Skype 7.3 crashes AMD video driver on Win 8.1 if w...
I know that this topic is quite popular, but I have an additional effect which might be helpful to trace down the problem. Whatever I did before, Skype crashed my AMD video drivers on first attempt to use the webcam IF THE WEBCAM IS NOT IN USE!
If I block the webcam by using the native Logitec Application before opening the Skype video settings dialog, I get an appropriate message from Skype in the video window. Then I close down the Logitec Application. And now, THE VIDEO SHOWS UP in Skype without any problems.
REPEATABLE, and a nice workaround for me.
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

X220 crashes after video driver
I have installed a 64GB Transcend mSATA and installed Windows 7 64bit from a DVD (using the DVD drive on the base pad). Windows installs fine, the problem seems to occur when I try to update the video driver. The file that seems to be causing me the trouble is the 'Intel HD Graphics Driver (Integrated) for Windows 7 (64-bit)'. However I try to install, it goes smoothly, then asks to restart. After that, I get to the Windows loading icon, but then it goes to bluescreen. Other drivers seem to install OK. Any help would be most gratefully recieved.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hello,
Check with Transcend to see if the latest firmware is installed in your SSD, then try installing all of the available updates for the system from Lenovo except the video driver and then from Microsoft via Windows Update, which may offer a different driver. Does that make any difference?

Photoshop crash maybe video driver
I've been having a problem with photoshop crashing sometime while working in 3d. according to the reliabilty monitor it is related to a dll named "AHCLIENT.DLL." I could be wrong but this file is part of adobes help.
I have been told that it is due to outdated video card driver which to me make no sense, however.
I'd apreciate any thoughts and suggestion on this problem. TIA
My h8-1080t consist of:
Windows 8 pro
Norton Internet Security
The IPMTB-TK (Truckee) motherboard
intel core 7, 6 core, @3.2ghz
Geforce 545 3gb ram
12gb system ram
1.5 tb hd
500 gb hdHi cyberwasp,
You are right that the AHCLIENT.DLL is an Adobe help file. I would suggest checking out the Adobe forums you are more likely to find someone who can help you there.

I work on behalf of HP -
Hello,
I had a hard drive crash on a Lenove U400, i changed the hard disk drive.
I then reinstall Windwos 7 Home prmium 64 on the laptop. A standard windows 7 home.
The I installed the AMD Catalyst driver, from the lenovo driver web page.
AMD Graphics Driver - Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - Version: 8.851.0.0.
The system Crash.
I then reinstalled windows 7 from scratch. The system was working until I installed the Video driver.
There is nothing else installed on the system, only WIndows 7 Home 64 and the AMD video driver.
I did reinstall again, as soon as I put the AMD video driver in, the system is crashing.
I really need help.
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.Found the problem,
You need to have a Windows 7 with SP1. (Service Pack 1)
After I installed the windows 7 SP1, the video driver installed correctly. -
Fresh Win7, freeze while rebooting after video driver installation
Yesterday when I opened my laptop it froze while booting when the Win7 logo appears. Rebooted in safemode, all was good, didn't know what to look for exactly.
Today, I decided it was time for a new Win7 reinstall so I did it. Also, did a complete format of my SSD where I keep only my OS.
While it was rebooting after installing the AMD video driver it froze again, in the same spot. Restarted the laptop, chose last known good config and noticed in device manager that one of the video cards had error 43 (Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43))
I tried to install the driver for Intel then, but I got an error saying my laptop does not have the minimum requierments (even for older versions of the driver)
I tried every possible combination of installing, uninstalling, enabling, disabling one of the cards.
When I install the AMD driver, the Intel driver installs itself too.
When I leave AMD graphics enabled, it freezez at Win7 logo while booting,
When I disable AMD and leave just Intel enabled, then it boots normally, but right after the reboot, device manager shows them both with yellow triangle and "!" with error "This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. (Code 14)", and of course, if I reboot then it freezes again.
I have already spent 10h on this and couldn't find a way to fix it.Hi
Using Advanced boot options ( F8 at start up ) go into Safe Mode with Command prompt , Once Safe mode loads with command prompt type rstrui.exe hit Enter .... This will take you into System Restore ... Follow the onscreen instructions to Restore your system to the time before the AMD driver was installed . You can choose from multiple restore points if they have been created by you or your system .
Post me your Findings

Skype video crashes my GPU driver and causes blue screen.
Hello,
Installed a new copy of windows and got the latest version of skype for my PC (on wich skype worked just fine, video calls, voice calls, but it was an older version. No hardware changes)
With the new skype, I , for the least, get driver crashes, and for the most, a blue screen, when I just go to options to set up my webcam. As soon as I see the square "loading" my webcam in the options, everything freezes and I get a driver crash or a blue screen.
Current specs:
i5 4440, stock clocks
2x8gb 1333 ddr3 1.5v ram, stock
R7 260x, stock
500w PSU, not the best quality, But I also tried a 1000w platinum PSU, and same resaults.
last error code I remeber from the blue screen was: 0x00000116
I know it is related to the GPU, but it doesn't have power deficiency, since I manage to run heavy games just fine.By the way, my webcam works just fine on different web sites, so it's not the webcam.
What I tried:
-Degrading to the oldest supported version by skype
-Degrading video drivers
-Using different webcams
-Installed all windows 7 64 bit updates
edit:
skype 6.14 works, but newer versions crash my GPU drivers and cause blue screenI would suggest uninstalling Droidcam as it could be the source of some delays assisting in causing the problem. TDR problems occur when your videocard is unable to respond in 2 seconds for a variety of reasons (heat, tweaks), forcefully resetting the card. Some people increase this delay in their registry from 2 to up to 10 seconds to give the card time to catch up so that a reset doesn't occur. You can try this MS fix it which increases this delay. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2665946

erratically crashes my computer when coming back from sleep mode.
went back to former driver and crashing problem solved.
but Xillisoft video converter stopped working...
messy update, messy roll back,
I have reinstalled the old CATALYST drive manager w/o fixing the xilisoft problem
Please fix the new driver.Unfortunatelly the problem is not solved, the crash is back. It always happens when comming back from sleep, never when working normally. I have processed the after-crash memory.dmp file with the SDK tools and it is pretty clear the new video driver is faulty (remember this problem showed up after the driver update).
HP please...
fix this problem. We pay HP prices just because we want to avoid this sort of things when working.

I'm having trouble getting skype to recognize my Logitech HD Webcam C310. When I go to Call > Audio Settings then click on "Video Settings" (because the "Video" option is grayed out in the drop down) none of my web cams will load. I tested with another program to verify the cameras worked and they did. I am currently running a Windows 7 64 bit computer with the latest version of Skype 6.16.60.105.
Here is what happens
1. Go to video settings as described screen flashes (graphics driver is restarting) then no cameras load in the black screen previews
2. Pop-up message from taskbar saying graphics driver has stopped and been successfully restarted
2. Quit Skype try again computer will blue screen with an error caused by the dxgkrnl.sys driver
My Skype has been working fine until I updated it recently (as in a couple days ago because I finally remembered to update Skype) and it no longer worked.
Things I have tried and can hopefully be eliminated
1. Downgrading to older version of Skype
2. Updating graphics card drivers via Windows Update and the manufacturer (most likely not the card because like I said it was working fine until I updated Skype)
3. Not a heat issue. My computer runs no hotter than 29 degrees Celcius (only saying this because it was a suggestion from another site for a dxgkrnl.sys driver related problem)
4. Not a bad card. It's not even a year old and works fine otherwise its an AMD Radeon HD 7800 series
System Specs
AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor 3.30 GHz
8.00 GB DDR3 RAM
Other things that are probably not important
Recently set up a local server on my computer which I read can conflict with Skype and how it uses network ports. However there is not a port confliction and it should work fine and I highly doubt that had anything to do with the display problems.
My only conclusion is that it's a problem with the latest version of Skype or there is some other driver that needs updating.
Any help is appreciated. I am very computer savy so if there is any additional information you need I can get it for you. (ie event viewer logs, BSOD errors/parameters, ect)
Thanks in advanced

AMD 6490M driver is outdated, crashing and causing blue screen
I have hp pavilion dv6-6120se windows 7 64-bit with switchable graphics card 1GB intel 3000 and 1GB AMD radeon 6490M. The AMD graphics card driver is keep crashing and casing blue screen. I got this error from action center saying "A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly"(LiveKernelEvent). The AMD graphics driver is outdated and i have never received any updates for it for 3 years. AMD said that i have to contact the notebook manufacturer for GPU driver updates because i have switchable GPU. I tried to update the driver from AMD but the updates wasn't working correctly.
thanksHello @Tom_141,
I have read your post on how your notebook computer keeps crashing to a blue screen, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
To prevent your system from crashing to a blue screen in the future, I recommend following the steps in this document on Computer Locks Up or Freezes (Windows 7).
I also suggest Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7) to update your drivers to the most compatible, up to date software available for your computer.

Premiere 9 crash - video driver issue
Hi everyone,
I'm using PrE9 and everything was fine until afew days ago, the software would take longer than usual to render and finally crash at 97 - 98%. Yesterday the software displayed an error message when i open a project
I tried to update my display driver, remove and reinstall, still it always shows it, and causes PrE to crash during editing. Is it possible that the version 9 is no longer compatible with the lastest Nvidia drivers ?Thanks for that info.
That looks like it would be the latest driver.
I cannot imagine why PrE would throw a video driver error with that.
I normally try to keep several older versions of my nVidia Quadro drivers around, in case a new one breaks something. Lately, the nVidia drivers seem to have all been good, but a couple of years ago, there were two in a row, that introduced some extreme-gaming modules for 3D viewing, and during that time, rolling back to a previous version was the fix. Recently, AMD/ATI has had a couple of their drivers that just did not work with Adobe products.
If you can try a roll-back, to perhaps the driver version right before that one, it might be worth testing.
Good luck,
Hunt -
Question.. i'm having a problem with my AMD/ATI VIDEO DRIVE.. It has been suggested to uninstall the program.. will my laptop run properly or how do i resolve this issue.. i no longer have a warranty it is almost 4 years old...
Your graphics card(and most hardware) requires drivers to run efficiently. If you do not have proper drivers installed your graphics card may run at full performance and overheat. The best thing to do is go to the AMD website and download the latest drivers for your graphics card.
Btw what problem are you facing? -

FF was running fast and stable until the Beta update tonight. Afterward it crashed repeatedly, sometimes with a total system lockup, other times with an unresponsive system, occasionally with a Video Driver failure leading to a BSOD.
I had to DL 22 release and roll back. I'm now on the release channel, not the beta channel.
System config: Dell Latitude 6410, Win 7 x64, 128 GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Intel video hardware. Everything is up to date.
Trying to get this out before it crashes again then switching to 22.
Java plugin is usually disabled.
Toolbars are ABP, download status bar and Disconnect. If you are still getting blue screen crashes, make sure you've disabled Firefox's use of hardware graphics acceleration. With that feature off, it would be rare that Firefox would touch any privileged parts of Windows.
You might test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Any difference?
Oddly, that last crash report shows the Flash plugin still loading, even though you disabled it.
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash player. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) ''As described above...'' In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
(B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?] -
ITunes crashes while accessing iTunes Store with a intel video driver
I have a DELL laptop running Windows 8.1 with i7 4500U at 1.8G, 8G ram, 1TB hard disk, NVidia GT750M, iTunes is working fine at downloading or updating apps but crashes while I trying to accessing iTunes Store, no matter I choose run with intel integrated video card or Nvidia video card.
I wonder if this is happened because of Win 8.1 incompatibility or intel video driver, the driver is up to date and if I try an older driver, iTunes won't start at all.
The same thing happens with Adobe Photoshop CC 64bit, it just get freezed but get an error message said intel driver is crashed and auto recovered.
a message is shown if I run iTunes with intel video card by default when i access itunes store, but itunes quit if I try nvidia video card, without any error message.I'd like to add some more details to my question.
I don't know if this happens at Win8 since I updated to Win 8.1 right after I purchased my laptop, all Win patches are up to date and also iTunes, I am running Win 8.1 64bit Pro version.
I tryed to reinstall iTunes, install quicktime or reinstall quicktime, also tryed to use microsoft kb 2639417, but it does not support win 8.1. -
PE 13 crashes due to incompatible video driver detected. Running on Win 7 SP1 with ATI 540v video card/driver. Deleting bad driver file in adobe program data does not fix the problem, it simply replaces the text file and crashes again. My video driver is just fine. Any help out there?
rb
Your video card driver may be fine for something, but just not compatible with Premiere Elements 13/13.1.
For those with the display card error, the answers include
a. assure your video card/graphics card driver version is up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card -
