Skipping Songs When There is 30 Seconds Left

I have the 30 gig 5th gen video Ipod (white). I noticed recently that some of the songs will skip when there is 30 seconds left. I thought I was going crazy. Until I figured out what it was doing. I have over 3,000 songs and it seems that the last 2 albums I uploaded seem to have a couple songs that skip when there is 30 seconds left. Most of the songs on the albums will skip but not all of them. I've been reading post that some people think it was because of the last I-tunes update? Has anybody had this problem before the last update? for months or years? Cause then it might be hardware problem. Also my I-Tunes is perfectly fine and stuff.

Hi there,
I've been having exactly the same problem (iPod 5th generation) skipping the last 30 seconds of recently synced songs. I can't recall when this problem started, but the problem has persisted through the last few updates to iTunes, including the most recent version 8.1.
The solution is to simply hit "sync" a second time. No need to disconnect the iPod. Even though iTunes thinks the first sync has completed (and the files are all copied to the iPod), the copy is incomplete for some songs. Hitting sync a second time will cause the iPod to re-copy only those songs which are incomplete. You can see this process occurring if you open the Music pane under the iPod.
Hope this workaround helps. I really wish Apple would fix this problem.
Cheers,
David

  • Is it bad to charge your iPad when there is like 30% left ?

Is it bad to charge your iPad when there is like 30% left ?

Question: What is a "charge cycle"?
Answer: Lithium-ion batteries can be charged a finite number of times, as defined by charge cycle. A charge cycle means using all of the battery's power, but that doesn't necessarily mean a single charge. For instance, you could use to your iPad for a few hours one day, using half its power, and then recharge it fully. If you did the same thing the next day, it would count as one charge cycle, not two, so you may take several days to complete a cycle. Each time you complete a charge cycle, it diminishes battery capacity slightly, but you can put your iPad's battery through many charge cycles before it will only hold 80 percent of its original battery capacity.
Don't worry about it, since the battery will take 1000s of charge cycles.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • Skipping songs when running

I had a problem with my second gen iPod Touch showing it had 3gb of movies when I had already cleared them from iTunes. Anyway, did a restore and that solved that problem. However, since the restore, I have a new problem: When I am running on the treadmill listening to songs, it plays a few seconds of a song, then beeps and skips to another song. This goes on non-stop. When I am just walking, it does fine. This never happened before -- until I did the restore. Any suggestions?
    Pam

Never mind -- I did a search and discovered the "shake to shuffle" was magically turned on after I did the restore. Turned it off -- will see if that solved the problem.

  • ITunes skips songs, when import to iPhone all songs are 2:34 length (they aren't)

So my iTunes and iPhone are completely FUBAR and I can't find any solution.
I have an iPhone 4s on version 7.0.4. I am currently using iTunes 11.2.1. Late 2011 Macbook Pro running 10.8.5, whichever cat that is.
Starting in December 2013, most new songs I import into iTunes will skip at random points in the song to the end of the song. There was no pattern as far as I could tell, though it didn't seem to be happening with music bought from iTunes. Music from CDs, bandcamp, etc. was the problem. For example, a song with a length of 5:55 would randomly skip to the end at 3:46. But, if I manually skipped to any point after 3:46 it would play the normally skipped part fine. This was not a huge problem as I could then import the songs to my iPhone and listen on there with no skipping.
In the past few weeks though, now every song I import to my iPhone cuts off at 2:34. Every single song. They skip in iTunes at a random point, then I import them to my phone where they skip at 2:34 (and are labelled as only 2:34 long), and then after being imported to my iPhone they skip at 2:34 in iTunes as well.
Last night, for absolutely no reason, about 80% of my music disappeared from my phone. It's still there, but can't be played for some reason. So I tryed syncing to my computer, but lo and behold, every song on my iPhone is now 2:34.
Please help, I'm very close to burning all of my devices in a fire and starting over.

I also have this problem, but on my 64-bit Windows 7 desktop. My income level no longer permits me to purchase Apple computers. Anything that I've bought off of the iTunes store, most of it's ten to six years old, will not play any further than 2:34. I just knew when I agreed to this "protected music" business I'd find myself a decade down the line staring at an expensive but unplayable music collection.

  • HELP!!! Mini is SKIPPING SONGS when playing, and on boombox!!!

When I play songs on my mini or on the boombox, it skips songs. I have a windows xp. Is anyone else having problems? Have they been fixed? Somebody help me!

    hey!
My ipod does the same thing sometimes...but good news i have a solution that works!!!! it only happens to mine when i download new songs sometimes, but what you have to do is take those songs off your ipod ( not your library , just the ipod) and then put them back on again. This always fixes the problem!! it maybe that the files are corrupted when the were loaded on to the ipod, but doing this will fix the problem

  • ITunes moves to next song when there's still 4 sec's left on current song

When a song is only 25 seconds long, this quite annoying (i.e., a decent percentage of the song that is cut off). Likewise, when I listen to a 25 min song, it is kind of a let down to not get the very end.
I have never noticed this before (i.e., don't know if has always been or recently started).
Anyone have any thoughts? ANY help is GREATLY appreciated!
    Thanks much.

  • Zen vision:m 60GB freezes when there's '10 seconds remaining' of video left to copy o

Today I received my Zen which I ordered from Creative. Everythings peachy at the moment, but i have one seriously annoying problem. Nearly every video i've tried to copy over, gets to almost 00% and then just sto
    ps.
..the file transfer animation continues in windows , and the zen doesn't physically crash either
The video will be in my videos directory but only about 2 seconds of it will play before it just sto
    ps.
    Highly annoying, can anyone help?

Is there enough memory for the video to fit's Is it in the right format/codec? I am assuming it is since you were not asked to re-encoded before transferring the file.
Other than that, you may try restoring or formating the player to the original settings. The worst case scenario is that it is a hardware problem, but try to eliminate all other alternati'ves before reaching that conclusion.
    Good luck!

  • IPod skips song when I change song.... normal?

Hi I just got an iPod today and was wondering if this was normal: I loaded my itunes library into my ipod, but when I change songs the hard drive will hum for about 15 seconds. After 15 seconds it will skip the song it was searching for and just go to a new one. I was wondering if this is normal and if not, is there a solution to this?
This probably happens about 50% of the time which is quite a nuisance.

I actually found this topic which is the same problem I have just in case other people are having this.... Seems like no solution yet though

  • Skipping songs when trying to add album art

    Hello,
I have a 60gb video ipod and am having a problem recently. Everytime I rip a CD onto itunes I have to add the artwork manually and when I do this, the songs (on only the new CD) on iTunes skip during the beginning 10 seconds of every song. As well, iTunes shows that it is downloading the album art, but it doesn't add anything.
    Can anyone please help.
    Thanks very much.

    Really Weird,
Numbering is fine now but when I attempt to add artwork, it doesn't allow it and puts skips int the beginning of every song. This is not just when I play the song in iTunes but it actually writes the skip onto the song so that no matter what player I use, it skips. This is now obviously an iTunes problem, not iPod but any help would be great.

  • Skipping songs where there are songs

Since updated it is skipping over songs that previously worked. But no volume issues.

Read in another thread a solution that worked for me. Basically, you need to delete the music from the phone and re-copy from iTunes with 2 syncs. In the music tab, uncheck the boxes in the playlist, artist and genre option, removing all music from the phone, then sync. Then, re-check the desired music to copy back to the phone and sync. Music should play now from the phone.

  • Ipods skip songs when synced

I am having issues. I sync all four ipods to itunes and songs skip whether they are bought on itunes or loaded from disc. Most all skip how can this be resolved. I am currently running Vista. I really would like some help it is driving me nuts.

I have exactly the same problem. Three of my older Ipods play all songs without problem. My brand new Nano 4G 16 GB skips quite a few songs. Most of them have been riped from CD. I saw in other forums, that this is not an uncomon problem. I called Apple Support today and was told that most likely this is a hardware problem. I was told to mail my Nano to Apple which I will do.
