[Skype 7.0 Group Conversation] Picture

Hi,
Even though I change the group conversation picture, its not set on the client I'm using. I can see the new picture on a linux client, but not on a Windows 8.1, Skype 7.0.0.100 version client.
This is how the pictures look even though I have tried to change them several times:

With the latest Skype version, it's currently possible to edit profile pictures only for the new Cloud-based group chats. Profile pictures of the old P2P based group chats are still not visible.

Group conversation pictures not displaying on new ...

I don't know if there's an option I'm not seeing but since I updated to the new skype preview, I cannot see group conversation pictures for any of the skype groups I'm in.
Clicking on the conversation topic loads up the profile for the group, and I can change the picture in there, but it will not display for me (even in the profile window I get the default 'no picture' picture).

Can we please have the conversation picture visible to all participats of group conversations back?
And while you're at it, can we have (fubar) and (finger) and (hollest) back too?
One more thing - can we please have back the ability to adjust the size of the typing box? There is only one little line there now and one would like to be able to see at least 4 or 5 lines of the message you are typing.
When you update, the update should improve, not remove.

Skype 6.21.73.104 problem? The conversation pictur...

While I'm glad that there is,once again, an option to change the conversation picture, there is something wrong with it. No matter who changes it in my group, the conversation picture still remains the default picture. It still notifes us when it's changed, but doesn't seem to physically do so. However, people with older versions of Skype seem to people able to see the pictures we change them to. Help?

That is a known issue. Unfortunately that problem still exists in the latest version. Hopefully they will address that issue soon.

Group conversation not working in Skype 7.10 (777)

I have updated my Skype to Version 7.10 (777) this morning and since then not able to post and receive messages in group conversation.I tried even creating new groups but issue still remains.Can somebody please let me know how to resolve this issue?

Try reinstalling your skype again for a start?
if not there are costume sounds to each notification
Skype> Preferences > Notifications > Details
Go to Event and from the drop down menu and select "First message in conversation" for instance Go the drop down menu in Play Sound and try any of the sounds again or upload your custom sound .

Unable to view conversation pictures in specific c...

Using the newest version of Skype (7.0.0.102), in most group conversations, I am able to change the concersation picture and have it update immediately. However, in others, attempting to change the picture results in no change on my end. One user in the chat is showing that it is not changing; however someone else had it update. I'm not quite sure where the issue is. Is there something that I'm missing here?

With older Skype versions (6.21 and older) you can change and view profile pictures of old P2P group chats, but not the new Cloud-based chats.
With the latest Skype versions, the situation is the opposite. The new Cloud-based profile pictures can be edited and viewed, while the old P2P not.

Photo share in group conversations doesn't work.

I can view uploaded images just fine, and share my own to single contacts. However, when I try to upload using the + in a group conversation, all I see under chat options is Add Participants.

This is still an issue with the current Android skype. It's just the android version that is missing photo share.

BBM Groups - conversations in group chats are always missing!

Hi, I'm a relatively new BB user. I belong to 2 BBM groups. All the group members are my contacts. In every single BBM group chat I miss parts of the conversation. It is very random what I miss and how much I miss. I can't follow the chat generally there is that much missing. There isn't a pattern, ie somedays I can see say contact x and y and the next day x and z. The chat never catches up, ie the missing conversation text never comes through hours later. I own a curve 8520 and my BBM group chat screen looks different to all my friends, they have later version BBs. I have version 5.0 software. I did an update for BBM via appworld, removed battery, left the groups, have been re-added and still no luck. I have no problem ever with regular BBM chat one-on-one with any of my contacts, only group conversations. My service provider have been no help despite multiple phone calls. Any ideas?

Send /get name chat command to this particular group chat.
If the returned name starts with #name, then this group chat is the old P2P group.
If the returned name starts with 19: then this group is the new Cloud based group.

Messages in group conversations not delivered

When I send messages to individual people, they receive them fine, but when I try and send messages to a group they never work, I tried qutting/restarting sign in/sign out turning the internet on and off, restarting the computer, nothing works! It's really annoying and has ben happening for a week now, how do I fix it??

What happens for the messages you sent into group conversations? Do they show a rotating "pending" status next to the timestamp?
Do you receive messages sent into this chat after you had sent yours?

Can't see group chat picture on Version 6.22.0.10...

Changing group chat picture in version 6.22.0.107 of Skype, participants are not able to see the picture.
Has anyone experience this?

Cannot send and receive messages to group conversations

This has been happening since last wedsnday. I type a message to a group chat, hit enter, and the wheel never stops spinning. Messages from group conversations won't be delivered to me either, and I know that messages are being sent because I see them on my iPod touch. No one else in the group chats has this problem. Internet is just fine. I have uninstalled and installed skype two times. No suggestions from the Skype community have worked. Any help? (I send messages via skype)

I just upgraded to 6.22 and the "Allow this group's picture and name to be changed" checkbox is now missing. Why is it missing? I know that you can just do /set options -TOPIC_AND_PIC_LOCKED_FOR_USERS but I don't understand why the GUI option was removed.

Group avatars cannot be changed in the latest 6.22 version. In the case of new "cloud-based" group chats, this option is not available in older Skype versions either.

Messages to Group Conversations Remains Pending

Hi Skype Community!
Since yesterday, which is 10/15/2014 (Thu), whatever message I send to group conversations stays pending. There is a loading circle logo at the end of all my messages after a couple of seconds and it stays that way. I can send messages with my laptop or android to these group conversation groups with the same wi-fi just fine, but my desktop would not. This problem started since last night and there should not be any remarkable changes to my desktop recently. Note that my desktop can send messages in 1-to-1 conversations perfectly fine.
I tried reinstalling the latest windows version of Skype 2 times, restarting my modem and router, dns flushing, windows update, etc. Nothing worked so far and I'm stuck skyping with my laptop or phone when I need to communicate with groups. This is quite cumbersome and I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi All,
After two hours of troubleshooting this worked for me.
1. Exit/Close Skype
2. Click on your start menu
3. Type in run or click on run if the option is there
4. In the run box type %appdata%\Skype
5. Create a new folder "Profile Backups"
6. Move the folder that is your Skype ID in the Profiles Backups folder you just created (do not copy it there either move or cut it into the target folder)
The next time you open Skype you will need to re enter your ID and password - This will then recreate your profile
I also deleted the Shared.xml file before doing these steps but it didn't do anything for me but may help.
Hope this works for the rest of you."

P2P group conversation gets created, not cloud-bas...

using Skype 4.3.0.37 on Linux
newly created group conversations are P2P, not cloud-based. I kick all the participants, quit myself, recreate group conversation - and it is P2P again
how I create new group conversation:
I open chat with one of my contacts(1), then use "Add people" feature to add one more contact(2) - group conversation gets created, where there are three people - I, contact1 and contact2
I am checking conversation type using "/get name" command as its described here: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10042/what-are-chat-commands-and-roles

(To check if your group is P2P or Cloud based, type /get name into the chat window and press Enter.
If the group name response starts with 19:... you're in a cloud-based chat; if the group name response starts with #skypename... you're in a P2P-based chat.)
There are 2 ways to move your group chat to the Cloud.
The Fork Way
Type /fork in your old group chat. That will instantly create a new group chat with all the participants of the old chat.
The URI Way
1) Create a new group chat with a few of the people from your old chat. 2-3 will suffice.
2) In this new chat, type /set options +JOINING_ENABLED
3) Then type /get uri. You will see a link appear in your chat - that is the URI of your new group chat.
4) Paste the URI in your old chat, and tell users to jump across by clicking on it.
Note that these options work best if every person is using the latest version of Skype.

Version 7.10 group conversations not working

Hello, yesterday after the update of the skype version on Mac I did not receice or been able to send any messages on the group conversations on Skype. I taught it is because of my computer and restarted it several time, but when also my friends started having the same issue, we saw that we have in common version 7.10. Does anybody know how to fix this? How can I revert to the previous version? Thanks

A short update on this. I uninstalled and deleted all skype files, installed skype 7.9 and still nothing. I am running on MAC OS X 10.10.4, but this happens on 10.10.1 as well. Does somebody have any clue what should I do to fix it? For now I am using web version of skype, which is working. Thanks
