Skipping songs and then erasing everything. Please Help
My iPod had been having this problem for a few weeks, but I "fixed" it, and now it is happening again. I have an ipod 40gb touch wheel, and what its doing is I restored my ipod, using 2005.09.06, and then I put all my t4racks back into it through itunes. But, after a day to a week, it will start scrolling through all the songs, never playing any of them, and then go back to the menu. I tried to reset it (play/menu buttons together), and it erased all my tracks. This has happened a couple of times.
Can anyone please help me?

I have the same problem with my 3rd generation iPod. I also "fixed" it, or so I thought, but then the problem returned after awhile. I hate to tell you this, but I really don't think there is a fix for this problem. I've tried all of the recommended "solutions," but none of them worked for very long. I don't think there is anything the matter with my iPod I think the latest firmware update is responsible - others think so too. Did you recently update the firmware for your iPod?

Library says it's loading and then nothing! Please help?
Hi All,
I'm trying to get my itunes copied over from my old Sony Viao to my new Mac book pro. I've set up my homesharing and my old library appears in my itunes shared section on the mac, but there are no songs in there. Everytime I click on it says 'loading library' but nothing then happens, no songs no nothing!
Have I set something up wrong or is there something I can do to change this?

If you have a graphic of iTunes and a cable displayed on your iDevice then it is in Recovery mode.

Ok. So my iTunes started acting up a few months ago. ALL of the songs I purchased from the iTunes store stop in the middle of the song and then go back to the begining (I keep it on repeat one song by the way). Please help!!! (Windows 7) I would really like to hear my songs all the way through, but I can't . I tried the "Convert Protected ACC files to Purchased ACC files fix" but it DIDN'T work. I don't know what to do. It does it when I transfer the music onto my Classic too.

When I try to play a song on my iPod Touch, it shows the information screen for the song and then skips to a new song but then goes back to the main playlist page without ever playing a song! Help!
thats tough man, yeah exchanging it is the best option. But why do people always leave a message saying" i'll probably just by an ipod" and it's usually followed by, "even though i don't like apple or ipod" . I had to erase my hard drive and then reinstall everything back from my passport external hard drive. Now my iPhoto edit is not working. I get a blank screen when I want to edit. The photos show up in the library but I cannot edit them. Help?
There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

I assume you know where your catalogue file (the lrcat file) is located. In the same folder is a previews lrdata folder which you should delete or rename in Explorer, then start LR again.
If I've made incorrect assumptions above, sorry, and we'll go back over it from the start.

Howdy carpetjim,
When you change the folder location like that, it changes where new songs and media are stored. To actually load the library you need to do this:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
If you are using the Mac, open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option key.
You should see one of the following screens:
Additional information
If you do not see one of the screens above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.

I have a couple of troubleshooting suggestions for you regarding this issue. First, I would suggest that you reinstall iTunes, according to the instructions in this article:

To reinstall iTunes, download it from the Apple Downloads website.

Note that all you will need to do is download iTunes and install it again, it will install over the version that is on your computer right now without issue. If your issue persists, you may want to see this article about troubleshooting third-party plugins for iTunes:

I signed into icloud to find my iphone. icloud tried to upload my calendar, froze my desktop calendar and then erased it when I unchecked the box. I use time machine. Can I restore my desktop calendar and how do I keep everything but my phone locator and mail off? I do not want to sync my desktop with icloud except for mail.

You buy one and only one download.
It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your music.
Certainly you did not update your ipod without making sure that you had transferred anything purchased on the ipod to your computer and included it in your regular backup copy of your computer.
