Skipping or pausing tracks causes a burst of sound before skip or pause. Extremely distracting HELP!

When ever i skip a track in itunes i get a sudden burst of sound and then the track beggins to play. I get no problems with the audio quality when the track is playing but it is extremly annoying! The same happens when pausing. I have reinstalled but it still happens. This does not happen in any other audio player including winamp which i just downloaded and tested minuites ago. This only seemes to have started happening since i brought a dedicated soundcard as i listen to high bit rate lossless music through high end headphones. HELP!!
P.S sound enhancer is not turned on

The same exact thing is happening to me (but I have Snow Leopard). My music is on a USB external hard drive (1TB MyBook) and with almost every song I try to skip, it hangs for upwards of 5 seconds. This is especially annoying because I shuffle my music quite often and I tend to skip over many songs before I find one I want to listen to; and, it happens both when the music is paused and playing.
This hanging has never happened to this extent before upgrading to iTunes 9.0. If there is not a fix to this how can I go about downgrading to iTunes 8.0?

Why are multiple audio tracks causing one of the track levels to increase automatically when the other doesn't have an audio file in it?

So I'm editing an interview and during subtitle sequences in the interview where there is no audio in the interview audio track, the levels automatically rise in the background music track. Here's an illustration of my problem...

I also troubleshooted by clicking the Solo button on the background music track and the music plays at the elevated level the whole way through when it's set to be the only track to play. So for some reason, the interview audio track (when it's playing sound) is causing the background music track to decrease in level. I get the same thing on exports. Why is Premiere messing with my levels automatically? No phone or chat support so I'm left asking the forums, thanks for the great customer service Adobe.

I'll copy & paste that conversation here, rather than waste a lot of time writing up something from scratch, especially since I've already wasted an INCREDIBLE amount of time on this problem, and I'm about ready to go berserk...

I've been using Session Manager for a long time, but lately, it's been causing a problem that's been driving me out of my skull, and I think I've finally pinned it down to SM. lately, when I've tried to load sessions, even with a small number of tabs, it's caused my internet connection to drop, or, at least, to slow down to the point where pages try to load, but finally come back with a message that the connection timed out, or the page had took too long to respond. I have my Windows Vista Home Premium computer running Firefox 11 connected via Ethernet to a wifi router that is connected to a cable modem. I tried disabling pre-fetching, resetting my router to factory settings, I tried a different router, I tried removing the router and connecting directly to the cable modem, i tried a different modem, I tried disabling the Symantec extension, I tried clearing windows' DNS cache, I tried disabling Firefox's DNS cache, I tried disabling Symantec's Firefox extension (I have Norton anti-virus), and I tried disabling my anti-virus & firewall programs (hmmm, did I leave anything out?), but none of that solved the problem. I haven't noticed this behavior with any other program, and Firefox goes along swimmingly otherwise. The reason why I think I've finally pinpointed it as SM is that trying to load a certain 9-tab session caused this problem multiple times, but I eventually got it all loaded correctly, and then I tried restarting it, and Firefox's own built-in feature of loading the tabs and windows if it closed properly the last time worked just fine, and it loaded quite quickly.
So, why might this be happening, and what can I do about it? Do you think it might be a matter of the SM data being corrupted/ If so, how do I get rid of it? I found the Session Manager Export Tool extension and exported my sessions and then tried uninstalling and re-installing SM, but it hadn't gotten rid of the old SM data. Please help, as I consider SM to be a vital part of my Firefox and have come to rely on it, plus I'd like to be able to use my old saved sessions again. Please help ASAP, too, as I've already wasted an unbelievable amount of time on this and I am extremely frustrated and aggravated. Thank you.

"Session Managwr cannot cause your Internet connection to drop, it simply doesn't have the ability to do that. All it can do is cause Firefox to restore tabs that have been saved. It can cause lots of web pages to load, which could slow down Firefox or possibly your Internet connection (if you have a really slow connection), but it can't drop your Internet connection. The only exception to that that I can think of is if your modem has a web page with a reboot button and you press that, then save the session such that restoring the session causes the reboot button to press, but that is extremely unlikely.
By default Firefox loads tabs one at a time anyway so it's unlikely to slow things down when loading sessions. If Firefox can restore sessions properly, the Session Manager should be able to do so as well, since Session Manager uses Firefox's restore capabilities.
I'd recommend disabling plugins in Firefox and/or other addons and see if that helps. If you can figure out what changed recently that would help narrow things down.
As for Session Manager data. It doesn't store anything other than the sessions. You can delete those if you wish."

Well, I have a cable internet connection, so I don't think speed is the problem there.
Are you sure about Firefox loading only one tab at a time? I know when I load a session, it seems to show several tabs loading at the same time, and I can't remember it ever not being that way.
Frankly, though, I need more specific, targeted help than being told to just start randomly disabling extensions. I've ALREADY wasted an INCREDIBLE amount of time on this and am ALREADY EXTREMELY frustrated and aggravated, and to just go blindly shooting around in the dark at random is only going to throw craploads more wasted time and aggravation onto the already huge pile. I'm at my wit's end here. I can't take much more of this. I need REAL help. I need more specific, targeted advice about what sorts of things I should be looking for, what sorts of things I should be trying, etc. I don't have any patience left to just start flailing around randomly and likely getting nowhere fast.

Check the output settings in GarageBand's preferences > Audio/Midi pane.
And in the System Preferences > Sound panel.
Also check the settings in Audio Midi Setup Utility.

Firstly, thanks for your message.
What I meant by "hi pass mid pass shrinking in" is EXACTLY what you menat, I got a heavy bass and muffed high and mid content. Apologised for my poor English.
I haven't checked the setting of the playback device yet but instead I tested it with some professional produced tracks. I know the sound tends to vary a little bit when playing from computer and CD player such as the CDJ 900 that I am using. The differences were not as significant as my own track. They tend to get a rather good balance. My track is well balanced and mixed (I guess) in Logic but it turns out completely different when using the CD player.
I bounced my work to MP3 with highest BIte Rate.

Does the track play correctly in Quicktime Player? If it does then it is an iTunes issue. If it doesn't then it is possible the file was not completely downloaded, or is corrupt.

Control settings at start of track cause delay in first note

I want to set my MSB and LSB bank, and instrument settings at the very beginning of my tracks. But I find that doing so causes a delay in the first notes of the track. If I remove the control data, the first note starts on beat one, so I am sure that it is the control data which causes the delay.
Any suggestions?

Set your song start before bar 1 by dragging this little square 1 or more bars to the left:
Now Logic has a 'runup' and you can move your initial bank settings so they're read & processed before any notes start.

Some Tracks Cause iPod to Crash/iPod Earbud Issues

Okay, so first off, ever since I updated my iPod with the latest update, songs recorded with Audacity (or the artist who created it recorded it in Audacity and distributed it for download on Myspace) make my iPod crash. I know this because some of these songs were recorded by myself and friends. Also, friends of mine that have songs appear to use Audacity as well, because their songs crash too. *** did you do, Apple?
Secondly, who the **** is gluing the speakers into the iPod earbuds? I'm on my third set since May (two have come from friends, previously unused), which I was given last month, and already the speakers are becoming unglued. And the most annoying part is, when they are loose, they make skipping sounds when the drums are loud enough (which is at a medium iPod volume). And then at the Apple Store, earbuds are like $30. And they aren't even Apple brand. I seriously think that some of their products are designed to fail so you pay for a replacement.
And don't tell me to glue them back myself. I did that with the last pair and the glue irritated the skin in my ears, causing scabs. Yeah, gross. Maybe Apple can design something a little more durable? Okay, a lot more durable.

Funny two audio tracks causing me grief I don't understand

somehow, I've got two ghost like audio tracks under my normal audio track that are causing funny things to happen when I encode. you can see what I mean by the attached picture with audio 2 and audio 3.
Specifically, when I leave these tracks enabled, everything sounds correct when I play back, but when I double speed the playback, the voice falls apart.
Any idea?

Having empty audio tracks in the Timeline
would not be the cause this problem.

Why would an audio track cause a video glitch?

I have a 1080 60p clip with no audio. If I create a sequence based on that clip, add a wav file to an audio track, then export using the H.264 60p custom preset with audio multiplexing to an .m2t everything looks fine.    However, if I export using the H.264 Blu-ray preset, 720p, 59.94, multiplexed, to an .m2t file the video has some stutters towards the end.   If I remove the audio track and do the same export, still muxed, the video is fine in 720p.   I get the same result if I start with a 720p sequence (i.e. addition of audio causes video glitch).
Edit: tried a different audio file, this time .mp3, same problem.
Edit: importing the muxed 60p export with audio, then exporting as noted in 720p has the same issue.
Comments?   Let me know if what I'm describing isn't clear.

Hi Jim - understood in an ideal world one would have source video footage, sequence, and output target all the same. Is it not common though for folks to have situations where there is more than one target output?
Anyway, I think I have a tree covering both roads if I understand your analogy. What is wrong with the following picture? I took the original 1080 60p clip, dragged it into a 720p 59.94 sequence, exported the video only. The exported video looks just fine in this case. I even tried different formats (Matrox MPEG I-Frame HD, H.264 Blu-ray muxed and not). It is all good.
Next I imported the aformentioned no issue video that is in 720 59.94 into a sequence that matches then exported to a matching format.   No issue with the resultant video.   Is this scenario not what you mentioned?   Start with video that matches the sequence and target output?
However, if I add an audio track, the video has some flashing/stuttering at the end particularly towards the top.   Why would exporting with or without an audio track in the above scenario make a difference?
In case it matters, the video came from a modified After Effects template. I don't own AE and paid another guy to modify the template. I will go back and ask him to render in 720p 59.94. Still, the above just doesn't seem right.

Deleting Bus Track Causes Crash
