Sky Overcharged
So I've just gotten off speaking on the phone to the clueless although sincere Sky Agent. I have Sky TV + Phone Line + Free BB. The Sky TV subscription is Family with Sports half price. I cancelled my Sky TV subscription last month and it cuts on the 12th of this month. Looking at my bill I'm being charged from the 8th July to 7th August. A) Why am I being charged for a full month of TV I will not watch? The clueless agent tells me it's because I am being charged a month in advance and for the 4 days that I will have TV past the 8th July, that's what I will be charged for and the remainder credited back. BUT, he can't tell me for sure because he doesn't have access to next months bill? WHAT? I told him I'll ring back on the 13th, one day after my line is cut, 4 days after the bill B) I was charged the full amount for the TV. Why? Even the agent noted I have half price til December, now I that I've cancelled not only am I being overcharged I'm getting charged the full amount? C) Due to this blunder by Sky, with them charging me for a whole month AND the incorrect amount (£30 more) my direct debits for all of my other bills and payments have been missed, some incurring fines. How is that fair? Where do I stand on this? Disclaimer: I understand no sky agents can provide help on here, I've already spoken to an agent who really didn't explain anything to me other than phone the day after the subscription ends, I'm looking to see if any other community members/Sky customers have been in a similar situation and how it was rectified.
Will they charge me the discounted rate or charge me the normal subscription rate.
Why did they surprisingly spring on me the full subscription rate rather than the discounted rate I've had been paying for? All the times I've cancelled they've never charged the FULL subscription rate, the discounted rate as normal and then refund if necessary. This surprise has caused me to miss my other DD's

One drive (sky drive) for sharepoint 2013
Looking for support on the one drive: referenced here:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2903984
We have Sharepoint 2013 and would like to use the sky drive (one drive)..
We don't use Office 2013, but Office 2010
I found the link to the download of onedrive.
The download name was:
Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR.exe
I am trying to send the one drive out to all our computers at our business to be used with Sharepoint 2013.
The downloaded install doesn't appear to be a standalone install. I opened up a command line.
put Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR.exe /?
This gives the following output.
Usage:
SETUP mode [path to configuration file]
SETUP /download [path to configuration file]
SETUP /configure [path to configuration file]
SETUP /packager [path to configuration file] [output path]
SETUP /help [path to configuration file]
/download Downloads files to create an Office16 installation source
/configure Adds, removes, or configures an Office16 installation
/packager Produces an Office App-V package from an Office installation source
/help - Prints this message
I tried the Setup.x86.en-us_GrooveRetail_3V9N8-W93CC-FQPB8-Y9WVF-TVGJ3_TX_PR.exe /download
This supposedly will download files needed to create an office16 installation source. I don't want an office16 installation source, but I want the onedrive stanalone installer.
The command didn't download any files.
So does anyone know how to deploy the onedrive to multiple computers. Make note we don't have office 2013 any reference to trying to create a custom install for it useless because we don't have the product.
Please help.
Adam J.Do you know where to find the .msi? I have the above .iso extracted. If I run groovemui.msi I get the following error:
Error 1713: Setup cannot install one of the required products for Microsoft GrooveMUI (English) 2013.
Thanks!
EDIT: I am also trying to install ODfB standalone on top of Office 2010.
Hi vmanning,
you will need to use the setup.exe (found in the Office2013 ISO) - you can't just use the MSI for groove (ODfB).
You will need to create a customisation of the Office2013 (either MSPfile, or config.xml), to set the feature states as you wish (i.e. ODfB=runfrommycomputer(Local), and everything else=notavailable(Absent))

Also, note that there is a bug in the Office2013+SP1 ISO, so to avoid this bug, use the original Office2013RTM ISO; refer:

Phone line taken over by SKY without my consent ! ...
Yesterday I woke up to find my phone and broadband was not working.
I called BT customer service, to my surprise they told me that my account has been ceased because SKY has taken it over. I never asked SKY to take my services or BT to terminate my account.
How BT can act irresponsibly?
How BT can be such a irresponsible to terminate the services without getting confirmation from me? Is this not a kind of joke? Did they check any security questions, even the phone number to terminate the service? Can any other company call BT and take over my services? This is the most absurd service I have ever came across.
Big question mark for Sky:
How SKY can ask BT to stop services when he is not authorized to do so? Did they get owner (in this case my) permission to do so? Did they check any ID of the person who asked to do so? Can I call them to get anybody's service terminated ?
Now I do not want to change my phone number at any cost, so first thing was re-order from BT. New installation date is set to be 21st Oct.
I just got call from BT that my ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELLED because line belong to SKY now.
WHERE TO GO NOW???????????????????????????????????
CALLING FROM MOBILE ................................... BECAUSE NO OTHER PHONE

There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.
BT Broadband customers - help with broadband, WiFi, networking, e-mail and phones. -
Sky Sports 1 and 2 and BT in general - Absolutely ...
I would like to start by stating this will be a bit of an essay but I hope anyone who opens this thread up takes the time and consideration to read and takes it on-board, I am particurlarly aiming that at prospective BT customers who may be here to consider taking up a contract with BT, I strongly urge you to NOT DO THIS and to use my experience as the leading reason why.
We have been BT customers since we moved into our current property back in 2003, we have the current full package on offer, BT Infinity, with the Sky Sports and ESPN upgrades and the full On Demand and Broadband services. We have experienced numerous problems over the past three to four years with connectivity issues. The broadband drops in and out all the time, it's hard to put a level of consistency on this but on some days it can drop out 25-30 times, it can happen a lot at the weekend some weeks or weekdays on the others or both, the timing varies, it doesn't appear to be reflective of particurlar weather conditions, not that this should really matter anyway but we've been investigating all possible lines of enquiry as to why the problems keep happening, by my calculation we've had 18 engineers out to visit the property, I myself, and this does not include the other numerous phone calls made by fellow family members, have called and reported the problem to BT at least 50 times in this time period, I've taken days off work to wait for engineers, I've unplugged and reset my hub more times than I care to remember, we've had the hub itself replaced four times, the Vision box replaced twice, the lines re-routed through our house twice and more e-mails and letters than I reckon President Barack Obama sends in one year in office!
And so far, to date, and I am talking about in the last five days, the problem still exists! The only way to get the connection back is to turn the hub off and back on again, or use the reset button, which we all know disrupts the hub and often results in further faults down the line, I would love to not have to do this but given we're paying for 24/7 internet access I should not have to sit around waiting, in most cases, up to 3-4 hours for the signal to return to the hub by itself (I know, I've timed it, something else I've wated much of my own time doing). The lights don't flash or change colour on the hub either when this problem occurs (the hub should register lack of connection, with the lights going from blue to either flashing blue or, in most cases, red, just for the record they stay blue but we have used various devices in this house ranging from state-of-the-art, brand-new laptops to tablets to i-phones to desktops and the problem occurs the same for everyone so before I get one of the many excuses I've already had from BT that it's a potential "device problem" you can forget that one, been there, done that!).
I have urged, and urged, and urged the engineers, the people I speak to one the phone, the personal advisors our case has been passed on too, to look at potential problems outside our property i.e. the exchange. This has been rebuffed time and time again. "It's not the problem sir, the problem is here sir, the problem is not our fault sir" etc. etc. etc. Well, guess what....
We've just received a phone call informing us that, from June 10th in our area, due to issues with the exchange being able to hold the signal, Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 2 will no longer be avaliable on our BT package. As huge cricket fans, from a personal perspective, first off, this is infuriating. The person we spoke too also claimed Sky have "pulled the plug" on the package so, also, I'm a little confused as too which is the actual issue here resulting in the loss of Sky Sports? That you've known all along that there has been problem in my local area with the exchange and the signal it can hold, or that Sky have pulled the rights to their sports package? Or perhaps that you spent £757 million recently on a new TV rights package for Premiership football for two new BT Sports channels (those ones you see currently advertised, on, of all channels, Sky Sports 1 and 2!) and actually are just quite happy to cut customers out who have lined your pockets with substantial monthly fees for programming you knew full well didn't work when you first signed contracts with Sky to pick it up, and then distributed to customers? Are you seriously telling me after, by my calculation, three years, you didn't know Sky Sports 1 and 2 didn't work in my local area, yet carried on debiting bank accounts, advertising the channels, supplying them and then, now, with less than a month's notice, you've pulled the plug? That takes me right back to the title of my message - absolutely disgraceful.
I should make it clear at this point we have experienced problems with BT Vision too, albeit not lately, thank God, although that is not to say the problems wouldn't return. Signal dropping in and out, screen crackling and dropping out, black screens frequently on SS1, SS2 and ESPN etc. As for the On Demand service, that is obviously effected by the hub signal dropping in and out, the Vision box also does not appear to correlate with the hub when the signal returns and remains offline for a further amount of time, even when it is disconnected and then reconnected. It is constantly buffering too when the signal is low. Also, one other, far more minor point, you've been advertising 'red button coming soon' now for about three months!? I don't know what your definition of 'coming soon' is, but it's not the same as mine I can assure you, and I'm willing to bet quite a few others too!
Can you give me a good reason why I shouldn't report you too Trading Standards for misleading and false advertising? For 3 years you've been selling us a Sky Sports package you know full well won't work properly in our local area, I don't blame you for Sky's monpoly on sport, but perhaps you can explain to me why you've given two answers that completely contradict each other to the future dealings with Sky Sports in our local area? Why have you not addressed the issues with the exchange for our connectivity problems, despite the fact your now claiming it is what is probably attributed to causing our issues with the two sports channels? Also, I have worked in customer service jobs and I know people wind the heck out of you on some days, but a significant portion of your "customer advisors" are rude and ignorant. You ring the freephone number, your on hold for half-a-century, you get put through to the call-centre in Bombay and you are treated with contempt, I actually feel sorry for the people who work out there, they are clearly reading from a script and lack in clear English Language skills, which is not their fault, it's yours. As for anyone who takes dispute with that, go and ask them a question next time like "how is your day?" They won't answer, they can't, it's not on their call sheet. The few I have dealt with who have clear use of the language are, as I said, rude and ignorant, often accusing me, quite clearly, of lying and of having not reported the problem, for me then to find out a later date when I speak to the technical deparment and to BT Openreach (and yes, I know they are two seperate companies) that date is not transferred correctly between the two which is why whoever you speak too in the call-centre usually only has a last referral point for you from some years ago, it's also quite clearly a deflection manouvre to keep you away from actually getting your problem resolved, paying Openreach to dispatch engineers if required and so you don't clog up the minimal amount of contactable phone numbers for the average customer that are based in the UK.
Failure to receive a suitable and acceptable answer to my queries will result in me having no other option but to consider taking the matter further, I am also inclined now to make it my work between now and the date of June 10th to persuade everyone I know and they know to stay as far away from your company as possible and the "services" you claim to provide.
Also, as huge cricket, and for that matter, NFL fans, maybe you should consider that many sports-viewers in this country aren't just about football. Yes I know that's where the money lies but there is profit to be made from other sports ventures too, I don't think you realize just how many fans you are leaving out in the cold over this move, the whole reason we, and we are just one example, subscribed to the Sky Sports package was for the cricket, and for the NFL. Two sports that are entirely monopolized by Sky, yes I realize, as I state earlier, that's not your fault, but why don't you show a bit of interest in them then? Why don't you be slightly different, you have over £700 million to spend on Premiership football but little else? If you want to attract more customers and build larger profit margins, you have to be more diverse and explore new options and directions to do this.
I'm sure some will say, "why not get Sky?" Well unfortunately we can't due to our location but at least Sky were up-front and honest enough to tell us this when they first came to do a consultation, one, that by the way, we had as a secondary option to BT due to the attractions of the On Demand package, that then wasn't offered by Sky. How sad it's come too this and what an awful way to treat loyal customers who have upgraded to the packages you have offered in all innocence to obtain a better and more fruitful service? Customers who have never been late with payments either and used the likes of the Box office service for both movies and music (when the latter was chargable) as well, the money you have had off us, and that is what we've received in return and yet, perhaps, the poorest reflection on us, is we have stuck it for so long, but we are at the end of our tethers now and utterly furious at the decisions we've learned today that I am going to ensure we get to the bottom of this.
Thank you for taking the time to read, what I appreciate, is a lengthy message. I didn't want to have to write this but it was the only way of making our problems and feelings clear, and I wanted to include everything so as not too mislead anyone myself.Sadly as this is customer to customer forum you are only talking to fellow customers.
Perhaps it would be better to contact the Mods who are the only BT employees here,

Creating my home network, Apple Airport Extreme & Sky
Hello all,
Hoping somebody can help, I’m attempting to set up a network in my home that works a bit like this.
Ok, we’ve had sky broadband for a few months now and have the new grey Sagem router to go with it. I also have the new Apple Airport Extreme station (and an Oldish BTHomehub v1.5, the white one… just kicking about incase its useful!)
What I want to achieve is use Time Machine on my Macbook Pro to wirelessly backup over the network to a Hard Drive plugged into the AE. I want the AE to be upstairs away from the sky router and I also want to be able to plug Ethernet devices into the AE to use the internet (somehow acquired from the router downstairs I assume) like an Xbox, laptop or anything else I might need really).
*Its important to me that the AE isn’t downstairs in the same room as the router, otherwise I would just connect it with a cable and create a wireless network from that.
On top of that (stay with me….) if the AE has the functionality to extend the wireless network further to hit the low signal spots that would help.
I’ve been reading around the internet and various support sites. I know a little about this stuff but I’m not an expert on networking, I know nothing about the different signals N, g, b etc or how IP assigning works. I read a little about WDS networking but I’m not sure which direction to head.
This is probably the closest thing I’ve found to what I’m talking about, If the bottom hub was the sky router and the top hub was the Apple AE.
http://www.jarviser.co.uk/jarviser/repeaterhubs.html
Appreciate any suggestions, thanks. The best way by far is to run ethernet as a kind of backbone between the two stories.. on one storey setup the AE and the other you setup the TC.
I have no idea if one is the main router or not.. or both are bridged.. that doesn't really matter.. the principle is.. one router per network. So whichever is not the main router change to bridge mode.
Both should create a wireless network. You can use roaming setup, where both use identical names and identical security. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4260 -

Qosmio G30-116: How to connect the Sky Digital box to watch TV?
I just recently purchased the Qosmio G30-116 on the understanding that I can connect my Sky digital to the laptop (somehow) and watch and record sky on the laptop
* note: I am not using freeview or normal TV I am using SKY DIGITAL *
usint the supplied converter cable to connect to the video-in on the laptop (video in is like a headfone jack and the converter converts from this to female RCA)
I have plugged it into the laptop then connect a 3 RCA to SCART to it and then into the sky box, when setting up the TV section in Windows Media Centre I follow the instructions until it gets to the point where it scans for a signal, (previous to that I get asked what kind of signal I receive, I select digital but have tried all combinations,) but it doesn't find a signal.
Now I have been told that Windows Media Centre does not support Analogue input and that the connection between the sky box and the laptop is analogue.
Is this correct or not? then, while typing this I have been told by someone else that my laptop is not capable of receiveing SKY DIGITAl as it can't decode it or something. Is this also correct? If not, what am I doing wrong and can anyone help me get this going? And have I been going about this the right way or am I totally up the wrong path if laptop is capable of it?To start qosmio player
1.switch off computer using on/off blue lit on/off button to close windows operation.
2.make sure that the computer/windows is switch off
3.Now Touch the TV icon (Blue lit button)only or the DVD player ICOn (blue lit button)only. WITHOUT USING THE USUAL ON/OFF SWITCH
4.The qosmio player/engine will switch on instantly without booting windows.
5.TV will launch within 8 seconds and the same for DVD player
6.Pres F1 or F2 for further functions such as screen size,audio,forward.rewind.pause scanning the TV channnels (auto or manual)
7.You can do the same i.e open the qosmio player/TV with the supplied Toshiba/qosmio remote pressing the Live TV button ONLY for instant TV on or DVD menu ONLY for instant DVD player/CD player on WITHOUT USING THE ON/OFF SWITCH ON THE REMOTE.That is very much similar to a standard TV remote just press the TV or dvd menu .
8.If you touch the same icon buttons i.e TV and dvd player during the standard computer usage /windows operating system,IT WILL LAUNCH THE MEDIA CENTER BY DEFAULT.that's what happen to you!
I use the remote from my bed before going to sleep and the same from bed to watch early morning TV news
Qosmio is excellent for the versatility!
Enjoy

I don't have a TV. But I want TV. I know there are loads of USB TV receivers out there in the market. But the problem is, which one does all the work I need it to do, for the lowest price.
I live in the UK now. And obviously I want SKY for all those sports coverage. I'm sure not every USB TV receiver can support SKY. Does anybody here know which ones do?
And most importantly, although I have a very powerful iMac (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, 2GB Ram. 250 GB HD), I'm still worried about the TV receiver taking up much of the CPU's power for converting TV programmes, recording, or something like that. So, which USB TV device does the job without using my iMac's power? Or, do I really have to worry about my powerful iMac being slowed down by cheaper USB TV devices?
Thanks.I know what you are saying Mrtotes. Actually that's what I'm doing when I watch all those live football matches. I'm fanatic about the English Premier League. That's fine. But what I want is the tennis and the snookers. And I think I can't get live coverage of the two elsewhere. Besides this, nobody here likes watching the two. They don't like having those channels showing even when they are not watching the tele. That is the bad side about watching TV together in a common place. I know SKY is expensive and I've already spent quite a lot on buying some equipment for my courses. But if I don't get any snooker and tennis, I'm sure I'll go crazy. Did you say satellite dish? Do they need satellite dishes installed to watch Sky? The common room in our hall does have Sky (very limited choice of channels, plus folks here only like the MTV channels. I'm a Music Tech student myself, but I don't the stuff they get on MTV is entire rubbish), but I don't see any satellite around here.
I'm glad for your advice on watching Sky, or just the tele, with a bunch of people in a club or something; because I've been thinking about the same thing all the time. I'll probably just go for the FreeView anyway, because I'm very cautious (sometimes over cautious) about my budget (still I think I need Sky, you can see how desperate I am), you don't have to worry about me spending extra money which is not necessary. I'm OK. I know self-control. My mother always says I'm over cautious about my own budget, and I'm glad to hear that compliment, and I'll keep it up. When I buy food, I'll only go for those 99p microwave trash, no Marks n Spencer (my friend has MnM food all the time).
The reason why I think I need a tele in my own place is that I think a tele is the fastest and most effective way of improving my English. You may think mine is already good enough - many people say that, but I don't. FreeView alone can also boost my English up, in fact Sky is the luxury I have only in my dreams. I just happen to want something extra on top of the basic TV (i.e. sport coverage). Since MTV doesn't have much effect on my English (it does help degrade my intelligence though), I'm quite certain that I'm getting a TV my own, the USB device to be precise. I'm just looking for the best deal, the perfect balance for need, performance, luxury and price. Is the hybrid thingy the perfect candidate? -
Hi,
I have just cancelled my BT Vision service (OH does not like it) but still have BT Broadband and Calls which we are not changing. We have no phone line downstairs but a phone line upstairs and are using the BT powerline adapters. The powerline adapter downstairs is connected to the BT Vision box, the one upstairs is connected to the Home Hub which in turn is connected to the Internet part of the ADSL filter. Home hub upstairs is also connected via Ethernet to desktop PC. Downstairs we use wireless for the laptop.
My question is, we are thinking about getting a SKY TV package. They say that we need a telephone line to do this for the box to be connected to. We have spoken to a local SKY fitter who said we could use the powerline adapters to get around this problem, he didn't say how, but I assume by using the same set up as we have now.
Query: would using the powerline adapters which go from the socket upstairs via Ethernet to the home hub and then there is a cable from home hub to ADSL filter work? I am bothered that there will be something that will cause a problem with it.
Also having read bits from the forum it seems to suggest that you can connect to SKY using a wireless setup (as we already do with the laptop) does anyone know if this is true? We are thinking of getting a SKY+HD box.
Please anyone who answers speak in lay terms, above is about the limit of my technical knowledge.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Solved!

I am actually asking if you can run SKY TV through BT powerline adapters and through the BT Home hub, which seems to be a question for BT not SKY as they will say as it is BT equipment contact BT.
If anyone with any knowledge of running SKY and BT in tandom (I am sure there must be some) have any ideas it would be appreciated.
You need to ask this question on a Sky forum. The fact you are using BT eqpt means didilly squat. As Guy said, the installation isn't your problem, its the installers.
But I can tell you one thing, the box does not plug into an internet hub/router. Nor have you been told it needs to be.
Just ask your questions on a Sky forum and you'll find all the answers you need.

Can anyone help with iPlayer and Sky Mobile?
Ok, I'm so close to giving up with this useless phone. There are 3 apps on my N97 which give me a constant headache.
BBC iPlayer
Sky Mobile*
YouTube
*I should point out that I only use Sky Mobile to set recordings on my Sky+. I do not use it for, nor have any desire to use it for actually watching Mobile TV.
All of these apps work absolutely fine over my home WiFi network. It's when I try to use them over 3G (my Vodafone Live! connection) that I start running in to trouble.
All 3 give me connection problems, errors, and simply refuse to load half the time when on 3G. I got so annoyed I just did a hard reset the other week, and magically all three started working again. However, now 2 of them are failing me again. YouTube (touch wood) is working fine at the moment, but iPlayer and Sky Mobile just aren't.
iPlayer sometimes works. But sometimes I get script errors (unable to load content), and sometimes it says something about checking my connection settings. I wouldn't mind but it's not actually possible to access any options for the iPlayer. Even in application settings there are no options you're able to set.
Sky Mobile simply flat out refuses to work ever on 3G. But it did after I did a hard reset for a couple of weeks, now it just stopped working! It wont even load. It just gives the error message 'Unable to connect to network - please check connection settings" or something along those lines.
I've tried so many different things. Tried setting my internet connections to 'always ask', tried setting it to default to Vodafone Live! all the time, tried setting my video streaming settings to WAP, all sorts. Every combination I can think of.
I just can't wait to get rid of this phone. I've put so many people off buying one. They see it and think it's all swish and cool, and I just say 'Don't. You'll regret it'. I can't wait for my contract to be up so I can upgrade to an iPhone now Vodafone have got them.
Can anyone help with these problems? Thanks in advance, but I don't hold out much hope...About iPlayer.
Have a chat with Vodaphone. Streaming iPlayer over 3G IS allowed on Vodaphone contract, unlike my O2 contract. As long as your contract allows it, and you have the correct AP address, it should be fine. Vodaphone should be able to give you the setting.
Mine only works over Wlan.
FWIW, "... streaming over 3G is not currently available on iPhone handsets on any mobile network".
p.s. Just to be clear. You say "Tried setting my internet connections to 'always ask', tried setting it to default to Vodafone Live!".
iPlayer uses the Nokia browser "Web". So that's where you should make the setting "Ask when needed". It should then offer you the choice of whatever you've set in Destinations> Internet> then select whatever you've chosen as your GPRS connection.(as advised, or sent to you by Vodaphone). -
BEEN TRYING TO SWITCH FROM SKY UNLIMITED TO INFINI...
The grass is not always greener on the other side! Althought it certainly looked that way when I decided to switch provider to take advantage of the BT Sport package.
I ordered the full monty Infinity, Phone, Broadband and TV package and did so via a cashback website. Strangely the next day they created separate order for just a phone install and my cashback track "failed". (saving BT £120). Although I've waited so long now I launched an investigation using my own evidence to Quidco and it was granted again!
My Phone line was switched over pretty quickly (realised later that once your phone line has been switched to BT, to switch back to Sky and use their equipment at the exchange would cost a fee of £50! grrr). So I started to feel a little trapped. But tried to be positive.
Unfortunately nothing else happened. I called BT who initially denied there was any order for anything else. Luckily I keep screen shots/emails + original details of my order much to their embarassment. They apologised but insisted they should put order again immediately on phone. (which would have saved BT more cashback but I said no thanks I will do it online). I tried to cancel everything but here I was told I would have to pay £50 to switch phone line back. The cheek! Trapped.
I got a date 23rd of July for my switch over to Infinity, BT Vision Box arrived, engineer booked in on a 8am-1pm slot. Things were looking positive. Took day off and engineer was late but he did ring me to warn me in his defence. He seemed very competent and knowledgeable. After 5 hours though he said he had to leave and that he couldn't get it working although he thinks he cleared a fault on the line. I'm in IT and had a friend who used to be Openreach engineer. So we discussed in detail the situation.
Obviously I do not know for sure, but appears that my FTTC service was a no go because the local Cabinet had no spare ports only five broken ones (he tried about 3 of these). He said he was not sure when more would be provisioned. (I thought surely in advance they would reserve one or check this!). Imagine ordering a Tesco grocery delivery only for the driver to turn up saying unfortunately they didnt have anything for me.
But asI had been messed about for 6 weeks I thought BT will be straight back tomorrow to fix this. Engineer told me I would get a call next day. Heard nothing. I rang up 2 days later to be told the engineers were "deciding" what to do next. Never got a call back.
Unfortunately thats where I have been ever since. Only yesterday was I promised a new engineer on 14th of July after another two calls I made to India and 40 mins on phone talking to very nice but time consuming operators:
KULJEET FINGH (promised me a call back)
SWATI KUMARI - very helpful and believes she has fixed this.
I have had about 3 missed calls from scottish sounding customer service reps but they do not leave me a number to reach them. When I do call I get the India overflow or level 1 scripted service who don't know anything about the voicemails I received or my previous calls. Each calls takes ages to get through navigation then explain the situation.
So now I am thinking to myself, why oh why should I let them make me wait about another two weeks. I am struggling to find a reason to stick with BT.
Should I give up and give let Sky try and install Fibre?Well I have an update. I decided to stay as I was so far down the road. They gave me an engineer appointment of 14 of August which was totally disgusting.
I rang up to complain and was promised a call back as they tried to expediate my request. Never happened.
Whilst on these calls I also questioned the validity of sending another engineer unless they first checked that my local cabinet hard an available fibre port. I was promised and promised that they would put the notes on the call and it would not be a wasted engineer visit.
Engineer came today. Wasted visit - no ports on the cabinet.
He was not even sure why he was sent there knowing there were no ports. Talk about the blind leading the blind.
The incompetency of this corporation is absolutely astounding even when their customers are telling them they are going to fail they lie to your face just to appease you on the phone and move you on.
So I ordered my switch from sky to BT on June 6th.. and so far all I have is a phone line.
On top of this I noticed that they have charged me a late payment fee by DD and full line rental for first month. BT were so slow at installing it all that my up front line rental apparently did not cover their initialy switch over. Despite telling me I would not be charged I have been charged.
Now as a web designer I am now tempted to create basic website and use my SEO skills to push it to top of google rankings sharing with everyone of my experience of BT. -

Did you used to be able to view things on that site? If so, when did your problems start? Have you contacted them for help?
http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Using-Sky-Go/bd-p/skygo_using
This seems to be what's causing it: com.microsoft.net.coreclr
If that is the one and only site you're having problems with, I would contact them.
But in the meanwhile, make sure you've emptied your Safari cache . . . that might make a difference. -
ERROR: 'Sky Go unable to load program information as there is no Internet connection'
I was using Sky Go via my iPad and a T-Mobile hot spot generator (Hauwei) to watch programs whilst in my caravan in Devon. Suddenly it stopped working and I now whenever I try and use Sky Go I get the message 'Sky Go unable to load program information as there is no Internet connection'. Obviously I am connected. I have tried reinstalling Sky Go and have completely rebooted the iPad but to no effect. Why has it suddenly stopped working???
Having returned home I have tried to connect again when the ipad is connected via my BTHomeHub2 but I still get the same message, I have also tried to use BBC iPlayer and I am getting the same error message. What has happened????nikhildhoot wrote:
When the router has an internet connection, the phones automatically connect to the router flawlessly. When there is no internet connection, we get a notification saying "Wi-Fi Connection Limited"
The limited WiFi Connection issue when there is a good internet connection, is a known issue in the OS releases in the past six months, and has been corrected as far as I can tell on the most recent 10.2.1.3xxx or higher OS.
But, I would note that when your router has no internet connection, you should expect to get that notification... no internet connection > limited wifi connection.

How do I get my newly installed airport card to work with SKY?
+This question was originally posted on the G5 iMac section, but I think in retrospect it would be better here. Sorry for my mistake Administrator+.
Here's an interesting one for all you good people. Just bought and paid for an airport extreme card to pop into my little lad's G5 iMac, running Tiger(gggrrrrrrrr etc).
Managed to install it without a hitch.
Trouble is when I try and set it up to work with my SKY router (UK) it keeps telling me that my password is incorrect. The fibber! I know it IS correct as it is the one that SKY gave us and that we have successfully connected both my wife's MacBook and my own MacBook Pro with.
I have tried messing about with all kinds of configurations, but the set up assistants seem more bothered about yapping on about airport base-stations and computer-to-computer networks.
Now don't go telling me I need to get a base station to make it work. Please.
Can anyone offer some sound advice?
It does work on and off though. It works more often when the other Macs in the house are running (What-the-flip???)You can't. Theoretically, Thunderbolt devices that only transfer video and audio should work with Mini DisplayPort MacBooks like yours, but it's not the case of the Thunderbolt Display. Its firmware doesn't allow it to be used with non-Thunderbolt Macs, so you can't use the Thunderbolt Display with the Mid 2010 MacBook Pro.
Instead, you have to look for another screen, or you can get an adapter and connect the MacBook Pro to a TV -
My sky account emails keep disappearing before I want them to on my ipad and iPhone. How can I keep them in my in box till I decide to move or delete them?
The only way is to restore the iphone as new.
