Skipping to the top of the document when text selection tool selected

This may be difficult to explain. But often after I click in the toolbar to switch over to a specific Adobe document (in windows 7) that I previously opened and that is open to a page other than page 1 and with the text select tool has been selected, if I click into the text on the page (say page 4) and then scroll down with the mouse wheel to get to page five, the program will jump back to the beginning of page 1. (display is set at single page - fit page). I like Acrobat very much, but I find this to be extremely irritating and wasteful when trying to select text from and navigate a large document. Can you please tell me why this occurs?

We're here to try to help you; we get some satisfaction out of helping folks to get along with their Apple Pages software. If you just take this one step at a time, I'm sure we can sort it out.
Thanks for clearing up what your primary issue is. You had Fruhulda all confused with your complaint about printing. I sort of glossed over the printing issue because you seemed to be more focused on the formatting.

Some of my desktop documents now have the Mozilla logo on them & when I open the doc "new tab" keeps running across the top of the page

Once I made Firefox my default browser, some of the documents saved on my desktop have the Firefox logo on them. When I opened the document, the top of the window has all of these "new tab" quickly and continuously running across the top, up to 131 before it stopped. So, how do I remove the logo from all of my documents?

If there is currently no file handler application that handles PDF files then the Firefox updater/installer registers Firefox as the default application to handle PDF files and thus they get a Firefox icon (Bug 452254).
You can right-click a PDF file in Windows Explorer and use the open with dialog to change the default application to the Adobe Reader or your preferred application to handle PDF file.
If the icon doesn't change to the icon of that application then you may have to change the icon on the desktop via other means.

Wouldn't be a handy update if at the top of the open Pages document, next to the Apple and Pages menu option, it showed the open document name or file name?

I'm not sure where the Apple and Pages menu option is. When I'm editing a document in iCloud Beta the name of the document is in the window caption (below).

When I try to print documents, they print out with everything shifted to the top of the page. I have tried cleaning and aligning the print head, and either did not change anything. I also tried to reset the printer by unplugging it, and that did not fix anything either. Thank you

Hi , I would like to be able to help you with your print jobs shifting but I have a few questions first. Is the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or a power bar? We want to connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. See this document for more information about Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector (Note: This document is not limited to Laserjet printers.)  Do you know if the same thing happens when you print the test report or do a copy?
I just want to make sure it's not something with the hardware itself.  Try to print a Printer Status Report to make sure that the hardware functions correctly.On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon (). The Setup menu displays.Touch Print Reports, and then touch Printer Status Report. The printer prints the report.

You could also make sure the printer has the current firmware updates installed. You can click on this link to learn how to Get Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8610.  If the hardware is working correctly, I would need to know the following to help you further;What program are you printing from?Have you tried printing from another program? You could also try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer software. It is possible that pieces of it may still remain that could interfere with a reinstall. I cannot get iTunes to open or play on my macbook pro. When I click on the icon it doesnt do anything..I get the icon on the top of the screen but the library wont open or show me anything

Well I figured it out, right click the arrow that makes the screen bigger and unclick the Hide Toolbar. I knew it couldn't be that hard.

When returning to a google search, Firefox takes me to the top of the page

I use Firefox exclusively as my browser. I also use Google as my default home page. I execute a google search, and am presented with a list of several pages of web sites. As I work my way through each of these sites, I wish to return to my search results and select the next item listed. When doing so, Firefox always returns me to the top of the list. I must then page down through the list and remember where I left off and select the next search item. Can this be fixed? Are my settings wrong? How can I prevent this?

When I click on a link it moves to the top of the page

I am new to this forum and fairly new to dreamweaver so I hope this isn't a silly question. I am designing a large number of web pages which will only be viewed on the C:\ drive and not posted on a server.
I have inserted hyperlinks on the index page linking to other pages in the same folder. I am using a css sheet to define each of the links.
Now to the problem. When I preview the index page in internet explorer and I click on a link the link works but the actual link itself moves to the top left corner of the index page.
An example of the html code is:

You have the body tag, followed by oodles of absolutely positioned elements, followed by naked links with a spurious </p> tag at the end. Not only are you not allowed to have naked links on the page (they must be contained in something like a <p>, or a <td>, or a <li>, etc.) but since the content above the links is entirely composed of absolutely positioned elements (which are removed from the normal flow), the links are exactly where they should be - at the top of the page. Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

When I sort by date added in Column View in Finder, how can I make the most recent files appear at the top of the list?(Mavericks)

In 10.8, when I sorted Finder by date added or date created in column view, the most recent files would appear at the top of the list. Currently, this happens as it should in every single view mode EXCEPT column view (which is pretty much the only view I ever use). Currently, I have a folder with over 2000 files in it that date back to 2011, so now I have to scroll for like ten minutes just te get to files that were most recently added. Who in their right mind would want to sort by last modified with the oldest result listed FIRST? Ridiculous. I can't figure this out. Any help?

Thanks for the reply leroydouglas! Unfurtunately this doesn't cause the column to be ordered correctly either. After selecting this option, the files seem to be ordered by label, and the most recently added file is somewhere in the middle of the list. I'd like it to be at the top, and have other files/folders descend in retrochronological order by their add date.
Any other input from the community would be greatly appreciated, even if it's just confirming that this is/is not expected behavior. I'd be super bummed to find out that this IS expected behavior, as it's really counterintuitive and extremely inconvenient.

When I open a link for another website Firefox opens a new tab but puts a line on the top of the new page saying that Firefox has blocked the website from transferring me to another page.
I have to press ALLOW before Firefox will open the new page.
How can I solve this problem.

If I am browsing on site such as Ebay or any shopping site, and click on an item, when I return to the search page I am once again at the top of the page and have to search down for where I was in the list of items.

This is not only on Ebay it is everywhere I search. Firefox goes back to the top of the page . It is annoying to have to figure out exactly where I was if I left the page and then returned. This is a hinderance when using Firefox. I have considered uninstalling it because of the inconvenience of 're-searching' after already doing a search. Firefox used to take me right back to where I was if I left a page, but that feature is not working now. I am not sure how to change this in the settings.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
