Sky+ HD light flickers on sky hub even though connected to sky+ hd box

Everything is suggested as OK on the settings of the sky box but on the sky hub the hd light is on for a few minutes then turns off then turns on again? Suggestions?

Ok thanks it's just a bit annoying because I don't know wether it will be working or not.

Try rebooting the ipad by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo. It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.

No internet access even though connected!?

I have a new iMac 17" Intel (new to Mac's as well) but I can't connect to the internet.
My adsl provider is Tiscali and they use dynamic IP address which I believe makes things trickier. I've got a D-link DSL-300t router to connect via Ethernet.
After much head banging I think I have the router configured correctly. I plug in a web page and it goes part way there( eg. in google the search line comes us occasionally but the rest of the page doesn't load.)
The ADSL light on the router blinks nearly all the time although occasionally it stays solid.
Is this a line problem or is there an issue with the router or the Mac.
Any ideas would be greatfully recieved

the dynamic or 'server assigned' ip is not a problem
some people have found that the dns server addresses ( you entered these in the router setup?) must also be entered in system preferences-network-ethernet-tcp/ip- DNS servers ( even though it says optional)
is there a 'test connection' facility in your router setup? - if so, use this & report any errors that this shows.

Adobe Reader makes me sign-in even though the STAY SIGNED IN box is checked.

I love the idea that I can view a document on my PC and as long as I'm signed-in I can later view it on my hand held device. But even though I check the STAY SIGNED IN box, whenever I close out of the program then come back I have to re-sign-in. Why won't Adobe keep me signed in as requested?

I run Kaspersky and will have to study whether it is responsible for the problem. Under its Protection Center / Application Control there are a lot of Adobe listings and then a lot of things to look at there; many of which I do not understand. So, you may be on to something Pat; but if anyone knows specifically what I should look at in Kaspersky (or elsewhere) to determine if a specific setting is eating my Adobe cookies ... I would appreciate the guidance where to look and how to fix.

Error: synced with another library even though connected to same computer

Hi Guys,
Annoying problem that has just happened since upgrade to i-tunes 7.x.
Intermittently my shuffle looses its affinity to my i-tunes library, i-tunes is now asking me to erase and sync even though my shuffle has not been sleeping around with other USB ports.
this is now the 2nd time this has happened and I am not looking forward to setting up all my songs again.
Been in IT for years but this is my first time with trying to enjoy some IT.

This message comes up whenever you are wishing to sync to a new computer or a new iTunes library. If you wish to continue with syncing with this new computer, you will probably want to follow the steps to download your purchased items on the iPhone into your computer:

Help Acrobat Pro XI will only print to "all files" even though printers show up in box

I have acrobat pro XI and now even though my functioning printer(s) show up in the box where you chose the printer you want to use, matter what i chose it always tries to save the print job as an"all files" format. The printers are fine they work with everything else. It is strange no matter what I pick all it wants to do is save as an "all files" file. Anyone have any ideas??

Make sure the “print to file” option is deselected in the “Advanced” options of the print dialog.

JDBC messages processed even though connection was down

Hi,
We have an XI to JDBC flow.
A couple of days ago the database to which the JDBC connection goes was down, but all messages that the system tried to send to this database appear as processed in SXMB_MONI. Only the acknowledgement contains following error:
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Error when attempting to get processing resources: com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:as400://192.168.197.10:446/WMSLIB': SQLException: The application requester cannot establish the connection. (connect timed out)
This is very annoying since we can't reprocess the messages with status "processed", even though they are not processed at all.
Any ideas?

Above error message comes when your JDBC channel trying to connect to Data base,but connection not established ,because Connection was down.
in this case none of the messages will be processed.

Internet stops working even though connected?

So I've been having this problem for about a week or so now...my internet will be fine and connected and then suddenly it stops working even though it still says it's connected to the network. Then I just turn my airport off and then back on and it works again. It only happens on my computer, all the other computers/laptops in the house are working fine...any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it???

what kind of router? i am having same issue sometimes. i have linksys wrt54gs and im connected to router, but no internet, but everyone else in the house is on windows and gets internet connection.

HP DV5 Laptop- Speaker indicator light staying orange (red?) even though speakers are on.

Speaker indicator light says speakers are off when they are on. I want them on, just want the light to say they' re on.

You didn't say which Operating System you are using, so I am posting links for both Windows 7 and for Vista.

You may have to do a bit of "homework" to get this going again, or it may be that a setting is just switched off. Take a look at the help document that matches your Operating System and follow the suggestions to Troubleshoot and fix your sound.

In iTunes, go into your account info (So, click your ID in the upper right corner of the store pane)
Look at your orders. At the bottom of the recent orders page is "report a problem".

My itunes doesn't save new music files to the itunes media folder, even though I have ticked the box in the preferences telling it do so...???

Ok so, my itunes version is up to date, and I've located my itunes media folder... However, newly purchsed songs are not being backed up to the media folder, despite all the right options being ticked in the preferences box. This is immensly frustrating as I cannot back up my itunes library to a separate hard drive. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

iTunes stores media in the location set in preferences. If you have changed things then this won't necessarily be the same place it puts the library file and other files that also need to be backed up.
If you are content to have everything in one location then I suggest you consolidate it all into one place. Note this copies files, it doesn't move them, so you need ot make sure you have sufficient hard drive space wherever you select.

Technically you don't have to have it all in one location to back up. You just need to make sure you have gotten everything. I used to have iTunes on two separate drives but I would just make sure each drive was backed up 100% and I would know it was all backed up.

Windows 7 desktop and laptop browsers stopped working even though connected to internet

I have Fios connection for more that a year and I have ActionTec router. Yesterday 2 of windows 7 devices stopped working on the browsers . None of the browsers IE, Chrome, Firefox work on these machines.
I know the internet is connected as I can see ip addresses using ipconfig and use ftp to remote machines. I also see downloads for autoupdates are working as network panels show downloads going on.
I have Kaspersky and it shows no virs activity.
On network panel it shows devices are connected to the router. I also tried wired connection but browsers on win 7 are not working.
I have tried winsock reset, ipconfig /renew and netip reset as some of users have sggested. I have also tried sing 8.8.8.8 with 8.8.4.4 but still same issue.

I'd go into internet options and under connections tab and check if a proxy was added.
commonplace now a days for malware and virus's to add proxy settings that divert your traffic, and unintended consequence is that you lose your connection when they are done siphoning whatever it was they were trying to get.
With a proxy server configured, you will still be able to ping outbound, and tcp udb functions will work fine like downloads and ftp, and torrents, but anything that requires a domain may get invalid responses when their server goes offline.

You can open the about:config page via the location bar and do a search for ask.com via the Filter at the top of that page. 
You can reset all ask.com related prefs via the right-click context menu to their default values.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Firewire device not showing up in finder, even though connected

I have a device (Tascam hd-p2) connected to my firewire 800 port on my macbook pro. It has information on a cf card that I would like to access. The device shows up in the bus on system profiler, but it doesn't show up in my sidebar in finder, on my desktop, or anywhere that I can find it. How can I get to my information? Thanks

What version of Mac OS X? (Your profile says "iOS 6", but that's not a Mac operating system.)
Assuming you are running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, set either or both of the following:
Finder > Preferences > General > Show these items on the desktop: > External disks
Finder > Preferences > Sidebar > Show these items in the sidebar: > DEVICES > External disks
