Skype 7.0 adds country code to Mac contact phone n...

[Topic title updated by moderator to be more descriptive. Original topic title was: "Re: New Skype for Mac 7.0"]
I recently upgraded my Mac to version 7.0.
When I opened my contacts, I noticed that all of my contact numbers now had the country code +64 added to almost every phone number! I live in New Zealand (the code is +64) but most of my Skype contacts are all overseas in other countries.
Of course, there is no way for me to edit the numbers directly now in Skype. I am supposed to fix this in my Mac contacts but these are correct. It is Version 7.0 that completely goofed my contacts up!!!   Grrrrrrr......
How do I fix this problem? Otherwise, I will have to delete all of my contacts and re-enter them with the correct country codes.
Most irritating. I should be able to edit in Skype but this is impossible. Looking forward to a quick reply because this is a huge mess to fix.
Thank you.

My contact numbers worked fine in the last version. This version 7.0 simply just added the default country code across my entire contact list containing many different country codes already.
This is really a monumental problem for those of us in international business with a wide-range of contacts across the globe.
I now have to go through my entire Mac contacts and delete or modify every single contact to ensure each one is correct.
I totally regret upgrading to Version 7.0.
One more thing: Who came up with the oscillating picture icon when connecting to a contact? It is really annoying. Its one of those weird visual things that will set off an epileptic seizure. We don't need such features...get rid of it. All I need is to see the word "Connecting."

  • How do I add the country code to all contacts when it did not previously appear?

I just moved from the US to the UK and purchased a new iPhone 4S.  When my contacts migrated from Outlook to the iPhone they did not include the country code in the US and therefore all contacts numbers are now listed incorrectly.  How can I add the country code to hundreds of contacts painlessly?
    Thanks in advance.

International Assist is activated.  Upon further review this appears to be a case of the original country codes not being added when the contact list was constructed.  iOS has not figured this out and thus when changing countries I've been forced to add the country codes to every contact record manually.  Disappointing and very labour intensive.  If only Apple allowed for a macro that simplified the mass change.

  • How do I insert a WAIT or a PAUSE function, followed by a constant string of numbers [international code, country code and the destination phone number].

I'd like to program a LOCAL ACCESS NUMBER, then insert a WAIT or a PAUSE function, followed by a constant string of numbers [international code, country code and the destination phone number]. Dialing the local, US  access number is not an issue, but I can't find any info in the manual on how to insert a WAIT or PAUSE or how to insert the remaining string of international codes and destination phone number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Add country code to phone number automatically

Does iCloud Contacts have the ability to add the country code automatically in front of phone numbers:
e.g. if a phone number is stored as (212)555-3270; does iCloud have a batch update option where it can convert the number to +1(212)555-3270; The user may allow this automatically OR ask to be prompted.

Is there a way for me to automatically add the country
code before the phone number for all the contacts
    that do not have it?
First, you must have stored somewhere what country each phone number is for. Without this, no automatic method will work.
The obvious place is in the "country" field of each Address Book entry, but keep in mind that you can have multiple addresses & multiple phone numbers for each contact, & it is possible one contact could have addresses and/or phone numbers in more than one country. This makes the problem much more difficult, particularly if there are different labels for different ones of each. (IOW, you could have an "office," a "direct," a "mobile," & a "home" phone, & a "work," a "home" & maybe even a "cabin" or "2nd home" address, not necessarily all in the same country or with an obvious address/phone relationship.)
You also would need to test each phone number to make sure it did not already have a country code entered (to avoid double codes), & some way to mark or otherwise handle entries without a country entry in any address field, with uncertain address/phone relationships, etc.
It is possible to do all this with Applescript, but frankly, even if you already knew a fair amount about scripting, it would probably take you longer to write, debug, & verify the results of applying the script than it would to go through 300 entries by hand, particularly if you use the search box or smart groups to go through the contacts one country at a time.
However, no matter what you try, you can guard against data loss by backing up the Address Book before you start (File -> Backup Address Book) & restoring from the backup if something goes wrong.

  • Inbound texts automatically add country code, won't allow me to respond

I travel a great deal for work and spend most of my time overseas. Because of this, I have a local SIM I use in Europe (Vodafone). I have everything set up, texting, calling, data. However, everytime I receive an inbound text, the country code is automatically added, +39 in this instance. Everytime I try to respond to a text, it get the "Message Failed" notification. I AM, however, able to send texts while texting the respondents number manually, or using my contacts list, without country codes added. I've tried with Assisted Dialing off and on, with the current country configured properly. Any help with this is greatly appreciated, I've scoured Google for answers but nothing seems to work.

Yes, that worked with my son's ipod when we newly set it up.  But my daughter didn't set up her game center right away and I think that had something to do with it.
But I found the answer!!!  I kept searching the other discussions on this site and found the answer from BandomaM dated April 12, 2011.
He said to go into an existing game on the ipod that would allow multi players (we used fruit ninja).  It will then prompt you to sign in using an existing account or create a new one.  We used the existing and her Apple ID and confirmed the stuff and agreed.  Then (as BandomaM put it) "BAM!"  it worked!!!  We are thrilled.

  • Change the default country code for new contacts in Outlook 2013 for countries not listed in Control Panel Region Format

    Dear all,
I would like to change the default country code for new Outlook 2013 contacts. My country is Mozambique (+258) and is not listed under Control Panel> Region> Formats> Format:
Is there any place (registry maybe, anywhere) where I can manipulate the existing formats or manually add a new format to the List ??? - for example Portuguese (Mozambique).
    I am using Windows 8.1
I have tried changing the country on the phone and modem options and nothing changes. Also changing the Home Location on Region> Location to Mozambique didn't change a thing. The only place where I change something and produces results is the
    Format List.
Any ideias???? If not, is there a place where I can ask Microsoft to include Portuguese (Mozambique) on future windows updates???
    Kind regards,
    Osvaldo

    Hi,
Windows uses the information set under
'Phone and Modem'  in the Control Panel to determine the default area code.
You can change the country/region to
    Mozambique
and set your area code here:

  • Add area codes to multiple contacts in address book

We are having to add area codes to contacts due to having to dial 10 digit phone numbers. Is there a way to do this for multiple contacts at once, rther than changing each one?

Export your database to a csv file, open in a spreadsheet, add area codes and then bring the file back.

  • How to prevent users from entering '+' or '0' in front of country code in the phone number field?

    Requirement:
How can I prevent guest users from entering '+' sign or '0' in front of country-code in the visitor phone number field during self registration?
Few SMS service providers are not looking for '+' sign or '0' or '00' in front of the international phone numbers to trigger the sms. Providing these values in front of country code during self-registration may fail to deliver the sms to recipient.
    Solution:
Using a simple regular expression, you can validate the entered phone number during the guest registration.
The below regular expression will help you to validate the phone number and allows to register only  when the phone number is not staring with '+' or '0'.
    ^[1-9][0-9](\d{7}|\d{8}|\d{9}|\d{10}|\d{11}|\d{12})$
It also performs the below validations.
    only numbers are allowed.
first digit of the entered phone number should be 1 to 9, so '+' or '0' is not allowed.
numbers from 0 to 9 are allowed from the second digit.
also validates phone number length, the length of the phone number should be 9 to 14.
    Configuration:
To add the above regex in the visitor_phone number filed, please navigate to ClearPass Guest >> Configuration >> (Pages)Guest Self-Registration >> select the self-registration page and go to Edit >> Register Page >> Form >>  select the filed visitor_phone and set the Validator to " ISRegexMatch" and enter the above regex in the Validator Argument filed as shown below.
Note:  Edit the Validation Error as per your requirement.
    Verification
Adding the given regex will validate the phone number and prevent the guest user from registering the phone number starts with '+' or '0'.
Please find below the sample outputs for your reference.
Result when phone number starts with '+' or '0'.
    Successful registration.

  • Selecting a country code

I am brand new to Skype. Frankly, I only see it being helpful for my International calls. I call France and Italy often. So here is my very basic question: Should I set up my number with either Italy or France as my main number (i.e., area code)?  My USA based friends will call me using my USA based number. But, if I have an Italian Skype number for example, my Italian friends/family will get a better rate when they call my cell right?
Or, should I go with a USA number?

    Hello,
You should set up a Skype Number in the country in which your contacts are located. You can have up to 10 Skype Numbers.  These are not available in either France or in Italy.

I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

  • Avoid Country code in CRM

    HI All,
I am facing issue with Automatic addition of country code to the Phone number which we recieve from Interface. Our client wants Users themselves will add country code and we should disable automatic addition of country code based on Country. I went to Setting under IMG--Sap webapplication server-Set Country codes there I tried to remove country code but then it was disabled for all interface. My problem is for particular interface they want to disable it but for other interface then want CRm to add country code. Can anyone help me with this.
    Many thanks,
    Ashutosh

    Hi Praveen,
There was nothing much we did in CRM. We had XI so we decided to handle it at XI level. Even if CRM adds country code to the number while sending it back XI will chopp off country code and send it to interface.
    Regards,
    Ashutosh

  • AAR and Country Codes

    Hi all,
We are about to deploy CallManager 4.1(3) in Europe, supporting several offices:
    Paris (country code 33)
    Munich (country code 49)
    London (country code 44)
My question is about using AAR between these offices. Let's assume we have the following dial plan:
Paris: ext. 1111, external phone number 1111-1111
Munich: ext. 2222, external phone number 2222-2222
London: ext. 3333, external phone number 3333-3333
If Paris is dialing Munich and AAR kicks in, Paris will need to dial access code (00) + country code (49) + Ext. Phone Number (2222-2222).
I can put the 00 in the AAR Group, however I can't put the 0049 in the AAR group, because if Paris needs to dial London in the same scenario they will need to dial access code (00) + country code (44) + Ext. Phone Number (3333-3333).
I think each physical phone can only get 1 AAR group.
It appears to me I have two choices:
    1. Put the country code in the External Phone Mask config, so (for example) Munich's Ext. Phone Number would be 49-2222-2222 and London's would be 44-3333-3333. The Paris' AAR Group would simply be 00.
    2. Put translation patterns in each office. So - in AAR - when Paris dials 00-2222-2222 I translate it to 00-49-2222-2222 and when they dial 00-3333-3333 I translate it to 00-44-3333-3333.
#2 seems like it does not scale well at all. #1 seems to work well, does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone hit this before?
    Thanks - Rob.

AAR group dialing prefixes are used between two groups at any time. So you can define the country codes in the AAR prefix specified in the group.
So you will have three AAR groups (each go under the appropriate phone's line configuration)
AARParis will use 0049 to AARMunich
AARMunich will use 0033 to AARParis
AARParis will use 0044 to AARLondon
AARLondon will use 0049 to AARMunich
AARMunich will use 0044 to AARLondon
AARLondon will use 0033 to AARParis.
Refer to SRND for best practices on AAR.
