Skipping/Pausing on imported a CD's to iTunes on a mac

I'm experiencing pausing/skipping when playing back music files iTunes 12.1.0.50. The Mac that I'm using is a MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB. The CD that I'm trying add to my iTunes library has AIFF files that were burned from Toast 11 in the form of 16 Bit 44.100 kHz AIFF file. When the burned disc is played in the Toast 11 program, they sounded fine(no pausing/skipping).  When the burned disc is played in my NAD S500i CD player & M56 Blue Ray DVD player the burned disc sounds fine. When downloading it into iTunes in the form of Apple lossless, AAC or playing the CD in iTunes, it does the pausing/skipping thing. After going back to the source and working my way up to iTunes, it appears that the pausing/skipping takes place in iTunes. I've recently added store purchased CD's and have had no problems playing back the files. Any suggestions?

I can see a extremely slow download of one at a time of the remaining songs.  Very disappointed in iTunes, should not take 24 hours to retrieve songs!!!

  • I can't import ringtones from my pc iTunes to my Mac mini iTunes.

I'm transferring my entire library from my old windows laptop to my new Mac mini. It's been easy to transfer everything, except it won't allow me to transfer my ringtones. And now the mac has erased the tones from my iPhone when I synced. Help!

    Hi Daniel!
I have an article here that can help explain how to do this through a couple of methods on your new MacBook Pro:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
Specifically, these are the instructions relevant to your situation:
    If you have a Mac
You can import pictures from your iOS device using iPhoto (if installed):
Connect the device to your computer. iPhoto should automatically launch into its import window with your device's images and videos listed.
Note: If iPhoto does not automatically open, you may wish to enable the behavior.
Click Import All. If you want only some of your images imported, select the images and videos you would like to import into iPhoto, then click the Import Selected button.
When the photos finish importing, you will be presented with a dialog asking whether you'd like to delete the original photos from your Camera Roll. Click Delete Photos.
Note: Deleting photos after importing helps to reduce Camera Roll size, and it improves backup and restore times. You may choose Keep Photos if you wish to import the photos to additional computers.
If you do not have iPhoto installed on your computer, you can import pictures from the device using Image Capture:
Connect the iOS device to the computer.
If Image Capture does not open automatically, you can navigate to your Applications folder and open Image Capture from there.
Choose the location to which you'd like to import pictures.
    Click Options.
Click the Options tab if it isn't already selected.
Enable the option "Delete items from camera after downloading".
Note: Deleting photos after importing helps to reduce Camera Roll size, and it improves backup and restore times. You may choose Keep Photos if you wish to import the photos to additional computers.
    Click OK.
    Click Download All.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • Are there step by step instructions to import Audio Book cds into iTunes 12 on Mac?

In iTunes 11, I could see the Audio book CD come up in the left hand column ABOVE my Playlists. I would simply create a new playlist, then click the CD icon, which would open, showing all the tracks in the right hand window. I could simply select all those tracks and then drag them to the left into the waiting Playlist, and it would burn. What is the process now? Thank you!

Ripped, yes, thank you. My window does not look the same: at the top, I can click Playlists and those show. The CD I've got in my drive used to show above that, including the title. Now I can click the CD icon to the left of the My Music, Playlists, Radio & iTunes store and then the window no longer shows the playlists, just the CD's track names and numbers. Can I have both windows open at once so I can drag to the playlists to rip?

  • Can I import .cda audio file in iTunes on my Macbook Pro with OS X Yosemite

Can I import .cda audio file in iTunes on my Macbook Pro with OS X Yosemite

    iNads,
.CDA files are simple index files, less than 1 kB in size, that do not contain any audio.  There is no reason to import them.
If you have the physical CD and wish to rip it into iTunes, you can import it per this guide:  iTunes 12 for Mac: Import songs from CDs

  • Bridge Skips Images on Import

Bridge has started skipping images on import.  I find fewer files than were on the CF disk.  First time I saw this I had set Bridge to delete on import.  Next time, I had to search for missing sequence numbers and reimport.  Out of about 450 images, 22 were missing.  This takes extra time, slows down my import process, and is error-prone.
I have resorted to using Adobe DNGConverter 6.6.0.261 but it is slower and has fewer features than Bridge.
I have applied all the updates to Adobe products as of 2/29/2012.  I am using CS5 with Photoshop & Bridge.  My Sony VIAO PCG-42421L is running Windows 7, 4 GB RAM, all updates applied as of 2/29/2011.  I am importing from 4 GB CF cards from a Canon 30D, images formatted as CR2.  I have set Bridge to convert to DNG and add ID & Copyright metadata.
I have found nothing on this problem in Adobe support or this forum.  Does Adobe have anything to say?  Has anyone else seen this or found a solution or have a better workaround?

Does Adobe have anything to say?
This is a user to user forum, if you want to contact Adobe directly you can find the link on the Help and support section at the main page of the Bridge forum.
Has anyone else seen this or found a solution or have a better workaround?
Not a solution because I never heard nor had this problem and I use Photodownloader a lot for several years now.
But I sure know a better workaround. The option to delete files after import should not even be there to my opinion but certainly it should not be used ever!!
Personally I have set import files in one main folder and on import have Bridge pointed to that folder so the cache is made instantly.  Rename files using yyyymmdd and sequence number (preserve original filename and no subfolders because the date renaming sort the files per date already),  convert to DNG, back up original Raw file and add metadata template.
After having checked the DNG files are correct (showing all thumbs and randomly choose some to see if the HQ preview has build correctly) I start thinking about deleting the files from card, often not on that moment but rather just before a new session. And I never use the delete function but the option to Format the CF card using the camera and the in camera software because that is the place where it should be done
Although I once have 'lost' some files in the early days at the start of this millennium due to not correctly remove from card reader (and they where not really lost but the resource fork or something had lost and therefore the files could not be found but where there still hidden). If we had the knowledge and easy access to recovery software like we have these days it also would not have been a problem then.
So assure you have the files you want (check the content in your computer, I use Mac and with a card reader I can easy access the content in the Finder, no reason why you should not be able to do that in Explorer) and after having copied them manually use the camera to format the card and keep doing so and see if the problem has gone.
Formatting every time instead of deleting has always been my workflow and I never lost the functionality of a CF card. (though I lost a few but with that I mean really lost in the field...)

  • Problems with importing CDs - is it an iTunes problem or a computer problem

    Hi,
I just purchased a new iMac in August, and have had problems importing audio CDs into my iTunes library. Sometimes the computer completely skips over certain songs when importing or the songs are imported but have parts skipped over, almost like the cd is skipping while it is importing. This is happening quite frequently, and it is happening with cds that I know aren't scratched, etc, so there is no reason that I can think of that these wouldn't be importing just fine. I'm wondering if this is an iTunes issue or a computer issue. I don't want to bring my computer in to get serviced if this is just merely an iTunes problem.
Thanks so much for your help!

    No, just the touch events.
I think it's because I have an Apple multitouch pad but it functions as a mouse so it's actually sending two notices. It doesn't do it on a touch screen device nor does it do it when everything is switched to mouse events, so I think it's just unique to Device Central and this particular type of mouse.

  • Systematic import of library when starting itunes 6.0.1.3

well, I am using windows 2000.
I have 7.5GB of music stored in itunes and for some reason itunes imports the library every time I launch the software; Every time I start itunes I get a message saying that "itunes library.itl" does not seem to be a valid file, and itunes then creates a file called "itunes library (damaged).itl"...
I am not using podcasts, and everything was ok until I decided to move from 4.5GB to 7.5GB of music and 2212 songs.
I uninstalled itunes 6.0.1.3 and re-installed it, but the problem is still there, so I assume it has something to do with the size of the 2 files used by itunes.
"itunes music library.xml" is 3,096KB and "itunes library.itl" is 2,272KB.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

I've determined that iTunes has to be the topmost active window when importing, otherwise it will crash consistantly. And I though Microsoft was bad...
iTunes for the Mac works fine though.

  • Need to import playlists from iPod to iTunes

My computer was acting up the other day and I closed out of iTunes improperly. When I oped it up the next day all of my play lists were missing. And there is no music or movies in my library. I would rather not have to import all my music and videos back in and create new play lists. So is there any way I can import the play lists into iTunes? Or is there anything else I can do? I tried drag and drop into the play list section but it wouldn't let me. Please help.

Use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.

If I imported a CD into my iTunes library from one computer how can I listen to it from another computer?  I imported music from a CD into my compter at work and when I got home and went to my iTunes account none of the songs were in my library.  I also noticed that on my Work computer there were a couple songs that I had to click on the little 'cloud' icon before I could listen to them (these were not songs I imported they were songs that were already in my library).  Not sure if this makes semse...help.

Only if you have iTunes Match or of the computers are on the same local network.

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software,  play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.

  • Importing all my music to iTunes(Please help me out)

    Hello,
I just purchased a 20gb ipod today and am havintg some trouble importing all of my music. I have complete music library's in "RealPlayer" "Winamp" and "Windows Media Player", it doesnt matter which one of these i import from(whatevers easier i guess). I have tried the add folder option on "Documents and settings", "my documents" and "program files" and it has only imported around 600 of the 3600 songs in my music library.
Also, i have read pages and pages on this board trying to find an answer. I saw one post which talked about this very issue but it was never resolved. It confronted importing from windows media to iTunes and the answer was to highlight all the music and drag it over to iTunes. This Does Not Work. I highlight all my song, hold down on the mouse and move it over to the iTunes box. However once i leave the Windows media box the arrow from my mouse turns into a circle w/a line acrosse, not allowing me to drag it.
Please Give me an answer on how I can import all my music to iTunes. If you do I will kiss your feet and applaud your genious.
    Please help me out.
    Josh

    Hi,
No. I never found a solution to the problem to import my music libary from Realplayer to itunes.
I have exhausted everything that I know and have read as tips from this and other posts.
Please come back to post an answer if you find a solution and I will do the same.
I am going to go ahead and just synch to Realplayer to fill up my ipod. Then I will see if I can switch to itunes for all future synching and hope that I can find a way not to lose the music on my ipod that came from Realplayer. If this doesn't work, I will have to stick with Realplayer as my main music interface and synching for ipod.

  • I recorded a panel presentation on my Ipod and would like to edit the recording on my itunes so I can export the recording and send it to my colleagues over the internet.  I was able to import the recording to my itunes library but need help editing it.

Hello, thanks in advance for your help.  I recorded a panel presentation on an ipod and would like to edit the audio recording to just one portion of the recording.  I was able to import the audio into my itunes 11.1.3 music library but I have not been able to edit the length of the recording.  I followed an online tutorial and was able to edit when the recording starts and stops on the recording but I haven't been able to edit out the parts of the recording that I dont want.  Also when I try to export it to my Desktop or to Garageband (not sure if that helps or not) I am not able to export it.  It is currently a .WAV file.  I would like to edit the length of the recording and then export the file onto my desktop.  I would like to email the presentations to my colleagues online so I could also use advice on how to make it a smaller file since it is current 945.6 MB.

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

  • Why can I no longer import EDITED photo from my iPad to my Mac using Image Capture from Snapseed app?

Why can I no longer import EDITED photo from my iPad to my Mac using Image Capture? This is farcical and a real problem having to email them individually to myself and is totally inefficient time wise compared to previously using image capture! Why change this when it was working well and very quickly until the latest change. Now I have to move files from downloads into an appropriate folder, after emailing each individual edited image to myself, then I have to open in Photoshop and rename the file. This is ludicrous and takes forever to do!

Thank you! I suppected it would be in the settings somewhere. I' ve much to learn...get myself into trouble pushing buttons I don't really understand.
