I just got my Zen Vision: M back 30 minutes ago from RMA repairs, as it had a problem with the screen not turning on and the blue LED light remaining constantly on. I am happy to have it back, but there is a minor problem I have with my player that I didn't have before: my forward skip button feels like it is already pushed down. My backward skip button works and feels fine, but while the forward skip button does work, it is very aesthetically displeasing, and I can't sense whether I am skipping or not without looking at the screen. Anybody have similar experience or a solution to the problem?

Here's how top get a slideshow that will let the viewer manually control the forward and backward movement of the slides with the forward and back buttons on the DVD remote.
1 - put the images you want to use in an iPhoto album.
2 - launch iDVD, select a theme and add a slideshow using the "+" button at the bottom:
3 - click on the Media button at the lower right hand corner of the window and then click on the Photos button.
4 - locate the iPhoto album containing your photos and drag it into the left hand pane:
5 - select Side Duration to Manual.
In order to get the maximum manual control of the slides you cannot have add any music to the slideshow. If you do add music the slideshow will continue you advance unless you pause the slideshow and/or use the advance/back buttons and then pause.
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

Preloader with skip button

I have a preloader working fine but having problems integrating a "skip" button (so users can skip opening animation)
Each of the code blocks ("//skip it" and "//Preloader" work ok without each other but when I combine them I get;
"Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at xyz.fla::MainTimeline/updatePreloader()"
I think when the skip buttin is pressed the prelodader code continues to be active???
I guess IF skip button is pressed I need to gotoAndPlay (149) and also stop the preloader code but I cannot successfully combine the 2 code blocks

I have disabled the next/skip button in quizes and don't remember how I did it.

Not sure what you mean. The master question slide looks normal and the project question slide does as well. When I launch the project the Next/skip button is grayed out and I cannot click on it. In the properties it looks the same as the other buttons.

Skip button symbol pointing the wrong direction. iTunes 11.1.3.8

The symbol of the skip button that appear when you keep the mouse over the itunes icon while it's running on windows seven is pointing the wrong direction. It's just with me?

Quiz Skip Button Jump to Another Slide that is not Next slide.

Is it possible to make the Quiz Skip button jump to another slide besides the next slide? I'm using Captivate 7.

Branch aware is a totally different thing: it makes the quizzing variables dynamically adapting to the questions that are taken by the trainee.
You are talking about the Skip button, which is puzzling because that button label was changed to Next since version 6. And Branch aware only appeared in 6. Which version are you using? You are talking about shapes so it must be 6 or later.

You are talking about a 'custom Skip button'? Can you explain, and also what you mean by the rollover shape? If you have a custom button it should be visible on the timeline of the slide, contrary to the default objects on question slides that are embedded and have no separate timeline. Or was the question master slide edited to add a rollover shape to the default Next button?

Little problem, the skip button is facing the wrong way!

as you can see, on the quick access thing in windows 7, the skip button is facing the wrong way. an unusual problem, doesn't affect the funtion of the button. dont know if anyone else is having this problem, might just require a new install.
let me know if this is just me! or any suggestions?

Workflow skip button

Hi,
I have a question about the workflow complete action. When a user tries to complete a task from his/her inbox, it opens up Complete Work Item dialog. There are three buttons on this dialog, what is the purpose of the "Skip" button? What happens when user clicks this button? It is kind of confusing to our users and we were wondering if we can hide this button some how.
How can i hide this button ?

Scott is correct on the use of Skip button. You cannot hide this button but instead overlay the js files and remove this button which contain the code for this (in case you do not need this button). The only drawback of
removing this button would be when you select multiple work items and click on complete button, you won't be able to skip any workitem anymore and you would have to action on each one of them to go further.
The js files which contain the code are located at:
a) /libs/cq/workflow/extensions/inbox/tbar/complete.js
b) /libs/cq/workflow/extensions/inbox/tbar/back.js
c) /libs/cq/workflow/extensions/inbox/tbar/delegate.js

Skip button not working as anticipated

I have a requirement to allow a user to skip a question in a quiz and come back to it at the end of the quiz (before submitting the
entire quiz). However, I cannot seem to get this to work properly.
I am uploading my quiz to a training website that we have created internally, and when I click the Skip button, it never puts the question at the end of the queue. Instead, it submits the test and I get a message that says "You skipped a question. You must retake the test."
This is really crucial and I cannot use Captivate for quizzing if I can't figure out a way to let a user skip a question, have it put it at the end to come back to and then answer it within that same test attempt.
Any help that anyone can shed would be wonderful!

Understood, but I am not using the Results Page to show them their results. I actually removed all the metrics from this page, as well as the review quiz button. I also don't let them see if they got a question right or wrong from the Captivate quiz. We are uploading the Captivate assessments to our own training website. After they submit the test, it then brings them to our own web page to tell them the score and what they got right or wrong.
That is why I would like the Skip button to work inside of the test. What we were doing on our site, was that if they click Skip, it moves that question to the end of the queue, so if there are 10 questions, they see the Skipped ones again after the 10th.
I'm wondering if this can help. I submitted a case to Adobe Support and they responded as follows: "I would like to inform that, we have duplicated your issue at our end and found that you need to add some Java script under 'Action' of 'quiz properties' panel to accomplish this task."
I don't know anything about JavaScript so I'm wondering if someone could assist with what I need to do here with this? I'm concerned I wont' be able to use Captivate for testing if I can't get this 1 function working, and I really would like to, b/c there are a lot of great features and we've spent a lot of time getting it to work with our site. Any help your or anyone could give would be greatly appreciated!

Play, pause, and skip button won't work on lock screen

When I slide the little tab up and it gives you the options of the flashlight,calculator, and camera the play button and skip button don't work. I have an ipod5 and updated to iOS 7 how do I get it to work

Thanks for your help. I tried a restore but that didn't work. Do you know of any instructions for taking one of these units apart? I might try seeing if anything is obstructing the buttons. If not, the buttons are probably faulty, just as you said.

2.3.1 skip button

Anyone else annoyed with this - I have some video I've tagged as music video with chapters but if I press left or right button on remote it now restarts the thing from chapter 1 rather than going to next chapter as it used to. It's a real pain in the butt to select chapters from the menu when you just want to quickly skip a song.

I may be wrong but I have a music video collection as one file which is split into chapters, and I'm sure I used to be able to skip between tracks on earlier software. In 2.2 or 2.3.1 it either restarts or ends the music, but from memory earlier software jumped to the next track.
Holding the play/pause button brings up the chapter selection list as for Movies/TV Shows so it's an inconsistent behaviour.
