Sky App on X6

I've got the Sky App on my X6 (downloaded vis Sky page) and it has been working fine - now though when I try to connect to the Sky App I get the following message:
Failed to connect to network
Please check that you have selected the correct access point
Anyone able to help me out with this one?  I am able to access all other apps, internet and email etc

Thanks for the reply - you can't do anything with the app settings that I can find - as soon as you touch the icon it launches itself

  • Sky App won't accept login on main iPad but will on iPhone and other iPad

    I am unable to login to my Sky account on the Sky+ app on my iPad 2.  When I input my user name and password it seems to work, but going back into Settings, it still shows that I am not logged in.
    1) I can login OK on my iPhone and my other iPad 2 on the same app
    2) the iPad that won't work is a replacement for a faulty one that I just got yesterday
    3) I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, reseting the iPad etc.
    4) I have restored the iPad as a new device and then , the app works OK and I can login
    5) if I restore from a backup, then the app doesn't work
    6) I have also tried logging off from all other devices in case only 1 login is allowed, but that made no difference.
    The above suggests that I have some form of corruption in my backup, but I can't see why uninstalling/reinstalling the app wouldn't work.
    Anyone got any bright ideas apart from restoring as new and reinstalling all apps?

    Interesting - I am having the exact same problem on my iPhone4. I have restored the phone but restored it straight to a backup made a few minutes before restoring and the Sky app still does not work. I can login, but then when I go to settings it shows that I am not logged in, and if I try to record a programme the app just dies and I am returned to the springboard.
    I will try a full reset and manually reinstall apps and settings etc and see if that works...

    Thank you for your reply.  It is a Western Digital external USB 3.0 formatted for PC.  It includes pics, videos, music, documents, power point, etc.  would it still just be a drag and drop?

  • Sky app and bt hub4

    I have just been connected with the BT Hub 4. I am having a slight problem with connecting my sky app with my sky box. I have been advised this because the bthub4 is set to 5ghz instead of 2.4!
    I should say the box and app do not connect sometimes but not always.
    As anyone come across this issue?

    the home hub 4 works on both2.4ghz and 2.4ghz simultaneously so should have no effect which sky app is not working

  • Sky+ app: Not as good as Android app?

    My wife has just installed the Sky+ app on her tablet, which has an Android OS. She gets the option to Record Series, whereas I get only Record Once. Any other user able to advise me please?

  • Tv from Sky app won't work on ps3

    The tv sky app crashes my PS3 every time I try to run it. I've installed it a number of times but each time with the same result.
    When I launch the app the screen goes black and the hdd light flashes for a few seconds then the screen remains black and te PS3 becomes unresponsive.
    Is anyone else having the same problem? Or know a fix. Cheers.

    Every time I use the app when I am finished I get 3 beeps the my PS3 just crashes I have 2 ps3s and it's the same for both any ideas on how to fix this I reset one PS3 back to factory and tried it and still the same result

It all streams..The PS3 is a primary Fixed in place device to a Large and unmobile HDTV screen normaly, With mains connection for both required... LOL The app can not be used with out a internet connection,..It Dails Home to verifiy and pair your PSN ID and SKY ID.... every time... And won't work once the PSN cookie data is invalid, it then dials home again to get another PSN cookie to pair to your Sky ID... (Which is why people could not use it yesterday... if there cookie was invalid)

    TV out only works with the apps that support TV out,  You have to look at the description of the apps you want to use to check to see if they support TV out.  Some do not use TV out at all and some only on some models like the 4G.

    Hi, I'm trying to register Sky on my XBox 360 and I get an error message telling me 'You need to be Sky TV customer with Sky Go EXTRA to watch Sky on your console'. I have Sky Go, not Sky Go Extra and the Sky website tells me that this is sufficient to register 2 devices.     Like the message says, to use Sky Go on Xbox360 (or TV from Sky on the PS3/PS4) you need to subscribe to Sky Go Extra.
    Sky Go Extra is £5 per month (or free to multiscreen subscribers) and allows 2 additional registered devices (total of 4, any two in use at one time), downloads for offline viewing and console devices.
    It has been this way for some time now, the only "free" devices are PC, Mac, Android and iOS devices.

  • Sky+ android app cannot find Sky HD box

    Can anyone help?  Since switching to BT and using the Home Hub 3 my Sky+ app on my android tablet cannot find my Sky HD box on my network.  The Sky HD box has a wired connection (via a switch and Home Plug).  The tablet obviously connects wirelessly.  Sky Tech Support cannot offer any solution.  The Zeebox app running on the same tablet can connect and switch channels reliably so it is not a physical connection problem.  Very frustrating......

    Same problem with my iPad, using a Home hub 3. I have also noticed that after time my Airplay printer cannot be found. Only solutions I have found are I) to reset the Sky box internet connection(works sometimes) or ii) reboot the router ( seems to consistently work). Very frustrating and given it is happening with two different pieces of kit, clearly a router problem.

    My iPad will only recognise one HD box despite the fact I have 2. Initially it recognised both, but now can't find one box. Both active. Have tried uninstalling sky + app and reinstalling but no difference. Any ideas?

    You'd plug the HDMI cable from the Apple TV into the receiver as you do all the other devices, if you don't have enough HDMI ports then you'd need an HDMI switch. (a quick search reveals your receiver has 3 HDMI inputs)

    Re: Sky Go & iOS 8.3 Crashing: sky app developer peeps - I really hope below helps you sort out these bugs: -          Where, when, how and what occurs?When using 3G (on train with signal most of the time) I start Sky Go> open downloads> and press any of my downloads. The video plays for about 6 secs, then crashes and sends me back to iOS apps homepage. Then i try it again, go to start the same video,  The screen goes black with just X in top right. I have to force quit the app. grrr. I try again. Then after a third time, i get lucky and the video starts playing. i never get any fault codes. Sometimes if the black screen with X top right happen twice, i try it all again and the app sky go homepage upon re start up is magnified 300% and placed into the top right, leaving only a quarter crop of the whole app interface available to view. This is just mental only viewing a quarter of the interface and video to view! Also on the app 'catchup' page with the scroll down categories underneath the main feature carousel - only scrolls half way from 'ITV ...to...Dave. you cannot view what is below that all the way to nick Jr. Only by flicking the above feature carousel righstt and then back left, can you then access the entire catch up category list. -          How often does it occur?the crash symptoms occur Every time. I launch and sometimes it takes several attempts to get Sky Go working. -          Which device are you using?iPhone 5S -          Which OS is your device on?iOS 8.3 -          Is the issue recoverable ? If so, what did you have to do?Relaunching the app several times, or sometimes restarting the phone. On 2 occasions this year i've had to delete the app, restart phone and re install.  Again, i hope you guys can iron these bugs out. The skygo content is great.     I'm not endorsing anything - just asking if anyone has used it and moreso - how does it work?  My YouView isn't an "account", I don't login to it, so how do I record from my phone, and it record it on my box at home?

    I use it with my business and love it.  Must leave the "remote" computer on at all times if you want to access.  Great when traveling.  And yes, you can work in any program as if you were sitting at your desk regardless of what it it is, access files, programs, etc...  There is some lag at times but you can do what you need.  At least that is my experience.

    yes thanks for that confirmation, I had noticed the sky+app is now much better than the TV app, but how soon will they wreck that as well! And one doesn't always have a device with the sky+app handy.
    I appreciate that as TV software is is quite good, it is just so annoying when they think they have made improvements that are worse (see my other recent posts).

  • Podcast App- not as good as before?

    I listen to a LOT of podcasts. And some of them are long ones. Boring, educational-type podcasts, lol.
    But now that I've been switched over to the new APP things don't work as well.
    I used to listen to my educational podcasts at "double speed." But now the "fast" setting is only"1.5x or 2x". The 1.5 isn't as fast as before, and the 2x is too fast.
    Hmmm. Okay.
    Double-clicking-and-holding my headest mic used to fast-forward pretty darn fast. But now, the FF is a lot slower. Which makes it painful to use.
    But, most importantly, the new Podcast App doesn't allow for CHAPTERS!!!
    Before, if I didn't want to listen to a section, or a lecture in a series, i would simply "double click" my mic (or push the "next track" button) and, bam! I'd be at the beginning of the next section/chapter.
    Now that doesn't work! I have to take out my iPhone and SCRUB to the next section. Which is totaly blind.
    I like the little "reel-to-reel" thingy, but it doens't work that well for knowing where you are in a podcast.
    Grrrrrr.
    I don't mind the idea of separating podcasts into their own app. And I like the additional functionality. But LOSING THE PREVIOUS FUNCTIONALITY in the process is not cool.
