SKIP INSPECTION

Dear QM guys
I have received a below requirement from my customer.
We are using DMR for our material to Skip the inspection on frequency based (Inspection type 01). This is working fine.
This DMR or Quality Level is maintained in Material, Vendor and Plant combination.
But my customer requirement was materials will be different, but the Grade is single one and the supplier also single source.
So skip should be work based on Grade not based on material number.
    Example : Material No : A, B, C, D, E, F
                    Grade         : SS304
                    Vendor       : 100197
                    Plant           : BD01
Normally Quality level maintained in Combination of Plant - BD01,  Material - A, and Vendor - 100197.
My requirement was Quality level and skip should be maintained as Plant - BD01, Grade - SS304, Vendor - 100197.
So that if 25 lots is a frequency, system should take a count of no of lots from all material A to F.
Is there anyway execute this

M S Madhankumar

The question here is how he is arriving on this grading list, if it is a manual activity, you can ask client to consolidate entire materials of the lsit and run a BDC at fixed frequencies.
I dont think, he will gain anything by creating a Filed in DMR screen called Grade. Grade is nothing but a grouping for him, Once you get the list of Gardewise items, you can run batch jobs to change status of DMR.
The next question is does he need a report grade wise, then as sujith told, you have to incorporate the grade field in DMR transaction. I feel, you should do this only if a specific requirement for grade wise report.
Even a DMR with status can be easily extracted with material, vendor and plant combination .
Thanks

  • Skip inspection at the time of Goods Receipt

I want to skip inspection since it has been done at source. How can I do it at the time of GR ? I know about activating indicator 'Source Inspection - No GR', but I don't find it in MIGO screen.

If you maintian this indicator in Q-info record then you will see that indicator in MIGO (QI01)
No GR Inspection if Source Inspection Lot Exists
    Use
If you set this indicator, the system does not create any inspection lots
at goods receipt for purchase order items that have undergone a source
         inspection.

  • Skip Inspection LOT

    Dear Gurus,
suppose one material having QM activate, all the processes have been carried out on regularbasis.
now if a vendor supplies material with no rejection last three months, system should skip inspection lot
material should post the stock to unrestricted not in QC. stock
    is it possible in SAP
    Siva

Keep in mind that dynamic modification is not time driven. It is lot driven.  You cannot specify any set times.
The only time you can specidy a number of days is for the reset value. The DMR gets reset if NO lots are created in a given time.  Each time you get a new lot, the reset date is recalculated.

    2. Auto UD & skip indicator in inspection setup in the material master.
and it same for all the inspection type as like 01.

  • Skip inspection lots

    Hi All,
Can anybody please guide me abt Skip lots and automatic usage decion.
According to what I have understood,if i activate Skip lots and automatic UD tick in QM view of Materail Master and keep the characterstics in Inspection plan as optional charracteristics,Automatic UD will be made for the lot after particular time lapse (time maintained in Customising) and stock posting of lot will be done to unrestricted stock
    My doubts are-
    Is result recording required?
When will the lot have stats as SKIP?
Are there some more conditions for SKIP lots?
Please guide and also correct me if I am wrong

    Hi
If I am not using dynamic modification rule,Can i not skip lots?
    No
Also,If i can,is result recording necessary if DMR is not being used?
It is not mandetory to do RR for SKIP lots
My scenario is that my client does not want to deactivate the inspection type in setup but does not want inspection for a particular material to happen for next 4 months.
Best sloution will be to use Quality Info Record for the same.
As you aware that Quality Info Record is Vendor-Material-plant combination.
So in QI01-->You can Maitain Relese Date: -->This will be 4 months Hence date.
& In Inspection control of QInfo record you can maintain "No Inspection"
This will put material to Unrestricted use directly after GR made till valid date.
After that you can change the date.
    or
Use DMR & in QDR3 you can maintain "Reset period " as 4 months.
this will reset the DMR & lots will come to Quality for inspection.
I hope this will add some value.

  • QM 'Skip' Inspection Lot Characteristics

Does anyone know where I would be able to find information on 'Skip' master inspection characteristics through an inspection lot?  And, is it possible for a certain characteristic to skip on a scheduled interval as opposed to a characteristic that is skipped every time?

  • Material with Skip Inspection but no Skip-to-stock goods movement

We have a material with the following QM setting:
    Inspection Type : 01 (Active)
    Skips Allowed = Yes
    automatic usage decision = Yes
Inspection with Task list = No
    Dynamic Modification Rule = Set
Cont.Ins Lot creation (QMAT-CHG) = "1. For each Material Doc, material, batch and sloc)
Current DMR Stage is a Skip Stage
For the above settings, when a GR is done for a material in Skip status, the system creates a Inspection Lot with status "SKIP" but still moves the stock to Q-stock.
We expect the movement to be to "unrest" but this does not happen. Also, this Q-Stock Stock Type prints on the GR Slip, which incorrectly prompts the goods to be sent to Quality Inspection. This causes a lot of confusion in the GR/Inspection process
I contacted SAP and they came back with this very unclear message:
if you are using any form of the inspection lot collection the quantity of the inspection lot will be cumulated during the goods receipt postings. So a skip-to-stock would be dangerous as no check of the quality (UD) of the coming goods receipt would occur after the first goods receipt
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a use-exit that will work around this and move stock directly to Unrestricted use stock?

    Hi,
We faced the same problem and went back to option:
Cont.Ins Lot creation (QMAT-CHG) = "For each Material Document item
This solves the problem and was in our case the solution for receipts from production. But at goods receipt for purchase orders we still use the option for each material document, batch and SL.
There we pick up the materials in WM by hand by scanning the bar codes on the pallets (printed at GR). The transfer order creates a negative quant in unrestricted use that is later filled by the automatic usage decision that moves the stock from quality to unrestricted in the same bin.
    Hope this helps.....

  • Inspection time Capacity Updation in work center for skipped lots

    Hi Guys,
I am using in process inspection type 03 along with DMR criteria at lot level i have defined the DMR rule and assigned it in routing header.DMR rule is inspection lot 1 in 5 will be inspected i.e when the inspection lot will be created and if there is no quality level exists it will first create the quality level with 1st inspection lot which will not be skipped lot and then it will skip next 4 lots and 5th will be inspected again.Quality level is updated during lot creation level.
what i am looking is when you have the skip inspection lot he capacity which has been planned for inspection for that work center should not be considered since there is no inspection done because of skipped inspection on that work center although it's the part of Routing/production process.
please let me know if any more inputs required.
    your inputs/feedback is really appreciated
    Regards
    Ashutosh Shende

    Hi Krishna,
It is distributing unevenly because of the Int. Dist. key maintained for "Labour" capacity category.
Following are the available dist keys.
I think for your scenario, you should select SAP020
SAP000     Overall load for latest start date
SAP010     Overall load for earliest start date
SAP020     Equal distrib. earliest dates, fact.cal.
SAP030     Equal distrib. latest dates, fact. cal.
SAP040     Equal distrib. latest dates, discrete
SAP050     Equal distrib. earliest dates, oper.time
SAP060     Equal distr. latest dates, operat. time
SAP070     Overall load at latest finish date
Please let me know if this works for you.

  • DMR configuration for skip lot inspection

    Hi QM experts,
My client needs to configure DMR for skip inspection lot.
    Scenario Requires following steps:
    1.     Maintain PPAP approved status
    2.     After PPAP approval inspection of next 10 consecutive lots.
    3.     If all lots OK, system skip 1 in 2 lots.
    4.     Then system again checks next 6 consecutive lots, if there is any rejection again repeat step 2 else skip 1 in 3 lots.
    5.     Same cycle will repeat for skip 1 in 5, then skip 1 in 10, skip 1 in 20 and so onu2026
I am new to PPAP status and DMR. Kindly guide how to map this in SAP. What are the SPRO settings required and what master data to maintain for it, and what will be the process flow.

    Siva

    Hi Siva
As per my knowledge it is not possible to skip inspection based upon duration.
For ur requirement u can try following
    1. u don't want inspection if material is coming with good quality for 3 months - u must be knowing the approximate number of lots that will come in 3 months...
    2. use DMR- Stage 1 number of insp= no. of lots. if all lots accepted to go stage 2
    3. stage 2 skip= as per ur requirement
    4. schedule job for skip lots in qa17
after GR, inspection lot will be created. these lots will be automatically posted to unrestricted use as per scheduled job

  • Quality Inspection for the 1st time Receive of Batch

    Hi all.
My requirement is just to do the quality inspection when the Batch(MCHA-CHARG) is received in the first time in MIGO.
No quality inspection is required for next & consequtive goods receive for the same batch.
for the 1st time receive, the stock will go to quality inspection stock for any batch of a material. From the next time , the stock will go directly to unrestricted stock without quality inspection. is it possible? plz advice.
    Thanks
    pabi

    Hi Pabi,
I am not sure if this will help you, but here are the three options that you might want to consider:
    - Source inspection. The idea here is that an IL is created for a purchase order prior to GR. All subsequent receipts for this PO can be configured to skip inspection.
    - Control if insp. lot in material master (insp. set-up). In this case, the system will not create new insp. lot, if there's already one open for the same batch - it will merely add the qty of the new GR to the same open insp. lot.
    - With dynamic modification you can let the following receipts of the same material from the same vendor to go without QI, but you can't fine-tune it by batch.
I know this is not the same what you want, but I can't recall at the moment a function that will satisfy your requirement exactly.

  • Quality inspection for vendor wise

    Hi,
My client is having a vendor in Hyderabad, he is a properitory vendor then  inspection isn't required while receiving the material.Another vendor is  in Bangalore, for this vendor inspection is required. But the material number is same for both the vendors. How can i proceed this scenerio. Can anybody suggest.
    Regards,
    Krishna

    Hi Krish,
You can control this scenario through Inspection control in the Insp. Control tab of Q-info record. Maintain Q-info record for the vendor you need to skip inspection through QI01, Enter the Vendor QM system in the Vendor master record (Consult MM Guy), and select the Existing QM system such that it matches the Vendor QM system and select the inspection control as No Inspection. Your problem will be solved.
Reward if cleared or get back with queries.

  • Dynamic modifcation rule / Skip

    Hi
It is hard for me to understand the rule and the skip procedure .
Can any explain me please with and without skip( Settings )
Stage Change Defined for Inspection Stage
    No of inspections
    New stage
    Max skip duration
    Rejection
    New inspection
    Thanks
    JJ

    Hi,
Let me try to explain the DMR in short.
Let us suppose for example, we have set Sampling procedure to pick 50% of the Inspection Lot and do UD based on the RR.
    Now consider following cases:
For 1st time GR --> We inspected 50% of the Lot and it is cleared as good Quality
For 2nd time GR --> We inspected 50% of the Lot and it is cleared as good Quality
For 3rd time GR --> We inspected 50% of the Lot and it is cleared as good Quality
For 4th time GR --> We inspected 50% of the Lot and it is cleared as good Quality
For 5th time GR --> We inspected 50% of the Lot and it is cleared as good Quality
... so on and so far.
This is a case with no DMR.
As inspection Process is a cost for the company; there is a arguement in favour of skipping Inspection process for the 6th time as the earlier history is good. It can be safely assumed (based on the earlier pattern) that even if we do GR for 6th time,it will pass as Quality Inspection. Dynamic Modification tries and maps this situation in SAP.
The earlier scenario will now look like below with DMR (which tries to vary Inspection Scope based on UD):
Stage 1: For 1st time GR --> We will inspect 50% of the Lot --> We will call it Normal Inspection
Stage 2: For 2nd time GR --> We will inspect 20% of the Lot if UD for stage 1 is Okay --> We will call it Reduced Inspection
Stage 3: For 3rd time GR --> We will inspect  0% of the Lot if UD for stage 1 & 2 is Okay --> We will call it Skip Inspection
Stage 4: We will inspect 100% of the Lot if any point the UD is rejected for the lot --> We will it Tightened Inspection
These Inspection Stages are defined in the DM Rule.Normal,Skip,Reduced and Tightened is called the Inspection Severity.
    Other Important Points
    1. The DMR can be applied for Plant, Material and Vendor Combinations and is called Dynamic Modification Criteria.
    2. The Dynamic Modification, Stage Changes can happen while UD or while Lot Creation. We need to define this in the Inspection Plan Header.
    3. DMR is often used in sync with Sampling Scheme to change Inspection Lot quantity based on the Inspection Severity
    4. There are further finer points wrt DMR that will only become clear once you start using it.
Please let me know if this sounds Okay.
    Thanks,
    RKM.

  • Automatic lot creation based on time Frequency

    Hi,
For 01 inspection incoming inspection ,
F or  certified vendors, without inspection , material is getting posted to UUS without lot creation. ( QI info record settings).
but for this case , business requirement is to get automatic lot creation based on time like 6 months once .
Automatic lot to be created for this certified vendor on time frequency basis. how to trigger this Lot creation based on time.
    Help.
    VV.

    Hi,
In std SAP we dont have option of generating Automatic lot creation based on periodic basis. But we can provide some workaround soultion.
    Option 1:
USe Source Insepction concept. Here Inspection lot will be created for every P.O. Here u can relase P.O line items in QI07 which can sceduled in Job planning on periodic basis. Use Skip inspection lot concept to skip unwanted lots. This has direct relation with Q-Info record.
    Option 2:
U can generate automatic lot creation based on Stability study concept. Here are the following steps
    Initiate Stablility study
    Create Initial sample
    Perform intial test
    Confirm initail sample
    stability planning
    Define storage condition
    create testing schedule
    store stability sample
    define cycle start
    schedule
    complete stability study.
    Option 3:
To get Automatic lot creation u can use BAPI QPL1_INSPECTION_LOT_CREATE . When a due date come for inspection,it created a lot of 01 / Z-01 inspection type automatically through QA01( call the program ,enter the inspection lot origin & material, vendor & save). Create Z-T code which has vendor material plant combination.
Execute the above T-code based on Periodic basis.
Explore above 3 options and choose best one according to ur requirements.
