Skin Editor in Captivate 7

Its generally expected that, when you save your project/simulation with a particular Skin Editor, that should be its default skin for anyone who opens it.
But I am having instances that, in one of my team mates machine, it goes back to the deault theme, though the same playbar is installed in that machine.
I just wnat to know, if this a machine problem or Captivate 7 issue?? Because we never experienced this in Captivate 6.
Any help will be appriciated!!!
Thanks,
Soumya

Captiv8r and Lilybiri, Thank you so much for your continued help.
I just ran through the following and still had no luck. Please advise.
- I have unchecked "reporting" because we do not need that information compiled - didn't help.
- I have also hidden the report slide and moved
-  I have 2 other projects that are very similar, and they do not have different quiz properties,
Do you think this has to do with the skin editor/table of contents?
  Slide 46 and Slide 47 are not navigable - information listed below.

  • Playbar options are greyed out on skin editor Captivate 6

    Hi Everyone,
    I am building modules and all of a sudden when I went to publish the module the playbar is gone, I went to the skin editor and now the playbar options are completely greyed out and nothing I do will allow me to turn them back on....PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hello and welcome to the forum,
    Are you new to Captivate? Did you ever create an advanced action? I have several tutorials on my blog, and some articles as well:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/858/cpsid_85847.html has a video tutorial that shows how to create a conditional advanced action. Even though it is created for CP5, nothing has changed in CP6 (except perhaps the names of some system variables)
    http://blog.lilybiri.com/system-variables-in-captivate-6
    You do not need 3 variables at all, which was the reason why I asked my 'new' question. Are you using real pretest question slides or normal question slides or custom question slides?
    If you use Pretest question slides, the score will be stored in cpQuizInfoPretestPointsscored and the percentage in  cpQuizInfoPretestScorePercentage
    If you use normal question slides, the score will be stored in cpQuizInfoPointsscored and the percentage in  cpInfoPercentage
    If you use custom question slides, you'll have user variables in which you calculate both score and percentage
    If the numbers you are mentioning are percentages you'll create one conditional action with 3 decisions (here example for normal question slides):
    First decision: IF cpInfoPercentage is greater or equal to 70
                                 Jump to slide CHP3_1
    Second decision:  IF cpInfoPercentage is less than 70   AND
                                   cpInfoPercentage is greater or equal to 50
                                       Jump to slide CP2_1
    Third decision: IF cpInfoPercentage is less than 50
                               Jump to slide CHP1_1
    The slide labels CHPx_1 are for the first slides of each chapter.

  • Captivate 5.5 skin editor won't open

    I'm working in Captivate 5.5, and the Skin Editor won't open, either from the Project menu or with Shift+F11. Any idea what's causing that? Is there another way to get at the Skin Editor, such as through the Publish dialog box? I couldn't find another way.
    -Stuart

    Hi Stuart
    At any point have you had a second monitor attached? If so, it's quite possible that the dialog is indeed opening, but was last opened on the second monitor. In that case you need to either make your resolution large enough so that you see the dialog sitting in the odd location or re-connect the second monitor so you may then view the dialog and drag it back to the visible area of the screen.

    When I open Project > Skin Editor > Setting to adjust the font, my Captivate freezes completely.  My only option is to  ctrl+alt+delete to end the session and restart. • Oracle ADF skin editor tool

    Hi,
    Im using Oracle Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.
    This https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/suggested_skin_editor_workflow blog says that for using Skin editor in 11.1.1.4 i need to download Standlone Skin editor. Is this tool a licensed software, because in the download section of the ADF, it says that it is "OTN Developer License Agreement." what this means, can we use this tool for free in a organisation.

    Hi,
    you can download the editor here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html
    about the license, I don´t know(wait experts responses) but the editor is for custom adf applications and then you need a ADF license
    For free organisation you should see ADF Essentials :http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/overview/adfessentials-1719844.html

  • Component not rendering in Stand Alone Skin editor

    I downloaded the stand alone skin editor and I wanted to play around with it.
    But I notice that my controls are not rendering.
    Kindly see sample image that I am getting. Image
    Not sure why, but I cant seem to see my changes even If I change it in my property inspector.
    Any hints?

    Hi,
    did you check the CSS source of the file to see if invalid styles are added. The visual editor is broken in the image, so there must be something causing it. Ifthe CSS was empty, would the editor render properly ?

  • How do I get all attributes set in Skin Editor to show up in generated output?

    Many of the modifications I have made in Skin Editor show on the project. The buttons in the Main Toolbar, however, appear to be set by the items I checked in WebHelp Settings, not the buttons I selected in the Skin Navigation section.
    Also, breadcrumbs in topicis don't show up unless I select them in WebHelp Settings. However, the style is goverened by the Hyperlink style I set in Styles for Formatting.
    Would appreciate any advice.

    The skin editor is where you create all the buttons you may want across all the outputs you create. Some users will create variants of the webhelp.
    The webhelp settings are where you select the buttons you want in a particular layout.
    What you are seeing is the correct behaviour.
    How would breadcrumbs show up unless you either set them in a master page or in the webhelp settings? In the webhelp settings you can define their appearance.

  • UI rendering issue in Skin editor (11.1.2) on Mac

    Hi,
    I just tried to run the stand alone skin editor (11.1.2) on Mac OS X and noticed some UI rendering issue - All the icon and menu are hidden unless I move the mouse cursor over them. (sometimes they don't even show up if I do so) And every time when I launch the program, I see lots of null pointer exception from "com.apple.laf.AquaMenuPainter.paintMenuBarBackground(AquaMenuPainter.java:140)"
    It looks like a platform specific issue, since the Oracle claims Mac is also certified. Is there any work around for that?
    Mac OS X: 10.6.7
    JVM: 1.6.0_24
    JDev: 11.1.1.5 (may be not relevant here)
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hi Steven,
    I just downloaded standalone SkinEditor 11.1.2.1 and had the same problem as you.
    I managed to get round it thankfully.
    As you mentioned, the menu items become visible sometimes when moving the mouse over them. I managed to find the Preferences menu item and opened it. In the Environment section I changed the Look and Feel from Oracle to Mac OS X. When I restarted the editor came up with no errors.
    I don't think the Mac OS X look and feel is as nice though so I did some more digging.
    I found a file called jdev-Darwin.conf in jdev/bin that contains Mac specific configuration for JDeveloper. In here I noticed the following line:
    AddVMOption    -Dapple.laf.useScreenMenuBar=trueAs the error we were getting was to do with menus I copied the line into skineditor.conf and hey presto it works for the Oracle look and feel. The app menus are on the Apple menu bar rather than the Java app window but I can live with that.
    Cheers,
    Kevin

  • Working with WebCenter Portal & ADF Skin Editor Together

    Hi all.
    I want to ask to webcenter community developers about the best practice to work with ADF Skin Editor for WebCenter Apps.
    I usually deployed my ADF Skin JAR Libraries as Shared Libs and consumed them from pure ADF Applications without problems.
    However, in WebCenter Portal Framework Applications resources are readed at MDS Path: /oracle/webcenter/portalapp/skins/... (like portal-skin.css) or at the shared lib called oracle.webcenter.skin
    My objetive is to provide more Skin's to WebCenter Portal Application from ADF JAR Librarys created by ADF Skin Editor and be selectable (like /oracle/webcenter/portalapp/skins/... resources) in Runtime in Administration page.
    How can i achieve it easly? (Please don't provide off doc, i read it).
    Have i to override SkinPhaseListener of WebCenter to read from another locations?.
    Thanks.

    Hi.
    Finally for WebCenter Portal Applications we are using ADF Skin Editor as support to skin ADF Components.
    When we've got our skin defined in ADF Skin Editor then copy to CSS file under MDS folder (/oracle/webcenter/portalapp...) and create a Portal Resource of it.
    If you want to deploy your ADF Skins as Shared Libs or included directly to WebCenter Portal App as ADF JAR Library then you'll see that they don't appear at Runtime to be selectable in admin page.
    If you want these skins be selectable at runtime you have to register them in generic-resources.xml manually.
    PD: Setting trinidad skins at "FINEST" level debug you can see what trinidad-skins is WebCenter loading.
    I hope this help you.
    PD: Your problem is little different because you are in WebCenter Spaces.
    Regards.

  • Stand Alone Skin Editor

    Here is the scenario. I am strictly a front-end developer using HTML, CSS, Javascript etc. I have been brought onboard to work on a project that uses the Oracle Fusion Middleware ADF Framework. I am a total noob with this stuff!!
    We are currently working a project using jDevleoper 11.1.1.4 (We cannot use a different/updated version - we are currently stuck with this version, and no I do not know why)
    I am going to be responsible for ALL of the front-end look and feel. I thought, ok no biggie, I just work my CSS magic and that will create everything as needed... Boy was I absolutely wrong! So I checked the ADF Skin Editor (have to use the stand alone version due to project being worked on within 11.1.1.4). I am having an extremely hard time find tutorials just using the standalone version! Every tutorial or demo is using the integrated Skin Editor within jDeveloper 11.1.2.
    Does anyone know of any good beginner tutorials for using the standalone Skin Editor? I am really struggling with this since I don't even know if I can actually use the editor to create the .css and then how to get into the jDeveloper 11.1.1.4 project!?
    Again, I am totally new to this and back-end environment. What may seem like basic ideas/thoughts/language to you, is actually like me trying to read a foreign language that I have no understanding of. So think of me like ultimate dummy here! :)
    I appreciate any feedback, suggestions on tutorials/demos/books and thoughts that anyone can provide for me to learn this.
    Thank you and have a great day!
    Michael

    Hi,
    just few inputs from me, just hoping it would be helpful, the easiest thing you can do are :
    1) download jdev 11.1.2 version, there you can select new skin file, drag and drop component and play around, and then go to source, you will see code you made in design. see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16162_01/user.1112/e17456/adfsg_selectors.htm for more details.
    2) use http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/skinningKeys/menu.jspx , and play around and and click print content to see the generated code.
    You can copy generated code and use in your jdev 11.1.1.4 version or wtever version :)
    The main idea here is, you have to know the skin selector for each component.
    for example for af:menu component you css selector would be
    af|menu {
    and again, for menu bar item selector is :
    af|menu::bar-item{
    for hover :
    af|menu::bar-item:highlighted{
    background-color: #959595 !important;
    Just to give me head up,
    for af:commandButton => af|commandButton{ }
    for af:breadcrumb => af|breadcrumb{}
    and so forth
    and each of these has psedo selector such as :selected , :highlighted ::menu-item-text but each component will have different different psedo selector ...
    eg :
    af|commandMenuItem::bar-item:depressed
    af|commandMenuItem::bar-item:highlighted
    af|commandMenuItem:highlighted::menu-item-open-indicator
    af|menuBar::overflow-indicator
    af|breadCrumbs::step:selected
    af|breadCrumbs::step
    go through this link for all different selector and psedo selectors
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B25221_05/web.1013/e18745/skin-selectors.html

  • Question on the new Skin Editor

    Dear All,
    I have a question regarding the Skin Editor that comes with the new JDev version. I was able to see a demo of the skin editor wherein you could
    change the background color etc of all components.
    My question is, is there a feature in it that can turn off those rounded corners in some of the components?
    My clients doesnt want rounded corners on accordions and tabs and they prefer it straight edges.
    Does anybody have an idea on this?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    yes. The rounded corners are images that you can change through skinning. Have a look at the skinning documentation
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/apirefs.1111/e15862/toc.htm
    and look for af|panelTabbed

  • Remote Page entry in Skin editor navigation

    Within my RoboHelp X5 project, there is a "Remote Page" Skin
    entry ( below the topics) to Yahoo. When I click on the Navigation
    Page of the skin editor, there is no entry in the Remote URL field,
    so I don't know how this link became part of my project. Please
    help; I need to remove it asap.

    I think this is just an example in the skin editor, and not
    part of your actual project at all. You can generate your project
    and look at the actual output to make sure.
