SkyDrive Pro resync

We're testing the functionality of SkyDrive Pro in our business, and we've come across an issue.  Initially setting up SkyDrive Pro, it creates a folder in the user's profile, and starts syncing.  Awesome.  But when you go to change the root
folder to another location, or maybe an issue with syncing occurs and so you delete the FileCache under the user's AppData folder, and you go to re-setup the root folder, it won't ever take the original location.  It always creates a new folder called
"SkyDrive Pro" -- or, if there already is a folder with that name, it creates "SkyDrive Pro 1", "SkyDrive Pro 2", etc.
We've tried this on various desktops and VMs, and the issue has occurred each time.
Why is it SkyDrive Pro can't take the original location again?  Why can't I just have SkyDrive Pro point to a folder, and sync everything in that folder?

This behavior seems to be prevalent in many systems. The application create an initial profile or root folder in the system at first time. But when we secondly launch the application, it would not load the previous profile/configration bu re-create
a new one. In most of this case, we need to confirm if you loss the permission of previous folder or else. Thanks.

Hi receiving error code when trying to run Skydrive Pro, it only started yesterday and has been working fine for nearly a year, getting very frustrated now can any one help.
Skydrive Pro needs to close because of a hardware or configuration problem

    Hi,
If you are using SharePoint 2010, then please understand  SkyDrive Pro is not supported with SharePoint 2010 platform since you installed KB2825633 in October,2013.
If you are using SharePoint 2013, then please try clearing browser history, then run IE as administrator and resync the SharePoint.

  • On-premise SharePoint 2013 and SkyDrive Pro Sync Issue

    Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum between SharePoint and SkyDrive as the issue is related to an update on SkyDrive Pro.
premise SharePoint 2013 installation (migrated from 2010) and Office 2013 installed. SharePoint is patched up to the latest CU. Syncing documents from SharePoint worked fine until KB2817495 was installed. The syncing still seems to work but we cannot add
any new libraries, either directly from the browser using the "sync" button or adding the URL to "Sync a new library". I've tested it with an Office 365 account and the libraries add fine so I'm not sure whether it's a SkyDrive or SharePoint
issue. If I uninstall the update then I can successfully sync new libraries from our on-premise installation.
At this point the only solution I can see is to prevent that update from installing via WSUS.
    Kind regards,
    Rick

Yammer already have Single Sign On with Office 365, but SharePoint Server for on-premise does not follow a 90-day release cycle and it won’t yet. Also we are looking for Yammer integration with on-premise

  • Is there an app for SkyDrive Pro

I would like to access my skydrive Pro account using an app instead of going to my office 365 account and then going to skydrive. I was hoping the app would let me drop files to it.
Is there an app and or instructions on using skydrive Pro on an iPad/iPhone
    Thanks!!!

According to Paul Thurrott, a Skydrive Pro app for iPhone/iPad is coming. http://winsupersite.com/office-2013/office-365-skydrive-pro

  • Skydrive Pro doesn't remember saved credentials (FBA) and gives "script error" on login

I'm having some trouble with authentication with Skydrive Pro and an on-premises Sharepoint Foundation 2013 deployment.
Sharepoint is configured with forms-based authentication to an AD LDS instance using a 3rd party LDAP provider.
    There are two issues:
    1) Skydrive Pro doesn't appear to save credentials - After a while (or frequently after a reboot), Skydrive Pro will re-prompt the user for credentials. Checking the "Remember me" box appears to have no effect. The site is in IE's trusted site list
with the "Logon with current user/password" option checked. Are there any other steps I should be taking to make Skydrive Pro permanently save credentials?
I have seen a few pages about changing the "timeout" setting in a web.config file, but I'm not sure which of the many web.config files I would use. The <authentication mode="Forms"> blocks that I found while looking through didn't
have a timeout attribute set at all. I've also read something about setting the SlidingExpiration attribute, but am also unclear whether that's related or where I would go about putting it.
    2) Skydrive Pro presents the normal Forms-based log-in page in a new window to the user to enter their credentials. After entering them, the window doesn't close - instead, the window tries to render the home page of the sharepoint site. It only shows the
colored top bar and a button that says "Skip Ribbon Commands." It then presents a pop-up titled "Script Error" from the browser that says:
An error has occurred in the script on this page.
    Line: 150
    Char: 1
Error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object
    Code: 0
    URL: http://domain.com/_layouts/15/start.aspx
It asks whether to continue running scripts on the page. If the user closes the popup and the browser window, Skydrive Pro appears to work and sync as normal - but the error messages are annoying and scary to the end user.
Line 150 from the referenced start.aspx:
    <a href="javascript:;" onclick="document.getElementById(&#39;startNavigation&#39;).focus();" class="ms-accessible ms-acc-button" accesskey="Y">Skip Ribbon
    Commands</a>
    Any way to remedy this?
    Any help is appreciated.

  • Login ID best practice. Windows 8, Office 365 with SkyDrive and SkyDrive PRO

I have had many confusing issues with multiple and conflicting ID's. I have just spent 3 hours online with MS technical support to discover that a document can be edited in Word and saved to Sharepoint365 but if it is synched with the
desktop and that one is edited then the local signon sets the wrong permissions and the upload centre fails.
I have two MSOL Office/365 accounts, both Enterprise level with SkyDrive Pro.
I have two Live accounts, both with SkyDrive.
I am using Windows 8 so need to signon with a live ID or local and non-linked account.
    Assuming I configured;
    1. W8 user account with Live ID AAA and only used MSOL/365 Account BBB in a session.
    2. W8 user account with Live ID ZZZ and only used MSOL/365 Account XXX in a session.
    Would that be okay?
    1. Should I be able  to access AAA Skydrive and BBB SkyDrive Pro in the same session?
    2. If I synch SharePoint folders from a BBB session should I be able to edit them directly in word, with user account BBB active and be able to save okay?
    Cheers, Richard
    RC

In Windows Live you could create alias account which means you have one Windows Live Account but login with multiple email. You create one account and then link Office365 account as alias to it. You could have one Windows 8 account and different Office365
    account too.
You could also configure your Office365 account to use your Windows Live Id and login with that account.

  • SkyDrive Pro - Renaming folders and sync locations

I'm trying to understand the SkyDrive Pro feature. Of course it ain't really SkyDrive as all references point to the old Groove application. I like how Groove moved from Groove --> SharePoint Workspace --> SkyDrive Pro..
I can change the Sync location via the UI like explained here:
Change the location where you sync SharePoint libraries on your computer
This doesn't help if I want to rename the sync folder of document libraries on my local drive.
There's two problems I have with the local folders:
The sync folder name is trimmed to 35 characters. That makes it hard to distinguish different document libraries from the same site if the site name is long. I currently have a set of folders named like so: "<long sitename> ... - Doc" and
"<long sitename> ... - Pro". These libraries are actually called "Documents and "Protocols".
Different O365 Tenants create different root folders.
I m now wondering about problem one. I have found the Access (!) Sync DB under C:\Users\gaida\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\OfficeFileCache\CentralTable.accdb (no google results yet on the architecture). In that Sync DB I found all local locations
under the SubCache table as well as the OutgoingEvents. Changing the local locations there doesn't work - SkyDrive Pro forgets about the folders right away and I have to re-synch them. That means those locations are not the right way to change stuff.
Has anyone any more insight information on how SkyDrive Pro works? I also found the secret Telespaces path with the *.xss files - these also look promising, are not editable with a text editor though.
Basically my question is how SkyDrive Pro works and how I can rename the local sync folders.

  • Alternate of Skydrive pro for offline capability in sharepoint 2013.

    Hi Everyone,
I have been working on offline solution for sharepoint 2013. The volume of data in sharepoint is huge(like 2 TB). Almost every user will have access to more than 25000 documents. Initially I picked Skydrive Pro client(which comes with office 2013) as a tool
but later got to know the limitations of it.
    As this link
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn232145.aspx#section3 says.
The SkyDrive Pro Windows Sync client limits the total number of items that you may synchronize with a document library. The following limits are the synchronization limits of the SkyDrive
    Pro Windows Sync client:
You can synchronize up to a maximum of 20,000 items in your SkyDrive Pro document library, which includes folders and files.
You can sync up to a maximum of 5,000 items in other document libraries, which includes folders and files.
In any library, you can download files up to a maximum file size of 2 GB.
     Note:
The above limits are not configurable.
Which is a major setback for me. I have tried to found one tool called colligo breifcase for windows http://www.colligo.com/colligo-briefcase-for-windows-feature-matrix/.
Is there any other 3rd party tool or code in codeplex to overcome these limitations?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Documents in a shared "SkyDrive Pro" (Sharepoint) folder makes office applications to hang.

    Hello,
I asked the following question in the Office365 community but they could not help me any further and they told me to ask the question here. For the original thread look here: http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/172/p/212129/655853.aspx
Office version: Office Pro 2013 (365 ProPlus)
    Windows version: Windows 7 Pro.
We are using a shared folder on "places" in SharePoint Online with some shared documents we edit from different places. But sometimes when using documents on the drive applications like Excel and Word hangs, and then you have to reboot or kill a couple
of "winword.exe" or "excel.exe" to get them to work again.
I don't know why those "shadow processes" are there, but the problem is only when working with documents on the SkyDrive Pro.
Sometimes when you save to Skydrive the applications hangs and you have to kill the process.
The document seams to be saved tough.
    Kind Regards,
    Noiden

    Hi Noiden,
Please exit your Skydrive Pro and try to use the command %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\Groove.exe /clean /all stated in the KB article below to check if it helps:

Please let me know the result.

  • Installing SkyDrive Pro

Hi there, I am trying to install SkyDrive Pro on my Windows 7 Entperprise SP1 desktop and am getting a problem in the shape of a "We found a problem" dialog box: We found a pre-release or Beta version of an Office product on your computer and can't
install becuase of it. Please Uninstall ... and try again".
Any ideas on where this might be coming from? We have a fairly standard MS suite of products, none of them Beta that I know of. We are trialling Office365 for roll-out to the whole University, hence my desire to be able to use SkyDrive
to acess my work folders via O365.

Sometimes this issue occurs when there is either a corrupt installation or remnants of a trial installation are still existing. Have you tried uninstalling using the Microsoft Troubleshooter?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us. You will need to re-install the entire Office Suite after doing this.

  • Clearing up the subject of SkyDrive Pro once and for all

Ok. So after reading many web pages, I get the point that 'SkyDrive Pro' is completely different to the consumer version of SkyDrive, and that the 'SkyDrive Pro' designation is really a fancy word for 'My Sites' within Sharepoint. I also understand that
storage within an on-premises Sharepoint server setup is local and controlled locally and is where data is housed for users when they navigate to 'SkyDrive Pro' within the browser.
So, my question is...is it possible to sync data between on-premises server and a device when out on the road? Is it possible to make the Sharepoint server accessible to external clients?

Device sync with SkyDrive Pro can only be done with Office 365 (SharePoint Online), e.g. iOS, Android, etc. Only the Windows desktop client of SkyDrive Pro can currently sync with on-premises SharePoint.

  • Using "Shared with Everyone" on Skydrive Pro

    Hi,
Two users in the same organisation using Office 365
Both open Skydrive Pro and place files in their "Shared with Everyone" folder (thats he one that displays the words "Everyone in
companyX can access the documents here")
However in the folder both users can only see their own files.
How do these users see and access each others files?
    {Also - I have also tried creating folders under each user and sharing them with the other user.  Still each user can only see they're own files and folders.}
(from reading other posts currently the best answer looks like "use Google Drive" - surely there must be a way using Skydrive/Sharepoint?)

    Hi,
Here is the link to the “Documents shared with me” feature in SharePoint 2013 environment, it provides a holistic overview of all documents shared with me. Thus the user is automatically informed of shared documents without leaving the current working context.
All documents shared with me are displayed in a result stream.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/store/documents-shared-with-me-WA103998117.aspx
Please go to http://mycompany/myteam and click the Setting icon > Add an app > Find an app > type the tag WA103998117 and click search > check out the result in the SharePoint Store if needed > select
language on the top right corner > Add it.

  • SkyDrive Pro and SharePoint 2010

Why SkyDrive Pro can no longer sync SharePoint 2010 libraries? I was using Windows 8 with Office 2013 and SkyDrive Pro had no problems with synchronizing content from SharePoint 2010. Now I installed Windows 8.1 with Office 2013 and it doesn't work anymore.
Is there any way to fix it? My colleagues (with Windows 8 and Office 2013) still can synchronize content from SharePoint 2010.

Note that SkyDrive Pro does not support SharePoint 2010 so any issues you have with it won't be looked at by Microsoft.
