Sky Go - device registration limit hit by renaming a device

Hi  I tried to register my wife's new tablet to sky-go however I was unable to do so as 4 devices were already registered.  The manage device feature said that I could remove a device, however the devices were all named the same with the difference of an additional number.  So I removed all the devices and wanted to re-register them but renaming as I did so.  However once I registered one of the devices and renamed it, I can not register any more devices.  I now have 3 free spaces which I can not use for another month.  No where on the mange device page did it warn me of this problem. Can you please rectify this error so that I can make full use of my SkyGo package.

We are only allowed to register one device per calander month so you will be able to register a second one tomorrow.

  • Will Sky remove device change limit during Windows 10 migration?

    Hi, does anybody know if Sky will remove the device  change limit for this month? just upgraded all machines in the house to Windows 10 and it looks like now it ill take 4 months to get the deviecs all registered again, which is not user friendly and show poor planning on Sky's behalf as well as mie for not doing a simple test. Cheers

    I had the same frustration as you and came on here to ask the same question. My frustration was then multiplied because 'super users' kept telling me it's not Sky's fault.
    I can confirm I've spoken to Sky at some length about this. Firstly they do support Win10, contrary to what some of the super-users say. Secondly, they can remove limits and they did for me and many other people. Like you I lost use of Sky Go on updated devices but within a few days I managed to get them all restored.
    Win10 isn't broken and Sky Go works perfectly with Win10. The only issue is that of the upgrade to Win10 seeing it as a new separate device which isn't a technical fault as such and only became an issue because Sky have a monthly limit.
    As I say, Sky recognise that and have lifted the limit for many. Your biggest frustration will be getting someone in customer services who's helpful and willing. Good luck.

    for that you have to go to settings - Mal contacts and calanders and you will see your account, Select your account that keep popin up for your password, select account under the accounts your will see DELETE ACCOUNT, Delete that account and Add it again. It will worked!!

  • Ultrasearch TimeOut: limit hits results in query API

    Hello,
    We are encountered a Time Out error while searching for specific words in our query portlet (base an the Ultrasearch Query Sample). We are unable to change the Timeout value (no effect when changing it in provider.xml or in the Ultrasearch Administration > Query > Configuration panel).
    Where can we change this value? Is it possible to limit the time taken by Ultrasearch to process the result? Can we limit the hits results in our Query/Instance object in the Java API?

    I have the same issue - my intention is to contruct an XML from within search results, so toXML() would be the easiest way, but however nobody in the Search API Javadoc wrote what it SHOULD return (i.e. DTD or Schema describing an XML).

  • Sky go devices

    try to watch sky go on pc and it always registers my computer over and over again. i just removed pc3 and pc4?  My brothers computer doesnt show in the list never has, and he can use sky go fine?  and now only my ps3 is registered so 3 empty slots but i still cannot use my pc as it now wont let me register?

    If it is registering it as a new device everytime you use it then this might be the file that is stored on it so that sky go can recognise your computer, is being removed for some reason. If you run a program that clears out your files then this would cause this so have a read of this:

    Hallo zusammen,
    Photoshop CS3 war auf Rechnern installiert, die nicht mehr existieren.
    Die Deinstallationen erolgten ohne Deaktivierung, da mirnicht bekannt, odr bewusst war, dass sies erfolgen muss.
    Telefonische Aktivierung gibt es nicht mehr, und bei den weiteren Möglichkeiten dreht man sich im Kreis, weil man immer auf den gleichen Seiten landet, die nicht weiterhelfen.
    Über den CHat erfolgt auch keine Antwort.
    Weiß jemand noch eine weitere Lösung?

  • Device registration is awful!

    I am Sky Multiscreen customer so I have 4 available slots for sky go devices but I only use 2. I removed a xbox from the 3rd slot yesterday as we no longer have that xbox Anyway I was using Sky go fine yesterday on my laptop then earlier today I updated my laptop from windows 8 to windows 8.1...now it says my device is not registered and I cannot register it because I have made 1 change this month! It is the exact same laptop that I used yesterday!! The fact you can only make 1 change a month is honestly pathetic and very amatuerish from Sky if people cannot even update their laptop without it unregistering them...I have tried to contact Sky but was on hold for nearly 40 minutes so put the phone down.. Is there anything I can do to fix this other than wait?

    Sadly there isn't anything you can do and even if you get through to speak to someone to be surprised if Sky say they can't do anything as they are usually quite strict in sticking to the one device registration per month rule.
    On the flip side the next month starts on Wednesday so if they do say they can't do anything you only have a few days to wait.

    OK, that is very telling as USB tethering has very few requirements and in most environments works rought out of the box.
    Here the main things to check:
    Is the Lync User's Telephony setting set to Enterprise Voice?  This is a requirement to use Lync Phone Edition (the
    Line URI does not need to be populated).
    Time Server issues can also prevent sign-in.  If a Time Server is not provided via DHCP or DNS SRV then the phone will fallback to connecting to
    time.windows.com, so if the phone does not have Internet access or NTP traffic is blocked at a firewall, then this could be your problem as well.
    Obvious, but worth pointing out: make sure the phone is connected to Ethernet and receiving a basic DHCP lease (IP, subnet, gateway, DNS, etc).  USB tethering does not work unless the device is also connected to Ethernet.

  • Can't register with CWM on device

    Hi,
    I've been trying to register my 5800XM (latest firmware) with CWM Australia for days now, but I just can't get it to work. I've tried both the house WLAN (which the phone is correctly set up for - no problems web browsing/VoIP/podcasts/etc) and 3G as the net connection.
    I run the "Nokia Musi Store" app on the phone, and  get a browser-like screen where I select my country (Australia). It then does one of two things:
    1) most of the time, it does nothing for several seconds and then pops up "Music Store: Unable to perform operation"
    2) much less frequently, it instead goes to a screen where I can enter information including the CWM PIN. If I then press "Join", it rejects anything I got wrong (eg. non matching password fields) and I have to do it again. If I didn't get anything wrong, though, it just does nothing for a few seconds (the 'Join' button is inaccessable during this), then the Join button comes back, but absolutely nothing else changes - no error message, no new screen, no UI changes at all in fact - it just looks like I never pressed "Join".
    And because of this, I'm not going to be able to register within the 2 month limit (phone was a present, so sat with someone else for a while) despite starting well in time.
    This is just not acceptable. And I won't even go into all the other problems I've had with both Nokia device and PC software in the last months. Suffice to say I'm a software developer, and I'd be embarrased if it were me.
    Does anyone know a Nokia number in Australia where I can get someone to sort this out?

    Still no call back by Wednesday Feb 24th so tried calling them again (1300 366 733 #4 #2).
    Got through the menu system, the "we are very busy - consider calling back later" warning, and the lengthy queue wait to a man who was impossible to understand (partly because of the extremely **bleep** call quality).
    I explained I called three days ago and hadn't received the promised "24-48hr" follow up call. He asked for the case reference number,  which of course I was neither given nor knew about. No problem, he found it from my return phone number. He went off to check, put me on hold, and I'm cut off. I waited 15 mins for a callback (he knew my number after all) but nothing.
    So I called again. After another "we are very busy - consider calling back later" warning, and a lengthy queue wait I got a woman, who was a bit easier to understand. She looked me up from my phone number and found the problem report.
    After putting me on hold for a few minutes, she very unsurely informed me that Comes With Music in Australia was "having a system update" and "not working at the moment".
    I didn't believe that. I'd been having the same problems with the same behaviour, whether trying to register on the device or PC, for several weeks. Nothing ever seemed any different. I had once got a message about CWM/Ovi Music not being online when running Ovi Player, but not recently.
    Furthermore I had, at one point last Sunday, tried another "clean" PC and phone just to see what happened. That is, I installed Ovi Music, connected up another 5800XM (a UK one, that time) and tried to register. That time it did actually do something, for once, returning with an error message that the connected phone wasn't a CWM device (true). But as soon as I went back to my own PC/phone, it behaved exactly the same again. Even after a complete reinstall.
    So I asked how long it had been offline for, but she "didn't have access to that information". I asked how long it was going to be offline for, she ddidn't have access to that information either. I asked if she could confirm it had been offline since the previous Sunday, same answer.
    I gave my reasons why it didn't seem a likely explaination to me, but was told she couldn't help and I should continue to wait for the "12 to 24 hour" elevated support return call, however long it took. I expressed doubt I'd get one at all, and reiterated my concern about the 2 month CWM registration limit, and got a vague (and hardly confidence inspiring) "oh that'll be alright".
    So I will continue to wait. I might do some googling to see if this problem is related to the 40.0.005 firmware version, which both phones were upgraded to as I've found that that creates all sorts of other problems.

    When the location appliance reaches the maximum number of tracking devices of 2500 what happens next???
    It stops collecting information for new devices?
    It deletes information for older devices hence allowing tracking of new devices?
    Stops working all together??

    I am not sure if this would answer your query, but this is what I managed to find -
    The location appliance can track up to 2,500 elements. You can track the following elements: client stations, active asset tags and rogue clients and access points.Updates on the locations of elements being tracked are provided to the location server from the Cisco wireless LAN controller.
    Only those elements designated for tracking by the controller are viewable in Cisco WCS maps, queries and reports. No events and alarms are collected for non-tracked elements and they are not used in calculating the 2,500 element limit.
    You can modify the following tracking parameters using Cisco WCS:
    •Enable and disable which element locations (client stations, active asset tags; and rogue clients and access points) you actively track
    •Set limits on how many of a specific element you want to track
    You can set limits on how many of a specific element you wish to track. For example, given a limit of 2,500 trackable units, you could set a limit to track only 1,500 client stations. Once the tracking limit is met, the number of elements not being tracked is summarized on the Tracking Parameters page.
    •Disable tracking and reporting of ad hoc rogue clients and access points

    In addition to this I found a resolved issue in release 3.0.37.0 -
    CSCse76683-Previous to this release, once the 2,500 limit of supported elements for the location appliance was met, no new location calculations were reported for any element beyond the 2,500 limit. Location calculations were reported once an element within the recognized 2,500 elements aged out. This condition occurred even when polling was turned "off."
    Symptom:
    The location calculation is not happenning for some of the elements. There are ERROR events saying 'Location limit hit, can not add any more location elements'. Even if the polling is turned OFF for the type of element that are too many, the location is not calculated for new elements.

    I have a site with 292 html files in 2 different directories.
    - I select the folder i want to rename and hit F2 (rename)
    - I change the folder name.
    - DW ask me if i want to update the links and i say yes.
    - DW churns for 40 minutes before i finally interrupt it
    (Windows task manager says it is not responding)
    - Only a few of the links are change (14 of many thousands).
    Are there any known problems in this area?
    Any suggestions?
    edited to say - i have tried this multiple times and
    occasionally get a sharing violation on a "tmp" file.

    Enabling the site cache in your site settings should speed up
    these
    site-wide operations,
    can you try recreating the site cache from the Site menu?

    You are going to have to turn OFF Wifi on the Sky router device so its just a modem.
    String an Ethernet cable off of the Sky router to an Apple Airport/Time Capsule device and have that create a stable WiFi network.
    Using WDS protocols you can now add additional Apple Airport expresses as needs be to extend the Wifi signal area.
    In theory you should able to extend an existing network however inter-operability between differing manufacturers is flaky at best.
    Caveat using extenders Will degrade the performance of your network.
    So its going to be more expensive - Need Two Airport devices and you my need support in creating the network (you may have to log in to the Sky provided routers advanced settings in the Java Control Panel and from a web browser to turn off features such as Wifi and IP addressing)
    You may be better contacting Sky as they may actually have a compatible network extender (BT certainly do for their Home Broadband routers) available.

    My sky go app randomly stopped working the other week. And hasn't worked since. I've always watched it on my Xbox 360 and never had this issue before. I've tried Clearing the cache, deleting and reinstalling the app but i'm still getting the same problem. When i try watching live tv on the sky app or watch demand it says:"Sorry, Sky Video Playout service isn't available right now. Please try again later. For more information, go to www.xbox.com/status" I'm out of idea's on how i'm supposed to fix it. I have sky extra and the device is still added onto my sky go devices. I'd appreciate the help.     I have sorted it!   when i went on to storage settings, the internal drive needed formatting.  The app had been saved onto the external drive.  Any video (TV) apps need to be saved on internal drive!! I reformatted the drive then deleted the app off the external drive, before reinstalling it onto the internal drive.  Did this for Netflix too which had also stopped working properly. Hope this helps and solves your problem too

The algorithm for all these Vis should run in background, while the front panel of only that vi (one at a time) whichever is called from menu of Main.vi should be visible to user, removing other FPs from memory.
    The way I am doing this is attached here. I am not sure whether I am doing it correctly.....Or are there any better ways to achieve this?
    Second problem I am facing is when A is open and I try to open B from Main.vi then; A is going backward. I have tried with subpanel option, but in that case close Fp option is not working........can any one suggest ways to solve this problem? You may modify and repost my code (Ver. 7.1 if not then .jpg )
    Please rename the attached file to .rar and then extract if .zip is not working.
