All third party apps stopped working (crash at launch)
Ok, so there's a BUNCH of people having the exact same problem as I do (search this forum or Google with the title of this post). And I'm posting this in iPad but it does happen on iPhone too. Summary :
Often after an iOS update (but not always) third party apps stop working. When started, they flash open and then just quit.
Apple built-in apps keep working fine.
NOTHING solves the problem : hard reboot (home+power until reboot), deinstall+reinstall one/all apps, restore the iPhone/iPad, buy a new (free) app from the store to "reset" software authorization, de/reauthorize computer, reset password from app store account, deinstall app and then reinstall using the iPad directly (not via iTunes), etc.
I have one iPhone 4 and one iPad with this issue.
Oddly enough, on the iPad, only apps that have recently been UPDATED crash. Apps that were present and left alone on the device keep working. On the iPhone, there was an iOS update so everthing was reinstalled and therefore doesn't work anymore.
Strangest thing : reset the device to make sure nithing is open in the background, launch an app, app crashes and returns to springboard, double click "home" and... tadaam, the crashed app is in the list of open apps. On the iPad, 4-finger slide does even go to that app's screen (which is pitch black).
As I said, 30 minutes of googling revealed at least 50 identical cases. All seem related to iOS 5.1. My iPhone rune iOS 5.1.1 (that was the upgrade) and my iPad runs iOS 5.1 and I'm NOT doing the update until I can solve this crazy thing.
Please, all, HELP !
Thanks in advance. Please, Alan, I know my message might be a bit long, but do read it! I DID try that and absolutely everything else that was mentionned in the other posts about this subject. Nothing works. And it doesn't work for the others either, not just me.
The only thing I can think of right now is to put the iDevice in DFU then make a clean install and configure it as a new iThingy. This looses all stored data and config so it's a pain in the a... and I won't try it unless I'm pretty sure nothing else can be done. And I'm not entirely sre it'll work, either… -
Skype 7.0 stops working once I send a PNG file
I am using Windows XP in my office. When I send a PNG picture file to a friend, the Skype 7.0 FREEZES immediately and also slows down my computer greatly. I read posts that suggest to upgrade the IE to 11.0. But I feel sorry to say, using Windows XP is our company's decision, not mine. Could you give another solution that can help Windows XP's users?
Please don't force me to use the new version when it still has bug(s)! I use Skype everyday at work. I cannot accept a Skype which force me to restart my computer everytime.
And by the way, the Skype 7.0 deleted the function of showing contact's local time. This function is quite necessary for international business. Why do you remove it??

Please forgive me if I disagree with your analysis. In my own case, at least, the "freeze" causes a never-ending resource check on my hard drive (the activity light is on solidly) that will not stop unless I use the Task Manager to end the program entirely. I have uninstalled and reinstalled three times, rebooted five times, cleaned the Registry, and confirmed that Skype 7.0.0.102 is fully functional until one attempts to send or receive a file of any kind. Returning to (click on) the conversation where the file is attempting to be transferred locks up the system again.
I am attempting to find a good installer for a previous version of Skype. I realize that I am offending the Gods of Technology by continuing to use an outdated OS, but I've no income for two years and have to limp along with what I've got. ^___^
Hi,
After some hours trying to solve the same exact problem you described I found a solution that certainly worked for me:
I just deleted the folder C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Application Data\Skype\<skype_user_name>\media_messaging and restart Skype.
In my case, the problem appeared after sending a screenshot to a contact. Then, when opening the conversation window from that person the whole Skype stopped working. I didn't had problems by opening conversation windows from other contacts.
I hope this helps for other people -
Skype 7.7 stops working after a few hours
After a few hours maybe 6 hours or so, skype will not let me get on calls. If I try to get on a call skype immediately stops working. I am using Windows 10 and I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but that has not worked.

It's not a router problem as I explained in my post. If it was a router problem then I wouldn't have the problem everywhere I go. It is an issue with the software.
Then I guess the millions of people running 10.5.7 with no issues are just hallucinating that their machines are working fine?
I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)
The single best diagnostic you could do is take your system running 10.5.7 to an Apple Store, and try using their in-store network.
If your machine performs flawlessly, it may be a router issue.
If your machine has connectivity issues there, it may be a hardware problem with your machine.
There have been numerous people in multiple threads over the years who swore that an update was buggy because things used to work, but returned later to sheepishly admit that they took their machine in, a problem was found and fixed, and now their Mac works flawlessly with the newer software.
But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3." -
.8bf installed filter suddenly stops working crashing PS CC 32bit
I am looking for information on a .8bf filter set that I have installed for a few years and working which suddenly inexplicably fails to work crashing 32 bit PS CC - note it is the same install I used in PS CS5 Extended. In fact, I uninstalled (removed completely) the filter now failing to work, shut down (cold start), booted up and checked the filter no longer appeared in 32 bit PS CC, after ensuring it wasn't I shut the program and extracted the files from the zipped copy I have directly to the same folder location as before which was empty, opened 32 bit PS CC again and it showed, attempts to use it once more failed with the same error as before.
You should note though PS CS5 Extended uses the same file and I attempted to use it there after the latest failure, it functioned with no error.
This is how it was installed-
I made a folder on C Drive itself, (not in Program Files or 32 bit Program Files) I named the folder Plugins, inside it I put sub folders for every filter I install and install directly to them, I often leave a copy of the zip or extraction file (.exe) inside as well as its set up files or .8bf's. - I then have this ...... C:\Plugins\screen .... (this is the filter crashing it - Cybia's ScreenWorks)
I set PS to locate this folder as an Additional Plug-Ins Folder location under "Edit .... Preferences ... Plug-Ins" inside PS itself, choosing this folder " C:\Plugins\ " using browse button.
Other filters in the same location work
It works in PS CS5 Extended still
Mode is RGB Colour and 8 bit.
It worked in 32 bit PS CC until a few days agoApologies, I should have stated that information
Windows 7 Ultimate - 32gb Memory installed
Only the latest updates from windows update for the OS. No new program installs
Unsure if PS CC updated of late here is a snippit of the windows updates just produced. I noticed there is one failed update, it attempted to repeat itself, if you look at the entry below its for the same update and was successful the first time.
I have found other filters also do not work now crashing the program, once more, they work in PS CS5 Extended - I think it has to be a 32 bit PS CC issue - I have no idea if that auto updates or when it was since original install, I had to find the file originally as its not well marked that its not installed at same time or included in the download. -

Adressbook dialing with skype to phone stopped working
For a long time I could use macbook pro adressbook to call directly from there to external phone numbers. Since a few days kype had a problem, it did ring once, but never got a connection. Now it works again, but I cannot call from the adressbook.
Interestingly, Skype support did write me, you cannot call from the mac adressbook, but the funkction is definitely there (and worked) as there is the drop down menu, with the buttons: enlarge, call with skype, send sms with skype.
Any one can help me on this?Whatever it is you used to do with Skype it ain't there anymore as per the Skype support information. Complain to them.

Entire Skype Audio Spontaneously stops working
So, I was just in a group call with my friemds when suddenly, out of nowhere, my audio just cuts out. No skype audio whatsoever; I can't hear them speak, I can't hear the skype call noise, the startup noise, the logout, nothing.
I've checked my mixer and speaker settings on Skype, and they all seem normal and the bars all show that audio is coming through. My friends can hear me just fine, and I've asked them and I've googled for help, and I've gotten no results.
The only thing I can say that I was doing at the time was that I started installing a game on steam, but I have no idea why that would cause all skype audio to cease functioning.

Adobe Setup has stopped working
"Adobe Setup has stopped working"
Everytime I try to run Adobe installer or uninstaller the setup crashes!
video example:
http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cjXUiIntbI'm having a same problem with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and with Adobe Creative Suite 5.
I tried versions 4, 5.0 and 5.5 - with all same result. Older version 3 did still install still ok. Installation of CS4 or newer immediately halts to a "Adobe Setup had stopped working" error almost immediately after starting actual installation process.
After uninstalling old CS3 version, installing CS5 or 5.5 went little more further but then crashed always when installing "Adobe Player for Embedding". Only Acrobat can be installed since it does apparently install "Adobe Playe for Embedding"
After deleting folder "c:\program file(x86)\common files\adobe\installers" I was able to go even more further, then installation halted at "Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS5".
I've tried full uninstall of Creative Suite, using Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, Ccleaner, CleanMyPC and disabling all services with msconfig - without any success.
Finally I ended up doing Windows 7 Ultimate Update again, which removed the problem.

but it only gives me a option to close the program if you could help me to get this working that would be very helpful.
It sound like you download and install Photoshop CC 2014 on some machine running some operating system at some level and there is a problem with your environment configuration. Photoshop often fails when you don't have a good environment configuration. Make sure your OS is up to date all the fixes are installed and most important you have a supported Display adapter with at least 512MB of Vram and the latest manufacturer's System Device Driver installed. If you look at you system crash reports for your Photoshop CC 2014 has stopped working crashes you will most likely see that the crashes are happening in your Display's device driver.

Skype 7.7 Crashes on Windows 10 | "Skype has stopped working"
Hi all!First of all, I would like to say that I recently upgraded to Microsoft Windows 10 from 8.1 as of this morning. I love it, but there is one problem; my Skype client won't start up. As soon as I boot it up, it says "Skype has stopped working. Windows will try to find a solution", or something along those lines. I have uninstalled Skype, renamed the folder, disabled my firewall, deleted files in my %temp% and Skype folder, etc. etc. to no avail. When I did a DxDiag it said no problems were found in every category. However. I did find an interesting entry in the log that might be of help, so here it is.
