This is now my second attempt at posting this issue, as my previous attempt mysteriously disappeared. Apparently, Skype's community forum is about as reliable as the desktop app. Hrmmmmmm...
Currently on build 6.21.64.104 on Windows 7 x64
Every time a banner ad loads in the Skype Windows application, a pop-up appears attempting to install Adobe Flash updates. Updates fail upon clicking "Install," and clicking "Don't Install" or "x" to close the window does not prevent the window from appearing again a mere five seconds later.
This pop-up also has the wonderful ability to steal focus from whatever you're doing on your computer. It has opened skype from the "background" (read: in your taskbar or tray) to display said popup. Typing or having voice calls (does not appear during video calls, thankfully) is practically impossible, as it prevents said functions as long as the popup is open, and interrupts said functions every time a new advertisement loads, which varies between every five to thirty seconds. Using other appplications while skype is running on your computer is also practically impossible as it steals focus to display said pop-up. I strongly suspect that these installer files, as well as other "goodies," are packaged with the advertisements.
My misgivings with Skype's aggressive advertising policy aside, Skype has become overbloated adware that doesn't even function as adware anymore. Needless to say, this needs to be fixed. Now.

Trying to install on a second computer takes me to "Billing Info"

When trying to download and install Lion on my second computer, I go to the MAS - Purchased - and Lion is there with all my other purchased apps. On this computer (without Lion) it says "Install" to the right of Lion. I click on Install and it then takes me to my Apple ID Billing Info page and apparently wants me to confirm my credit card (pre-filled except for the CV code). Is this going to charge me a second time...or is it truly just a confirmation of the credit card I used to purchase Lion initially?

John...the best instructions for this seem to be at http://tidbits.com/article/10253. You can vary things as necessary, but I've given up and just use native Gmail since for me it's simply the best. That, pluse Google Calendar and I'm happy. Everything else is Mac, but I need to have a 1000% perfect sync with our Android phones, so this just works for me.

Trying to install windows on second internal HDD, keep getting black screen?

I recently took the optical drive out of my 15" 2011 Macbook Pro, and replaced it with a second hard drive. I want to install windows on this second hard drive. However, when I try to do this through boot camp, it simply goes to a black screen with a blinking white cursor and stays there forever (presumably). I am using a windows install disk run out of the optical drive that came with the computer, which is now connected via a usb encolsure. I am running OSX out of my new SSD, which is in the main hard drive bay. The old hard drive that came with the computer is now in the optical bay. I have successfully installed windows from this disk onto my computer using boot camp before. Why is this not working, and what can I do to fix it?

Swap back and remove the drive that will not be used for Windows.
Booting from external DVD or devices is not supported.
The Mac Pro has of course had multiple hard drives and always easy but needed to remove other drives. Windows does not install if it sees a drive with GPT even though not the drive Windows is targeted to use.

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

It is not clear to me what your issue is with not being able to sign in to your Adobe account to find the serial number. You should still be able to sign in and find your serial number if you registered the software.
If your first PC is a Windows machine you might be able to extract the serial number from it using the Belarc Advisor

Trying to install Windows on a partition of second internal HD

Hello,
As the title mentions, I'm trying to install Windows on my iMac 11,1 in which I've swapped out the Superdrive for a SSD.
My current setup is with 10.8 boot drive + recovery partition on the SSD and an HFS+ data partition on the second drive (HDD).
What I would like is for the SSD to contain the same partitions, but for the HDD to also include a bootable Windows partition.
Two problems with this:
1. The computer won't boot from a USB drive so I can't make a proper installer (out of the legal Windows 7 .iso I have).
The two ways around this I have read about (and tried) are to use virtualization to convince the installer it's running from a CD and not an .iso and to put the install files on a separate bootable partition of the internal drive. I managed to use Parallels 8 to install Windows 7 to a second partition on the HDD (though it couldn't make some writes due to security issues), but couldn't make it bootable. I tried making a hybrid MBR (using gdisk) on the HDD before installing Windows 7 to the partition, which made it bootable, but Windows got stuck before it loaded. This leads into problem #2.
2. The HDD doesn't know how to boot itself. My suspician is that the bootloader and/or BIOS emulation code (I don't really understand how this works) doesn't exist on the HDD. I have no idea how to fix this issue.
Any help would be appreciated in getting this to work. I'm familiar with the command line, so don't be afraid I'm going to wimp out if you ask me to use it.

My understanding of how Bootcamp works is it creates a hybrid MBR that uses GPT in each section.
I tried last night to install Windows using Parallels 8 on a partition of my SSD created by the Bootcamp Assistant. However, Windows still wouldn't boot. I then tried to edit the MBR myself using gdisk, leaving me with the windows partition not even showing up in in the UI after I hold option at startup.

There are two ways that a backup can become encrypted:
You chose to encrypt it, then forgot the password.
If you have company-provided MS Exchange access your IT department has the option of requiring your backup to be encrypted. The first time you backed up or synced after installing MS Exchange you were prompted for a password. That is the password you need.
If you don't have the password any longer there is no way to restore the backup.
