business funcationality as service.
Please let me know. -
Classic Report with Hide and Show Region Template does not show report
Hello,
I created a "No Template" region on a page with a Classic Report. When I change it to a "Hide and Show" region template, the report does not show up when I click to Show the region...is there an additional step i'm missing to make the report show up. Its a very simple query.
Thanks in advance,

Issue with using SSXA region templates with Content Presenter.
I am using Content Presenter taskflow in Webcenter Portal. When i try to use the SSXA region template with content presenter, it doesnot render the html markup. But if i use normal UCM region templates(hscp), its rendering the html markup properly.
Http Server acts as a proxy for both webcenter and ucm. Enabled SiteStudio, SiteStudioforExternalApplications, Webcenter Configure and other required features in Webcenter. Can any one tell me, if i missed any step?
All i am getting the output as
${data.body}

<taskFlow id="doclibcontentpresenter1"
taskFlowId="/oracle/webcenter/doclib/view/jsf/taskflows/presenter/contentPresenter.xml#doclib-content-presenter"

xmlns:wcm="http://www.oracle.com/jsp/wcm">
<wcm:dataFile var="data"/>
${data.body}
</jsp:root>
This uses one region definition containing WYSIWYG element. I am able to edit and could type the html markup or data in WYSIWYG editor at contribution mode, but when i click save and close, all i am getting output as ${data.body}
I manually verified the data file in UCM, and i could see the information stored (the data entered in contribution mode)Prasath,
I'm not 100% sure but i believe that WebCenter does not support everything from the WCM tags. You can read the topic on SSXA on the WebCenter EMG:
https://groups.google.com/group/webcenter-emg/browse_thread/thread/2ef9cca0252a0ae3
Just a quote:
"With the 11.1.1.4 release, WebCenter is very much targeted at the type of sites that would have previously been done using the WCM components (eg. Extranet, Internet sites). By surfacing the site studio region templates (and allowing in place editing of the documents) many of the use cases can be met. The question now is not whether,or not, the native templating + region support is sufficient for your needs (WebCenter does not support all the WCM artefacts as yet). "

What you mean by "how can i call modal region with parameter" ? Parameters for what ?
Can you provide some example to apex.oracle.com what you have done now?

Theme 25 Modal Region - not displaying correctly in IE8
I have an application I have developed, which makes use of the modal regions which display a small form in a modal region when the user clicks a button.
I am having problems with how it is displayed in IE8. I have many users in my organisation who still use IE8 so I need to find a fix.
I have installed one of the 'packaged applications' on apex.oracle.com and converted the theme from 101 to Theme 25 to demonstrate the issue (ignore the fact that the buttons have had a different template to the "+" and ">").
http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=65955:14
Login as: matt/matt
Click on any of the "Add xx" buttons, e.g. "Add Update".
You will see that the colour of the region is black and you can't see the modal box. This makes the text very hard to read, and not really useable.
I have been trying to figure out which css style controls the background (to potentially put a fix in the HTML header of my page) but I cannot figure out how to fix it.
Any guidance would be appreciated!
Amanda.Hi Amanda,
This may be a bug in Theme 25 for IE8, and I will investigate this issue further. However, for now, it seems like there are two issues. First, being that the background of the page becomes completely black wh en the modal is loaded when it should really be somewhat transparent. To fix this, you can add the following CSS:
div#modalBackground {
-ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=40)";
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=40);
The second issue is that the modal appears to be behind the background, so you are unable to see it. Try adding the following styles and see if it can fix the issue:
section.uModalRegion {
z-index: 1000;
Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce the second issue on my VM (IE9 running in IE8 mode).

IF statement for navigation in a Region Template
I have a region template where I display links to nodes in the current level.
Example:
level 0 nodes: About Us, Employees, Contact Us, Investors
level 1 nodes of About Us: Fun Stuff, Photos, History
level 2 nodes of History: 1910, 1920,1930
So if I was in the section/level About Us>History my region template would display links to 1910,1920,1930. I know there is a fragment that does this for me but what I need is a little more custom.
What I want to do is is write an if statement in the region template that says something like:
If (currentlevel has children)
display childrenlevelNodes
else
display parentlevelNodes
endif
Any ideas? I am a beginner when it comes to Idoc.Actually I got it working. Someone before me was using some code but it wasn't working exactly how I wanted. So I incorporated their code back in after your help with the childNodeId thing and now it works!!
<!--$childLevel = level-->
<!--$curLevel = level-->
<!--$childNodeId = ssGetRelativeNodeId(siteId, nodeId, "child")-->
<!--$parentNodeId = ssGetRelativeNodeId(siteId, nodeId, "parent")-->
<!--$originalNodeId = nodeId, drewOne = "", originalNodeParentId = ssGetRelativeNodeId(siteId, nodeId, "parent") -->
<ul>
<li>
<!--$if (childNodeId)-->
<!--$childLevel = level + 1-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$loop SiteStudioNavNodes-->
<!--$if (level eq childLevel) and ((originalNodeId eq parentNodeId) or (originalNodeParentId eq parentNodeId))-->
<!--$hideIt = ""-->
<!--$hideFrom = ssGetNodeProperty(SiteStudioNavNodes.nodeId, "hideFromRegion")-->
<!--$showOnlyIn = ssGetNodeProperty(SiteStudioNavNodes.nodeId, "showOnlyInRegion")-->
<!--$if showOnlyIn-->
<!--$if showOnlyIn like ("*" join region join "*")-->
<!--$else-->
<!--$hideIt = 1-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$if hideFrom and (hideFrom like ("*" join region join "*"))-->
<!--$hideIt = 1-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$if not hideIt-->
<!--$if drewOne-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$label-->
<!--$drewOne = 1-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$endif-->
<!--$endloop-->
</li>

Hide / Show region template - how to make it stay visible after NEXT& PREV?
Hello,
I am using the Hide / Show region template (by the way great idea to create this template ;)
By default the region is hidden. If i want to see the region content (it is a report) I click on that icon and it becomes visible. For my report I use the pagination "ROW Ranges X to Y of Z (with pagination)".
The issue is that if I click NEXT of Previous, the region is closing (hidding).. and in order to see the next / previous page of my report I have to re-open it..
Is there any known workaround for this?
Thank you in advance
AncaI would start at Re: Toggle all hide show regions on a page open/closed
It references the using javascript to manipulate your hide/show regions. It should get you started in the right direction. It is about the most straight-forward example I have seen for what you are trying to do<br><br>
You could trigger the javascript after your page is rendered by calling it from the page footer and reference the values of page items to determine if you are supposed to hide the region(s).<br>
Create a page item called P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 and set it's value to Y or N depending on whether the #REQUEST# has a string in it that is part of report pagination. If you hover over a "next page" button in a report, check out the resulting URL that pops up in your browser.....it looks like ..../f?p=900:210:8352027355600111016:pg_R_241403738845262873:NO&pg_min_row=31&pg_max_rows=30&pg_rows_fetched=30
<br>
You could do an instr(:REQUEST,'pg_R_') > 0 then set P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 = 'Y' else P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 = 'N'. Your javascript called at the footer of the page could set the display of the region to on or off depending on the result of P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 -
How to create custom report plugin using child region report metadata
Hi,
I want to ask for help on how to create custom report plugin using child region report metadata. My idea is to create a child region, a classic report and set the condition to never.
Then i will query the child report metadata from apex view and use it to create a custom report like using jquery jq-grid. Any idea how i can create a process that will use the child report
metadata? I dont know how i can create a process just like how apex work, how apex render report, coz i want it to be control using the standard apex report attribute. This plugin will
render according to the child report attribute.
Is there anybody here had ever done this?Hi Nicolette,
Thanks for the reply. I know where to find the metadata, just asking for idea on how the rendering process will be.
Start from determining column heading, column order until finish rendering the report. The same way how apex
render the classic report.
Previously this imy my rendering process:
FUNCTION GETCOLUMN(P_REGION IN APEX_PLUGIN.T_REGION,
P_PLUGIN IN APEX_PLUGIN.T_PLUGIN,
P_VALUE IN VARCHAR2) RETURN SYS.DBMS_SQL.DESC_TAB2 IS
VSQLHANDLER APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.T_SQL_HANDLER;
VCOLCOUNT NUMBER;
VCOLNAMES VARCHAR2(2000);
VAJAXIDENTIFIER VARCHAR2(100);
VPAGESIZE TYPEATTR := P_REGION.ATTRIBUTE_04;
VJSCODE VARCHAR2(32767);
BEGIN
VSQLHANDLER := APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.GET_SQL_HANDLER(P_SQL_STATEMENT => 'select * from s_emp',
P_MIN_COLUMNS => 1,
P_MAX_COLUMNS => 999,
P_COMPONENT_NAME => P_REGION.ID);
VCOLCOUNT := VSQLHANDLER.COLUMN_LIST.COUNT();
FOR I IN 1 .. VCOLCOUNT LOOP
VCOLNAMES := VCOLNAMES || '{name: "' ||
UPPER(VSQLHANDLER.COLUMN_LIST(I).COL_NAME) || '",';
END LOOP;
APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.FREE_SQL_HANDLER(VSQLHANDLER);
RETURN VSQLHANDLER.COLUMN_LIST;
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
APEX_PLUGIN_UTIL.FREE_SQL_HANDLER(VSQLHANDLER);
RAISE;
END GETCOLUMN;
So this is how i get the header for my report plugin. The same method is use to get the value / data for each column. This process is work. So now
i want to extend my plugin so that i will use all attributes from the child report to render my plugin. So the column header, column order, all will depend
on the child report. And the column display condition is set, it will also check the condition before render the column. Sounds like i want to reinvent
the normal apex rendering process but this is what i want to achieve.
I need help to find the correct logic for my render process. Don't want too much for starting, just want to render the plugin correctly, same with child report,
same columns alias, column ordering and column conditional display.
Thanks,

We are in the process of creating a template for our site. We
are working on the editable regions. What we are finding is if we
want to add a bulleted list of items (let's say links) we can't do
it without the list header also becoming bulleted. For instance
let's say we have the following:
Medical Resource Links
Cardiology
GI
Respiratory
We would want Medical Resource Links to be bold and stay to
the left. The other three items we would want to have bullets.
When we try this in an editable region all four items move
over and only the first gets the bullet. Do we need an additional
editable region for the title? Is this controlled via a CSS? Any
help you can give would be greatly appreciated. We are beginners
with this. Thanks.This has nothing to do with editable regions. It's all about
the HTML on
the page.
Show us the HTML for your list, and I'll tell you why it's
happening the way
you describe.

Best approach -Tabs based ADF Tree left side navigation with Dynamic Regions with out UI Shell
Hi,
Somebody can help for the best approach to implement the following requirement.
Req: When the user select the ADF Tree left side navigation menu, each menu will open as multiple tabs(Dynamic Tabs) in right side content area with out UI Shell Template.
I completed the
Step-1: From the Model project, I can able to render ADF Tree in the using view and view links. I can get the adf tree which is having 3 menu items. Each menu item having 2 sub menu's.
I took each menu item as one(1) taskflow, each taskflow will have two(2) fragments.
Total I have 3 task flows as Menu Items and 6 fragments for sub menu's.
Step-2: My question is How do I implement Tab based the ADF tree navigation (left side area to dynamic regions in content area) through dynamic regions? Please provide the steps in view layers.Than ks for your response.
This is working fine for ADF Tree navigation with dynamic regions if the taskflow having only one fragment. if the taskflow having more than one fragments, this will not work. The following conditions are always satisfies one page fragment of either "employees" or "departments" task flow. If the "employees" task flow have 2 page fragments, it's not work even you pass parameters through routers.
public TaskFlowId getDynamicTaskFlowId() {
if (currentTaskFlowID == null ||
currentTaskFlowID.equalsIgnoreCase(“employees”)) {
return TaskFlowId.parse(employeetaskFlowId);
if (currentTaskFlowID != null &&
currentTaskFlowID.equalsIgnoreCase(“departments”)) {
return TaskFlowId.parse(departmetaskFlowId);
return TaskFlowId.parse(employeetaskFlowId);
My question is "Same use case with Dynamic Tabs" when the user click on any adf tree node.
