Skype 7.3 keeps crashing

Hello,
Ever since the last update my Skype keeps crashing and freezing and I can barely log in. Whenever I try to type out or load messages skype will either crash or freeze up and sometimes it crashes my computer along with it.
I've tried deleting my chat history, reinstalling skype, and search for a solution but nothing is working. I am using Windows 8.1 and I am not using skype Windows 8 version, I am using skype for desktop.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

    Running OSX 10.10.2. Opened Skype and it just keeps crashing before loading up completely. Was fine the day before and can't remember updating anything Skype or otherwise.   • Skype 7.1 keeps crashing constantly

    Hi I have been experiencing this problems for a while. The newer versions of Skype keeps crashing at random times. To fix the problem in the past i just used an older version, but I cannot download it any longer. I have run the direct x diagnostics and have attached the file. Anyone have any clues what is wrong?

    Hi there, thanks. Yes the old version of Skype works fine. I guess this is the only way on making Skype work is by using a old version. I am wondering if this could be an isp related problem. I have 3 computers at our house 2 AMD setups and one Intel. All of them have this Skype issue, yet my parents with another isp also have two computers and have no problems with the newest version. All running similar hardware and os versions. This is the only difference i can think of between the computers. Possibly a blocked port by the isp is making Skype crash? I have been having this same problem since version 6.20, so I alway just downloaded an older version. But this time the old version link no longer worked, so I installed the new one but it still crashed. Anyway Thanks.

  • Skype 7.4 keeps crashing on launch.

    Hi there. After i installed some software to run an IP camera as a webcam, skype always crashes about 5 seconds after it launches. I uninstalled the IP camera software and restarted and still have the same problem, also after reinstalling Skype. I assume it is detecting a webcam device that does not exist perhaps and is crashing.

    everytime i open up a contact the skype crashes immediatly.  Periodically it will work but most of the time it just closes.  Also i will be doing other things on the phone and i will get a message saying skype has stopped running and i cick ok.

    Whenever I open skype for desktop it immediately stops working and crashes. I've tried everything from reinstalling skype itself to reinstalling the .NET framework 3.5 It's f**king annoying and skype for modern computers just suck in general. Please help

    I installed skype (desktop). When I start Skype, it looks fine but when I try to make contact i get a pop-up "Skype werkt niet meer" (Dutch -> Skype does not work anymore). I only can close the pop up and also Skype wil be closed.....

  • Current Skype Version Keeps Crashing 7.5

    So skype for me keeps crashing, and I have upgraded from Windows version as I experienced this before. It takes time, but will randomly crash. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled. Changed folder names, deleted recommended folders. Even things for my User data. But nothing changes. It still keeps crashing. It is rather frustrating for me!

  • Skype ver 7.2.0.103 Keeps Crashing on windows 7

    As the title say.
    Skype was working perfectly fine till yesterday
    I've tried the basic fixes (Updated drivers, reinstall,.... etc.) nothing worked.
    i've read the related topics and tried the fixes they didn't work.
    i didn't install anything new since yesterday when it was working fine, it just keep crashing a minute after i login.

    I do have Raptr, and i've been using it with skype for years now without a problem. Since the new update this issue started to show. Also, i've been testing since yesterday, if i open skype then Raptr it doesn't crash. So will this be fixed in the next update?

    What exactly is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer? In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer. Do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player for Internet Explorer installed? What do you see when you open this link in your Internet Explorer? http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

    I have been on the phone with Xbox for 2 hours we cannot figure out why my Skype app is crashing! I am a premium skype member and I need Live Support someone please help me! 
     I have uninstalled the app multiple times, reinstalled mulitple times. I have tried to make a new account and everything. The app keeps crashing to the home screen.

    Just upgrade to Mavericks, but then my skype keep crashing, every time I click reopen, it goes back to the same "Problem report for Skype" window

    Which Skype version do you have? Check for updates or try a new installation of Skype. It's the easiest way :-)
